Colluding With Power: ABC‚ CNN‚ MSNBC Begin New Year with Softballs for KJP

On Tuesday morning as more Americans returned to work‚ ABC’s Good Morning America‚ CNN This Morning‚ and MSNBC’s Morning Joe partnered with their allies in the Biden administration to forcefeed viewers White House propaganda in the form of softball interviews with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. ABC shamelessly had a Jean-Pierre predecessor — co-host and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos — interview her and billed it as a chance “to discuss President Biden’s priorities and challenges in the year ahead.”     “A lot of the polls show [Biden] — especially in the battleground states — trailing or tied with Donald Trump. What does the White House think about that? How can you turn it around‚” he asked. Jean-Pierre offered up the first of many laughers‚ proclaiming Biden “has accomplished more in three years than any other President has been able to do in two terms” to go with an economy that’s “working”. Following laborious talk about disparate issues of abortion‚ guns‚ and vets‚ Stephanopoulos had two open-ended softballs on foreign policy: White House also facing national security challenges‚ including the war in the Middle East and the potential now for a wider war with Iran‚ now that they’ve sent a warship into the Red Sea. We’ve seen these battles with the Houthi rebels over the last several days. Are you concerned about a wider war? (....) The war in Ukraine is grinding on‚ it seemed to escalate over the last several days‚ but this aid package is still stalled in Congress. Are you confident you can get it done early this year? Thanks to Stephanopoulos refusing to interject on her tome-sized answers‚ the Clinton official allowed her to run out the clock and left time for not a question‚ but acknowledgment of the border crisis: “Also tied up in those negotiations‚ border security. Many American cities now overwhelmed with this immigration crisis.” Given the lack of time remaining‚ Stephanopoulos did nothing to challenge her answer ripping Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) for making American less safe by bussing and flying illegal immigrants to major cities away from his state (which would‚ therefore‚ be an admission that illegal immigrant criminals should be taken off the street). CNN presented the only sorts of challenges and‚ not surprisingly‚ they came from the left as fill-in co-host Audie Cornish brought up student loan debt and urged Biden to use more executive orders. A former NPR host who joined the network to launch a show that never premiered on CNN+ (R.I.P.)‚ Cornish couldn’t have started with an easier question: “We want to talk both domestic and international‚ but I want to get a sense first from you what is the White House considering a priority in this first month of the year?” Jean-Pierre went on a winding answer listing pieces of legislation that weren’t even signed in 2023‚ but Cornish interjected to swoon: “[Y]ou’re making some excellent points about the macroeconomy. But you alluded to some kitchen table issues — drug prices‚ for one. Also‚ housing is another issue. Education is another issue.” She then invoked student loans and‚ while the cross-talk would normally indicate disagreement‚ it sure didn’t (click “expand”): CORNISH: The student loan issue was not something addressed by the White House in the end in a comprehensive way‚ according to many young voters. Are you going to try to finish those jobs‚ in particular? JEAN-PIERRE: So‚ I’m just going to take a step — let me just deal with the student loan issue for a second. Look‚ the President put forth a plan. He wanted to keep this promise on dealing with the student loan debt that is really crushing families across the country. And he took steps even though the plan that he put forth was stopped certainly — CORNISH: Do you think that — JEAN-PIERRE: — by folks in Congress. CORNISH: — do you think that argument — well‚ I want to just jump in here because — JEAN-PIERRE: No‚ no‚ no. But I — CORNISH: — because there is an issue with young voters. JEAN-PIERRE: No‚ I’m going to answer your question. CORNISH: And I want to make — because they have heard from you that essentially‚ this is something the President — JEAN-PIERRE: Yeah. CORNISH: — has tried to do. And do you think that over time they start to feel like — JEAN-PIERRE: Yeah. CORNISH: — trying isn’t enough? Cornish went gentle on immigration‚ asking “what’s the [administration’s] response” to Democratic mayors “calling for federal support to manage the influx of migrants to their areas.” Jean-Pierre bashed Abbott as she did to Stephanopoulos and went unchallenged. With time running out‚ Cornish sounded like a slightly paranoid suburban Democrat calling for Biden to rule by even more edicts: I just want to add that the President has done some things in his capacity‚ right? He has made extra effort to expand border — if not wall‚ barriers. He has made some changes in policy. Are there more things on the executive side you see as being an option in 2024? Pivoting to Morning Joe‚ co-host Mika Brzezinski’s first question was perhaps the most challenging as she asked whether there’s “more good news to come on the economy” and argued it was “a little perilous to label an economy‚ like Bidenomics” if it ever crashes. Nearly three minutes later‚ Jean-Pierre finished and co-host Willie Geist brought up the recent trend of horrendous polling for Biden. Instead of digging into why that’s happening‚ he simply asked if she could “explain those numbers.” Over 90 seconds later‚ he tried again with the same verbiage. Way Too Early host‚ Politico writer‚ and Biden tool Jonathan Lemire ended the powwow with a lament about the Biden impeachment inquiry (click “expand”): LEMIRE: Congress comes back next week with a lot on the to-do list. So‚ we know the White House has been pushing for the supplemental‚ border security deal for aid — aid to — aid in Ukraine‚ of course‚ the government funding deadline also looms. But‚ I wanted to ask you about something that a lot of Republicans are really focusing on right now and that is the impeachment inquiry into the — into the President. And‚ you know‚ the White House has made clear they don’t believe there’s any evidence there‚ but talk to us about how you are preparing for what is coming‚ you know‚ in the weeks and months ahead‚ which‚ if nothing else‚ will be a drain on staff‚ time‚ personnel‚ and resources. JEAN-PIERRE: So‚ look‚ the White House counsel is dealing with this...[Y]ou said it‚ Jonathan. There is no evidence. And it’s not just coming from Democrats. It is coming from Republicans‚ as well. There is no there there. And it’s so unfortunate that Republicans in Congress want to focus on the — on the President’s family instead of the American family. We want to work with them in a bipartisan way...[W]e just talked about a list of things that I discussed‚ that we discussed‚ that we really need to work on for the American family‚ whether it’s — whether it’s gun violence prevention. We were able to... put out a significant‚ bipartisan legislation to deal with gun violence‚ the first one in 30 years. We need to do that. We need to continue to work together on border security. The President‚ first day in his administration...he put forward was a comprehensive immigration law...We appreciate the negotiations that are currently happening in the Senate. It’s headed in the right direction. We want to come up with a bipartisan agreement...There’s a lot of ways that we can work with Congress instead of them going after the President’s family. They should really truly‚ truly focus on the American family. To see the relevant transcripts from January 2‚ click here (for ABC)‚ here (for CNN) and here (for MSNBC).

