Gender Identity Belongs in Science Class, Missouri Teacher Says

A Missouri high school teacher has discussed her ex-husband’s transgender identity with minors in her science class, a former student told The Daily Signal. State law forbids teaching students about human sexuality without parental consent. The science teacher in the Webster Groves School District in St. Louis, Missouri, had previously written an article in 2020 saying her spouse’s “gender transition” from male to female “considerably” changed her practice as a science teacher. “At the beginning of my genetics unit, I specifically talk about the difference between chromosomal identity and gender identity and expression,” Elizabeth Hobbs wrote for the National Science Teaching Association. “This is probably the most significant practice; if gender identity and expression is not discussed, it does not exist to students, and that means a student’s identity can be erased, left out, or ignored.” Hobbs’ ex-husband wore mastectomy inserts, prosthetic breasts meant for women with breast cancer who have had mastectomies. He wore them until his hormone regime of estrogen and spironolactone blocked his male hormones and gave him larger breasts, making the inserts unnecessary, she shared in the article. A recent graduate of Webster Groves High School confirmed Hobbs discussed her ex-husband’s so-called gender identity in class. Lessons on human sexuality, including gender identity, are commonplace at Webster Groves. The Missouri attorney general’s office has repeatedly asked Webster Groves School District to “cease and desist” lessons on human sexuality, including gender identity, without proper notification to parents, The Daily Signal reported. The teacher is a writer for “Gender-Inclusive Biology,” a website with biology lesson plans that aim to “embed” so-called gender inclusion as a “recurring part of the curriculum, not a one-time lesson, an extension, or a reaction to an interaction.” The website encourages science teachers to deny biological sex, saying things like, “‘Ovaries produce eggs’ in meiosis, not ‘women produce eggs.'” In her National Science Teachers Association article, Hobbs said science teachers should be prepared to answer questions about biological sex—from the lens of radical gender ideology. “Biology teachers will have more questions about trans[gender] people because their content usually includes chromosomal inheritance and sex-linked traits,” she wrote. “The spectrum of gender identity includes people identifying as male, female, or nonbinary,” she continued. “People can also identify as ‘agender,’ which means they are not on the spectrum and do not identify with any gender.” Teachers are responsible for modeling “gender inclusion” to their students, Hobbs wrote. “Many teachers might assume they only need to recognize that gender is a spectrum in the genetics unit, and only when there is a trans[gender] or gender-complex student in the class,” she said. “I feel that every cis-gender (gender identity and gender expression culturally match sex assigned at birth) student also needs to hear and have adults model this recognition.” Hobbs’ syllabi include a statement of support for LGBTQ students, according to Hobbs’ article. “I identify as an ally to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) community, and I am available to listen and support you in an affirming manner,” she wrote. “Please communicate with me regarding how I can meet and support your needs. Know that your counselors and principals are committed to supporting you.” Hobbs said she “polices” student interactions “so that gender-complex students know they are safe.” Parents may be unaware of their child’s gender identity, Hobbs said. “Students may or may not be changing clothes when they get to school or before they return home,” she wrote.   Some students who are confused about their gender may dress as one sex at home and as the other at school and hide it from their parents. “At some point, parents can begin to see the new possibilities and the exciting reality of their child becoming their more-authentic self,” she continued. Educators uncomfortable with “gender-complex students” for religious reasons need to work on their prejudice, she argued. “Public school educators may not agree on the choices students make, but we will have transgender students in our classrooms, as well as gender-complex parents and colleagues,” she said. “People who know my background have asked me to provide guidance in a science teacher-specific context. Before we can make changes in our classroom, we need to listen in an unprejudiced way so that there is heart behind our actions.” She criticized people from the district for being scared of a man with beard and dress who entered the girls’ bathroom. “This person may have been figuring out if they felt comfortable wearing dresses or felt that the beard helped express the masculine part, while the dress helped express the feminine part,” she said. “When students or colleagues mention or act on harmful stereotypes, it is important to specifically address and counter them.” She said the notion that students identify as transgender just to look at the opposite sex in a locker room is “unfounded.” Sometimes doctors make mistakes on the sex of intersex babies, she said. Intersex people make up less than 2% of the population, and only 0.018%, according to some. Hobbs declined to comment for this story, referring The Daily Signal to the leaders of the “Gender-Inclusive Biology” website. A Webster Groves mom said she was horrified to hear of the teacher discussing her transgender ex-husband in class. The mom asked to remain anonymous to maintain her privacy, citing the small size of the community. “I was shocked to learn that the physics teacher was sharing such personal information—her husband being transgender and transitioning—to my high school student,” she told The Daily Signal. “This is totally inappropriate.  Webster Groves High School focused a lot on ‘social emotional learning.’ Unfortunately, this sometimes translated into teachers turning their classrooms into their own personal therapy sessions.”   The post Gender Identity Belongs in Science Class, Missouri Teacher Says appeared first on The Daily Signal.

