Jeremy Renner Reflects On Year Of Recovery: ‘No One Ever Told Me That I Was Gonna Get Better’

Jeremy Renner reflected on the year of recovery he’s had following his near-fatal snow plow accident‚ saying no one told him that he was “gonna get better.” The 53-year-old actor recently talked about the life-threatening injuries he sustained on January 1‚ 2023‚ near his Nevada home‚ revealing‚ “Not one doctor‚ early on‚ said ‘You’re gonna pull through‚ you’re gonna be able to see again‚ you’re gonna be able to walk again‚ you’re gonna be able to breathe right‚ you’re gonna be able to talk‚'” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “No one gave me anything‚” he added. “I think they were all communicating with my family. And I feel like if they didn’t tell me it must have been pretty bleak.” Jeremy Renner on how he’s doing after his snowplow accident: “A few days after the anniversary of the accident‚ my daughter and I were just looking at each other like: How far we’ve come. What a wonderful celebration” https://t.co/2cYqsZJsRY — The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 7‚ 2024 The Marvel star said when he heard there would be limitations to his recovery‚ it only fueled him to get back on his feet. Renner has undergone extensive therapy for the last year after his body was nearly crushed under a 14‚300-pound snowcat‚ resulting in more than 30 broken bones. “I love that the doctor says‚ ‘this guy’s not gonna walk again‚ or if he does‚ it’ll be in two years and he’s gonna walk funny‚'” Renner said. “I love when people say this. Even my own physical therapist is like‚ ‘You know what‚ you’re never gonna be able to run under a five-second 40‚’ I’m like‚ ‘F*** you‚ it’s going to happen‚ I’m gonna do it in six months‚ watch this.'” “I love when somebody tells me that — it’s just gonna give me more energy to do it and do it even better‚” he added. “I already challenge myself anyway‚ and that’s also part of my recovery‚ as a competitor.” At one point in the interview‚ he called the accident a “wonderful blessing.” “Dying and coming back. I got that time out in life‚ I got to put pause on life‚ and go really live life‚” Renner said. “And [I think]‚ how can I give this to people? I think we had a little bit of it in COVID‚ right? There was a global epidemic going on but the silver lining in that is like we got to put pause on something‚ we got to stop and chill out‚ and ask what has value in our lives.” “A little bit more extreme version of that is dying and coming back‚” he added. “There’s a wonderful gift in that‚ if you can hang on that superpower of [realizing] what has real value in our lives.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP He also discussed his promise to his young daughter‚ Ava‚ after the accident. “Early on‚ I told her to wait for me‚ because she saw me busted up with 38 broken bones.” “I said‚ ‘If you wait for me‚ I promise you I’ll get better‚'” he added. “I had somebody to get better for — this little girl…” Related: Jeremy Renner Gives Surprising Answer When Asked If He’s Changed Since Near-Fatal Snow Plow Accident