CNN's Egan: Harvard Pres. Didn't Steal Ideas‚ Was Simply 'Copying Other People's Writings'

It may only be the second day of 2024‚ but reporter Matt Egan joined Tuesday’s CNN News Central and got in an early contender for quote of the year when he claimed that resigning Harvard President Claudine Gay has not been accused of “stealing anyone’s ideas” just “copying other people’s writings without attribution” because that‚ apparently‚ is a big difference. After going through Gay’s inglorious last couple of months including her testimony on Capitol Hill where she couldn’t say definitively that calling for the genocide of Jews would violating Harvard’s code of conduct‚ Egan moved on to the plagiarism allegations.     He unintentionally hilariously claimed that‚ “then you layer on top of these plagiarism allegations where Claudine Gay has had to issue corrections‚ multiple corrections. Now‚ we should note that Claudine Gay has not been accused of stealing anyone's ideas in any of her writings. She’s been accused of‚ sort of‚ more like copying other people’s writings without attribution. So it's been more sloppy attribution than stealing anyone’s ideas‚ but nonetheless‚ you put all that together and you throw on top the political pressure and also the pressure from donors.” Egan then moved on to discuss how donors are threatening to withhold money and Gay’s resignation is “a tough moment for one of the most prestigious universities in America. Its brand has clearly taken a very big hit in just the past few months.” Returning to the issue of Gay’s plagiarism‚ undergraduates face greater scrutiny than Egan provided when he tried to insist that copying words is somehow different than ideas. The scandal was so serious that Gay had to resign‚ but the traditional media didn't find it noteworthy enough to do any original reporting‚ that job fell to conservative media. Here is a transcript for the January 2 show: CNN News Central 1/2/2024 1:19 PM ET MATT EGAN: As you mentioned‚ this is really a combination of multiple factors‚ right? It was the fact that the university's response to October 7 was criticized as not condemning Hamas forcefully enough. The Harvard Corporation actually criticized Claudine Gay’s initial response and then you throw on top of that the testimony‚ right? That-- it was more than four hours of testimony before lawmakers but it really just came down to a precious few minutes where Claudine Gay and the leaders of the University of Pennsylvania and MIT‚ they struggled to answer a question that a lot of people thought would be simple one to answer: is calling for the genocide of Jews against the school's code of conduct and they all fumbled that response and then you layer on top of these plagiarism allegations where Claudine Gay has had to issue corrections‚ multiple corrections.  Now‚ we should note that Claudine Gay has not been accused of stealing anyone's ideas in any of her writings. She’s been accused of‚ sort of‚ more like copying other people’s writings without attribution. So it's been more sloppy attribution than stealing anyone’s ideas‚ but nonetheless‚ you put all that together and you throw on top the political pressure and also the pressure from donors. In just the last few days‚ we've heard from another powerful donor threatening to-- actually promising to hold off donations to the school. So when you add all of that up‚ it seems as though it's been more than Claudine Gay's presidency could survive and‚ you know‚ this is a tough moment for one of the most prestigious universities in America. Its brand has clearly taken a very big hit in just the past few months.

SPEECH CONTROL: Reddit to Enforce Preemptive AI Censorship?

SPEECH CONTROL: Reddit to Enforce Preemptive AI Censorship?

Reddit has unleashed its newest tool to assist in censoring speech on its platform: artificial intelligence.  The platform’s CEO Steve Huffman revealed the Orwellian news during an interview with Fast Company. Fast Company (Fast Co.) absurdly headlined its December interview: “As the AI era begins‚ Reddit is leaning into its humanity.” Yet this supposed emphasis on “humanity” includes a new method of preemptively censoring user content before it’s posted‚ using artificial intelligence (AI) — and apparently never involving a human moderator in the action.  “Reddit is an open platform‚ and we love that‚” Huffman asserted to Fast Co. “I think community is a fundamental part of being human‚ and I think authenticity is nearly synonymous with the concept.” Yet the company now has a prototype for something called “post guidance‚” according to Huffman. It’s a preemptive measure to crush speech before it even gets to a human moderator who could then potentially censor it again. The AI prototype is set to flag content that supposedly violates a subreddit’s rules before that content can be published. “The new user gets feedback‚ and the mod[erator] doesn’t have to deal with it‚” Huffman told Fast Co.‚ indicating that the measure will cut down on the amount of work a volunteer moderator will have to do. It was unclear if the content would then not be allowed to publish‚ or whether the feedback will simply provide an obstacle to posting. The outlet also cited Huffman as listing vague concepts such as “willful bad behavior” and “bullying and hate speech” as being within its new AI censorship tool’s sights.  Reddit has a history of allowing moderators to promote rampant censorship of free speech when it doesn’t comport with leftist dogma. For instance‚ in July 2022‚ Reddit moderators attempted to ban the label “groomer” after LGBTQ activists called for increased censorship online. An MIT Technology Review piece on the COVID-19 lab leak origins theory was also censored by a Reddit moderator in March 2021. Conservatives are under attack. Woke New Year: What The Left Wants For 2024