LEAKED: Trans Nashville Shooter Allegedly Wrote Scathingly About Christians, Fantasized About ‘Imaginary Penis’

Newly released pages purportedly from the Nashville Covenant School shooter’s manifesto indicate that the shooter was strongly fixated on gender ideology and deeply held anger against Christianity. In the pages, released Wednesday by The Daily Wire, trans-identifying shooter Audrey Hale condemns her parents, harshly criticizes Christians, and fantasizes about her “imaginary penis.” The pages come after months of stonewalling from authorities, who refused to confirm or deny a previous set of manifesto pages commentator Stephen Crowder released in November. “Officials have denied that there was evidence suggesting that The Covenant School, a private Christian school that the shooter attended as a child, was targeted because of animus toward religion,” the Daily Wire’s Brent Scher reported. “The mentions of Christianity, which appear throughout the journal entries, suggest that it certainly may have been a factor.” “The remainder of the four pages, however, revolves around the shooter’s fixation on being a man, and suggests a serious case of gender dysphoria,” Scher added, noting that Hale “fantasized about what it would be like to have a penis.” The trans-identifying shooter, who killed three children and three adults at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tenn., in March 2023, before dying in a shoot-out with police, accused her parents of “selfishness” for refusing to support her desire to be a man. “Pain of loosing [sic] a daughter?” she wrote, according to The Daily Wire. “That’s not pain, that’s selfishness. Just like any rest of the parents with that mindset. They are full of shit.” “How could they not ever think of their own child suffering, and that they hate their gender so bad they cut + want to kill themselves?” the shooter reportedly continued. “F—ing parents like them who think of themselves first and their preference of conservative religion-gay shit make them believe that the child they are given should stay that way.” 2/ In one passage, the shooter rails against “Christian friends” that her parents have encouraged her to make. She writes, “Parents actually believe religion can change nature. That could explain why I don’t practice religion anymore. Let kids think for themselves.” pic.twitter.com/04xRXvBspj— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) June 12, 2024 “I’d kill to have parents who would let their child be happy no matter how different it is to their viewpoints or don’t agree, or scared of it,” she allegedly added. “I’d kill to have had those resources; 2007 was the birth of puberty blockers and a newfound discovery for treatment of non-conforming transgender children.” “Aren’t parents manipulative? It’s total ignorance when parents step in + try to change their child’s environment,” the shooter wrote in another passage published by The Daily Wire. “Make them go to youth group + force Christian friends in their life because the old ones were a ‘bad’ influence. … Parents actually believe religion can change nature. That could explain why I don’t practice religion anymore. Let kids think for themselves…” The Nashville Police Department did not immediately respond to The Daily Signal’s inquiry to confirm or deny the authenticity of the new pages. The FBI previously warned Nashville police, in a May 11, 2023 memo, that the release of a school shooter’s writings might result in “false narratives” that “may lead to unintended consequences for the segment of the population more vulnerable or open to conspiracy theories.” The Tennessee Star first reported on the memo’s existence in early June. Authorities have remained cagey on both the shooter and her documents, refusing to verify the authenticity of Hale’s alleged manifesto to The Daily Signal and other media outlets. During the mass shooting last year, Hale killed three children and three adults—Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all 9; Cynthia Peak, 61; Katherine Koonce, 60; and Mike Hill, 61, according to Fox News. Armed with two rifles and a handgun, the killer shot through the school’s locked door at about 10 a.m. that day, Fox reported. Hale then went upstairs to the second floor, where she reportedly opened fire. Police officers first received the 9-1-1 call at 10:13 a.m., and Metro Nashville Police Officers Rex Engelbert and Michael Collazo were among the dozens of officers who rushed to the building, The Tennessean reported. By 10:24 a.m., Engelbert and Collazo had taken out the shooter. Guess Ad Fontes's Highly Favorable Score of Hamas-Tied Al Jazeera

