EXCLUSIVE: Kentucky AG Investigates Company at Center of $200‚000 Payment to Bidens

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Kentucky’s attorney general is investigating a health care company that wired $200‚000 to James Biden the same day he wrote a check for that amount to his brother and future president Joe Biden. James Biden worked as a consultant for Americore Holdings LLC‚ a Florida-based hospital chain that later collapsed. Americore declared bankruptcy in Kentucky in 2022 under federal law amid reports of massive staff departures‚ poor patient care‚ and poor equipment at one of the hospitals in the state. It’s not clear whether the probe by the office of Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman‚ a Republican‚ extends to members of the Biden family.   “Since this is an ongoing investigation‚ we can’t provide further details at this time‚” Atley Smedley‚ Coleman’s deputy communications director‚ told The Daily Signal in an email.  Americore-US-Bankruptcy-Court-ComplaintDownload Coleman‚ elected in November 2023‚ is a former U.S. attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.  James Biden gave closed-door testimony Wednesday to investigators with three House committees—Oversight‚ Judiciary‚ and Ways and Means—as part of House Republicans’  impeachment inquiry into the president’s connection with family business deals in places such as China‚ Russia‚ Ukraine‚ and Romania. Joe Biden had a “chance” meeting with the Americore CEO‚ adding to the growing list of Biden family associates whom Joe Biden has personally met. pic.twitter.com/UovyueYivn— Oversight Committee (@GOPoversight) February 21‚ 2024 Americore‚ the collapsed hospital chain‚ gained prominence last year when the House Oversight and Accountability Committee revealed that on March 1‚ 2018‚ James Biden wrote a $200‚000 check to his brother Joe Biden‚ making a notation that it was a “loan repayment.”  James Biden wrote the $200‚000 check to his older brother the same day he got a $200‚000 payment from Americore Holdings LLC.    The House committee also revealed a separate $40‚000 check that James Biden made out to Joe Biden and apparently was linked to a large Chinese energy company‚ CEFC China Energy.  This evidence seems to contradict the president’s repeated assertions that he never profited from the overseas business deals made by his son Hunter Biden or other family members.   At a time when the Biden administration controls the Justice Department‚ more Republican prosecutors should hold the Biden administration accountable for potential criminality in their jurisdictions‚ said Mike Davis‚ founder of the Article III Project‚ a conservative legal group. “Republican attorneys general‚ district attorneys‚ and other prosecutors should wake up and start enforcing criminal laws related to obvious Biden family corruption across the country and world‚” Davis told The Daily Signal.  “If there is a Biden family business deal in any of their jurisdictions‚ then Republicans should prosecute‚” said Davis‚ a former Republican chief counsel for nominations working for the Senate Judiciary Committee. “If money flowed into any Republican jurisdictions‚ and if there was any criminal activity‚ Republicans should open up a criminal probe immediately.” Earlier this week‚ Politico reported on James Biden’s work with Americore Holdings‚ writing: “Joe Biden was a central element of Jim Biden’s pitch to potential partners and investors.” ? POLITICO: Biden’s brother used his name to promote a hospital chain. Then it collapsed. This weekend‚ POLITICO released a bombshell report on the Bidens’ interactions with Americore‚ a financially distressed rural hospital operator.Reminder: We previously revealed how… pic.twitter.com/3ZVVaX2Bwh— Oversight Committee (@GOPoversight) February 21‚ 2024 In addition‚ the Kentucky Labor Department began investigating the Americore hospital chain in 2018‚ according to Politico’s report.  James Biden was in Pineville‚ Kentucky‚ in May 2017 as part of his consulting work for the hospital chain‚ Politico reported.  Americore Holdings operated a hospital in Pineville that Politico‚ citing a report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services‚ described as “ravaged by staff departures and dwindling medical supplies.” It said “a patient died of cardiac arrest in late 2018 after receiving substandard care.”  When The Daily Signal first inquired about a possible investigation by the Kentucky attorney general‚ Coleman’s spokesperson initially replied: “We can’t comment on ongoing investigations.”  Asked in a follow-up message whether the office could confirm whether such an investigation exists‚ Smedley replied: “Since this is an ongoing investigation‚ we can’t provide further details at this time.” HHS-AmericoreDownload Have an opinion about this article? Phone Records Could Get Fani Willis Disbarred‚ Jailed‚ Legal Experts Say

