Gag: NBC’s Roker Shills for Bidens in Another Puffball Easter Egg Roll Interview

On Monday‚ NBC’s Today sent co-host Al Roker for yet another softball interview with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden ahead of the 2024 White House Easter Egg Roll and‚ while it wasn’t as infamously ludicrous as 2023‚ Roker still did his part channeling North Korean state-run TV news anchors by wondering how he’ll get Americans to “engage and get out there to vote” for his reelection.     Something Roker wouldn’t be caught dead covering during the Trump years‚ he began the nearly five-minute chat by asking them how their Easter went. This led to the first of many Biden answers consisting of slurring his words and sudden whispers: ROKER: Happy day after Easter. How was Easter for you guys? PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Great. We spent it up at Camp David as a whole family. My dad used to say family is the beginning‚ middle‚ and end. We had them up there. We went to Mass on Saturday and we had a great Easter egg hunt. We actually take these plastic eggs and put some dollars in them. ROKER: Oh‚ nice! A little cash. JILL BIDEN: We’re still missing one. Roker shifted to the First Lady with a softball about the Egg Roll: “[W]hat’s the theme this year? This is something close to your heart.” After Jill Biden said it was again “Egg-ucation” with stations on the South Lawn covering school subjects like reading‚ physical education‚ and science‚ Roker went back to President Biden: “When you think back on — on this time so far‚ what are one — some of your favorite memories‚ Mr. President?” This gave the President the chance to go full creep: “Well‚ my favorite memories are a little girl who was having trouble with her egg‚ looked at me — she’s three-years old‚ said‚ ‘can you help me‚ Mr. President.’ So‚ I gave it a push. That’s my favorite.” Following an out-of-touch Biden answer about how he loves “opening up” the White House so he can see “average Americans just walking around”‚ Roker went full Democratic National Committee staffer with a puffball query about how Biden will win this “final campaign”and have the right “message to people about why they’ve got to engage and get out there to vote coming up.” Biden bumbled his way through that sounded as though he wasn’t running as the incumbent and in charge for the last four years (click “expand”): PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: I think people are going to surprise people again. They’re going to engage. It’s an overwhelming response when we’re out on the road. Look‚ we have tens of thousands of people contributing five‚ $10 a — a — a pop. We’ve opened up 100 headquarters. We have people waiting to get engaged. I mean‚ I just think people are so tired of the negativity that is propagated that they just — they just want to get engaged. They want to change things‚ and I’m optimistic‚ I really am. ROKER: When — when people are saying‚ you know‚ but Mr. President‚ I’m feeling — I’m feeling‚ you know‚ my buck isn’t going as far‚ what do you say to those folks about the economy and what’s going on? PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Well‚ I say we have the best economy in the world. We got to make it better. We really do have the best economy in the world. Jobs are up more than they’ve ever been. We’re in a situation where the lowest unemployment in 50 years is maintained. We have people who are just — but people — look‚ I think we’re going to find out that what happened is consequence of the crisis we had in health is going to have a lasting effect. I mean‚ we’ve got to get people to move again. We’re — we’re ready. I think the country is ready to come together in a way that I never — I mean that sincerely. I’m — I’m truly optimistic. ROKER: Yeah. And how are you feeling going into this last campaign? JILL BIDEN: I feel great. You know‚ I’ve been traveling across the country. People are ready to go and we’re going to win this. Roker concluded by inviting the Bidens to join him for lunch at Ben’s Chili Bowl‚ but he had one last eye roll of a question for the President about what it’s been like to live in the White House (which elicited another creepy answer): ROKER: And — and as far as — you know‚ your — your memories of this house‚ you know — I mean we’re assuming‚ I don’t know what — what the future holds‚ but what are your favorite memories about this place? PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Our kids jumping in bed with us. Our grandkids when they’re down here. Just sneaking up and jumping in bed with us. That’s my favorite memory here. They love it. They love wandering through the halls. They love — there’s two floors upstairs. A lot of bedrooms. It’s a private residence and they just love coming down. Stephanopoulos Uses Kennedy Cult Doc to Campaign Against Trump/RFK Jr.

