Group Encounters UPRIGHT CANINE at Mt. Pisgah‚ Oregon

A group of friends drive to Mt. Pisgah‚ near Eugene‚ Oregon to hang out and swim. They are walking back to the car when they encounter a huge dog that stands upright.I received the following account:"This happened around the year 2000. About a year after this took place‚ I started dating one of these friends‚ and that’s when I first heard about this “dog/wolf” story. I have since asked each friend (over years and miles apart) and they all remember the same encounter. Before my ex was even my BF‚ (let’s call him J)‚ he and our other friends were about 17-18 years old.At that age‚ I remember it being an adventure to find a place to smoke. “Let’s hike to ___ and puff!” (Ah good ole days‚ when we got away from our parents and planned a day around smoking)It was J and his his best friend B‚ and their girlfriends‚ S and M. The four of them decided to drive to Mt. Pisgah‚ a beautiful wooded area outside of Eugene‚ Oregon. It’s more of a hill‚ but it’s nature in its prime for sure. I’ve been out there many times growing up‚ and I know exactly what trail they were on (the main one that connects the parking lot to the river). They had driven in B’s little white sedan‚ parked in the parking lot‚ and then walked to the river. On the way to the river from the lot‚ there is a very small bridge that crosses a small creek (relevant for later). The group spent the day out there‚ swimming and puffing‚ puffing and swimming‚ just being typical Oregonian teens.I can imagine that hunger is what drove them to go home after a few hours‚ as the sun began to set - either activity alone is bound to get someone hungry‚ let alone both. So‚ they walked along the well-worn “main” dirt path to the parking lot. (This path has since been paved‚ according to Google Maps). It doesn’t take but 20 minutes or so for them to get back to the little footbridge by the parking lot that they had crossed when they hiked in.When they reached this small footbridge near the parking lot‚ B looked out into the vast field between them and the wooded mountain‚ and noticed a huge dog near the tree line‚ about 100 yards away (they all later described it as the biggest dog they had ever seen). The dog was just sitting there‚ not looking scary‚ just looking like a humongous friendly doggy. It was starting to get dark‚ but from M’s and J’s descriptions‚ (and the drawing she did for me later in 2005)‚ it was very shaggy and furry. I may even still have that notebook where she drew the dog thing‚ if I find it I’ll post it.My friends continued to walk across this small wooden bridge‚ and one of the girls screamed - the big dog was now on its hind legs‚ standing much closer than when they had seen it just a couple of seconds earlier. It had traversed most of the large field in the seconds it took them to get across this 10-ft long bridge.Whatever this thing was‚ it was fast‚ quiet and stealthy. My 4 friends ran to the car and they had the classic‚ cliche “I can’t get the key in!” because B was fumbling madly for the keys. At this point‚ the dog was standing (on its legs) at the very edge of the parking lot‚ looking at them. Still had the dog face‚ still had the dog body - standing up. They never saw it walking (on all 4 or just 2)‚ it was like every time they looked up it was just standing there‚ closer. As J had said‚ every time they looked up‚ it was closer but not moving. All of them recounted how surreal it was to see a dog standing on its hind legs. I don’t know if it ran for a few ticks and then stood up again at intervals in the field‚ but that’s the way they describe it. Many times I asked them‚ are you sure it wasn’t a bear? No. It definitely was a dog standing on its hind legs. A big dog that was stalking them. Also‚ this is in Lane County‚ Oregon in the year 2000‚ there are few if any bears out there. It would be odd but‚ then again I wasn’t there. The kids got into the car and sped off‚ leaving the Pisgah dog to his own business. I’ve never had a reason to doubt any of their stories (in fact‚ S doesn’t like to talk about the incident at all because it’s too creepy for her to recall)." - BBThe Alien Abduction Files: The Most Startling Cases of Human Alien Contact Ever ReportedThe Untold Story of Champ: A Social History of America's Loch Ness MonsterAngels: Who They Are‚ What They Do‚ and Why It MattersBeasts of BritainThe Killer Angels: The Classic Novel of the Civil War (Civil War Trilogy)Monsters Among Us: An Exploration of Otherworldly Bigfoots‚ Wolfmen‚ Portals‚ Phantoms‚ and Odd PhenomenaMonsters of West Virginia: Mysterious Creatures in the Mountain StateA Menagerie of Mysterious Beasts: Encounters with Cryptid CreaturesALIEN DISCLOSURE: EXPERIENCERS EXPOSE REALITY - AudiobookRegister a SNAP EBT CardTHE MEME HUMANOIDS: MODERN MYTHS OR REAL MONSTERS - AudiobookTry Audible PlusPHANTOMS &; MONSTERS READING LISTFeel Free to Post PHANTOMS &; MONSTERS DIRECT LINKS ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA &; WEBSITE. The Atlantic Melts Down at a Second Trump Term