Woke New Year: What The Left Wants For 2024

Welcome to Woke of the Weak‚ where I’ll update you about the most woke‚ progressive‚ insane‚ and crazy clips and stories that the left thinks are tolerable and well‚ point out why exactly they’re nuts.  This week we took a look at what the left seems to want heading into the new year. Unfortunately‚ it resembled what the left did in 2023 a bit too much! For starters‚ when the clock struck midnight in Times Square and the ball dropped to ring in the new year‚ cameras panned to none other than a gay couple making out. Let’s just say that I hope kids across the nation were already asleep and were not watching the program. But then again‚ the left wants wokesim spewed in every facet of our lives. That's why they’re starting with kids! In this episode we took a look at a little baby named Sparrow‚ who is being raised as "gender-fluid." Therefore‚ Sparrow is neither a girl or a boy‚ according to Sparrow’s parents. Speaking of child abuse‚ a mother of two "transgender” children testified to rally support for transgender kids. You don’t randomly end up with two trans kids. You create two trans kids‚ and that’s called grooming! While we’re on the topic of grooming‚ another mother insisted that she teaches her toddler to ask someone’s gender and that the way someone looks on the outside doesn’t mean that’s the gender that they actually are. Unironically though‚ we’ve got men trying their absolute hardest to dress like and pass as women. As you’re well aware‚ they’re failing. Similarly we’ve got men taking hormone shots to “become” women. Those dudes are failing‚ too. No medical intervention can or will ever change a man into a woman or a woman into a man. Biology doesn’t lie. What does lie is the man in the next clip‚ who decided to raise his young son as a daughter! This is child abuse and feeds a delusion - just like the delusion in the next clip in which another man explained that the idea of there being only two genders is rooted in colonialism and that white people created males and females. That’s giving white people a hell of a lot of credit! Finally we saw the abortion fairy who wants to replace positive pregnancy tests with abortion pills! Let’s hope and pray that 2024 stops prioritizing wokeness! Harvard president Claudine Gay resigns in disgrace‚ paints herself as a victim of 'racial animus'

Claudine Gay threw in the towel Tuesday‚ resigning as president of Harvard University after getting hit with six new plagiarism complaints. Gay said in a possibly original letter to the school community‚ "It is with a heavy heart but a deep love for Harvard that I write to share that I will be stepping down as president. This is not a decision I came to easily." "After consultation with members of the Corporation‚ it has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual‚" continued Gay. Gay painted herself as a victim‚ suggesting she found it frightening "to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus." The outgoing president indicated she would be returning to the faculty "and to the scholarship and teaching that are the lifeblood of what we do." Gay became the 30th president of Harvard University on July 1 after evidently playing up her leftist bona fides as Edgerley Dean of Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences‚ where she brought new emphasis to climate alarmism and identity politics. Ahead of her inauguration‚ Gay stated‚ "Today‚ we are in a moment of remarkable and accelerating change — socially‚ politically‚ economically‚ and technologically." It appears that Gay was unable to keep up with the accelerated change. Gay's presidency‚ the shortest-lived in Harvard's history‚ was dogged in recent months by multiple allegations of plagiarism and concerns over her response to growing anti-Semitism on campus. The Washington Free Beacon obtained a complaint filed Monday with the university‚ bringing the plagiarism allegations against Gay to nearly 50‚ implicating seven of her 17 published works‚ including her 1997 doctoral thesis. The latest complaint alleges that in a 2001 article‚ Gay plagiarized nearly a page of material straight from University of Wisconsin political science professor David Canon's 1999 book "Race‚ Redistricting‚ and Representation: The Unintended Consequences of Black Majority Districts" without quotations or so much as a citation. The university recently launched an investigation into the allegations against Gay. — (@) A unnamed undergraduate member of Harvard's Honor Council recently penned an op-ed for the Harvard Crimson calling on Gay "to resign for her numerous and serious violations of academic ethics." "When my peers are found responsible for multiple instances of inadequate citation‚ they are often suspended for an academic year‚" wrote the student. "When the president of their university is found responsible for the same types of infractions‚ the fellows of the Corporation ‘unanimously stand in support of’ her." Extra to allegedly trafficking in ideas and words not her own‚ Gay oversaw segregated graduation ceremonies and has drawn the ire of critics for lording over an apparent increase in anti-Semitic behavior on campus‚ costing the Ivy League institution over an estimated $1 billion in donations. During a congressional hearing early last month‚ she suggested that calls for the genocide of Jews could be protected under the university's policies on bullying and harassment "depending on the context." The Harvard Crimson indicated that university spokesman Jonathan L. Swain declined to comment on Gay's resignation. Like Blaze News? California equestrian admits to placing $2 million hit on husband‚ receives less than 4 years in prison