Stephanopoulos Uses Kennedy Cult Doc to Campaign Against Trump/RFK Jr.

The Kennedy family has a cult following in the Democratic Party and an endorsement from them has been viewed as critical in the primaries‚ hence the left’s concern with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. running for president as an independent against President Biden. This meant that irony levels were off the charts on Monday’s Good Morning America when ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos utilized Rory Kennedy’s cult documentary to campaign against former President Donald Trump and her brother Bobby. On the show to hawk her new HBO documentary about the Synanon cult‚ Stephanopoulos queued Kennedy to draw parallels between the cult’s founder‚ Charles Dederich Sr.‚ and Trump. “And you also say that we are seeing the kind of dynamic we saw in Synanon with a cult-like leader playing out in our politics today‚” he stated. Of course‚ Kennedy obliged: Well‚ I think so. I think we are seeing the cult personality. And what I have learned in making this documentary [The Synanon Fix] is that in times where there's uncertainty and it feels precarious‚ the world around us‚ that people are drawn to alternative models. There are supposedly 10‚000 cults in the United States today. So‚ I think there's a lot of people who are drawn to different leadership and being pulled into ideas that maybe aren't consistent with their moral compass. “And I think we can learn a lot from this program about what's happening in the world today‚” she added.     It’s incredibly hypocritical for a Kennedy to chide others for “cult-like” behavior. The Kennedys have been treated like royalty in the Democratic Party for decades and their political endorsements‚ handed out from the family compound‚ have been coveted. The media put a lot of weight on them to‚ trumpeting their endorsements of candidates Obama and Biden like a new pope was selected. And for the liberal media‚ describing something as a “cult” was actually good when it was used for Democrats. In 2019‚ NPR anchor Audie Cornish praised Obama as the “ultimate cult of personality candidate.” For his final question‚ Stephanopoulos teed Kennedy up to attack her brother’s campaign. “Your brother‚ of course‚ Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president right now. You say this is the most important election of our lifetime and that a vote for your brother is actually dangerous?” he wondered. “Well‚ my biggest concern with Bobby's run is that he is going to take votes away from Biden‚” Kennedy said. “And I think this election is going to come down to a handful of votes and a handful of states. And I am concerned that voting for Bobby is going to take votes from Biden and lead to a Trump election. And I am very concerned what that will do to our country and to the world over the ensuing four years.” Stephanopoulos’s enthusiasm to for the cult mudslinging was rich in its own right since he was a lackey for President Clinton. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s Good Morning America April 1‚ 2024 8:42:52 a.m. Eastern (…) GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: And you also say that we are seeing the kind of dynamic we saw in Synanon with a cult-like leader playing out in our politics today. RORY KENNEDY: Well‚ I think so. And I think we can learn a lot from this program about what's happening in the world today. STEPHANOPOULOS: One other question about what's happening in the world today‚ before you go. Your brother‚ of course‚ Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president right now. You say this is the most important election of our life time and that a vote for your brother is actually dangerous? KENNEDY: Well‚ my biggest concern with Bobby's run is that he is going to take votes away from Biden. And I think this election is going to come down to a handful of votes and a handful of states. And I am concerned that voting for Bobby is going to take votes from Biden and lead to a Trump election. And I am very concerned what that will do to our country and to the world over the ensuing four years. STEPHANOPOULOS: Rory‚ thanks for coming on today.

