‘We’re Setting It Up’: President Trump Confirms Plans To Meet With Vladimir Putin

There’s been a lot of speculation since President Donald Trump’s massive victory in November regarding how he will handle the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. This week, he said during an event at his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida that he is in talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to discuss issues that impact their respective nations. JUST IN: US President Trump says he is setting up a meeting with Russian President Putin. “He want’s to meet and we’re setting it up.” pic.twitter.com/cTJLJwAwW8 — BRICS News (@BRICSinfo) January 10, 2025 As The Hill reported: “He wants to meet. And we’re setting it up,” Trump told Fox News’s Peter Doocy at Mar-a-Lago during a meeting with Republican governors. Trump noted he’s had “a lot of communication” with Chinese President Xi Jinping and has spoken with numerous other world leaders. But he has yet to speak with Putin. “But President Putin wants to meet. He’s said that even publicly, and we have to get that war over with. That’s a bloody mess,” Trump said of the war in Ukraine. Trump’s policy vis-a-vis the Russia-Ukraine situation has sparked significant social media speculation in the days leading up to his return to the White House: Trump met Zelensky today and the boss in the conversation is clear. Trump reiterates that the war shouldn’t have happened, and vows to end it. Meanwhile dems are signing bombs and writing cheques. Not just America needs Trump in November, the world, for the sake of peace. pic.twitter.com/OTXSV39iZU — Tommy Robinson (@TRobinsonNewEra) September 27, 2024 Are you waiting for the meeting of President Putin and President Trump? pic.twitter.com/0uATOcDH6n — Russia is not Enemy (@RussiaIsntEnemy) January 10, 2025 If anyone can work things out with Putin so that everyone wins in this situation, it’s Trump! — Brutus (@21Quebec) January 10, 2025 Even Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy seems to have far more confidence in Trump’s ability to restore peace to the region than he has shown during the Biden administration. As the Associated Press reported last week: “The ‘hot’ stage of the war can end quite quickly, if Trump is strong in his position,” Zelenskyy said in a Ukrainian television interview late Thursday, referring to fighting on the battlefield. “I believe (Trump) is strong and unpredictable. I would very much like President Trump’s unpredictability to be directed primarily toward the Russian Federation,” Zelenskyy said. Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20, hasn’t publicly fleshed out his policy on Ukraine, but his previous comments have put a question mark over whether the United States will continue to be Ukraine’s biggest — and most important — military backer. Here’s a clip of Zelenskyy’s recent remarks: Zelensky claims peace is now a real possibility thanks to Trump… but wait, wasn’t Trump supposed to start World War 3? pic.twitter.com/bD16gtKtUA — Sir Doge of the Coin (@dogeofficialceo) January 5, 2025

Italian PM Meloni: President Trump’s Greenland Talk Sends ‘A Message’ To Certain Other Countries

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has attracted international attention for her generally conservative ideology and frequent defense of President Donald Trump. This week, she released a statement addressing Trump’s recent remarks about the U.S. possibly obtaining control of Greenland. Instead of seeing it as a direct threat to Greenland, as well as the Danish government that currently controls it, Meloni thinks the rhetoric is part of a larger warning to other nations. According to The Hill: “I think we can exclude that the United States in the coming years will try to use force to annex territory that interests it,” Meloni said during an annual press conference, according to The Associated Press. Instead, she concluded that his statements were “a message to some other big global players more than any hostile claim over these countries.” Meloni visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida last week. On Thursday, she affirmed that Trump’s remarks about Greenland were warnings against “Chinese pragmatism” in a “long-distance debate between great powers.” Yet, the former president didn’t completely rule out the use of military force on foreign territories. “I am not going to commit to that. It might be that you have to do something,” Trump said during a Tuesday press conference when asked about the use of force. Trump’s Greenland talk has attracted significant attention on social media: If Trump succeeds in annexing Canada to the US and buying Greenland from Denmark: 1-The US would become the biggest nation by area 21.9 million km2 (Russia is 17km2) 2-The US population would become 381,600,000 (still in 3rd) 3-The Panama Canal would add$5b annual revenue pic.twitter.com/5ySrX6wInQ — Canaaknight (@CanaaKnight) December 25, 2024 President Trump on Don Jr.’s trip to Greenland: pic.twitter.com/ck7oTEN6Cw — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) January 7, 2025 Greenland is sooooo going to make a deal with Trump! What about Canada? pic.twitter.com/mww5atDqHq — Contrarian (@ContrarianTribe) January 10, 2025 A number of prominent U.S. officials have already signaled at least some level of support for Trump’s proposal, including U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). As The Texas Tribune reported: “The United States acquiring Greenland is a very, very good idea,” Cruz said. “To be clear, Trump talked about this his first term in office and at the time, a lot of people, particularly the media, dismissed it. They said, oh it’s Trump talking. It’s just some crazy idea. But I’ll tell you acquiring Greenland has enormous advantages to the United States.” Cruz, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the likeliest way to acquire Greenland would be to buy it, though the would-be price is unclear. Cruz pointed out the U.S. bought the Louisiana Purchase from France and Alaska from Russia. He did not discuss a military operation to take Greenland and said there would most likely need to be a referendum among Greenlanders. He noted during an interview with ABC News that “Anything can be not for sale until it suddenly is.” “We bought Alaska, and it was dismissed at the time as Seward’s Folly,” Cruz said, referring to then-Secretary of State William Seward. Cruz is not the only senator who has expressed openness to buying Greenland. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pennsylvania, also compared the idea to the Louisiana Purchase, saying it’s an idea worth hearing out. “There’s a lot of talk about Greenland, for example, and there’s a lot of freak-outs and of course I would never support taking it by force, but I do think it’s a responsible conversation,” Fetterman said in a Tuesday interview with Fox News. “If they were open to acquiring it — whether just buying it outright — I mean if anyone thinks that’s bonkers it’s like, well, remember the Louisiana Purchase?” Here’s a clip of Trump’s recent remarks on the topic: I am going to be building a New America. One where Canada and Greenland will be ours, I will regain control of the Panama Canal, and rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America! I will Make America Great Again! pic.twitter.com/vxcGMWYqAg — Donald J. Trump – Parody (@realDonParody) January 7, 2025

