‘Get Out Of Israel’s Way’: Hagerty Rips Biden For Withholding Arms To Israel

Tennessee GOP senator Bill Hagerty slammed the Biden administration from withholding arms to Israel that have been approved by Congress, snapping they should “get out of Israel’s way.” Hagerty responded to a story indicating the White House was angry at Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for stating that the Biden administration has been withholding weapons and ammunition from Israel as the Jewish state is threatened by Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north. Netanyahu released a video in which he stated: When Secretary Blinken was recently here in Israel, we had a candid conversation, I said, “I deeply appreciate the support the U.S. has given Israel from the beginning of the war.” But I also said something else. I said, “It’s inconceivable that in the past few months the administration has been withholding weapons and ammunitions to Israel. Israel, America’s closest ally, fighting for its life, fighting against Iran and our other common enemies.” Secretary Blinken assured me that the administration was working day and night to remove these bottlenecks. I certainly hope that’s the case; it should be the case. During World War II, Churchill told the United States, “Give us the tools; we’ll do the job.” And I say: Give us the tools and we’ll finish the job. A lot faster. Give us the tools and we'll finish the job. pic.twitter.com/eQHpyd9q0X — Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) June 18, 2024 “@WhiteHouse is mad bc @IsraeliPM @netanyahu  is telling the truth,” Hagerty tweeted, “Biden Admin has refused to send Congress **formal** notifications to finalize a host of arms sales to Israel—incl F-15s, JDAM smart bomb kits, munitions—even after SFRC & HFAC informally cleared these sales!” “The norm is for the Executive Branch to submit formal notifications to Congress roughly 48-72 hours after committees informally cleared proposed arms sales,” he continued. “But the Biden Admin is violating this norm amid Israel’s multi-front war. It’s shocking what @POTUS @JoeBiden  is doing to Israel as our ally faces its darkest hour. As SFRC ranking member @SenatorRisch  put it, it’s time for the Biden Administration to get out of Israel’s way & let it defeat these Iran-backed terrorists! .@WhiteHouse is mad bc @IsraeliPM @netanyahu is telling the truth. (3/3) https://t.co/0fSxy9eydP — Senator Bill Hagerty (@SenatorHagerty) June 19, 2024   Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said on Tuesday, The Biden Administration continues to try and have it both ways by claiming credit for security assistance to Israel that it has not provided. Meanwhile, those of us in Congress with jurisdiction over weapons sales have done our jobs and approved two separate tranches of arms transfers to Israel for formal notification to Congress, to include ammunition, vehicles to protect Israeli soldiers, and nearly $20B in F-15 aircraft. It is past time the administration move to formally notify the F-15 and ammunition sales and remove its existing hold on precision guided munitions. Micromanagement of Israel’s war on terror must end – let’s get out of the way. “The implications of the Biden Administration’s conditional support for our closest ally in the Middle East are not lost on Hezbollah as its attacks from Lebanon increase in intensity and scale,” Risch continued. “Hamas continues to drive a wedge between the United States and Israel and isolate Israel from the international community. By signaling to terrorists that American support for Israel is conditional, we encourage Hamas to protract the war in Gaza, furthering risk to civilians, and incentivize Hezbollah to continue its attacks on Israel from the North. The Biden Administration’s fecklessness now courts a two-front war – the consequences of which would be disastrous for both Israel’s security and America’s standing in the world as a reliable partner.”

This Impressive Jump Dance Will Make Your “Brain Happy”

This dancer’s joy is literally jumping out of the screen. Austin Pepito, a clothing designer and dancer has gone viral many times over for his fun and energetic videos. Many of his personally choreographed clips on TikTok have earned millions of views, and one has even surpassed 70 million. A newer video has been storming social because it’s impressive and unique. In it, Austin is showing off his dance moves, jumping skills, and creativity.  With Altego’s Couldn’t Care Less (feat. Gia Koka) providing the backbeat, Austin bounces off the ground in a string of jumps, each one different than the last. The dancer also adds some “lethal flips” and crazy spins into his mix.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Austin Pepito (@austin.pep) After hundreds of thousands of views and shares, people are still watching on repeat because “the energy” makes their “brain happy.”  “Bro unlocked the other 50% of his brain,” someone speculated. “He literally has more energy than 50 of me combined” someone commented. “Bro got spring implants in his legs,” a fan joked. “How though? How do you jump that high?” a curious fan asked. We watched the video hundreds of times on a loop at this point, and we wondered how he managed to spring so high ourselves. We can’t quite figure out where he gets all that energy or how he’s so athletic. But as someone pointed out in the comments, “Legend says he’s still jumping” today. A Prayer of Praise When Things Aren't Going Well - Your Daily Prayer - June 20