CBS Host Ed O'Keefe Prods DC Archbishop to Categorize Biden as a 'Cafeteria Catholic'

CBS Host Ed O'Keefe Prods DC Archbishop to Categorize Biden as a 'Cafeteria Catholic'

On Easter Sunday‚ CBS’s Face the Nation turned to two prominent Washington religious leaders: Cardinal Wilton Gregory‚ the Catholic archbishop of Washington and Rev. Mariann Budde‚ Bishop of Washington for the Episcopal Church‚ which is politically a better fit for Biden. White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe was the substitute host‚ and he seemed most interested in underlining how Biden faithfully attends Catholic services‚ and not so much whether he’s in complete contradiction with Catholic teaching on the hot-button social and sexual issues. He kept pressing the Cardinal on if Biden “resonates” with Catholic voters: ED O'KEEFE: In the case of the president‚ do you get a sense that his regular attendance and adherence to the faith resonates with American Catholics? CARDINAL GREGORY: I could say that he's very sincere about his faith‚ but like a number of Catholics‚ he picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or even contradicting other parts. There is a phrase that we have used in the past‚ a cafeteria Catholic‚ you choose that which is attractive and dismiss that which is challenging. REV. BUDDE: Or‚ as Thomas Aquinas would say‚ you allow your conscience to guide you. Gregory has been very careful in his public remarks on the president‚ so even dropping the “cafeteria Catholic” line was a bit surprising – more surprising than Budde’s Biden boosterism. O’Keefe played dumb about Biden contradicting the church aggressively on abortion and on this day‚ promoting a “Transgender Day of Visibility” on social media. ED O'KEEFE: Is there something on the menu he's not ordering‚ in your view‚ so to speak? WILTON CARDINAL GREGORY: Well‚ I would say there are things‚ especially in terms of the life issues‚ there are things that he chooses to ignore or he uses the current situation as a political pawn rather than saying‚ look‚ my church believes this – Budde interrupted: BUDDE: It's also possible to be a practitioner of the faith as a public leader and not require everyone that you lead in your country to be guided by all of the precepts of your faith‚ right? O'KEEFE: And in my coverage of him‚ it seems that is what he believes. BUDDE: That's what I would interpret. There’s a point that a Catholic president shouldn’t impose every Catholic teaching into public policy. But O’Keefe and Budde are seeking to have it both ways: Biden’s a “devout Catholic” and a devout Democrat‚ and never mind how much they can’t logically coexist. O’Keefe kept pressing on Biden’s “resonance.” ED O'KEEFE: Is there any Biden effect in the pews‚ perhaps? GREGORY: I would not put a lot of emphasis on that. ED O'KEEFE: Okay. GREGORY: He does attend church regularly with great‚ you know‚ devotion. But he also steps aside some of the hot-button issues or uses the hot-button issues as a political tool‚ which it's not – it is not the way I think we would want our faith to be used. Budde then gushed over how she "admires tremendously" Biden's attendance at funerals at their Washington National Cathedral‚ pretending it's amazing that a politician would stay for the whole service.  PS: Earlier in the show‚ O'Keefe pressed Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) to criticize Donald Trump for ads selling a "God Bless the USA" Bible:  "I got to ask‚ President Trump this past week unveiled what he calls the God Bless the USA Bible‚ which not only has the words of scripture in it‚ but also the text of the Constitution‚ the Bill of Rights‚ and a few other things. Do you think it's appropriate for the former president‚ for the likely Republican nominee to be selling such a product?" When Turner detoured around an answer‚ O’Keefe pressed again: "Okay but you wouldn't buy a copy of this Trump Bible‚ would you?" Turner said "I'm not writing a check for that."

Law Prof Warns SCOTUS Decision in Key Case Could Be Undoing of Free Speech Online