A high-maintenance equestrian previously known for being involved in a multimillion-dollar horse show in San Diego recently admitted to putting a $2 million hit on her husband. She has been sentenced to less than four years in prison for the crime‚ according to KNSD.Tatyana Remley‚ 43‚ pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit murder in connection with an attempt to get a mutual friend to murder her husband‚ Mark Remley. The verdict was determined in Vista Superior Court on Thursday.Tatyana also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a firearm that was not registered to her. While she was charged with a second gun-related crime‚ it was eventually dismissed as part of a plea deal‚ according to the report. As a result‚ she was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison. Tatyana was arrested in August as part of a sting operation at a Solana Beach Starbucks‚ per the New York Post. The arrest occurred just one month after her husband‚ Mark‚ discovered that she had tried to get a mutual friend to murder him for $2 million. Mark soon went to the authorities to report what he had learned from the same friend his wife had tried to bribe. He went on to say that she had burned his house down just days before arranging the hit. The debacle played out following the couple's 12-year marriage‚ during which they built a multimillion-dollar equestrian acrobatics show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego named Valitar. However‚ the show was soon canceled‚ leaving the performers and crew members with nothing. The couple filed for divorce‚ and reports have suggested that the two enacted violence against one another. The Post noted that the couple tried to rekindle their relationship a number of times over the years. In May‚ Tatyana accused her husband of three separate acts of violence: putting a gun to her head; chasing her around the house with a knife; and firing a gun in their home during an argument. She also claimed she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint while her husband watched. But it is unclear who the alleged perpetrators are in the incident.Leading up to Tatyana's imprisonment‚ the couple enjoyed a lavish life‚ driving sports cars‚ owning numerous homes‚ and even taking care of exotic pets. WATCH: Bill Maher makes Seth MacFarlane go silent with COVID rant

Seth MacFarlane may know how to create a hit show‚ but he doesn’t know much when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine — which he made clear in his tense appearance on "Club Random with Bill Maher." Maher‚ on the other hand‚ showed that the propaganda from the past few years hasn’t gotten to him. “If you already had the disease you have natural immunity‚” Maher told MacFarlane‚ who fired back‚ “That was debunked‚ though.” “It’s not debunked‚” Maher responded. “Don’t you know people who’ve had COVID four or five times? I do. That’s not natural immunity. There’s no immunity there‚” MacFarlane continued before Maher noted that those who keep getting COVID have probably “had too many vaccines.” MacFarlane then questioned Maher on whether or not he believes the vaccine gave people COVID. “There’s nothing unscientific about the fact that the vaccine‚ which does weaken you in order to strengthen you‚ but while you were in a weakened state — yes‚” Maher answered. Maher then went on to explain that everyone is different‚ and while some people who were in situations of compromised health already needed the shot — others didn’t. He explained to MacFarlane that he’s “assuming that all people are alike.” “And that is one of the giant fallacies in your way of thinking‚ we are not all alike‚” he added. “Djokovic didn’t need it. Aaron Rodgers didn’t need it‚” Maher said. “You completely want to shut your eyes to the fact that there are repercussions to all medical interventions including a vaccine!” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations‚ free speech‚ and big ideas with Dave Rubin‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.
