Michigan’s Dem AG Threatens To Prosecute Woman Over ‘Misleading’ Social Media Posts

A Michigan resident was stunned to find a cease-and-desist letter from Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel earlier this week that threatened legal action after the woman had published social media posts alerting voters to a change in voting locations in Ross Township and alleging the township did not follow the law on notifying residents.  Kerry Lynn Elieff, who lives in Ross Township, near Kalamazoo, told The Daily Wire that the cease and desist order didn’t specify which post broke the law but demanded that she delete all “misleading or false election information.” Elieff received the letter on Tuesday, the same day the state’s primary elections were held. Elieff holds that her township did not follow the law, which requires voters to be notified of a polling location change within 60 days, The Midwesterner reported. She said that she published multiple posts and videos on social media to alert fellow voters in her township of the change.  “I was posting this and informing the residents of this, and then I put out a FOIA request. And in that FOIA request, they told me that they would give me the information by August 8th, two days after the election,” Elieff told The Daily Wire. “So I’m making some videos and I’m making some posts with timelines. And then I get this letter from Dana Nessel, telling me to ‘cease and desist.’”  “I’m shocked,” she added. “They are threatening me with criminal prosecution for sharing information with residents of the township. And two things that I noticed, it didn’t tell me a specific thing that I said that was misinformation, and number two, there was never any ‘if you find this an error, please contact us.’ There wasn’t an investigation. This was really a beatdown.”   Elieff told The Daily Wire that she is looking into a federal lawsuit and finding legal representation following the cease-and-desist order.  WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The letter from Nessel’s office, which was signed by Criminal Trials Division Chief Robbin N. Liddell, stated, “This CEASE and DESIST letter is to inform you that you are in violation of Michigan election law. It has come to the attention of our office that you have spread misleading or false election information regarding polling locations in Ross Township through on-line sites. Specifically, MCL 168.932(a) prohibits and criminalizes this conduct.” “The polling locations in Ross Township were legally approved and selected by the township board and clerk. Any false or misleading information you posted should be removed across all platforms,” the letter continued. “Therefore, you are hereby ordered to CEASE and DESIST the use of online platforms to continue spreading false or misleading information regarding the Ross Township polling locations. Failure to comply with this notice may result in criminal prosecution.”  IT BEGINS: Dana Nessel sends ‘Cease and Desist’ threat letter over election ‘misinformation’ https://t.co/fe0zWrm15Q via @Th_Midwesterner — The Midwesterner (@Th_Midwesterner) August 6, 2024 The section of the law cited by the attorney general’s office states, “A person shall not attempt, by means of bribery, menace, or other corrupt means or device, either directly or indirectly, to influence an elector in giving his or her vote, or to deter the elector from, or interrupt the elector in giving his or her vote at any election held in this state.” The Michigan woman said she complied with the letter, deleting some posts while revising others, but she added that it was difficult to know how to proceed since the letter from the AG’s office did not mention any specific social media posts.  “I don’t want to go to prison over this. What are they deeming ‘misinformation’?” she asked. “If I’m wrong, I’m willing to go back and change it and own it.”  Elieff received the letter shortly after Michigan Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s office released a document urging voters to report “misleading or inaccurate information regarding voting or elections in Michigan.” The Michigan woman told The Federalist earlier this week that she believes someone in her township who disagrees with her politically reported her.  Earlier this year, the Republican National Committee sued Benson, alleging she secretly directed local election officials before the February 2024 presidential primary election to presume that an absentee voter’s signature was legitimate. Michigan is a vital battleground state in the 2024 presidential election and will also hold a key Senate election to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

Pakistani Suspect In Plot To Kill Trump Was Allowed Into U.S. Even Though He Was On Terror Watchlist