Guess Ad Fontes's Highly Favorable Score of Hamas-Tied Al Jazeera

Despite its deep ties to terrorism and anti-Semitism, Al Jazeera continues to receive a highly favorable score from media ratings firm Ad Fontes. Earlier this week, Israeli armed forces rescued three hostages from the Gaza home of Abdallah Aljamal, an Al Jazeera columnist and “Hamas terrorist.” This incident starkly exposes an Al Jazeera connection to Hamas, the organization behind the brutal terrorist massacre of Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, 2023. Amid mounting evidence of Al Jazeera's connections to terrorism, the Israeli Knesset even passed legislation to shut down the outlet’s offices over serious security concerns. Yet, media ratings firm Ad Fontes, known for its leftist bias, continues to bestow a high rating on Al Jazeera. Ad Fontes labels Al Jazeera as left-leaning and deems it a “reliable” source for analysis and “fact reporting.” According to Ad Fontes, “Al Jazeera (website) is a news organization funded in part by the government of Qatar. Launched in 1996 as a broadcast station ‘for the public benefit,’ it is now a global network with bureaus in 70 locations around the world.” Ad Fontes gave Al Jazeera a reliability rating of 41.56 out of 64. In stark contrast, Fox News received a low score of 35.25 out of 62, and The Daily Wire was rated 32.26, making them only “generally reliable” by Ad Fontes’s standards. Not to be outdone, NewsGuard has a history of offering favorable statements about Al Jazeera after initially criticizing the media outlet for failing to disclose its financial ties to the Qatari government. “Al Jazeera’s connection to the Qatari government, going back to the news organization’s founding in 1996, is well documented. But until earlier this year, AlJazeera.com made no mention of Qatar, failing to disclose government ownership and control to its readers,” NewsGuard reported. Only after meeting with NewsGuard executives did Al Jazeera update its website to acknowledge that it is “funded in part by the Qatari government.”  However, Al Jazeera’s financial ties to Qatar are just the tip of the iceberg. The Media Research Center has extensively documented Al Jazeera’s role as a propaganda tool sympathetic to terrorists, particularly as it relates to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In addition to one of its columnists allegedly holding three Israeli hostages, Al Jazeera reporters Ismail Abu Omar and Mohamed Washah were also reportedly busted moonlighting as Hamas terrorists.  At least one of these so-called journalists was shown in military garb instructing on how to use military weaponry, as reported by The Times of Israel in February. But don't expect Ad Fontes and NewsGuard to hold Al Jazeera accountable. As previously revealed by MRC, these anti-free speech internet traffic cops are focused on censoring right-leaning media while apparently turning a blind eye to media sympathetic to terrorism. Shame on them. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. WIN: Lia (Richard) Thomas Banned From Competing in Women’s Olympics