President Trump Opens Up About His Chat With Obama At Carter’s Funeral: ‘It Did Look Very Friendly’

Despite a long history of political animosity between the two men, President Donald Trump and Barack Obama appeared downright chummy when they sat next to each other earlier this week. One of the many headlines to emerge from Jimmy Carter’s high-profile funeral was the interaction between Trump and Obama, which included smiles and a conversation. NOW – Trump and Obama at Jimmy Carter’s funeral.pic.twitter.com/EITlH8Indq — Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) January 9, 2025 Trump later added to the discussion, as The Hill reported: “It did look very friendly, I must say,” he told Fox News’s senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy, ahead of his meeting with Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. “I didn’t realize how friendly it looked. I saw it on your wonderful network, just a little while ago before I came in and I said ‘Boy, they look like two people that like each other,’” he added. “And we probably do.” The two surprisingly laughed and smiled while sitting next to one another at the service following a contentious election season and their past relationship — including Trump falsely accusing his predecessor of spying on his 2016 campaign and not being born in the U.S. “We have little different philosophies, right?” Trump said Thursday. “I don’t know, we just got along.” In addition to several posts speculating about what the two men discussed, the scene sparked a number of other thoughts among social media users: I really want to hear what President Trump said to Obama to make him laugh at a funeral. He probably asked, “where’s Big Mike?”pic.twitter.com/xy0YhALY4y — (@LudisCharta) January 9, 2025 Trump and Obama at Jimmy Carters funeral. pic.twitter.com/Cf1HPFTqsa — Tony Clifton (@MrFadedGlory10) January 9, 2025 Kamala Harris seems TICKED that President Trump and Obama are speaking at Carter’s funeral Nobody wants to talk to Kamala, as usual. pic.twitter.com/J4lE2J8CAX — Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) January 9, 2025 Iconic seating arrangement for the Carter Funeral. 5 Presidents. She is seated in front of Donald Trump, Obama, Bush and Clinton. pic.twitter.com/47IZ3183jq — Andy Ngo (@MrAndyNgo) January 9, 2025 As Fox News reported, one body language expert broke down not only the interaction between Trump and Obama, but also the reactions of those seated around them at the funeral: During the 2024 campaign cycle, Americans witnessed what appeared to be no love lost between President-elect Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama. However, at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral the two recent presidents appeared to be enjoying each other’s company and largely ignored other dignitaries arriving around them, including Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden. Susan Constantine, a communication and body language expert, said Harris came off “as cool as could be.” “‘Ice Princess’ all the way around. When she was walking she was very robotic. I call that ‘rigidity’ when we see that kind of soldier-like stance.” Harris deliberately averted eye contact with Trump, in a sign of disdain. The tension of her facial expression, with pursed lips tightened toward the center showed there was “no love lost” between the two 2024 contenders. “She intentionally walked past him and a stride of arrogance and confidence that did not look well on her,” Constantine said. “[It] tells me that she walked in there with a chip on her shoulder.” Here’s some additional commentary regarding the ceremony:

REPORT: President Trump Plans to Sign 100 Executive Orders on Day One!

