Former President Donald Trump joined a growing number of Republican political leaders on Thursday in expressing support for the state of Texas in its escalating battle with the Biden administration to secure its southern border. “Joe Biden has surrendered our Border‚ and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States‚” Trump said in a lengthy statement. “Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught‚ Biden is‚ unbelievably‚ fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas‚ so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security‚ Public Safety‚ and Public Health Catastrophe‚ Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution‚ and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.” “We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals‚ and to remove them back across the Border‚” he continued. “All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety‚ Security‚ and Sovereignty of Texas‚ and of the American people. When I am President‚ on Day One‚ instead of fighting Texas‚ I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion‚ Seal the Border‚ and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home.” The border was far more secure under Trump than it has been under President Joe Biden‚ with Border Patrol averaging around 500‚000 illegal alien apprehensions most years under Trump’s watch‚ except for Fiscal Year 2019 when more than 850‚000 illegal aliens were apprehended. So far the Biden Department of Homeland Security has made over 5 million apprehensions. Abbott’s standoff with the Biden administration has gained the support of dozens of his fellow GOP governors. Earlier in the day‚ 25 Republican governors announced their solidarity with Abbott and the state of Texas. Multiple Republican states have been sending national guard soldiers and law enforcement officers to Texas for years to assist the state in its efforts. Early examples of this include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sending state law enforcement officers to Texas in 2021 and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson sending in national guard troops the same year. Florida has since sent significantly greater resources to Texas. Other governors‚ like North Dakota’s Doug Burgum and Virginia’s Glenn Youngkin‚ also pledged last year to send national guard soldiers to Texas. In total‚ more than a dozen Republican states have sent national guard troops to help with the crisis at the border under Biden.

NASHVILLE‚ Tenn. — Six pro-lifers targeted by the Biden administration sang hymns and urged peace at an abortion facility in Tennessee during a 2021 protest for which they face 11 years in prison‚ according to videos shown in federal court on Thursday. The videos were played during the second day of the trial of the six pro-lifers in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee at the Fred D. Thompson courthouse in Nashville. The pro-lifers are charged by the Department of Justice with violating the FACE Act and conspiring against civil rights‚ a charge that could lead to 11 years in prison. The charges stem from a protest that took place in a hallway outside of a Mount Juliet abortion provider on March 5‚ 2021. On that day‚ a group of demonstrators gathered on the second floor of an office building in the hallway outside the Carafem Health Center Clinic. The group prayed‚ sang hymns‚ and urged women showing up to the clinic to not get abortions. Those on trial are Chet Gallagher‚ Coleman Boyd‚ Heather Idoni‚ Cal Zastrow‚ Paul Vaughn‚ and Dennis Green. Several of the defendants who spoke briefly with The Daily Wire after the lunch recess of the trial on Thursday were in good spirits‚ pointing to their Christian faith. Caroline Davis‚ who was one of those arrested at Carafem‚ took a plea deal earlier this year and agreed to testify for the government. During her testimony‚ the prosecution played videos of what happened at Carafem during the protest. Some of the videos showed the group singing songs like “Holy‚ Holy‚ Holy‚” and “Onward Christian Soldiers‚” while others showed members of the group talking to police. Another video showed one participant telling another to speak “in love” to a man with his girlfriend who had shown up at Carafem and that someone’s “baby is a gift from God.” Gallagher was on video telling those present on March 5 to conduct themselves peacefully and to make sure to not do any property damage. The group hoped to encounter women heading into Carafem for abortions and persuade them to keep their unborn children. During her testimony‚ Davis said that she had been told about the “Rescue” planned for Carafem and wanted to attend. A “Rescue” is where the pro-lifers attempt to speak with women and encourage them to not go through with an abortion. Davis claimed that she had a change of heart about attending the Rescue and that her “rational side” was “in the toilet” at the time of her participation. She said that she changed her mind “over time” and that being indicted by the federal government “terrified” her. When she was cross-examined by Jodie Bell‚ Gallagher’s lawyer‚ Davis became repeatedly exasperated with the questions‚ especially when asked about how many times she met with the government before the trial. When asked about a previous meeting with the prosecution and about how long it was‚ she said‚ “I have a busy life” and replied “Oh my God‚” when asked about another meeting with the government. At one point‚ Judge Aleta Trauger told her to just answer the question and not add any commentary to her answers. She had spent 28 hours in jail after being arrested for trespassing at Carafem. No one present at Carafem was arrested for assault or any assault-related charge. Davis said the most violence she saw was when a police officer moved two pro-lifers aside when taking a woman down the hallway to the abortion facility. Aso during cross examination‚ the prosecution objected to a defense lawyer using the phrase “rescue babies‚” an objection which was sustained by Trauger. Davis will be further cross-examined on Friday. For the second straight day‚ the court gallery was packed with friends and family of the defendants. The trial is expected to last into next week.

The U.S. secretly warned the Islamic Republic of Iran earlier this month that ISIS was planning to carry out a terrorist attack inside of the country‚ a plan that Iran failed to stop‚ which resulted in the deaths of 84 Iranians with hundreds more being injured. The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. intelligence discovered the plot from one of ISIS’ affiliates‚ ISIS-K‚ to conduct suicide bombings in the southeastern town of Kerman. The information that was relayed to Iran was specific enough that Iran could have stopped the attack or at least significantly reduced its effectiveness. “Prior to ISIS’s terrorist attack on January 3‚ 2024‚ in Kerman‚ Iran‚ the U.S. government provided Iran with a private warning that there was a terrorist threat within Iranian borders‚” a U.S. official said. “The U.S. government followed a longstanding ‘duty to warn’ policy that has been implemented across administrations to warn governments against potential lethal threats. We provide these warnings in part because we do not want to see innocent lives lost in terror attacks.” The suicide bombings targeted a large crowd that was commemorating the anniversary of the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF) Qassem Soleiman‚ who U.S. forces killed in January 2020. Iran appears to have ignored the warning from the U.S.‚ the report said‚ as it failed to stop the attack and instead falsely suggested that the U.S. and Israel were linked to the ISIS terrorists. In an attempt to save face and avoid the wrath of the Iranian people‚ the top IRGC commander‚ Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami‚ claimed at a funeral for the victims that ISIS “has disappeared nowadays” and that Islamic terrorists “only act as mercenaries” for the U.S. and Israeli‚ the report said. ISIS-K has grown significantly stronger in the region thanks to President Joe Biden’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan in 2021 and is now stronger than Al-Qaeda‚ the report said.