WIN: Lia (Richard) Thomas Banned From Competing in Women’s Olympics

In a shocking announcement, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) blocked a challenge from transgender swimmer Lia Thomas making it so that Thomas cannot compete in the women's category in the Olympics or any other elite swimming competition. Thomas dominated the Women’s Division of the NCAA Championships back in 2022, when he won a Division 1 title. Since then, critics, rightfully so, have called out the unfairness and lack of safety of having to compete against and with a biological man. World Aquatics is the Swiss-based world governing body for all aquatic competitions. The group noted that, due to the fact that Thomas has gone through male puberty, he isn’t allowed to compete in the women’s category. Thomas didn’t like that, obviously, and filed a lawsuit against World Aquatics claiming that it is “invalid and unlawful” to ban him from female sports and insisted that he should get to compete with biological women even though, biologically, Thomas is (and always be) a man. The matter was adjudicated by the CAS, which essentially told Thomas that he isn’t even qualified for “elite events” or the Olympics, so his little lawsuit was pointless. According to USA TODAY Sports, which obtained the ruling, “The CAS panel found that ‘for the time being’ she is not eligible to compete in elite competitions through World Aquatics or USA Swimming, so the policy does not apply to her” adding that “She is currently only entitled to compete in USA Swimming events that do not qualify as 'Elite Events.’” According to the USA TODAY Sports report, World Aquatics “welcomed” the decision noting that it was “a major step forward in our efforts to protect women’s sport.” World Aquatics also noted: World Aquatics is dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes fairness, respect, and equal opportunities for athletes of all genders and we reaffirm this pledge. Our policies and practices are continuously evaluated to ensure they align with these core values, which led to the introduction of our open category. We remain committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to uphold the principles of inclusivity in aquatic sports and remain confident that our gender inclusion policy represents a fair approach. The decision cited scientific documentation noting that swimmers like Thomas have significant physical advantages over biological women, which we’ve been saying for years. In response to the news, Riley Gaines, a swimmer who had to go up against Lia Thomas in college tweeted the following: Great news! Lia Thomas won't be able to compete in women's category at the Olympics or any other elite competition. He has just lost his legal battle in Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling. This is a victory for women and girls everywherehttps://t.co/fEZc47K0FA — Riley Gaines (@Riley_Gaines_) June 12, 2024 Others commented things like, “Good, no elite female athlete will have to lose out to this mediocre 6’4ft male swimmer.” And others wrote, “Is this a glimmer of hope? Can women have their sport back now, please? The trans-patriarchy had their fun, but time to get back to reality!” Hopefully, U.S. competitive swimming and other types of athletics follow suit and recognize how men do not belong in women’s sports.

Biden Adviser Scarborough on Debates: Don't Let Trump Talk About Hunter's Felonies!

Biden Adviser Scarborough on Debates: Don't Let Trump Talk About Hunter's Felonies!