‘So Patriotic’: Country Music Mourns Toby Keith‚ One Of The Greats

The world lost a legend on February 5 when country star Toby Keith’s family announced that he had died following a battle with stomach cancer. The death of a celebrity always inspires a lot of reflection and public mourning‚ but for some reason losing the “Beer For My Horses” singer-songwriter at the age of 62 hit everyone in the community a little harder.  Maybe it was because he was one of the last unapologetically patriotic country artists in a genre that’s been slowly phasing out those sentiments for years. Maybe it has something to do with how much he respected the armed forces. Or perhaps it’s because his three decades worth of songs are so catchy.  It’s likely a combination of all these factors‚ and more. Kevin Winter/ACMA2014/Getty Images for ACM The singer was known for hit songs such as‚ “How Do You Like Me Now?” and “As Good as I Once Was‚” but more than that‚ he’ll be remembered for celebrating and performing for our nation’s armed forces. One X tribute from U.S. Marine Corps veteran and podcast host Leigh Wolf described one of his encounters with Keith. “‘Toby Keith is here.’ Words that spread through Camp Leatherneck‚ Afghanistan like wildfire. Everyone knew the USO sent acts to bases to perform‚ but Toby Keith was something special‚” he wrote on X. “In the midst of war‚ a slice of home. Forever grateful to a man who had everything but still took time to come see us and give us a reprieve from the grind of combat operations. Rest in peace sir.” Then there’s the story about Keith performing for U.S. troops in Afghanistan in 2008 when the military base he was singing at came under fire. Mortar fire exploded on the base right in the middle of the song “Weed With Willie‚” per Today. After taking cover for about an hour with the troops‚ Keith apparently went back out and finished the show. Mike Theiler/USO via Getty Images Incidents like this help explain why just after Keith’s death was announced on Tuesday morning‚ the tributes to the country singer started pouring in. They came from both fans and from other big names in the country sphere. “Our self titled debuts came out on the same day‚ April 20‚ 1993… Toby and I spent quite a bit of time together early in our careers‚” fellow country star Tim McGraw shared on Instagram. “We had a lot of good times and conversations about what we wanted out of our careers and our lives. He was a maverick. He did things his way‚ on his terms‚ a true artist. I always have and always will have tremendous respect for his artistry‚ dedication and fearlessness to do his thing.” “We all will miss you‚ brother‚” he added. The musical duo Brooks &; Dunn each shared their separate thoughts on Keith with a lengthy Instagram post. L. Cohen/WireImage for J Records “A troubadour gone too soon‚” Dunn wrote. “We played together‚ we sang together. He was a friend‚ ornery‚ rough‚ tough‚ kind and loyal… if he liked you. A rascal‚ an outlaw with a big heart. He was opinionated‚ usually his way or the highway. A patriot that acted‚ didn’t just talk it. He was a loyal husband and proud loving father. He was a big man‚ a fighter… in the end life wins. Give ‘em hell up there my friend !!! Our love‚ prayers and condolences go out to his lovely wife Tricia‚ daughters Krystal‚ and Shelley and son Stelen.” Brooks wrote‚ “Waking up to losing Toby wakes up a lot of memories and realities – I remember the first time we actually met and talked – he was wearing a blue leather suit – we all wore horrible clothes back then – we got along from the beginning – he called “a spade a spade” plain and simple — always – we asked him to come on tour with us somewhere in the late ‘90s‚ along with Keith Urban‚ and I’ll never forget after our first show together‚ he said “We’ve got to find a place to play” …after that we would go find a house band after every show and burn ‘til the flame was gone” He continued‚ saying the singer was “a relentless participant in every aspect of his life – performing‚ writing‚ golf‚ hanging with his friends‚ along with his dedication to the military and the Red White and Blue. But he always put his loyalty and love of God and family first – He was one of those guys I just assumed would always be there – HOF Cowboy Heart – RIP Big Man.”  Country legend Tanya Tucker weighed in‚ writing‚ “My heart is bleeding for @tobykeith and his family. He was so kind and his music meant so much. He was so patriotic‚ loved his country and Loved his fans! He was a great warrior right up until last night. Now he’s in Gods army… My thoughts and everything I can muster goes to his wife and family in hopes that he gives them the strength they’re gonna need to move forward and get through this tragedy! She added‚ “Sleep well my friend! It sure won’t be the same without you!” Luke Bryan wrote‚ “An iconic artist and a great man. Your songs turn every room into a good time.” Lester Cohen/Getty Images for dcp Dolly Parton also shared a message of mourning‚ writing‚ “It’s always hard when we lose our brothers and sisters in country music. Toby Keith was one of the greats in every way. He will be missed but his music and legacy will live on.” “Waking up to the terrible news that our friend‚ and legend @tobykeith has passed away from cancer. He was a true Patriot‚ a first class singer/songwriter‚ and a bigger than life kind of guy. He will be greatly missed‚” singer John Rich shared. “Toby Keith was a true trail blazer. Authentic and heartfelt but always with a wink ‘til the end. He was larger than life in so many ways and his music will live on forever! Raising our red solos tonight—you will be missed by so many. Peace‚” Old Dominion wrote in an X post. “Just waking up to the news of Toby Keith’s passing‚” country star Jason Aldean wrote. “Today is a sad day for Country music and its fans. Toby was a huge presence in our business and someone we all looked up to and respected. You and your music will be forever remembered big man.” Even first lady Jill Biden posted about the singer’s death‚ writing‚ “Cancer truly touches us all. Rest in peace‚ Toby Keith.” Rick Diamond/Getty Images for Shock Ink The country singer had been diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2021‚ publicly revealing his battle later on social media. “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer‚” Keith tweeted in June 2022. “I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo‚ radiation and surgery. So far‚ so good. I need time to breathe‚ recover and relax.” The singer described his cancer battle as a “roller coaster” in September 2023. Keith also said that his faith played a major role in helping him cope. “I lean on my faith and I just pray and lean into it. You gotta’ do what you gotta’ do‚ and I don’t know how people do it without faith … that’s what I did‚ it was my rock.” Keith is survived by his wife Tricia‚ three children‚ and four grandchildren. * * * Katie Jerkovich contributed to this report.