The Atlantic Melts Down at a Second Trump Term

Even for the paranoia and hysteria that have become emblematic of Never Trumpers‚ the Trump-hating Atlantic magazine has outdone itself. Alerting readers to this sizable forthcoming physical issue of the magazine‚ there is a jump on the subject with an online version.  The terrified headline in capital letters: IF TRUMP WINS The intro warns darkly: A second Trump presidency won’t just mirror the first. It will be much worse. In The Atlantic’s January/February issue‚ two dozen writers warn what could happen if Donald Trump is re-elected‚ from destroying the rule of law to abandoning NATO and reshaping the international order. This special issue aims to define the stakes of the coming election‚ lay out in detail the dangers to all aspects of American life‚ and‚ as staff writer Tom Nichols argues‚ ‘counteract the complacency - or fatalism-that comes when trying to think about threats of this magnitude.’ Got that? The Biden presidency‚ which has brought on not one but two wars‚ rampant inflation‚ and the weaponization of the Department of Justice and FBI? No problems there for the editors. But a second Trump presidency? Where there were no wars in Israel and Ukraine‚ the economy hummed and the Justice Department was not prosecuting Trump’s opponents? O…M…G shrieks The Atlantic. The list of hysteria driven writers includes David Frum arguing a Trump second term “would plunge the country into a constitutional crisis not seen since the Civil War.” Barton Gellman frets about “what will happen if he again becomes the chief law-enforcement officer of the United States.” And writer Jennifer Senior is frantic about‚ yes‚ “the daily psychic toll of another Trump term.” Really. On and on- and on and on - goes this massive display of Trump Derangement Syndrome. There will be “unchecked misogyny” (this from an American Left that launched an all out political freak-out over the nomination to the Supreme Court of Amy Coney Barrett)‚ a “MAGA version of U.S. history‚” and‚ but of course‚ “a judiciary more loyal to Trump than to the Constitution.” (This would be as opposed to left-wing judges more loyal to leftism and Presidents Obama and Biden then the Constitution.) Then there’s fretting over “The Specter of Family Separation” at the border‚ the news that “The Climate Can’t Afford Another Trump Presidency”‚ and‚ laughably‚ a segment on “Is Journalism Ready?”. As Hunter Biden is indicted and House Republicans are uncovering the massive corruption of the Biden family influence peddling schemes The Atlantic writes a section on a looming “Corruption Unbound” in a Trump administration. Really! Then there’s the question of “Why Xi Wants Trump to Win.” No mention of all those Hunter Biden China ties. But amusingly The Atlantic salutes Biden for having “operated quietly” with China.  And‚ of course‚ there is a laughable section titled “Loyalists‚ Lapdogs‚ and Cronies.” In which the magazine frets about the return of Trumpers Stephen Miller and Ric Grenell in domestic and foreign policy positions. Grenell‚ a longtime foreign policy activist‚ former Ambassador to Germany and Acting Director of National Intelligence terrifies The Atlantic that he might be the next Secretary of State. There is no mention that all presidents surround themselves with supportive allies and staff. There’s more. As mentioned‚ this considerable fretting over what happens “If Trump Wins” goes on and on. But make no mistake. We are mere weeks from the official start of the 2024 election. An election in which‚ as this is written‚ the polls repeatedly show Trump winning the GOP nomination in a landslide‚ and going on to defeat President Biden after that. If all of that is accurate brace yourself for a cosmic meltdown in the leftwing media. The hysteria cited in this space today is from but one publication - The Atlantic. Add in all the rest of the lib media - the broadcast networks‚ CNN‚ MSNBC‚ The New York Times‚ The Washington Post and more and what lies ahead is an avalanche of media hysteria.  Buckle in.

'Useful idiots': Bill Maher blasts students at Harvard and Penn for being 'Team Hamas'

