Lawsuit Alleges Children Of Democrat Senator Drove Their Mother’s Former Personal Assistant To Suicide

A shocking lawsuit alleges the children of Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) drove their mother’s former gay personal assistant to suicide. Brandon O’Brien, 35, Nancy Bass Wyden’s former personal assistant, committed suicide in May. Bass Wyden is the owner of Manhattan’s Strand Bookstore. According to the New York Post, O’Brien frequently had the task of caring for the couple’s young kids from June 2022 to September 2024. Thomas Maltzeos, O’Brien’s husband, is suing Bass Wyden. Kids of Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden drove assistant to suicide with ‘sexually explicit’ behavior, homophobic slurs: lawsuit https://t.co/daMkMZwIy6 pic.twitter.com/kuni4sYR2Y — New York Post (@nypost) September 21, 2025 Further details from the New York Post: The disturbing behavior began in September 2022 when the couple’s then-10-year-old daughter allegedly exposed herself to O’Brien, making “sexually explicit” comments and asking about his “intimate life” during school drop-offs, O’Brien’s husband, Thomas Maltezos, alleged in court papers he filed against Bass Wyden and her company, Bass Real Estate LLC. But the mom — whose family founded the East Village bookshop nearly a century ago — allegedly did nothing about the behavior, Maltezos contended. Meanwhile, the Wydens’ teenage son berated O’Brien with homophobic slurs such as “f—-t” and “zest kitten,” and the boy said “his football team ‘would rape him,”‘ the suit claimed. The boy allegedly threw things at O’Brien and the mom once “maced her son to restrain him but inadvertently maced Mr. O’Brien,” according to the Manhattan Supreme Court papers. Some of the alleged abuse took place at Disney in front of Maltezos and his mother, the widower claimed. Lawyers for Bass Wyden have sought to have Maltezos’ lawsuit tossed, court records show. The lawsuit is “baseless and deeply misguided” and “riddled with false accusations,” a Bass Real Estate spokesperson said in a statement. “It appears to be a continued effort to deflect attention from O’Brien’s own serious misconduct, including a documented pattern of theft from those he once worked for.” O’Brien quit working for Bass Wyden in September 2024. Daily Mail reports that Bass Wyden accused O’Brien of stealing $650,000, mostly from credit cards, from her. She hired a private investigator to “try and bring down O’Brien,” Daily Mail stated. Plaintiff alleges daughter of Nancy Bass Wyden and U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) accused Plaintiff's since-deceased husband of stealing from Bass Wyden, incl with this message reproduced in Complaint. After O’Brien’s suicide his husband Maltzeos made an emotional tribute post. ‘It is with a shattered heart that I announce my beloved husband… died by suicide,’ he said ‘Brandon worked as an executive assistant and made every space better with his quiet grace and unwavering loyalty. I am completely heartbroken without him.’ NYPD investigators dropped their theft case against O’Brien in the wake of his suicide. Maltzeos’s lawyers Eric Baum and Reyna Lubin lambasted the wealthy family’s alleged behavior, saying: ‘The allegations against the senator’s wife are shocking, disturbing, and cruel — no person should ever be subject to this level of harassment, much less in the workplace.’ But Bass Wyden has denied the allegations made against her and her children, while again branding O’Brien a thief.

College Football Player Passes Away After Game Due To “Medical Complications”

A Mississippi college football player died following a game due to “medical complications.” Emanuell Cooks, a freshman offensive lineman for Mississippi Delta Community College, passed away after the game against Hinds Community College on Thursday. “Our entire Trojan family is devastated by this loss,” MDCC President Dr. Steven Jones said in a statement. “At this time, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Emanuell’s family, teammates, coaches, and friends. We will come together as a community to support one another through this tragedy,” the statement added. He appeared in all four games this season for Mississippi Delta (0-4). Misssissipi Delta, located in Moorhead, is scheduled to host Itawamba on Sept. 25. Mississippi Delta said counseling and support services are available for students, faculty and staff members. “While we as spectators are watching passionately and imagining ourselves as part of the game, it is the players who are giving their all physically,” Hinds President Dr. Stephen Vacik said in a statement. “Their safety is always more important than any outcome on the scoreboard, and when we lose a student-athlete in the prime of his life, it is a sobering reminder how precious our time here on Earth really is. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Hinds CC go out to Emanuell Cooks’ family as well as the entire MS Delta CC team, faculty, staff and administration. The offensive lineman is the latest young athlete to pass away. Fox News explained: Corey Adams, a freshman with the Ole Miss Rebels football team, was killed in a shooting in Tennessee in July, officials said. He was 18. Cincinnati freshman offensive lineman Jeremiah Kelly died unexpectedly at 18 years old this past April. Meanwhile, Hadden Kelly, a 17-year-old high school golfer, died in Georgia Monday after suddenly collapsing in a yard, Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith confirmed this week. DePaul University announced the death of Chase Stegall, son of former NFL player Milton Stegall, in early June. The student-run newspaper, The DePaulia, reported at the time that Stegall had been found dead “in his residence hall on the university’s Lincoln Park campus.” He was 20.