U.S. Drone Strike Smokes Multiple Iranian-Backed Terrorist Leaders: Reports

A U.S. drone strike killed multiple Iranian-backed terrorist leaders on Wednesday night in Baghdad‚ Iraq‚ according to initial reports. The strike comes after the Biden administration was widely criticized last week for repeatedly telegraphing its plans to hit certain targets in Iraq and Syria in response to Iranian-backed terrorists killing three U.S. soldiers and wounding dozens more in a suicide drone attack on a U.S. base in Jordan. “U.S. drone struck [an] SUV driving through Baghdad with a hellfire missile killing three in the car‚” said Hussain Abdul-Hussain‚ Research Fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD). “Of them‚ two leaders from the Iran loyalist Iraq militia Kataeb Hezbollah (Abu Baqer Al-Saidi and Arkan Al-Aliyawi).” “At least one is believed to be responsible for the militia’s operations in Syria‚ from where the militia launched an explosive drone that hit a U.S. base in Jordan and killed three U.S. troops‚” Abdul-Hussain added. “America’s long arm of justice.” A source told Agence France Presse (AFP) that a drone “fired three rockets at a 4X4 car”. A U.S. official confirmed to VOA News that the U.S. was behind the strike on the high-value target. ‘Plan To Reduce The Number Of White Males In Aviation’: Matt Walsh Reveals Troubling Internal Footage Of FAA Discussion On DEI Agenda

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh posted a thread on X on Wednesday that featured internal footage of Federal Aviation Administration officials “workshopping a plan to reduce the number of white males in aviation.” The footage obtained by Walsh shows a video conference from April 2022 where acting Deputy Chief Operating Officer Angela McCullough argued for more airline workers to go “from ramp to cockpit‚” complaining that Flight Operations is “white-male dominated.” McCullough then argued that the agency needs to “get a little uncomfortable” and “talk about what the future could look like.” 2/ The footage begins with FAA acting deputy chief operating officer Angela McCullough saying more workers need to go from "ramp to cockpit‚" meaning she wants to see more baggage handlers become airline pilots. pic.twitter.com/2KAeHNcJA2 — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) February 7‚ 2024 David Wil Riggins‚ the FAA’s vice president of Flight Program Operations‚ responded to McCullough’s comments‚ saying‚ “That’s great‚ honestly. Those are some words that we really need to spend some time digging through and thinking about.” “This footage‚ which is from April of 2022‚ is a sign of a much larger problem‚” Walsh said in his post unraveling the FAA meeting. “Over the past few weeks‚ I’ve heard from several members of the aviation industry who tell me that DEI is endangering the public and distracting them from their work.” 3/ As the meeting goes on‚ McCullough declares that it's important to "get a little uncomfortable." She complains that Flight Operations is "white-male dominated" and tells the managers they need to “talk about what the future could look like." pic.twitter.com/cZCSAluWyN — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) February 7‚ 2024 Walsh said that this radical DEI-centered thinking has already affected airline pilots‚ some of whom are allegedly being prioritized for their gender identity. “A second source – a pilot I’ve confirmed works at Delta – tells me that Delta has recently promoted a trans-identifying pilot who repeatedly received bad reviews from captains‚” the Daily Wire host said. “According to the source‚ this pilot ‘would likely not have’ survived probation if he weren’t trans.” 6/ A second source — a pilot I’ve confirmed works at Delta — tells me that Delta has recently promoted a trans-identifying pilot who repeatedly received bad reviews from captains. According to the FAA’s Master Order Agreement for eFAST‚ FAA contracts worth $10‚000 to $150‚000 are “automatically reserved exclusively” for “Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Businesses.” 9/ Several sources have also sent me documentation about one of the FAA's largest programs‚ called "eFast‚" which prioritizes "Indian Tribal Owned corporations” and “Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Businesses” for billions of dollars in critical grant funding. pic.twitter.com/3LyXkTGhAI — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) February 7‚ 2024 “It’s only a matter of time until this combination of incompetence and anti-white discrimination leads to a major air disaster‚” Walsh added. “The aviation industry needs a completely new mandate — one that’s focused solely on safety — before a lot of people die.”