Special prosecutor Nathan Wade’s cell phone data suggests that he and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis may have lied on the witness stand about their romantic relationship‚ opening them up to consequences greater than disqualification from the racketeering case the couple brought against former President Donald Trump‚ legal experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Phone records contained in a Friday court filing by Trump’s attorney appeared to contradict Wade’s testimony that he visited Willis’ condo less than 10 times‚ showing “a minimum of 35 occasions” where his phone was in her neighborhood for an extended time. The filing also appears to undermine Willis’ claim that he never spent the night with her. If the two are found to have lied under oath‚ Willis and Wade could face charges and potential disbarment‚ legal experts said. The data‚ which revealed “over 2‚000 voice calls and just under 12‚000 text messages” between the pair in 2021‚ further calls into question the timeline of their intimate relationship. Wade and Willis insisted it began in early 2022‚ after Wade’s contract started. [Willis hired Wade as special prosecutor in the Trump case in November 2021 at the rate of $250 an hour.] Atlanta-based defense attorney Andrew Fleischman said the “cell phone location data is powerful circumstantial evidence of a close personal relationship before 2022‚ as are the sheer number of texts and phone calls exchanged.” “The judge may find that the state was not truthful in its testimony and that its conduct in defending against disqualification is an independent basis to remove them‚” Fleischman said‚ referring to Willis and Wade. TikToker goes viral for complaining that she can't buy a home or afford groceries after earning a college degree

A young woman's lament has gone viral after she posted a video on TikTok that she cannot buy "nice things" and even hope to buy a home after earning a college degree. "Is anyone else just work their ass off for like the three or four last years and now you have a job that you hate and you still can't afford life?" said the TikToker on her account named "placeofpods." "And you're still f***ing miserable and you can't pay any of your bills and you can't live in a house that you imagine and you just feel lied to because you thought that if you just went to college and got a degree you'd be able to afford a house and like things that make you happy‚ but you still barely can afford groceries or clothes‚ or literally anything that makes you happy at all?" she added. "And you had to spend the whole entire weekend in your bed because you literally don't have any money to go do anything other‚ like if you buy food you just can't have an entertainment budget?" she continued. "I'm just wondering if anyone else is dealing with something like this or if it's just me‚ 'cuz‚ this s*** ain't it!" The video garnered more than a million views on TikTok and another million views on Twitter. In other video‚ she divulged that she earned about $60k in her job‚ which is far more than the median U.S. wage of about $47k. "Stop whining and expecting instant wealth"Responses to the video were not consistent across partisan lines. Some accused her of being lazy and entitled while others blamed the economy under President Joe Biden for her complaints. "Our government and its institutions broke the social contract when they saddled us with a lifetime of debt and limited opportunity. Stop paying back your school loans‚" read one response. "I’m 44 yrs old‚ no college debt‚ trades job‚ no car payments‚ just a mortgage. And we are slowly drowning. GFY with the boomerpoasting. The American Dream was mortgaged so the olds could buy a bigger McMansion‚" replied another commentor. "Most of us had little or nothing starting out. Work‚ save‚ find a good partner‚ patiently acquire as you actually spend time in the work force. Stop whining and expecting instant wealth‚" responded one critic. "She can afford a house. But it’s not the house she wants. Younger generation doesn’t want to do starter homes‚" said another. The median wage for a person older than 25 years with a bachelor's degree is about 76% higher that that of a person older than 25 but with a high school degree. Similar complaints were made by a TikToker who said she can't enjoy life and work 40 hours a week. That garnered millions of views. Here's the video that went viral: — (@) Like Blaze News? Cellphone data suggests Fani Willis‚ Nathan Wade may have become romantic much earlier than they claimed under oath