Created in God's image, we have emotions because He has emotions. However, we often allow our emotions to cause us to lose sight of our Savior rather than prompting us to draw near Him.

When Christian Groups Subvert Religious Liberty of Christians

When Christian Groups Subvert Religious Liberty of Christians

The Story: The Italian Supreme Court’s harassment of an evangelical church serves as a stark reminder that the ongoing threats to religious liberty often come from those who identify as Christians. The Background: For nearly a decade, Breccia di Roma, an evangelical congregation in Rome, has been embroiled in a legal battle with Italian tax authorities over recognizing their meeting place as a legitimate place of worship. The dispute revolves around the authorities’ refusal to grant tax-exempt status to the church, arguing its premises lack the “intrinsic characteristics” of a religious building, such as the altars, statues, and ornate decor typically found in Catholic churches. In 2016, the church purchased an old storefront in Rome’s historic district to convert into their meeting place. After obtaining the necessary approvals and paying the required fees, the church expected the building’s redesignation as a tax-exempt religious institution to be finalized. However, the national tax agency intervened, claiming the simple, unadorned space doesn’t resemble their conception of a church building. Despite the church winning two court cases in 2016 and 2023, the tax authority remained adamant and appealed the decisions, escalating the matter to Italy’s highest court. In a ruling in June 2024, the Italian Supreme Court sided with the tax authorities, denying the church tax-exempt status. The court upheld the argument that the church’s premises lack the markers of a religious building, effectively denying its recognition as a legitimate place of worship for tax purposes. Why It Matters: This ruling has raised significant concerns about religious freedom and equal treatment of minority faiths in Italy. The case also highlights the challenges faced by evangelical and other Protestant communities in Italy, where the Catholic Church’s influence remains deeply ingrained in the cultural and bureaucratic fabric. It underscores the need for greater recognition and accommodation of diverse religious practices, ensuring all faiths are treated equitably under the law. But it also provides a lesson for Christians in the United States about the importance of vigilance in safeguarding religious liberty. The challenges faced by Breccia di Roma serve as a stark reminder that even in countries with constitutional guarantees of religious freedom, the practical application of those rights can be hindered by cultural biases, bureaucratic obstacles, and unequal treatment of minority faiths. And that such threats can come from other Christians. Consider, for example, an issue generally of concern only for pastors—tax benefits related to a housing allowance. For more than a thousand years, housing has been a form of noncash payment or compensation for church ministers. This type of housing is often referred to as a parsonage (also known as a rectory, manse, or vicarage). The history of parsonages can be traced back to the early Christian church, but they became more prevalent in the Middle Ages. In medieval Europe, parsonages were often built near the church and were considered part of its property. The parson or priest would live in the parsonage and be responsible for the parish’s spiritual well-being. In the United States, parsonages have been a part of church life since the colonial era. Many early American churches provided housing for their ministers, often in the form of a simple farmhouse or cottage. In the early 20th century, taxation changed in America as income began to be taxed. In 1921, Congress provided a parsonage exemption that applied only to ministers who lived on property owned by their churches. This exemption tends to favor certain types of church structures over others. Churches where ecclesiastical properties are owned centrally, such as in the Catholic Church, may find it easier to provide parsonages compared to independent local churches with more limited financial resources. This rule disadvantaged ministers—usually of low-church denominations—whose churches provided a housing allowance rather than a church-owned parsonage. So in 1954, Congress amended the tax code to allow ministers to exempt a portion of their income to the extent used for housing. In 2013, a federal judge challenged this exemption, ruling that the clergy tax-free housing allowances were unconstitutional. That case was overturned the following year in the appeals court. Yet that same judge ruled again in 