Bill Maher‚ host of "Real Time‚" blasted universities such as Penn and Harvard for siding with Hamas and playing host to students he characterized as "useful idiots." Maher's comments come as Harvard University President Claudine Gay recently appeared before Congress to account for the sudden rise in anti-Semitism on campus.Maher kicked off the segment with FIRE CEO Greg Lukianoff‚ asking him about the organization's ranking system of colleges and universities concerning free speech. Harvard and Penn reportedly appear at the bottom of a list of 250 schools throughout the U.S. "So these are two of the colleges who are now on Team Hamas‚" Maher said. "Is that a coincidence? Or what is the connection?"Fox News Digital reported that Maher listed off a series of slogans heard during pro-Palestinian rallies on school campuses‚ including "intifada‚" which the host described as a vague term analogous to "jihad." However‚ he went on to mention the use of the phrase‚ "From the river to the sea‚" which he suggested was "a little more genocide-y." "But‚ you know‚ let's give the benefit of the doubt - that could be 'Well‚ we just want the Jews to move and not die‚'" Maher said. "And then there's the phrase 'by any means necessary.' Okay‚ now I'm kinda peeing my pants."Concerning the term "intifada‚" Lukianoff mentioned that the term is "absolutely protected" by free speech‚ but he qualified his statement by saying that it could also be used as a threat or harassment‚ which is when it can become a problem."It was kind of embarrassing to watch these university presidents of the top institutions in the country not being able to answer that clearly‚" Lukianoff said. "What irks me is that look‚ I'm always going to be on the side ‘as far as you can push free speech‚'" Maher said. "What bothers me is the double standard… Say they don't want to say ‘Kill the Jews‚’ but I certainly have heard chanted ‘F**k the Jews‚ f**k the Jews.’""I cannot think of any other group that you can say ‘f**k the blank' and have it be acceptable‚" Maher added.Later on in the segment‚ Maher referred to the college students at these prestigious universities as "useful idiots‚" going on to say that the "bigger scandal here is that these are the biggest‚ most esteemed colleges in the country and they've raised a bunch of f**king idiots.""Do I really think they want to wipe out the Jews? I don't‚ but‚ you know‚ they live by these buzzwords and what they read on TikTok‚" Maher continued. "They want to be an ‘ally‚’ an ‘ally’ of people who have more melanin and less money. That's what you have to be‚ an ally. Don't think of it more than that."Maher did not stop there. He continued by jabbing at his "dear liberal friends" who are glued to "MSNBC" and read "The New York Times‚" who have consistently dismissed what has been playing out on college campuses in recent years."If anything good that has come out of this‚ it's that now you see what we've been talking about. We were not making it up!" Maher said.Fox News Digital reported that they reached out to Harvard and Penn for comment on Maher's claims‚ but they have not yet responded.Like Blaze News? Principal at elite NYC middle school encourages students to 'make their own conclusions' about Hamas

The principal at New York City's Trinity Middle School reportedly told parents that he could not be sure that Hamas was a "terrorist organization‚" going on to suggest that the students should make their own determinations about the Palestinian group. Jason Ford's comments about the status of Hamas comes after the Palestinian group launched a surprise attack against Israel on October 7‚ killing 1‚200 people and abducting 240 more. The Jewish state retaliated by declaring war‚ executing ground and air missions in Gaza. While the two sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire at the end of last month‚ the fighting has resumed. The conflict in the Middle East has resulted in a cultural battle in the West‚ with students in colleges and universities across the U.S. siding with Hamas and other pro-Palestinian causes. Some of them have even called for violence against Jewish people. The New York Post reported that Ford‚ who has worked at the $64‚000 per year private school since 2017‚ made his remarks to parents during a Q&;A session last month. One parent asked: "Are you clear with the kids that Hamas is a terrorist organization? You mentioned they're a group." The recording of the session was apparently obtained by the Post.Ford responded to the parent by stating that "language is important. I have talked to them and said there are ways in which Hamas is viewed as a terrorist organization‚ part of it is I want it to be the case that they get to make their own conclusions."However‚ it is uncertain how middle school children are supposed to effectively make determinations about a complex conflict such as the war between Israel and Hamas. Blaze News reported last month that many young people in the U.S. derive many of their anti-Israel positions from TikTok and Instagram‚ which raises questions about the influence of these social media platforms on middle school children. While Ford's comment passed without incident‚ one parent noted that "[t]his isn't a close call‚" seeming to suggest that designating Hamas as a terrorist organization is not up for debate. A representative for the school said that Trinity Middle School was "clear in its condemnation of Hamas and the attacks on October 7‚ 2023." It is unclear why Ford was not forthcoming with the school's policy during the parent meeting. The Post noted that the school did not respond to whether they would allow their students to take the same interpretive approach to other groups‚ such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS.The report mentioned that Ford did not immediately respond to request for comment.Like Blaze News? Valheim meets The Witcher in this gorgeous dark fantasy sandbox game

Valheim proves how wonderfully regional folklore and mythology can provide a setting for a base-building survival sandbox game. As Iron Gate did with its Viking setting‚ so developer Emberstorm Entertainment looks to do in its new sandbox game Reka with Slavic folklore; more specifically‚ the tale of the Baba Jaga‚ the legendary witch of the forests known for her walking hut‚ who's often an inspiration for antagonistic figures in games such as The Witcher 3.