One legal expert is telling Americans that abridgment‚ not coercion‚ is the standard in a landmark free speech rights case. Philip Hamburger‚ a Columbia University legal scholar and CEO of the New Civil Liberties Alliance‚ took on what he argued is an incorrect standard for a landmark case. As the free speech case‚ Murthy v. Missouri‚ is before the U.S. Supreme Court‚ George Mason University Law Professor Ilya Somin argued for Reason Magazine that government “coercion” is the standard in determining constitutional violations. Hamburger‚ however‚ who represents most of the case’s individual plaintiffs‚ explained in a piece in Reason that the standard is abridgment‚ and the government does not have the power to violate Americans’ free speech‚ even if provable coercion is not involved. The “First Amendment bars government from ‘abridging’ the freedom of speech‚ and thus bars reducing that freedom‚” Hamburger explained. He also noted that the amendment bars the federal government from “prohibiting” the free exercise of religion. Thus‚ abridgment and prohibition are distinct and separate standards. Indeed‚ Hamburger argued‚ “freedom of speech is violated by a mere reducing of that freedom‚ whether or not through coercion.” Some verbs in the Constitution are “generic‚” but the First Amendment language is not‚ he wrote. Hamburger also cited past scholarship on abridgment language about freedom of speech. The specificity seems deliberate and important. Therefore‚ if the government and Big Tech did collude to reduce free speech‚ that is a constitutional violation‚ even without specific coercion‚ according to Hamburger. Hamburger also expressed concern about the apparent lack of understanding of this distinction in the Murthy v. Missouri case. “The Supreme Court's overemphasis on coercion has invited censorship‚” he wrote‚ arguing that this emphasis “leaves government confident that it can suppress speech simply by working not too coercively through private parties.” Yes‚ much of the online censorship involves “cooperation” between the government and Big Tech companies‚ and thus the danger of focusing only on coercion. Even looking at previous Supreme Court cases‚ Hamburger added‚ “consensual arrangements can violate the First Amendment.” This is especially significant‚ the professor noted‚ because “there's also a longstanding constitutional principle that government cannot use private parties to do its dirty work.” Hamburger further stated that any government “policy of any sort to suppress lawful speech — whether because it is false or offensive — is forbidden” by the First Amendment. And he concluded‚  “The coercion-consent measure of free speech is utterly mistaken. It is wrong about coercion‚ it is wrong about consent‚ and it practically invites government censorship. So‚ if the Supreme Court takes such an approach in Murthy v. Missouri‚ the case will stand out as one of the most abysmal First Amendment decisions in the nation's history.” Somin had argued that the Supreme Court should focus on coercion and that government “persuasion” to censor does not necessarily violate the First Amendment. Murthy v. Missouri oral arguments were heard at the Supreme Court March 18. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency and an equal footing for conservatives. Why you should consider cheering for Angel Reese over Caitlin Clark

