Alarming New Watchdog Report Issued On Iran’s Nuclear Program

A new and alarming report from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, reveals that Iran has increased its storage of enriched uranium to almost weapons-grade levels. “As of May 17, Iran has amassed 408.6 kilograms (900.8 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60%,” the Associated Press reported after seeing the confidential report. “That’s an increase of 133.8 kilograms (294.9 pounds) — or almost 50% — since the IAEA’s last report in February. The 60% enriched material is a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. A report in February put this stockpile level at 274.8 kilograms (605.8 pounds).” The report warned that Iran is now “the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce such material,” a “serious concern.” In late January, IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi warned of Iran, “One thing is true: They have amassed enough nuclear material for several nuclear weapons, not one at this point.” The IAEA, which hesitates to openly condemn Iran, also stated Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA had “been less than satisfactory” regarding uranium traces found by inspectors at several locations in Iran: Turquzabad, Varamin, and Marivan. Iran has never acknowledged those sites as nuclear sites. Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships The IAEA concluded that evidence found at those sites “led the agency to conclude that these three locations, and other possible related locations, were part of an undeclared structured nuclear program carried out by Iran until the early 2000s and that some activities used undeclared nuclear material.” Iran has been lying about its nuclear program for years. In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Iran had a clandestine nuclear warehouse at Turquzabad. Iran denied the charge, but the next year, IAEA inspectors detected the presence of uranium there. Saturday, in a rare statement on the Jewish Sabbath, Netanyahu responded to the new report, saying, “Iran is totally determined to complete its nuclear program.” He added that the new report “strongly reinforces what Israel has been saying for years — the purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful. … The international community must act now to stop Iran.” “The level of uranium enrichment Iran has reached exists only in countries actively pursuing nuclear weapons and has no civilian justification whatsoever,” he pointed out. “Analysts point to what happened with North Korea, which had reached a 1994 deal with the U.S. to abandon its nuclear weapons program,” AP reported in January. “The deal fell apart in 2002. By 2005 and wary of U.S. intentions after its invasion of Iraq, Pyongyang announced it had built nuclear weapons. Today, North Korea has ballistic missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads that are capable of reaching the U.S.”

Trump Abruptly Withdraws Musk Ally’s Nomination For NASA Chief

On Saturday night, President Donald Trump abruptly withdrew his nomination of Jared Isaacman, a close ally of Elon Musk, to be the next Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). “After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” The New York Times reported that Trump had told people he was going to withdraw the nomination after learning that Isaacman, an entrepreneur who has flown into space twice with Musk’s SpaceX company, made donations to Democrats. Isaacson had been poised to get a final confirmation vote in the Senate after passing through the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In a post on X, Isaacman said he was “incredibly grateful” to Trump, the Senate, and those who supported him through the nomination process over the past six months. Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships “The President, NASA and the American people deserve the very best–an Administrator ready to reorganize, rebuild and rally the best and brightest minds to deliver the world-changing headlines NASA was built to create,” Isaacman said. “I have not flown my last mission — whatever form that may ultimately take — but I remain incredibly optimistic that humanity’s greatest spacefaring days lie ahead.” Pro-Trump activist journalist Laura Loomer reported on X earlier on Saturday that “Deep State operatives” were trying to “derail” Isaacman’s nomination, noting there was “reason to believe” that he was “facing retaliation because of his friendship” with Musk, who just ended a stint as a special government employee in Trump’s administration. Loomer also pointed out that Isaacman had given $2 million to Trump’s inauguration and was on track to get over 70 votes in the Senate. Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) reacted to Loomer’s post, saying, “Astronaut and successful businessman [Isaacman] was a strong choice by President Trump to lead NASA. I was proud to introduce Jared at his hearing and strongly oppose efforts to derail his nomination.”

Potentially Deadly Blood Clots Can be Spotted Before They Strike: Microscope with AI Spots Traffic Jams in Your Veins

Japanese scientists have found a way to observe clotting activity in the blood as it happens, without needing invasive procedures. Using a new type of microscope and artificial intelligence, scientists have shown how platelet “clumping” can be tracked in patients with coronary artery disease, opening the door to safer, more personalized treatment. Platelets are tiny […] The post Potentially Deadly Blood Clots Can be Spotted Before They Strike: Microscope with AI Spots Traffic Jams in Your Veins appeared first on Good News Network.

