Baggage handlers eventually got ahold of the birds and removed them from the flight. https://t.co/3lFYEOTuvL pic.twitter.com/7sEPXQudbT — ABC News (@ABC) May 27, 2025 Per USA TODAY: On Saturday May 24, two stowaway pigeons caused the delay on Delta Flight 2348, which was supposed to fly from Minneapolis to Madison, Wisconsin, according to passenger Thomas Caw, who was onboard the plane during the incident. “My guess is the pigeons were tired of flying and wanted snacks,” said Caw. “They didn’t know this flight to MSN is too short for Delta to offer beverage/snack service.” A passenger told a flight attendant that there was a bird on the plane, and soon, the pilot was announcing to everyone that a pigeon was on board the plane, and that “he had no experience with this situation,” according to Caw. A video recorded by Caw shows a man attempting to capture the bird with his jacket as it was flying through the cabin. The pigeons caused the flight to be delayed by 56 minutes, according to ABC News. Delta has since issued an apology. The other feathering stow-away was walking under the seat until a Delta baggage handler picked it up. The two pigeons led to a brief delay Saturday night. Caw told WCCO when he first boarded the flight, “everything seemed normal.” “Then I went to sit down and I overheard a passenger come up to the flight attendant who was standing right by where I was, and she said, ‘I think there’s a pigeon on this plane,’’” he reportedly recalled in reference to the first pigeon. Shortly after, the pilot told everyone onboard that there was another pigeon on the plane after the aircraft was moving toward the runway.

It specifies that using it, or accepting it, is optional. Purchases of precious metal would be exempt from sales taxes, but gold and silver could be used to pay other kinds of taxes. “We’ve really led the way on protecting your economic independence and your financial sovereignty,” said DeSantis. The governor argues metals are a protection against a falling dollar, which he sees as a risk given perennial deficit spending in Washington. He points out gold has tripled in value since 2015, while, because of inflation, paper money is buying less. “We have the ability to do that under the federal constitution,” DeSantis said. “We are the first large state to step up and to get this done,” he added. “This legislation will authorize money services, business like check cashers or PayPal, to transmit and accept payment in gold and silver – that means these precious metals can start functioning like real currency again, not just investment vehicles for the wealthy,” he continued. That deepened a Title VI investigation of reported antisemitic harassment and sex discrimination on campus, according to Education Secretary Linda McMahon. “Students must be assessed according to merit and accomplishment, not prejudged by the color of their skin,” McMahon said in a statement putting MIT and 44 other universities on notice. “We will not yield on this commitment.” Kornbluth’s move also comes amid President Trump’s ongoing battle with nearby Harvard University, which has refused to eliminate DEI programs and since lost more than $3 billion in federal funding. Trump earlier this year signed executive orders ending federal support for DEI programs and his administration has made the issue a red line in the legal fight with Harvard over funding cuts.