2017 that an income tax exemption for clergy housing is unconstitutional. That decision was also overturned on appeal. Because the cases were overturned, they’re easy to dismiss as irrelevant. But they reveal how institutional bias and complacency could lead to harm for certain Christian groups in the future. For instance, the judge’s decision harmed only specific groups of Christians, such as small Baptist congregations and underfunded nondenominational church plants. By targeting the housing allowance and not church-owned parsonages, the judge unintentionally attempted to incorporate into the tax code a bias toward wealthy churches and mainline denominations. Those churches often bought their property decades earlier and are thus more likely to own parsonages. This is because established denominations, with accumulated resources, are often better positioned to navigate complex tax laws and maintain traditional church structures, such as parsonages. In an attempt to prevent an imaginary violation of the Establishment Clause, the judge allowed institutional bias to create a real infringement of the Constitution. This judge’s assault on liberty also highlights our complacency. The judge’s most recent ruling came a mere seven years ago. Fortunately, the U.S. Constitution proved, once again, to be a sufficient bulwark against such threats to religious liberty. But the casual way we shrug about the judge’s rulings shows how American Christians have become overly reliant on legal precedent alone to preserve our first freedom. This has led us to dismiss, downplay, or outright ignore dangerous threats and attacks, both from without and from within. Over the past decade, for example, there has been a rise in ideological movements composed of Christians who actively oppose religious liberty—even for Christians. Catholic Integralists and (mostly Protestant) Christian Nationalists are the most prominent examples of this type of right-wing wokeism. For example, in his book The Case for Christian Nationalism, Stephen Wolfe argues for a Christian prince to “punish (with civil power) false teachers, heretics, blasphemers, and idolaters for their external expressions of such things in order to prevent (1) any injury to the souls of the people of God, (2) the subversion of Christian government, Christian culture, or spiritual discipline, or (3) civil disruption or unrest.” He then adds, “Modern religious liberty advocates deny this and I affirm it.” We modern religious liberty advocates deny this because we’ve seen throughout history—with the Breccia di Roma case being just the latest example—how “Christian magistrates” persecute us low-church types for an “external expression” of faith that differs from what’s authorized by the national church. The power to persecute is always more appealing when you think you’ll wield the power. In theory, Wolfe should be cheering the Italian Supreme Court decision since they’re imposing the “theocratic Caesarism” he champions. But Wolfe presumably prefers a “Christian prince” that looks more like himself than like Pope Francis. The problem with religious dictators, though, is that you often don’t get a choice in what religious tradition they’ll choose to make the only acceptable standard. Wolfe-style theocracy and Italian-style subversion of religious freedom aren’t imminent in the United States. The anti-liberty woke sound loud on X, but their views aren’t yet influential. For instance, Southern Baptists recently voted on a resolution opposing “any effort to establish a state religion of any nation, including the United States of America.” Yet efforts to undermine religious liberty need to be opposed forcefully, consistently, and constantly. The historian J. H. Burns once noted that “the Church thinks in centuries while politicians are content to get through the coming week.” The same long-term perspective is needed for defenders of religious liberty. We cannot become complacent or take our freedoms for granted, thinking legal precedents alone will preserve them indefinitely. Nor can we ignore internal threats from misguided Christians who fail to grasp the biblical and historical necessity of safeguarding liberty for all. Just as Breccia di Roma faces an ongoing battle in Italy, the fight for religious freedom requires constant vigilance and proactive engagement here in America. We must continue making the case for why our First Amendment rights are essential not only for Christians but for people of all faiths and of no faith. As Christ’s followers, we have an opportunity and responsibility to lead the way—not by mandating belief in Christ as a requirement for all citizens but by exemplifying the love, grace, and truth of the gospel in all we say and do.