W.Va. Lawmaker Aims to Ban Chinese Nationals From Student Visas

Rep. Riley Moore in March introduced a bill in the House of Representatives that would halt the issuance of student visas to Chinese nationals.  The West Virginia Republican’s bill has taken on new relevance in recent weeks as the Trump administration has sought to revoke the student visas for international students attending Harvard University. Chinese students represent the largest share of international students at Harvard. Called the Stop CCP VISAs Act of 2025, Moore’s legislation would prohibit any individual who is a national of China from being issued a visa “for the purpose of conducting research or pursuing a course of study.” The CCP is an acronym for the Chinese Communist Party. In an op-ed published in February, Moore sounded the alarm on Chinese spying on American and allied countries’ assets. He cited the case of five Chinese nationals who were charged by the federal government with making false statements, conspiracy, and destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations. The Chinese nationals, who were students at the University of Michigan at the time of their alleged crimes, were caught near Camp Grayling, a military base in Michigan. The U.S. military, together with its Taiwanese allies, had been conducting live-fire exercises at the military base. The students were permitted to graduate from the University of Michigan in May 2024 and return to China.  “Every year, we allow nearly 300,000 Chinese nationals to come to the U.S. on student visas. We’ve literally invited the CCP to spy on our military, steal our intellectual property, and threaten national security,” Moore said in a statement. In recent years, there have been several instances of documented spying by Chinese nationals in the U.S. Fengyun Shi, a Chinese national who was in America on a student visa at the University of Minnesota, pleaded guilty in 2024 of using an aircraft “for the unlawful photographing of [a designated military] installation without authorization on Oct. 2, 2024.” Shi was deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on May 7. An investigation published in May by students at Stanford University uncovered an alleged Chinese state security operative pretending to be a Stanford student in an effort to recruit sympathetic Americans to spy for the CCP.  Republican Reps. Brandon Gill and Troy Nehls of Texas, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Andy Ogles, of Tennessee, and Addison McDowell of North Carolina are co-sponsoring the legislation in the House. Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla., has introduced a companion bill in the Senate.  “For decades, the failed post-Cold War consensus assumed China would democratize and liberalize if we welcomed them into our markets, media, and universities. Instead, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took advantage of Americans’ goodwill and subversively exported agents to our shores to spy, oppress dissidents and enemies of the state, and steal publicly funded research and intellectual property to the tune of billions of dollars,” Moody said. “Now, by law, nationals of [China] are forced to engage in intelligence-gathering and espionage, and those who refuse face retaliation and persecution against themselves and family members. It is unfortunate that the CCP’s draconian national security law requires us to take such drastic measures, but the risk of allowing this to continue unabated is too great to ignore,” the Florida senator said. Scientists propose infecting another world in the solar system with life

Researchers are proposing an unusual experiment that would introduce microbial life to Enceladus, one of Saturn’s moons. And at the same time, scientists explain why it might not be possible. The study was published in the journal Space Policy. Potentially habitable worlds in the solar system are Jupiter’s moon Europa and Saturn’s moon Enceladus. They are thought to have vast oceans of liquid water beneath their icy surfaces. As for Enceladus, scientists already know that this ocean contains elements essential for life. Therefore, microorganisms could potentially live there. But what if further exploration of Enceladus with a dedicated spacecraft reveals that its subsurface ocean is lifeless? In that case, the study’s authors propose sending Earth’s microbial life there specifically to understand how living organisms spread in a lifeless but habitable world. This could tell us how the first living organisms that emerged on Earth’s ocean floors spread across our planet. Such an experiment could also provide important information about how humans might populate other worlds, and a habitable Enceladus could become a source of material for exploring the outer solar system. Scientists say existing technology could bring life to Enceladus, where conditions exist for it to thrive. Why shouldn’t we conduct an experiment on Enceladus? At the same time, scientists believe that this experiment may face deep ethical questions. If extraterrestrial life is discovered on Enceladus, it will be a revolution, and people will try to preserve it. But if there is no life there, do people have the right to conduct an experiment to populate another world with living microorganisms? Do people have the right to change the entire biosphere of another world for a period of time or forever? These questions will have to be discussed, say the authors of the study. Enceladus: Why is it a potentially habitable world? The surface of Enceladus is covered with pure water ice, which means that Saturn’s satellite is very bright, because it has an enormous reflectivity: it reflects 99% of sunlight. Enceladus’ thick icy crust hides an ocean of liquid water that is believed to cover the entire moon. Powerful jets of water vapor and ice particles constantly shoot out of cracks on Enceladus, throwing them hundreds of kilometers into space. Many organic molecules have been found in these jets, indicating that this world may be habitable. It is believed that the energy needed to maintain a liquid ocean and geological activity on Enceladus is provided by the gravitational interaction of Enceladus with Saturn and other satellites of the planet. The average temperature on the surface of Enceladus is about 200 degrees Celsius. And at depth in the ocean, the temperature is believed to be between zero and plus one degree Celsius. Temperatures at the bottom of the ocean, where hydrothermal vents are located, reach between plus 90 and plus 370 degrees Celsius, according to scientists. It is these hydrothermal vents that likely provide the energy and chemicals needed to support potential life. Karmelo Anthony is no civil rights icon and never will be

