Afghan fled to Afghanistan after murder in Denmark - now demands help to "come home"

FOREIGN. An Afghan with a permanent residence permit in Denmark fled home to Afghanistan again when he was suspected of murder. But now he states that Denmark must take him back again - because otherwise he will be killed by the Taliban, the Afghan claims.


The Afghan man has for years been internationally wanted for the murder of a gang member in Denmark, reports Danish BT.

He is now appealing for the Danish authorities to help him leave his native Afghanistan, where he has hidden from justice.

- He fears for his life. If the Taliban capture him, he fears they will kill him. It may well be that their statements are softer now than when they were in power last time, but they are not fond of people with Western connections, says the Afghan's Danish lawyer, Rasmus Sølberg, to BT.

The man is an Afghan citizen, but has a permanent residence permit in Denmark, where he has also lived most of his life. He also has a child with a woman in Denmark.

BT has chosen not to publish the Afghan's name or details about the case for the sake of his safety.