A Pakistani man charged with plotting with Iran to assassinate former President Donald Trump and other U.S. officials was allowed into the U.S. even though he was on a terror watchlist. Asif Raza Merchant, 46, was arrested last month and charged in a murder-for-hire plot to assassinate a politician or U.S. government official on U.S. soil, the Department of Justice said in a press release on Tuesday. Just The News reported that Merchant was allowed into the U.S. by the FBI in April with special permission known as “significant public benefit parole,” despite being flagged on a terrorism watchlist and having recently spent time in Iran. The outlet obtained government memos showing that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force interviewed Merchant, fingerprinted him, and inspected his electronic devices when he arrived in Houston but allowed him to leave. “Subject was polite and cooperative throughout encounter,” the FBI interview memo said. “… Subject’s notable travel outside of country of citizenship includes a recent trip to Iran.” Merchant was arrested on July 12, just one day before Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Immigration records reviewed by Just The News revealed that Merchant was on a watch list with a note calling him a “Lookout Qualified Person of Interest.” Several law enforcement officials who spoke to Just The News said Merchant’s parole designation would allow agents to attempt to flip him into cooperating against terrorists or allow them time to determine why he was coming to the U.S. and who he was working with. Those tactics also came with the risk that they would lose track of Merchant, the officials told Just The News. Merchant was also allowed to remain in the country beyond the expiration date for his parole. After being allowed into the U.S., Merchant immediately contacted someone he thought could help him allegedly carry out the assassination, the DOJ said. That person contacted law enforcement and became a confidential source (CS) to assist law enforcement in its investigation of Merchant. WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Merchant allegedly told the CS that he was assigned to recruit hitmen to steal documents or USB drives from a target’s home, plan protests, and kill politicians or government officials. Merchant expected the CS to plan the assassination and warned him that the target would be surrounded by security. Merchant said the assassination should take place after he left the country and indicated that he had been assigned this task by individuals in Iran or Pakistan. Undercover federal law enforcement agents posed as hitmen and got Merchant to allegedly agree to $5,000 in payment for the assassinations. “Notably, when the FBI arrived at his residence to execute the arrest as well as a search warrant for the residence, Merchant refused to exit his residence for approximately 20 minutes after the FBI announced their presence and the search warrant,” court documents said. “During the search, law enforcement agents searched Merchant’s wallet and found the handwritten note inside with the code words that Merchant invented to communicate with the CS about the assassination plot.” Neither the DOJ nor court documents mentioned Trump as Merchant’s target, but The New York Daily News said a source told the outlet that this was the case.