Last night, President Trump met with the Senate GOP after paying respects to Jimmy Carter at the Capitol. During the meeting, President Trump reportedly discussed plans to execute a whopping 100 individual executive orders on his first day in office. According to Axios, those executive orders include reinstating Title 42, which would help stem the flow of illegal immigrants and expedite deportations. Another executive order on the menu is enforcing part of the Immigration and Nationality act to give state and local law enforcement more power to deport illegal aliens. Check it out: TRUMP MAY SIGN 100 EXECUTIVE ORDERS ON DAY 1 Trump revealed plans for 100 executive orders, focusing on immigration and border control, during a Senate meeting. Why it matters: While Congress debates the next moves on their own aggressive legislative plans, Trump let them know he is ready to roll — especially on immigration. Senators were given previews of some of what they were told would be 100 executive orders, two sources who were in the room told Axios. Stephen Miller, Trump’s longtime immigration adviser, dove into how they intend to use executive power to address the border and immigration starting Day 1. It’s unclear if all will be technical executive orders, or more broadly executive actions taken by Trump or federal agencies. The Washington Examiner added: President-elect Donald Trump and his advisers told Republican senators that the incoming administration is working on 100 executive orders that will be enacted once Trump is sworn into office. The orders will focus on immigration, a topic Trump has been adamant about fixing while campaigning for the presidency. “He says he has almost 100 executive orders that will go a long way to securing the border again and also put the energy sector back in play,” Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) said Thursday on Fox & Friends. However, the Oklahoma senator also cautioned that Trump’s executive orders could be reversed or undone if they aren’t backed up by congressional action. “As he said, it’s not permanent,” Mullin said of the orders. “I’d like reconciliation so we can start making this up into legislation, so we can move forward.” Axios reported that the incoming administration intends to reinstate Title 42, a policy Trump enacted during the COVID-19 pandemic to expel migrants at the southern border. President Joe Biden ended the policy in May 2023. Separately, House Republicans are also working on legislation that would require asylum-seekers to “Remain in Mexico” until their court dates in the United States. Biden also ended the policy that was enacted under Trump’s first administration. Let’s go, Mr. President! We can’t wait to have you back!

Congressman Introduces Bill to ABOLISH The IRS & Federal Income Tax

This is big news. Republican Rep. Buddy Carter has just introduced a bill that would abolish the IRS and the federal income tax. Furthermore, it would replace the funding through a new spending tax that would require illegal immigrants to pay taxes. Check it out: BREAKING: Rep. Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) will introduce the FairTax Act of 2025 on Thursday. The bill, obtained exclusively by the Washington Examiner, seeks to abolish the IRS and repeal the federal income tax. If signed into law, the FairTax Act would levy a tax on spending itself, “capturing the underground economy, tourism dollars, and purchases made by illegal immigrants,” according to a fact sheet from Carter’s office. “The FairTax will have widespread benefits throughout our economy, not the least of which is forcing illegal immigrants to pay their fair share in taxes,” Carter said in an exclusive statement to the Washington Examiner. “This will eliminate instances of illegal immigrants using taxpayer-funded resources without paying into the system while also empowering Americans to choose their tax rate. “I’m all for the repatriation of illegal immigrants; but, as long as they’re here, they should be taxed,” the Georgia Republican added. What do you think? Do you support this idea? Some people on X seem to back Rep. Carter’s proposal: I am so behind this! — Mamatoshi (@ma_ma_toshi) January 10, 2025 It’s about time someone made this move. Whether or not it passes, it sends a powerful message that Americans are tired of IRS overreach. — Faxan (@FaxanFM) January 10, 2025 But, others are more skeptical: Hmmm…I’d rather deport all illegal immigrants. This seems like a backhanded way to make people support keeping them here! — JKash MAGA Queen (@JKash000) January 10, 2025 Actually just deport them all and have a flat user tax and tariffs! — RealYesToTheUS (@Supportarg10161) January 10, 2025 Let us know your thoughts in the comments and please be sure to share this article…

IT’S OVER: Trump Sentenced to ‘Unconditional Discharge’ in New York

Donald Trump’s legal case in New York concluded Friday when Judge Juan Merchan sentenced him to “unconditional discharge” after being found guilty on falsifying business records. “After careful analysis, this court determined only lawful sentence that permits entry of judgment of conviction is an unconditional discharge,” Merchan said Friday. “At this time, I impose that sentence to cover all 34 counts.”  Legal Scholar @JonathanTurley: "The fact is that this is NOT a criminal case, in my view, because there is NO underlying crime. Bragg took a dead misdemeanor, zapped it back into life as this pile of felonies… and he was only able to do that by this enabling judge." pic.twitter.com/2aAYkizD9u— Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) January 10, 2025 “Sir, I wish you Godspeed as you assume your second term in office,” the judge added. “This is a great embarrassment to the state of New York,” fired back the President-Elect. “And I would just like to explain that I was treated very, very unfairly. And I thank you very much.” After the hearing, Trump commented on the sentence via Truth Social. “The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt. After spending tens of millions of dollars, wasting over 6 years of obsessive work that should have been spent on protecting New Yorkers from violent, rampant crime that is destroying the City and State, coordinating with the Biden/Harris Department of Injustice in lawless Weaponization, and bringing completely baseless, illegal, and fake charges against your 45th and 47th President, ME, I was given an UNCONDITIONAL DISCHARGE,” Trump posted.
