Speaker Johnson warns Americans about Biden's 'election year gimmicks' and plan to use the border crisis for politics

Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to let President Joe Biden exploit the border crisis to score political points. For years‚ the Biden administration claimed the border is "secure" and denied there is a crisis. Then‚ when lawmakers wrote a bill that would have given Ukraine more than $60 billion and just $20 billion to the border crisis‚ Biden blamed the crisis on Republicans and claimed his hands were tied. "I've done all I can do‚" Biden claimed as Republicans screamed from the rafters that Biden is refusing to use existing statutory authority to alleviate the migrant crisis. But this week new reports said that Biden is now considering using executive authority to stymie the crisis‚ undermining his previous claims that there is nothing he can do. Under consideration is using a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act to deport migrants‚ which is an existing law‚ and policies that make it more difficult for migrants to pass asylum screenings and that allow the government to deport quickly those migrants who fail an enhanced screening process. In a statement‚ Johnson highlighted how Biden is using a potential short-term solution to score political points. After noting that Biden has previously ignored all demands to use his executive authority to alleviate the border crisis‚ Johnson said: Now‚ in an election year‚ after the president has surrendered the border to cartels and smugglers‚ after tens of thousands of Americans have tragically lost their lives due to fentanyl poisoning‚ after countless unaccompanied minors and young people have been subjected to human trafficking‚ and after millions of illegal aliens have been scattered by the Biden administration throughout our country — the President suddenly seems interested in trying to make a change using the legal authority that he claimed until recently didn't exist. Americans have lost faith in this President and won't be fooled by election year gimmicks that don't actually secure the border. Nor will they forget that the President created this catastrophe and‚ until now‚ has refused to use his executive power to fix it. Biden's plans‚ according to Johnson‚ reveal "just how brazenly and intentionally President Biden misled the public when he claimed he had done everything in his power to secure the border.""Specifically‚ the President's alleged desire to invoke Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act‚ which the White House dismissed using for months‚ is particularly telling‚" Johnson added. That Biden is now exploring a solution to score political points is not just a Republican talking point.Axios reported this week that Biden is considering issuing an executive order about two weeks before delivering his State of the Union address. That way‚ Biden will be able to tell Americans that "he took action while Republicans just talk‚" according to Axios.Like Blaze News? AT&;T’s outage is the reason I’m a prepper

AT&;T’s outage is the reason I’m a prepper

Last year I had William Forstchen on “The Glenn Beck Program.” He’s the author of “One Second After‚” a novel that explores what would happen if an electromagnetic pulse hit the United States. It was February 2023 when I interviewed Forstchen‚ and the World Economic Forum had just issued a warning about imminent cyberattacks. It was a timely conversation. Fast-forward to this week. On Thursday‚ thousands of people were without cellphone service following a national outage of AT&;T. On Friday‚ AT&;T released a statement assuring everyone that the outage was not caused by a cyberattack. How long do you think your community would uphold civility and the rule of law when they become desperate for basic necessities? Now‚ I’m not saying it was a cyberattack. I’m not saying it wasn’t. But we should all consider whether we are prepared for one. According to our overlords in Davos‚ they are saying it’s a matter of when rather than if. Unless you’re a prepper like me‚ you probably haven’t considered what it would be like if we experienced a national cyberattack or an EMP. But William Forstchen has‚ and what he shared on my show was absolutely astounding. Consider for a moment if we went to war with Russia. Not like that would happen‚ right? Suppose Russia were to launch a cyberattack that left large portions of the United States without electricity. It’s not like Russia has ever launched cyberattacks against America before. What do you think would happen in the moments right after that attack? Let’s first take a step back and consider how vital electricity is for virtually everything we do. Forstchen compared our national infrastructure to a Jenga tower‚ and electricity is one of the blocks at the very bottom. “If that one block goes out‚” he said‚ “the entire tower collapses.” What would that look like? Your credit cards wouldn’t work. You couldn’t access your bank account. You wouldn’t be able to buy anything. You would have no heating unless you are prepared and have a backup generator. Chances are the phone lines would be down‚ so forget about calling 911. But that would be pointless anyway because your local hospital would also be without power. But that’s just the beginning. The bigger issue is the supply chain‚ which would cease almost immediately. Unless you have a backup supply of lifesaving medicine‚ food‚ water‚ and other basics‚ you are in a very dangerous situation. But you wouldn’t be the only one in trouble‚ and people do crazy things in desperate situations. How long do you think your community would uphold civility and the rule of law when they become desperate for basic necessities? What do you think people would do when no one could call the police and the police wouldn’t come anyway?Preppers have a reputation for being a crazy bunch of people who are preparing for impossibly outlandish situations. But does that situation seem outlandish? Is it crazy to think that we could go to war with Russia? We are already funding a war against Russia‚ and it’s a short step from there to an active war. Is it far-fetched to think that Russia‚ or any other capable world power‚ would launch a large-scale cyberattack on U.S. citizens? Russia has launched smaller cyberattacks on us before. Why wouldn’t it escalate if the opportunity presented itself? “Prepping” is making sure your house is in order. Our leaders are playing with fire‚ and there are few things in our current time that we can control. But we can control some things. You can buy extra jugs of water. You can stock up on non-perishable food. You can get a power source that’s not dependent on electricity. We may not be able to control everything‚ but we can make sure that our families are taken care of. That’s why I’m a prepper‚ and unless you trust your government to have your best interests in mind‚ you should consider being one too. Want more from Glenn Beck? Wyoming Senate pulls funding for DEI‚ gender studies from University of Wyoming‚ which includes programs for HS students