Turning Up the Evil Rhetoric

The media and Democrats continually blame Republicans and Conservatives for the vicious rhetoric which now precedes violence from the left. However, in case after case, it is the left calling political opponents terrorists, Nazis, fascists, threats to democracy. It’s not the right. Ilhan Omar’s Evil, Venomous Words Rep. Spin Cycle: They Really Can’t Help It, Can They? CNN, MSNBC Praise Erika Kirk Eulogy To Attack Trump

Commentators at CNN and MSNBC — both left-leaning networks — appeared to break form for just a few seconds in praising the new CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk, as she eulogized her late husband Charlie Kirk. For those who don’t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week’s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed. The life of Charlie Kirk, conservative commentator and TPUSA founder, was celebrated on Sunday just 11 days after his public assassination at a Utah Valley University campus event, and his newly-widowed wife Erika gave a eulogy that brought much of America to tears, offering forgiveness to the suspected assassin who’d robbed her of a husband and her two young children of their father. After noting that Charlie’s heart was truly in the fight to “save young men just like the one who took his life,” she added, ““That young man, that young man. On the cross, our Savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ That man, that young man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know, from the Gospel, is love and always love.” WATCH: Erika Kirk forgives the man who murdered her husband: “My husband Charlie…he wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life…that young man… I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do.” pic.twitter.com/Pd1yGRMRVw — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) September 21, 2025 The response to Ms. Kirk’s speech was overwhelming, crossing party lines and blowing away liberal and progressive commentators even on networks like CNN and MSNBC. NBC White House correspondent Vaughn Hillyard responded to the speech on MSNBC, saying, “I think what honestly I’ll take away from tonight is watching the weight of a woman, a mother, lose her husband. Most people cannot say they’ve experienced losing a spouse at this young of an age, and I don’t know who we are to suggest how somebody should respond in real time. One week after her husband’s passing, she went in front of a crowd of 40 to 50,000 people, people watching all over the world. And she delivered remarks in which she forgave the assassin that shot her husband and killed him.” “A remarkable moment because in so many ways, where America stands in 2025 is, how do we respond going forward? And the woman that just lost her husband stood there in front of the world and said, ‘I forgive,'” Hillyard added. WATCH: TFW you’re blown away by Erika Kirk’s remarks but HAVE to feed TDS brainworms to your MSNBC audience pic.twitter.com/GxytM7hOzh — Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) September 21, 2025 But the conversation did not stop there, as Ayman Mohideen jumped in to also praise Ms. Kirk — but he used her speech to attack President Trump for taking a different route. “So, when you weave all of that into a eulogy and in a moment where the country is in sorrow and in pain because of what just happened, there is that split screen. There is that disconnect between the grief that a mother who is just going to bury her husband, the father of her children, and a president who’s talking about the the politics of this moment,” Mohideen said. “And I think that’s what my takeaway was from that speech, you know, the opportunity for the president to try to heal and bring the country, as many had hoped he would, and not doing it in the way that many people would expect a president to do,” he complained. On CNN, Xochitl Hinojosa — who served as communications director for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) — said that Erika Kirk’s words could unite Americans across party lines. But she had to preface that assessment with a comparison to Trump, who she argued had not done that. “I think in times like this, especially when there is political violence, you need the president, regardless of who it is, to bring the country together. And that has not happened,” she said. “This was an opportunity for Trump to do that. He did not take that opportunity. The person who really did that was Erika Kirk. She came to the moment — she understood that people need to be brought together. She’s probably one of the only people besides Donald Trump who could do that. So much that she says … that she forgave the shooter. She also said, ‘The answer to hate is not hate,'” Hinojosa said. “She talked about love for our enemies. She talked about the First Amendment and the importance of the First Amendment. These are all things that should have come, you know, largely about bringing our country together, from our president,” she said again. “But instead it came from the widow of Charlie Kirk, which I think is, I mean, I don’t know how she did it. First of all, giving that speech, but also rising to the moment when our country needs leadership, when our country needs to hear those messages of coming together. It was the widow who did it.”

Precious Clip: Adorable Baby Donkey Nibbles Leaf In Perfect Fall Video

One baby donkey at the San Diego Zoo is totally ready for fall! Someone caught the most adorable footage of this sweet creature enjoying the autumn foliage. In fact, this little animal loved the fallen leaves so much, they put one in their mouth! In this hilarious clip, the baby donkey can be seen munching solemnly on a very large piece of autumn herbage. It seems that the animal started taking the leaf with them everywhere, almost like a blankie! This video included several shots of the cute critter chewing away in different locations. We can’t be entirely sure that it was the same leaf the whole time, but it certainly looked like it! @sandiegozoo Enjoy the fall foal-iage #sdzsafaripark #donkeytok #fallvibes ♬ original sound – gilmoregirlstok “Enjoy the fall foal-iage,” joked the zoo in their caption. They paired this baby donkey footage with an audio from Gilmore Girls, which completed the perfect autumn vibe of the video. Viewers absolutely loved seeing this adorable animal munching on a fall leaf! “Emotional support leaf,” joked one user in the comments. What kind of donkey is this? Screengrab from TikTok Some people were very curious as to what type of creature this baby donkey was. Unlike the darker-hued donkeys we’re used to seeing on farms, this animal was almost white. Additionally, they had a series of unusual black stripes on their legs! “Do they call this a zonkey or zule?” asked one user, who thought the foal might be part zebra. Another questioned, “What type of animal is this I’ve never seen one before.” Thankfully, the San Diego Zoo came through with answers in the comments. They explained that this little cutie was actually a Somali wild ass. We’re so glad the zoo decided to share such a sweet clip with us via social media! This baby donkey has definitely gotten us in the mood for autumn. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