Senate Fails To Advance Border Security Compromise

Senate Fails To Advance Border Security Compromise

On Wednesday‚ the Democrat-controlled Senate failed to advance bipartisan legislation coupling border security and immigration reforms with funds for Ukraine‚ Israel‚ and other foreign causes. Forty-nine senators voted for the $118 billion package‚ while 50 opposed it. At least 60 votes were needed in the procedural step to get over the filibuster threshold. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)‚ who backed the bipartisan deal‚ and other top Republicans ended up voting against it along with a small group of Democrats. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) changed his vote to a “no” in order to have the Senate immediately consider a revised package that addresses the national security priorities in the legislation without the bipartisan border agreement. The updated measure has a price tag of roughly $95 billion. While sections for Ukraine‚ Israel‚ Taiwan‚ and other foreign priorities that included humanitarian aid remain intact‚ Afghan Allies Act provisions were dropped along with border-related sections. Worth noting that the updated Senate security supplemental plan drops all of the Afghan Allies Act provisions along with the border language. https://t.co/jUl4x47Nbt pic.twitter.com/cSkQpL9sCx — Leo Shane III (@LeoShane) February 7‚ 2024 Months of negotiations culminated in the weekend release of a bipartisan package that came together after President Joe Biden made a roughly $106 billion national security supplemental request and Senate Republicans defeated a foreign aid bill in December amid GOP calls for the United States to focus on improving U.S. border security and immigration policies. The compromise measure included funds and reforms geared toward strengthening the asylum process and shoring up border security‚ but it drew backlash from a wide swath of Republicans‚ including former President Donald Trump‚ who took issue with some of its many provisions and warned the bill would give President Biden a boost in an election year. House Republicans vowed it would be “dead on arrival.” One particular aspect of the legislation that came under fire‚ concerning the Border Emergency Authority‚ led critics to say it would allow 5‚000 people a day to come into the country and up to two million illegal entries a year. Sen. James Lankford (R-OK)‚ who led the negotiations on the Republican side‚ said the claims were untrue and insisted the provision was being misinterpreted. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “The emergency authority is not designed to let 5‚000 people in‚ it is designed to close the border and turn 5‚000 people around‚” Lankford said on X. “The Border Emergency Authority only lasts 3 yrs to force this Admin to shut down the border &; to give time for the next [president] to hire more agents &; more officers. After three years‚ the emergency authority expires because we should have regained full control of our border by then.” McConnell thanked Lankford on Wednesday for trying to hash out a compromise with Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) as well as support from the Biden administration. He also acknowledged the bill would not make it through the Senate in its current form‚ despite a Border Patrol union endorsement‚ after many of his GOP colleagues came out against it. “The product he was able to secure earned the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council – a sign that you’re pointing in the right direction‚” McConnell said. “But as our colleagues recognize‚ the agreement does not have a path to become law.”