On today's Morning Joe, informal Biden adviser Joe Scarborough offered his boy a word-for-word script to be used should Trump raise Hunter's gun convictions during the upcoming presidential debate. Scarborough should have saved his advice for one of those occasions when, as he bragged about on Tuesday's Morning Joe, he talks to Biden "for hours at a time." Because at this point, should Biden manage to mouth Scarborough's script during the debate, his words would be juxtaposed with Scarborough's suggestion. Embarrassing! Not only did Scarborough supply the script, he even offered stage directions [see screencap] in the event Trump raises Hunter: "Stop. Turn. Look around the stage, and say, hold on, hold on. I don't see Hunter Biden up here....I'm not running against Eric. I'm running against you, Donald. And you're not running against Hunter Biden or the ghost of Hunter Biden, who's not here. You're running against me!" Somebody should get Scarborough a director's chair and a clapperboard. "Cut! That's a wrap! Print it!" Be that as it may, the gist of Scarborough's advice was that Biden should emphasize that Trump is running against him, not against his family, and that Trump is the only candidate with felony convictions, 34 of them. This doesn't address that Trump's statement on the Hunter verdicts turned right to attacking the "Biden crime family." Trump will go right to Joe Biden's role helping his son enrich himself by meeting with and talking with his clients, including powerful people in Russia, China, Ukraine, and other countries.  Not content to serve as Biden's stage manager, Scarborough ended his spiel by issuing instructions to Biden's handlers: "Double down right now and go harder at Trump than ever before on the fact that he's a convicted felon." Yessir! On it, Mr. Scarborough! Musings: Has the time come for Scarborough to transition from informal adviser, and become a formal member of Team Biden? Consider: Morning Joe's been on the air for over 17 years.  Could the 61-year-old Scarborough be hankering for something new and exciting? What if Biden managed to win re-election? It's painfully obvious that Karine Jean-Pierre has been a hopeless flop. How about, "Introducing our new White House spokesman, Joe Scarborough!" Here's the transcript. MSNBC Morning Joe  6/12/24 6:18 am EDT JOE SCARBOROUGH: Let's be really clear about this. In the debate, cause I've heard a lot of people talking about this concern. Mike Barnicle, if I'm Joe Biden, and I'm on the debate stage with Donald Trump and he starts talking about Hunter Biden as some sort of retort against his own 34 felonies, I'd stop, I'd turn, I'd look around the stage and say, excuse me, hold on. Hold on. I don't see Hunter Biden up here. Hold on, Donald, let me check -- MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Maybe he's -- SCARBOROUGH: I don't see Eric over there. Wait, wait, Eric's not here, so, I'm not running against Eric. I'm running against you, Donald. And you're not running against Hunter Biden or the ghost of Hunter Biden, who's not here. You're running against me!  And up here, the two people that are going to run this country for the next four years, of the two of us, only one has been convicted of a felony! And you've been convicted of 34 felonies, Donald! So let's leave our kids out of this. Let's leave our family out of this. You don't want me to start talking about what you and your kids and your in-laws did in your name to get rich off of your back during the presidency.  Boom. That's it. MIKA: Saudi Arabia. SCARBOROUGH: Ends it!  And you know what? He shouldn't take any crap from Trump, and he needs to be ready. Because Donald Trump has 34 felony convictions. Joe Biden, none. Those are the two people on stage. And he shouldn't -- Biden's people should double down right now and go harder at Trump than ever before on the fact that he's a convicted felon.

77-year-old Oakland homeowner arrested on suspicion of murder after fatally shooting robbery suspect: Report

A 77-year-old Oakland homeowner was arrested on suspicion of murder after fatally shooting a robbery suspect earlier this week, KTVU-TV reported. The station said it's unclear whether the homeowner, whom KTVU isn't naming, will be formally charged or whether the homeowner was justified in the fatal shooting on self-defense grounds. 'If you are in imminent fear of your life or someone else's life in your home, you have every right to take necessary means for self-defense against the invaders.' Authorities said two men and a woman in a stolen Infiniti Q40 pulled up to a residence in the area of 98th Avenue and Burr Street in East Oakland just before 6 p.m. Monday, the station said. A witness told police the trio went on to the property, and one of the men had a crowbar, KTVU reported, adding that the witness then heard a gunshot. According to the East Bay Times, a witness saw the trio breaking into the man’s house. Neighbors told the station they heard multiple gunshots in the area of 98th Avenue and Burr Street.KTVU, citing court documents, said arriving police found the homeowner pointing a stolen Colt Python revolver at the female suspect, who told cops the homeowner shot her friend. The station said firefighters and paramedics tried to save the unidentified suspect, but he died at the scene. Police said the third suspect was found at the scene with a replica gun and was arrested on suspicion of burglary, KTVU added. The Times reported that Alameda County prosecutors had not yet filed charges against the third suspect as of Wednesday morning. The Times also reported that the homeowner was being held without bail as of Wednesday morning. According to KTVU, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has until Thursday to make a decision regarding whether to charge the homeowner, who declined to speak with investigators.KTVU legal analyst Michael Cardoza told the station, "You're not supposed to chase them. If you chase them and shoot them, for example, in the back, that is unlawful." But Cardoza added that homeowner could still argue self-defense, depending on the facts: "If you are in imminent fear of your life or someone else's life in your home, you have every right to take necessary means for self-defense against the invaders."
