As the first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump nears, the Biden campaign is ratcheting up its attacks on the presumptive Republican nominee’s 34 felony convictions. In a new 30-second ad, Team Biden slams Trump as a “convicted criminal who’s only out for himself.” After the Manhattan jury handed down its verdict last month, Biden has referred to his opponent as a “convicted felon” while his campaign team has celebrated the verdict. Trump is the first former president in American history to be convicted of a crime. “In the courtroom, we see Donald Trump for who he is,” the Biden campaign ad begins. “He’s been convicted of 34 felonies, found liable for sexual assault, and he committed financial fraud. Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s been working — lowering health care costs and making big corporations pay their fair share.” “This election is between a convicted criminal who’s only out for himself and a president who’s fighting for your family,” it continues. The Biden campaign spot is part of a $50 million advertising blitz for June and will run on national cable along with general market television in battleground states ahead of the first debate on June 27, The Hill reported. Biden and Trump’s first debate is set to be held in Atlanta and aired on CNN. Jake Tapper and Dana Bash have been tapped as moderators, and it will take place without a live audience per the Biden campaign’s request. Trump, who has vowed to appeal his 34 felony convictions, has blasted his prosecution as politically motivated and influenced by the White House. The Republican candidate’s campaign said it raised tens of millions of dollars immediately following Trump’s guilty verdict as conservatives — and some independents — were enraged by the hush-money trial’s outcome. Trump’s conviction has appeared to have little effect on the polls as the former president continues to lead Biden nationally and in every battleground state, according to the RealClearPolitcs average as of Monday morning. Trump is also facing three other trials, a state trial in Georgia and two federal trials — one in Washington, D.C., and one in Florida — for charges related to his challenging of the 2020 election results and his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House. Biden and his family have faced their own legal challenges ahead of the 2024 election. In February, special counsel Robert Hur released his final report on the investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents as vice president and recommended no charges. Hunter Biden and the president’s brother, Jim Biden, have also been the focus of a months-long Republican-led inquiry into the Biden family’s foreign business dealings, which GOP leaders allege implicates the president in a pay-for-play scheme carried out by his family while Biden was vice president.

Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman appeared at the show as special guests.  “What’s going on everybody?” the 72-year-old recording artist said to his fans assembled at the home of the Texas A&M Aggies football team. “We got some Aggies out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field… damn! Just invite me back, I’ll come!” His weekend show attracted 110,905 ticket-buying fans, besting the record previously set by The Grateful Dead. Their 1977 show at Raceway Park in New Jersey attracted 107,019 people. Strait’s latest record-breaking numbers also applied to Texas A&M Kyle Field specifically, as it beat out a 2014 college football game against Ole Miss which attracted 110,633 attendees, per Billboard. There were several prominent faces in the crowd, including Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott. “Unbelievable concert by the King, George Strait,” he shared on X. “Largest packed house for a concert in America. Fox News host Pete Hegseth swamped MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki in book sales despite Psaki getting a month head start. Hegseth, who released his book on June 4, has sold roughly 60,000 copies of ‘The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free.’ Psaki’s book ‘Say More: Lessons from Work, the White House, and More’ has sold around 22,000 copies to date despite being released nearly a month earlier than Hegseth’s on May 6, according to data from Bookscan reported by the Daily Mail. Hegseth’s book, which debuted at the top spot on The New York Times bestseller list, also trounced several other hosts at rival networks. MSNBC’s Joy Reid has sold fewer than 29,000 copies of her book ‘Medgar and Myrlie’ released in early February, and CNN anchor Jake Tapper has sold just over 15,000 copies of his book ‘All The Demons Are Here’ over the course of 11 months since its release, according to the Daily Mail. In the middle of his media tour to promote his book, Hegseth appeared on The Daily Wire’s Sunday Special with host Ben Shapiro. The pair discussed Hegseth’s Army service in Iraq and Afghanistan and how the military has embraced “woke ideology.” “This is an institution more focused than any other in our government, in our society, on meritocracy, on lethality, on readiness,” Hegseth said of the U.S. military. But the military underwent a “fundamental transformation” under former president Barack Obama, he said. While older soldiers and veterans have shunned the ideological shift, the military is training the younger generation of service members to incorporate “woke ideology.”  “You mentioned the warriors are just as good as they’ve always been. I agree, kind of. The challenge is because it’s a top-down organization, you start pushing things like DEI, now your young lieutenants and your young privates going through basic or going through ROTC or going through West Point are getting that woke ideology as part of their training,” the Fox News host said.
