I always know something is big when people start texting me about it, asking me if I’ve seen it. And that just happened with the Donald Trump interview by Logan Paul, over on the “IMPAULSIVE” Podcast. It truly was great. President Trump brought his own gear with his mugshot on it as gifts and you could tell the love and respect was so big in the room. In fact, after the interview, they posted this asking if this was the best Podcast they’d ever done and most agreed it was: This guy says he’s never seen Impaulsive until today, and I’m the same way: Logan Paul is famously now a boxer, set to face off against Mike Tyson. The results are in for the Virginia GOP senate primary in Georgia. Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain and Vietnam refugee endorsed by President Trump, has been declared the winner! He easily beat his challengers, getting 61.8% of the total vote. Cao is now headed to the November Senate election, where he will go head-to-head with Democrat Senator Tim Kaine. But, in the end, Cao won by a long-shot. After about $5.7 million spent and more than one and a half years of campaigning for many of the five contenders, Virginia’s U.S. Senate primary ended with Cao as the victor. “Tomorrow, we begin our campaign to save the country that saved my life. I spent twenty-five years in the Navy, while Tim Kaine spent thirty years in elected office. The taxpayers signed the front of our paychecks for the same amount of time,” Cao said in a post on X after the race was called on Tuesday. “The difference is this: Tim Kaine got rich, and I got scars. Tim Kaine has already placed $2 million in television advertising for the fall, where he will pollute the airwaves with lies about me, but also about him.” With Cao’s campaign coffers nearly empty after a hard-fought race, he will need to do some significant fundraising to compete with Kaine, who is entering into the General Election with more than $8.5 million cash on hand, according to the FEC. Unlike in 2020, Biden’s 2024 duties as president will take away some of the time he has for debate prep, meaning much of it will be confined to the days immediately beforehand, officials said. Biden has just completed a whirlwind couple of weeks that included two foreign trips and hosting two major fundraisers — all while dealing with the emotional fallout from his son, Hunter Biden’s, recent conviction on felony gun charges. According to a campaign official, Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, is leading the debate preparations. Other senior campaign aides and longtime advisers, including Cedric Richmond, a former White House aide and current campaign co-chair, will also be on hand. The secluded complex of rustic lodges in Maryland has, in the past, helped focus Biden and his team ahead of important moments such as State of the Union speeches. The preparations are expected to progress over a series of days, evolving from informal discussions about topics, questions and potential responses and culminating in more formal 90-minute mock debates. The president will likely be fueled by his favorite drink of orange Gatorade. (CNN debate rules stipulate that each candidate will have a pen, writing pad and a bottle of water at the podium.) The White House is preserving the possibility that the president and his team could travel to Atlanta directly from Camp David, depending on how much practice remains. Aides have been compiling binders of questions – with possible answers to each of them – on a wide range of topics for the president to peruse. Four years ago, Biden is said to have offered detailed feedback on every anticipated topic, sometimes rejecting certain suggestions altogether. At other points, he pushed aides to home in deeper on one subject matter or frame a response in a different way. CNN released additional details about the debate earlier this week. Campaign staff may not interact with the candidates during the commercial breaks. “Both candidates agreed to appear at a uniform podium, and their podium positions will be determined by a coin flip,” CNN wrote. “Microphones will be muted throughout the debate except for the candidate whose turn it is to speak. While no props or pre-written notes will be allowed on the stage, candidates will be given a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water,” the outlet added.