The Wyoming Senate declared diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion programs to be a source of division and have decided to pull funding for such programs at the University of Wyoming. During their budget proposals‚ state Senate members also made similar decisions surrounding gender studies programs. The University of Wyoming's Office of Diversity‚ Equity‚ and Inclusion will lose $1.7 million after a 20-11 vote in the state Senate passed during biennial budget discussions‚ the Wyoming Herald reported. An amendment declared no state funds should support any similar initiatives at the school.Republican State Senator Cheri Steinmetz proposed the budgetary change and emphasized that funding needed to be taken away from such programming. Republican State Senator Charles Scott also supported the amendment and said that the DEI programs lead to a focus on division rather than fostering equality. He noted his experience at Harvard University taught him that such programs‚ which he said pushed ideological homogeneity‚ could cause a "rot" in Wyoming. An 18-13 vote also reportedly passed an amendment that banned the university from putting any funding toward gender studies courses or programs. Steinmetz argued the programs were ideologically based‚ as opposed to educational. — (@) The university's DEI resources are numerous and varied in nature and include support for DACA recipients‚ for example. The school has mandated diversity-driven town halls and workshops‚ including a previously-promoted discussion on "Black Fatigue and being Committed Allies."The institution offers a "Black 14 social justice summer" program for high school students‚ which showcases a black raised-fist‚ typically associated with communist racial identarian groups. The "Black 14" refers to a group of black student-athletes from the 1969 University of Wyoming football team who were kicked off for allegedly "requesting to participate" in a protest for the Black Students' Alliance. The group allegedly broke a rule that stated scholarship players could not participate in demonstrations. The summer program's curriculum includes studies in civil rights and social justice and the "exploration of diversity‚ equity and inclusion principles." A portion of the course is also spent teaching "Cultural Understanding‚ Humility &; Intersectionality." We stand as a campus united against racism‚ bigotry and any other cultural or social intolerance. Read messages from incoming #UWyo President Edward Seidel &; Chief Diversity Officer Emily Monago: https://t.co/Ops75B9Ksb.\n\n#UWyoCoEd — (@) The school's chief diversity officer had a stated goal of "diversifying the faculty‚ staff‚ curriculum and programming" at the school to create an "inclusive campus environment." This included "diverse" recrutiment and retainment initiatives. The office also stated that it wished to solidify the school's commitment to expanding a diverse‚ inclusive‚ and equitable environment‚ which it claimed builds not only a better university‚ but a better "state‚ nation‚ and world."Both the House and Senate of Wyoming will finalize their budgets for March 4‚ 2024.Like Blaze News?