Two months have passed since high school senior Karmelo Anthony allegedly fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco, Texas. The killing sparked national outrage and reopened difficult debates — about race (Karmelo is black, Austin was white), school safety, and the crisis among young men in America. Also justice. While the Metcalf family mourns — and has to contend with being swatted — Anthony’s bond was reduced and quickly paid. He now awaits trial from the comfort of a new home, funded by hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from supporters. He was even allowed to graduate on May 22, though he did not attend the ceremony.Quiet policy tweaks won’t cut it. The Frisco school district can’t just wait for the public to move on.Meanwhile, Anthony’s family and legal team have mounted a public relations offensive. In an outrageous press conference, they blamed Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, the Frisco Independent School District, and even systemic racism for Anthony’s predicament. The strategy is clear: Rebrand Karmelo Anthony as a victim. They want the public to believe he was a mostly peaceful teen forced to act in self-defense after being told to change seats. No new evidence has emerged in the case, but the existing facts undermine Anthony’s claim of self-defense. He allegedly brought a knife to the event, provoked the confrontation with Metcalf, fled the scene after the stabbing, and later asked a police officer whether he could plead self-defense. His actions — before, during, and after the incident — suggest intent, not fear. Why did he sit there? Why did he bring a knife? Why did he run? Red flags all overEqually troubling is what remains hidden. Notably, Anthony’s social media accounts have been scrubbed. His disciplinary record hasn’t been released — student privacy laws and all that. The school has also withheld any security camera footage. If Anthony truly acted in self-defense — if he sat quietly on a bench and responded only to a threat from a belligerent Austin Metcalf — then that evidence should exist. And it should exonerate him.But it doesn’t appear to, at least not so far. We may or may not find out, either when the case goes to trial or when Anthony accepts a plea deal and explains his actions to the court. As I wrote previously, red flags almost certainly existed — flags that should have prompted school officials to remove him from extracurricular activities. They didn’t. And they didn’t because they may have feared the appearance of racism more than the consequences of inaction.Educator Tillman Plank, who works in North Texas, says that Texas schools routinely discourage direct disciplinary action against disruptive or violent students. Even without the racial angle in Anthony’s case, the system would likely have enabled his behavior — just without the media framing it as a civil rights issue after the fact.Frisco ISD and other suburban districts that maintain two-tiered discipline systems must abandon these policies immediately. If they don’t, they risk a mass exodus of families — especially with Texas’ new school choice law now in effect. That legislation passed in April. It allows parents to use public funds to enroll their children in private schools or purchase homeschooling resources. Understandably, many parents fed up with Frisco ISD’s response are actively weighing their options for the next school year.Even if FISD outperforms most Texas districts on paper, that means little if it can’t keep students safe.No more half measuresTo its credit, the district has taken initial steps to boost supervision and tighten security at public events. Administrators also appear to be preparing disciplinary documentation for students who pose a threat — potentially paving the way for behavior intervention plans or long-term placements at alternative campuses.Of course, this is the bare minimum a school district should do after a student is murdered at one of its events. Frisco ISD’s leadership must speak up — clearly and publicly — about what steps they’re taking to ensure student safety. Parents deserve to know that students like Karmelo Anthony won’t be given another free pass.Quiet policy tweaks won’t cut it. FISD can’t just wait for the public to move on.To restore trust, district officials should first admit where they failed. They need to acknowledge that they could have acted before Austin Metcalf was killed — but didn’t. Why? Possibly because they followed flawed educational theories and caved to progressive posturing.Owning up to that failure would spark a backlash — especially from non-black families already frustrated by double standards in discipline. And yes, it might force other districts across Texas to come clean and change their own policies.Good. The alternative is silence, followed by collapse. As families flee for safer options under the Lone Star State’s new school choice law — and you better believe they will — the cost of inaction grows by the day.By taking bold, transparent action, FISD could finally correct the record. Karmelo Anthony is not a civil rights hero. He’s not the victim of an unjust system. By all available accounts, he belongs in prison. And students across Texas deserve schools willing to keep people like him out of the stands — and off the track.