A new report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution indicates that the romantic relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and fellow prosecutor Nathan Wade may have begun much earlier than the two claimed in sworn testimony last week‚ bolstering claims by former President Donald Trump and other defendants that the election interference case against them is irreparably compromised.Willis hired Wade in November 2021 to help her prosecute the Trump RICO case involving nearly 20 total defendants. Co-defendant Michael Roman and his legal team presented evidence last month that Willis and Wade had been more than just business associates while preparing the case and that they even had taken lavish pleasure trips together on the taxpayers' dime‚ creating a conflict of interest.Willis filed a motion on February 2 denying that her "private" former relationship with Wade gave her any "direct or indirect financial benefit" and therefore that she had "no personal conflict of interest that justifies her disqualification‚" as Blaze News previously reported. Then at a hearing to consider the matter last week‚ Willis and Wade both took the stand to defend their behavior. Both Willis and Wade claimed that they developed a romantic relationship in spring 2022‚ several months after they had begun working together on the case‚ and that the relationship ended last summer.During his testimony‚ Wade claimed that while he did visit Willis at her condo in the Hapeville neighborhood in a non-romantic capacity in 2021‚ he went there no more than 10 times and never stayed the night. "So if phone records were to reflect that you were making phone calls from the same location as the condo before Nov. 1‚ 2021‚" Trump attorney Steve Sadow asked‚ "and it was on multiple occasions‚ the phone records would be wrong?""If phone records reflected that‚ yes‚ sir‚" Wade replied."They’d be wrong?" Sadow asked again."They’d be wrong‚" Wade repeated. — (@) However‚ a new affidavit submitted by Trump's legal team on Friday suggests otherwise. According to the affidavit‚ which Geraldo Rivera described as "an earthquake‚" between January and November 2021‚ Wade had visited Willis' Hapeville home at least 35 times and had twice come over late at night and left in the wee hours of the morning. The allegations are based on data collected from Wade's cellphone. The data indicated that on each of these 35 occasions‚ Wade remained at Willis' residence for "an extended period of time‚" almost always in the evening. For example‚ data reportedly showed that Wade arrived in the area of Willis' address at 10:45 p.m. on September 11‚ 2021‚ and left the area at 3:28 a.m. the following morning. He then returned to the area of his residence in East Cobb at 4:05 a.m.In all‚ the data collected from Wade's cellphone reportedly demonstrates that he and Willis exchanged over 2‚000 phone calls and nearly 10‚000 text messages in 2021 before Willis hired Wade for the Trump election case‚ the Journal-Constitution reported."The focus of this case will continue to shift rapidly away from Trump and his co-defendants and hit squarely on the credibility and possible perjury of the prosecutor‚" Rivera opined on social media."This is exactly why you don't want your emotionally distraught client to take the witness stand under oath to defend their character."However‚ some still say that the cellphone data is not definitive proof of misconduct. Georgia Tech electrical and computer engineering professor Paul Steffes — who "reviewed a summary of the investigation included in the affidavit‚" the AJC reported — claimed that the data indicates only that Wade was within an area‚ about nine square miles in size‚ that includes Willis' condo.Former DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James was likewise skeptical that the data contradicted the former couple's respective testimonies. "The real question is whether there was proof there was a romantic relationship at that time‚" James said‚ "and I don’t think this proves there was. It just proves a relationship‚ which they’ve already acknowledged."Judge Scott McAfee‚ who will determine whether to disqualify Willis and her office from the RICO case‚ has yet to decide whether to accept the affidavit into evidence.Jeff DiSantis‚ a spokesperson for Willis‚ issued the following statement on Friday: "We are required to respond to the filing via the court and we are preparing a response now."Like Blaze News? When diversity efforts go wrong: Google's Gemini creates 'racially diverse Nazis'

When headlines read “Google apologizes for generating racially diverse Nazis‚” you might start wondering if you’re living in the Twilight Zone. Dave Landau can’t help but laugh at the sheer absurdity of the ordeal‚ especially the image of “the Asian woman” decked out in Nazi regalia or the “Native American over there in Germany.” When someone asked Google's new AI feature‚ Gemini‚ to create an image of a German Nazi‚ this is the picture it generated: “With all the AI stuff going on‚ Google decided to put their own out‚ and if you type in almost anything historical‚ they'll make it diverse which is … a good thing‚ except for Nazis‚” laughs 1/4 Black Garrett. Gemini was reportedly programmed to not further racial and gender stereotypes‚ but when it comes to generating historical images‚ clearly there have been some problems. When asked to create an image of America’s Founding Fathers‚ it did the same thing and featured a variety of races‚ which is‚ you know ... not accurate. Obviously‚ people are upset‚ leading some to accuse the platform of intentionally avoiding creating white people‚ which‚ of course‚ the company denied. Google did release an apology‚ however‚ and claimed that “Gemini is offering inaccuracies in some historical image generation depictions” and that the company is “working to improve these kinds of depictions immediately.” For now‚ Gemini has been blocked from generating images of human beings until the issue has been resolved. To hear more of Dave and 1/4 Black Garrett’s comical take on the situation‚ watch the clip below. Fetterman offers to officiate gay weddings in Tennessee

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has offered to travel to Tennessee to officiate gay weddings."To any same-sex couples in Tennessee‚ it would be my pleasure to travel to your beautiful state and officiate your wedding. DM me‚" Fetterman said in a post on X.Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee‚ a Republican‚ recently signed legislation that indicates that an individual "shall not be required to solemnize a marriage if" they object to doing so due to "conscience or religious beliefs." — (@) The liberal congressman‚ who took office in 2023‚ has been supportive of Israel. "For peace &; a 2-state solution‚ Hamas must be destroyed &; I fully support Israel's right to do that‚" he said in a November tweet. "Hamas is anathema for the peace‚ Palestinians deserve better."Fetterman checked into to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to be treated for clinical depression last year."It's been one year since I checked in to Walter Reed to receive treatment for my depression‚" Fetterman noted last week‚ explaining that he had checked in on his son Karl's birthday. "I'll never forget the decision. I had been in a dark place‚ and going to inpatient treatment on Karl’s birthday left me feeling like a failure. Clinical depression is no joke‚ and it convinces you that you're a loser‚ even if you've won‚" Fetterman added. "But slowly‚ over a few weeks‚ I began to get better. My family was the single biggest motivation to take on my depression‚" he noted. "With medical help‚ therapy‚ and my family's support‚ I found a way forward."Like Blaze News?