Why Women Should Not Propose Marriage To Men

Why Women Should Not Propose Marriage To Men

Adapted from “The Michael Knowles Show,”  August 8, 2023. This week, a 33-year-old track-and-field Olympian woman proposed to her fiance after finishing fourth in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. She finished the race, ran off the track, and knelt to propose. The story has gone viral. She proposed with a pin, engraved “Love is in Paris.” (Is that the proper way? Do you propose to a man with a pin? Or a ring? A Rolex?) Nevertheless, the man accepts the proposal from his girlfriend, they kiss, and celebrations ensue. This is pretty par for the course for the 2024 Olympics considering the gender-bending going on in the Paris games from the weird, decadent opening ceremonies to boxing to this marriage proposal. So, why is this wrong? The centrists, the moderates, and even the center Right will say, “Now Michael, what is wrong with that? What is wrong with a woman proposing to a man? There is nothing wrong, you fuddy duddy, you old-fashioned radical extremist.” Yet we all know it’s a bit weird. Our intuition tells us it’s wrong for a woman to propose to a man. Intuitively, we know a man is supposed to propose marriage to a woman, even if you are unable to articulate the precise reasons why that is. We all know it intuitively. Many of the people who will criticize me for raising any questions about this will also agree with me; they just don’t give themselves permission to admit it because they can’t write a perfectly rational treatise about why a man should propose to a woman — and not the other way around. They will deny their intuition. Still, there are perfectly rational reasons as to why the tradition of men proposing to women has come to be. First, men tend to be the less eager party when it comes to getting married. While one might argue that is wrong, bad, and terrible, it is nonetheless true. This goes back to when we were five years old. No five-year-old boy in the history of the world has ever dreamed about his wedding day. However, most five-year-old girls dream about their wedding day. That is simply how men and women are built; it is how we are wired. The libs complain about this — they complain about nature and reality quite a lot — and they are discontent with it. They unceasingly try to revolutionize and upend reality. But the fact remains: Men are the less eager party when it comes to getting married. Because we are the ones who must get over the hesitancy of getting married, we are the ones who take the initiative to propose. Second, generally men take more of a financial risk when getting married. Though in today’s time it is less common, men are often the breadwinners, so they are the party who proposes because they are taking more of a financial risk when doing so. Putting aside the matter of who the breadwinner is, men take the emotional risk to propose. Sometimes when a man gets on one knee, the woman says, “No thanks.” This exact scenario happened at a UFC fight, where a fighter proposed to his girlfriend following his fight, and she said no. He was devastated and utterly broken down. But a man takes that risk — and that is ok. WATCH: The Michael Knowles Show Men and women are different. For any of the putative conservatives who criticize this stance and ask why it matters who proposes to whom, consider the issue of transing the kids. We all agree we should not trans the kids. (Not Tim Walz. Tim Walz wants to trans the kids, but the vast majority of all normal people think we should not trans the kids.) The reason we shouldn’t trans the kids is because a man cannot be a woman. So, are you also willing to agree we should not trans the adults? Because if a man cannot be a woman, then that is true at any age. Are you willing to go further and say marriage has a distinct meaning? At its core, the defining feature of marriage is about how men and women are different. Many conservatives will not go so far as to agree with that today. Are you willing to go even further on the point of feminism? According to multiple social surveys, feminism has actually caused women to be less happy because it runs contrary to nature and reality — because men and women are different. So if transing the kids is wrong because men and women are different, a point on which we all agree, then all of these things have to be wrong. So, maybe it is ok to admit there is something wrong with a lady proposing to a man at the Olympics or anywhere else for that matter. On a final note, this couple had been dating for nine years. Some have responded, saying, “Well, Michael, the boyfriend had not proposed, so she took matters into her own hands. He should have manned up and proposed.” Yes, I’m sure he should have proposed or broken up with her; however, while I have great sympathy for the woman and I think the man is a total loser (as does the rest of the world because of how this whole situation played out), the woman still should not have been the one to propose. What should she have done? She should have dumped him years ago. Or, she should have done what my grandmother did to my grandfather (who did not date for nine years) and given him an ultimatum: marry or break up. So, my grandfather proposed. They had six children, were married for 69 years, and had a wonderful life. That’s what should have happened. But a woman proposing to a man? It’s just not quite right. * * * WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI

Little Boy Thanks Teen In Cutest Way For Helping Him Nail Skateboarding Trick

When a little boy wanted to perfect an awesome skateboarding trick, he turned to a teen with more experience for help. This young man was more than willing to lend a hand — literally! In order to complete the stunt, which involved a ramp, the kid would have to pick up speed. So, the teenager took the child by the hand to get him started! However, the small boy would have to perform the next part of this skateboarding trick on his own. He managed to do so with flying colors. Not only did the child skate up the ramp and soar over a tall obstacle, he also flipped his board in mid-air! Everyone watching cheered when they saw him complete the impressive feat. @james_cruickshank_ @jaxdecker_effs #nyc #skate #kickflip #thuggish #ruggish #bone ♬ Thuggish Ruggish Bone – Bone Thugs-n-Harmony As soon as the boy finished his skateboarding trick, the first thing he did was rush over to thank the person who had helped him. He gave the teenager a big hug while the two of them were still on their skateboards. In fact, he basically tackled the older kid with the sheer force of his excitement, knocking him off his wheels. Judging by the big smile on the teen’s face, he didn’t seem to mind one bit. It’s wonderful to see that this older boy wasn’t too busy to help a fellow skateboarder hone his skills. Commenters loved watching this incredibly wholesome interaction between kids from different age groups! Screengrab from TikTok “I love when older kids show/help younger kids how to do stuff,” one person wrote. “It seriously makes a big impact on them!” Another added, “You’re definitely like a big brother to him.” A third said, “This is how core memories are made.” We’re sure this little boy will never forget how a kind teen helped him with this tough skateboarding trick!
