Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy battled with CNN’s Abby Phillip during a Wednesday night town hall on the network over remarks that he has made about the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington‚ D.C. Phillip asked Ramaswamy about remarks that he made at the most recent Republican presidential primary debate when he suggested that the riot was an inside job. “The next day‚ Capitol rioter Alan Hostetter highlighted your comments at his sentencing‚” she said. “He is going to prison for 11 years. Hostetter threatened members of Congress. He brought a hatchet‚ knives‚ pepper spray‚ stun batons‚ tactical gear to the U.S. Capitol.” “Are you concerned that a convicted felon like that is now promoting your comments in court?” she asked. Ramaswamy responded by saying that before he became a political candidate‚ he was “just consuming passive media‚” and that in the past‚ he would have labeled any talk about January 6 being “an inside job” as “crazy talk‚ fringe conspiracy theory nonsense.” “I can tell you now‚ having gone somewhat deep in this‚ it’s not‚” he said. “I mean‚ the reality is this. First Lady Jill Biden and the White House were blasted for what’s been called a “bizarre‚” “freaky‚” and “cringey” White House Christmas Video — which many have compared to something one might see coming out of the Capitol District in the “Hunger Games” movies. The first lady started trending on X on Thursday after she released the video — which featured a dance group tapping wildly all throughout the White House and wearing strange‚ over-the-top costumes.  She captioned her post‚ “A bit of magic‚ wonder‚ and joy brought to you by the talented tappers of Dorrance Dance‚ performing their playful interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite. Bizarre. Freaky.” Others included side-by-side clips of the strange video against former First Lady Melania Trump’s Christmas video from 2020 during her time in the White House with former President Donald Trump. “Jill Biden’s Psycho Christmas White House or Melania Trump’s Peaceful Christmas White House?” one person wrote. Another added‚ “How utterly tacky‚ tasteless and ANTI Christmas. New York City is spending tens of thousands of dollars on meals for illegal migrants that end up in the trash. About 70‚000 meals that cost $11 each were marked “wasted” in less than three weeks recently by DocGo‚ a medical services company tapped by the city to provide migrant care‚ according to internal company documents reported by The New York Times. The meals‚ meant to be eaten by about 4‚000 migrants in DocGo’s care‚ were tossed between October 22 to November 10‚ records show. The city pays DocGo up to $33 a day per migrant for three meals a day. This means that the wasted food cost as much as $776‚000 or about $39‚000 a day in taxpayer dollars. At that level of waste‚ the price tag would top $1 million a month. As the migrant crisis ramped up‚ the city awarded DocGo a no-bid $432 million contract to provide migrant care‚ even though the company had no experience in this area. The city previously hired DocGo during the pandemic to provide COVID testing and vaccinations. DocGo is now ordering fewer meals to try to reduce the amount of waste‚ a spokesman for the city agency that oversees the contract told the Times. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development said it is trying to cut $66 million from the program by the end of the year. The average price of the meals has also been lowered to $7.82. With the same waste rate‚ those cuts would reduce the wasted taxpayer dollars to about $28‚000 a day or $800‚000 a month‚ the Times calculated. Meanwhile‚ Mayor Eric Adams has announced billions of dollars in budget cuts due to the migrant crisis that will affect the NYPD‚ public schools‚ and sanitation‚ among other sectors. I respect their anger. I respect what they are feeling right now in this moment because many of them are struggling‚” Adams said this week in response to the negative reaction from New Yorkers over the budget cuts. “I don’t have deportation powers. I don’t have the power to turn buses around‚” the mayor added. New York City is a sanctuary city‚ or a city that often refuses to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to prevent illegal migrants from deportation. However‚ Adams has hinted at cooperating with immigration authorities on some level as the city struggles to metabolize tens of thousands of new illegal migrants. Since last year‚ more than 130‚000 migrants have arrived‚ many of whom are still being housed on the city’s dime‚ causing New York City’s homeless shelters to reach their limits and forcing the city to open new facilities.

California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared on late night television on Wednesday to bash Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after getting walloped by the Republican presidential candidate during a recent debate. The Newsom-DeSantis debate‚ hosted by Fox News personality Sean Hannity‚ got so out of control that Newsom’s wife had to intervene to prevent it from going into overtime because Newsom was getting embarrassed‚ pundits said. Newsom’s team later claimed that the debate was “rigged.” “I’m dead serious about this. I have developed a lot of animus towards him because of his animus towards all of you‚” Newsom claimed. “You know‚ this guy’s out there scapegoating vulnerable communities. He’s attacking minorities‚ attacking women‚ and I don’t like it. And I wanted to push back against it. And I felt like the party was a little timid on all this. I mean‚ you know‚ he’s out there talking about anti-woke‚ and I mean this‚ for me‚ it’s not anti-woke. What he really means is anti-black.” “He’s out there censoring historic facts‚ he’s rewriting history‚” Newsom claimed. “He was out there‚ you know‚ he eliminated AP African American Studies. He said slavery was somehow some workforce development program. And he doubled down on that. Rabbi Hirschy Zarchi said Harvard University is failing to protect the Jewish community at a Hanukkah event attended by embattled president Claudine Gay on Wednesday night.  “It pains me to have to say‚ sadly‚ that Jew-hate and anti-Semitism is thriving on this campus‚” Zarchi said at the menorah lighting ceremony. “26 years I’ve given my life to this community. I’ve never felt so alone.” Gay faced calls to be ousted from her position amid controversy following anti-Israel demonstrations and letters circulating on campus and after accusations of plagiarism and a controversial Congressional testimony on anti-Semitism in colleges and universities. Zarchi said the last time Gay was with his organization was during their annual large Shabbat meal on October 13. “We heard how Harvard pledges to have our back‚” he said recalling what Gay told attendees during that event. “We didn’t feel it last night.” Zarchi spoke of several instances where he felt he was targeted in recent weeks including during the previous night’s lighting when a woman interrupted and screamed that anti-Semitism is a “hoax.” The Jewish Harvard Chaplain said he was advised by the Harvard Police to get security to protect his family after hosting a screening of IDF-released footage of Hamas’s atrocities earlier this month. Zarchi and Harvard University did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