Regime Media FREAK OUT Over Louisiana’s Ten Commandments Law

Louisiana has become the first state to require that the Ten Commandments be displayed in all public schools across the state. The corporate media’s reaction to this development is best described as a collective muted hysteria. Each of the major networks filed a brief denouncing the bill in its own particular way. ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir took the opportunity to snark about the Supreme Court. Below is that report in its entirety: ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT 6/19/24 6:44 PM DAVID MUIR: This evening, Louisiana is the first state to require the Ten Commandments now be displayed in every public classroom from kindergarten to state-funded universities. 30 years ago, the Supreme Court struck down a similar law in Kentucky, citing separation of church and state. Louisiana's law could face a similar challenge now, but it would come before today’s more conservative High Court. Perhaps the Court repeals Louisiana’s law, or it doesn’t. But the left and their media never pass up on a chance to take a shot at conservatives. And so it is that Muir engages in this mindless speculation, which in this heated political climate could place Supreme Court justices at risk of violence. Per CBS, the ACLU is going to sue Louisiana. Also, the Ten Commandments will be funded privately. NBC echoed similar themes in their brief. CBS EVENING NEWS 6/19/24 6:41 PM NORAH O’DONNELL: And Louisiana’s governor just signed a new bill that orders all public classrooms to display the Ten Commandments in large, easily readable font. CBS's Elise Preston explains.  ELISE PRESTON: Tonight, Norah, Louisiana has become the first state in the country to require poster-size copies like this one of the Ten Commandments be displayed in every public school classroom. Republican governor Jeff Landry signed the bill into law today. In a statement, the ACLU says it's planning to file a lawsuit, saying the new law is blatantly unconstitutional, and violates the separation of church and state. Supporters say private donations will be used to put up the displays, not state funds. NBC NIGHTLY NEWS 6/19/24 6:40 PM LESTER HOLT: In Louisiana, the Ten Commandments will now be displayed in every public school classroom under a controversial bill signed into law today by Republican governor Jeff Landry. Louisiana becomes the first state to mandate such a requirement. Opponents say the law is unconstitutional. This story is ultimately less about the actual Ten Commandments than about what they represent in this particular instance: a challenge to the left’s monopoly on what can be taught in schools. Said differently, Louisiana challenges the (secular) religious orthodoxies of the public education system as run by left-wing administrators in unison with the teachers’ unions. This is why the parents’ rights battles as waged in Florida and elsewhere were covered so virulently, and why the media were quick to co-opt activist language when reporting parent’s rights bills as “Don’t Say Gay”. The media have no problem with kindergarteners being taught on gender, or on third and fourth-graders having access to graphic sexual materials in school libraries. But the Ten Commandments are a bridge too far. The leftwing media see this bill for the challenge to the system that it is and have acted accordingly.

Democratic staffer celebrates having his federal student loans forgiven, earning wave of backlash on X

Ben Kamens — who, according to his LinkedIn profile, works as communications director for the office of Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio — earned a tsunami of backlash for celebrating the cancellation of his student debt and thanking President Joe Biden."Just got a call to let me know my student debt has been canceled. This is why elections matter. Thanks @JoeBiden," Kamens tweeted.'This reflects so poorly on the Dems.'His post included a photo of a document that reads, "Congratulations! The Biden-Harris Administration has forgiven your federal student loan(s) listed below with Nelnet in full." The document listed two loans, including one with an "Original Principle Balance" of $2,750 and another that had an original principle of $5,500."My job was paying it down for me ahead of schedule, but I'm happy to let the government cancel it instead of paying it off $400 a month and letting interest accrue," Kamens wrote in another tweet.Actor Dean Cain told Kamens he should thank taxpayers instead of Biden: "You're thanking @JoeBiden ??? Is HE the one who paid off the loan you VOLUNTARILY took? You should be thanking the American taxpayer -- especially those didn't or couldn't afford to go to college.""What a tool! Does this deadbeat know the loan he signed for was paid by truck drivers, carpenters, plumbers, mechanics & chumps like me who worked 40 hrs a week to pay for my college? He thanks Biden but Joe didn't use HIS money-he used $ of working ppl," former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee wrote.Greg Gutfeld tweeted, "You're welcome. Freeloader.""Glorified welfare," Dana Loesch wrote."Joe Biden is robbing from hardworking plumbers, electricians, and mechanics to pay off the student loans from congressional staffers ahead of schedule. This reflects so poorly on the Dems," Steve Guest declared.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