Recognizing The Radical Feminist Movement For What It Is

Recognizing The Radical Feminist Movement For What It Is

Young women who were promised the feminist dream are now in the workforce. Growing up‚ they were told‚ “You can be just like men. Male parity is what we want! We want to work 40 hours a week. You are going to love it.” But now‚ at not-so-long last‚ the women who grew up hearing these platitudes are finding out that the feminist glory‚ as it was made out to be‚ is not all that glorious — and they aren’t actually loving it. Gez Z women in particular have found they aren’t making much money‚ they’re working a lot of hours‚ and they don’t have any time for themselves. I’ve been extensively discussing the realization Gen Z is coming to‚ and in yet another TikTok‚ this topic came to my attention once again. Eliza (@supposedlyasystem) has recently shared her feelings with the Internet (because that’s what you’re supposed to do on social media these days)‚ and she has trauma dumped about having to work 40 hours a week while making very little money. She carries on with this monologue for right at two minutes while crying as she does so. In her TikTok‚ she professes: Why is it that I have to work 40 hours a week just so I can have a place to live? … I work 40 hours a week so I can have a two-bedroom apartment and an extra $300 a month. … So not only do I not have any extra money‚ but just working makes me so exhausted that I don’t have time either. Like‚ I get off work at 5:30‚ I come home and I am just so tired. I’m so tired… I don’t want to do that anymore‚ right? I don’t care how poor and miserable I would have to be‚ but I literally can’t have a place to live without this. You know‚ like‚ I don’t know what to do. I’m not made for this.  She doesn't have the time‚ energy‚ or cash to enjoy her life outside of work pic.twitter.com/9hFWMnngho — wilder😎🇺🇸 (@wilderpatriot) February 1‚ 2024 A lot of people have made fun of her for this video‚ but Eliza isn’t the only Gen Zer who has expressed these exact feelings — so I think we should answer her question. She is asking‚ why? Why is this her circumstance? Well‚ the answer‚ sweetheart‚ is that the big‚ bold‚ bad feminists who came before you insisted that women could be just like men. Women are obviously not just like men; biologically‚ men are wired differently. We are symbiotic with men; however‚ our roles in life are not meant to be the same. But feminists came along and brainwashed people into believing women were no different than men and could‚ in fact‚ be just like them: Take birth control and you won’t get pregnant! they said. Go to work and be like the men! they proclaimed. Work alongside your male counterparts. WATCH: Candace Owens Fast forward to 2024 and women are finally realizing that perhaps Mother Nature had some things right. Despite this dream of freedom they were sold‚ women are actually kind of miserable living this “dream.” Maybe‚ just maybe‚ the ability to birth children alongside the inclination of knowing how to raise them might be a more natural route for women. I‚ for example‚ know what to do with my children in a way that does not come as naturally to my husband. Caring for children‚ especially as infants‚ does not come naturally to men in the way it does to women. Men are biologically predisposed to do the same job day in and day out‚ whereas women innately know how to manage a household. They can multitask while caring for a screaming child because we are designed in that way with that capability. Unfortunately‚ women are still not yet willing to let go of the feminist narrative — a narrative that is not making women happy today. This “dream” may help pay the bare minimum bills‚ but before the explosion of second-wave feminism‚ the young women who are now finding it difficult to keep up a 40-hour work week likely would have‚ instead‚ found a partner‚ gotten married‚ and had kids. The husband would have made enough to support the household because women were not yet in the labor force contributing to supporting an entire family. That was a different existence in a different world. But the feminists said that was a prison. If you ask me‚ quite frankly‚ women were happier. My grandmother‚ who stayed home and raised her kids‚ wasn’t crying every day about the stresses of raising children. She made dinner every night‚ managed the household‚ and cared for her family — all of which made her whole. When I spend the entire day with my three children‚ I am exhausted but deeply rewarded. Doing that is more rewarding than any feedback received in the climate of an office. Is it every single woman who feels as overwhelmed as the trauma dumping Gen Zers? No‚ but in my view‚ a large majority of women are dissatisfied with their lives yet unwilling to look at the fact that it is our own fault for continuing to embrace this radical feminist movement. This movement started before we were born and while its creation is not our fault‚ continuing to hold onto it is. Furthermore‚ we shouldn’t look down on women who are recognizing this “dream” for what it actually is. We should‚ instead‚ all be heading in their direction.

Border Authorities Have Already Encountered A Million Migrants Since October‚ Earliest Ever: Report

Border authorities have already reportedly encountered more than a million illegal migrants since the fiscal year began in October‚ the soonest they have ever hit that milestone. This year’s number is about 100‚000 encounters higher than the 908‚000 migrants border authorities encountered over the same period last year‚ Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources told Fox News. BREAKING: CBP sources say… Encountered more than 1 Million migrants since Oct 1 (FY24) – earliest to ever reach milestone. Last FY23‚ 909K at same time – difference of more than Sun's Super Bowl. Notable: 19‚600+ Chinese migrants so far this FY24… vs37k/FY23 total @FoxNews — Griff Jenkins (@GriffJenkins) February 7‚ 2024 Chinese migrants in particular have spiked‚ quickly becoming the fastest growing group of migrants crossing the border. A total of more than 37‚000 Chinese migrants were apprehended last fiscal year. This year‚ border authorities have already reportedly encountered about 20‚000 since October or about 150 Chinese migrants per day. Border crossings have continued to spike in recent months. In December‚ authorities encountered 302‚000 migrants at the border‚ the highest monthly total on record and the first time the total has ever topped 300‚000. Overall last year‚ 2.5 million migrants were apprehended crossing or trying to cross the southern border‚ according to the CBP. Meanwhile‚ more than 96‚000 “known gotaways‚” migrants who were detected but not caught‚ have reportedly crossed the southern border since October 1. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Meanwhile‚ Texas has sent at least 100‚000 migrants to sanctuary cities including New York City‚ Chicago‚ Denver‚ Philadelphia‚ and Washington‚ D.C.‚ which are struggling to provide resources for them. New York City is scrambling to metabolize the nearly 175‚000 migrants who have arrived since spring 2022. Last week‚ a group of migrants was arrested‚ but then quickly released for allegedly beating NYPD officers near Times Square. Denver is in the process of booting 800 families from overcrowded shelters this week. A bipartisan border deal crumbled in the Senate on Wednesday after bleeding Republican support and facing criticism from former President Donald Trump‚ the GOP’s presidential frontrunner. The $118 billion deal would have tightened asylum requirements‚ shut down the southern border if immigrant encounters hit certain levels‚ and sent billions of dollars to not only the border‚ but Ukraine‚ Israel‚ and Taiwan. On Monday‚ Trump said the “ridiculous” border bill is “nothing more than a highly sophisticated trap for Republicans to assume the blame on what the Radical Left Democrats have done to our Border‚ just in time for our most important EVER Election.” “Don’t be STUPID!” Trump posted on Truth Social. House Republicans also tried and failed to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis in a vote on Tuesday. However‚ Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) vowed Republicans will keep trying and successfully impeach Mayorkas despite the “setback.”

Boeing’s Largest Union Stands Firm on 40% Pay Raise Amid Company Turmoil

In a bold move that underscores the growing tensions between labor and management in the aerospace industry‚ Boeing’s largest union has drawn a line in the sand. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM)‚ representing a significant workforce of 32‚000 Seattle-area Boeing mechanics‚ is demanding a substantial 40% pay increase over the next three to four years. This comes after a 2014 agreement that saw workers sacrifice pensions and endure capped wages‚ a deal that many now view as a concession too far. The union’s firm stance arrives at a time when Boeing is already grappling with the fallout from its 737 MAX planes’ safety issues. These problems have not only tarnished the company’s reputation but also raised serious questions about its commitment to quality and safety. The recent midair cabin panel blowout on an Alaska Airlines MAX 9 jet in January has only added fuel to the fire‚ prompting increased scrutiny from lawmakers and the flying public alike. Proud “union-buster” Nikki Haley sat on Boeing’s board of directors for 10 months. She was paid $340‚000. Based on typical board hours‚ that’s an hourly wage of about $1‚360. This‚ along with lobbyists rigging our tax code‚ is how corporate greed is ruining our economy. pic.twitter.com/2vxEbSZKNT — Americans For Tax Fairness (@4TaxFairness) February 5‚ 2024 Jon Holden‚ president of IAM District 751‚ has made it clear that the union is prepared for a work stoppage if their demands are not met. With contract talks looming on the horizon‚ the possibility of a strike threatens to shut down Boeing plants in Washington and Oregon‚ which would include assembly lines for the highly profitable 737 jets. Such an action could deliver a significant blow to Boeing’s operations and financial health. Boeing’s response to the union’s demands has been muted‚ with no immediate comment offered in the wake of the union’s announcement. However‚ the company has previously expressed its intention to bargain in good faith later in the year. This standoff comes at a particularly challenging time for Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun‚ who is tasked with steering the company through one of the most turbulent periods in its history. Boeing’s largest union is set to demand a 40% pay raise by 2028‚ a labor dispute 10 years in the making and coming on the heels of its near-catastrophe on an airborne 737 Max jet‚ according to reports. https://t.co/v5qPEVtRja https://t.co/OIHH762Gn7 — NEWSMAX (@NEWSMAX) February 6‚ 2024 In an effort to address these quality concerns‚ Boeing recently paused production with a one-day ‘Quality Stand Down’. This was an attempt to evaluate and improve safety within the manufacturing process. Despite this‚ shares of Boeing saw an uptick‚ suggesting investor confidence or perhaps a market detached from the underlying labor strife. Meanwhile‚ the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken a more hands-on approach in the wake of the recent safety incidents. FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker has acknowledged that “the current system is not working” and has committed to maintaining inspectors at Boeing facilities for regular surveillance. This increased oversight indicates a federal acknowledgment of the need for systemic change within Boeing’s operations. The union’s push for a significant pay raise is emblematic of a broader labor movement that seeks to rectify past concessions and secure better compensation for workers. It reflects a growing sentiment among workers that their contributions to corporate success are undervalued and that the time has come for a rebalancing of the scales. As Boeing and its largest union brace for what could be a protracted negotiation‚ the outcome will have far-reaching implications not just for the company and its employees‚ but for the aerospace industry as a whole. The question remains: will Boeing acknowledge the winds of change and meet the demands of its workforce‚ or will it face the consequences of a potential strike that could further disrupt its already precarious position? Only time will tell‚ but one thing is certain—the eyes of the world are watching.   The post Boeing’s Largest Union Stands Firm on 40% Pay Raise Amid Company Turmoil appeared first on The Conservative Brief.