Why you should consider cheering for Angel Reese over Caitlin Clark

Crazy as it sounds‚ I could end up rooting for Angel Reese over Caitlin Clark on Monday night.I’m no fan of the Louisiana State University women’s basketball player who will star opposite the Iowa sensation in the most fascinating women’s basketball game ever played.“Bayou Barbie” versus “Show White” for the right to advance to the Final Four is the most culturally relevant basketball collision in 45 years‚ since Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Larry “The Hick from French Lick” Bird met in the men’s NCAA title game.In 1979‚ I rooted for Magic. As an 11-year-old boy‚ no athlete captured my imagination the way the 6-foot-9 point guard did with his charismatic smile and no-look passes. I was obsessed with Magic and the fast-paced style of play he popularized. Eighteen years later‚ Tiger Woods’ golf ascension sparked a similar sports obsession‚ only greater. I never cared for golf before Tiger began winning tournaments. Woods transformed me. He made me care about Ernie Els‚ Jim Juryk‚ David Duval‚ Mark O’Meara‚ Phil Mickelson‚ Sergio Garcia‚ and so many others. He forced me to care about the history of golf‚ and I learned to appreciate Tom Watson‚ Jack Nicklaus‚ Arnold Palmer‚ and Greg Norman. Caitlin Clark has had the exact same impact on me as Magic and Tiger. I’m obsessed with her. She’s compelled me to learn more and more about the women’s game. Southern California’s JuJu Watkins is my second-favorite player. I love Caitlin Clark. But I’ve come to expect young athletes to fold to the woke agenda. Here’s the difference. There was never a moment when Magic Johnson took the court or Tiger Woods strolled on a golf course that I wasn’t clearly rooting for them. I could be rooting for Angel Reese now. It’s crazy. Reese is arguably the most overrated athlete of my lifetime. She’s more overrated than boxer Gerry Cooney‚ who fought Larry Holmes for the heavyweight crown in 1982. All that Angel Reese really brings to the matchup is her in-your-face‚ hey-look-at-me attitude. Her claim to fame is taunting Caitlin Clark. That’s it. She’s not that skilled. She’s not Larry Bird or Magic Johnson. She’s Greg Kelser‚ the Michigan State wingman who benefited from Magic’s transcendent playmaking ability. Reese is a solid post player. She knocks down five to eight put-backs per game and grabs 10 to 12 rebounds. Solid work. She’s not a star. She’s not a costar. So‚ why might I be rooting for her tonight?Because LSU coach Kim Mulkey is the real star of women’s college hoops. Mulkey is the real villain‚ the force who threatens the left wing’s narrative on all of sports. Caitlin is the most interesting and electrifying athlete in all of sports. Mulkey is the most dangerous person in sports. She’s the disruptor the left-wing establishment wants to destroy. The left hates Mulkey because she’s the antithesis of the left's chosen savior‚ South Carolina coach Dawn Staley. The discrimination‚ vitriol‚ and unfairness that Staley pretends to receive‚ the mainstream media actually directs toward Mulkey.Over the weekend‚ as the Lady Tigers prepared for their Sweet 16 matchup against UCLA‚ the Washington Post published an 8‚000-word takedown of Mulkey. The much-anticipated piece framed Mulkey as paranoid‚ vindictive‚ isolated‚ mean-spirited‚ and unloving. A week prior‚ Mulkey and her lawyers preemptively threatened a lawsuit over the article‚ which I’m sure forced Post editors to tone down the attack. But the gist of the attack remained: While a coach at Baylor‚ a religious university‚ Mulkey refused to worship the LGBTQ Alphabet Mafia. She advised Brittney Griner and other homosexual players to keep their private lives private.Mulkey wasn’t a fan of tattoos and constantly changing hair colors. She preferred her players to present themselves as women at all times and not as androgynous hoopers. Mulkey‚ without saying it‚ clearly believes in two genders. She patrols the sidelines in flamboyant‚ highly feminine outfits because she wants to make a statement that there is just as much strength in traditional femininity as in the hypermasculine appearance of Griner and others. For all of this and more‚ Mulkey is demonized. How dare she not virtue signal support for Griner when she was incarcerated in Russia for her immature choice to carry illegal drugs into a foreign country? How dare she prefer a locker room environment free of the complications of romantic relationships between teammates?A writer for the Los Angeles Times took the attack on Mulkey to new levels on Friday. He said LSU’s game with UCLA was a battle of good versus evil. He labeled the Tigers the “dirty debutantes.” That label is attached to a pornographic video series. The writer called LSU dirty whores. Their crime? Playing for Mulkey‚ a heterosexual Christian woman who won’t bow to the secular woke. It’s comical. Mulkey takes the kind of heat and criticism the secular woke pretends Staley gets. Staley‚ who dresses like a teenage boy‚ is worshiped. She manufactures discrimination and victimhood.A Duke volleyball player falsely claimed BYU students serenaded her with racial slurs. Without any corroborating evidence‚ Staley canceled a basketball game at BYU over safety concerns. When an investigation debunked the story‚ Staley never apologized. Last year‚ during the NCAA tournament‚ Staley smeared Iowa coach Lisa Bluder as racist. Bluder said in a press conference that rebounding against South Carolina was like getting into a “bar fight.” Staley climbed on a cross and acted like Bluder led a pregame Klan rally.“We’re not bar fighters. We’re not thugs. We’re not monkeys‚” Staley whined. “We’re not street fighters. This team exemplifies how you need to approach basketball on the court and off the court. And I do think that that’s sometimes brought into the game‚ and it hurts.” Staley is why I might be rooting for Angel Reese on Monday night. Reese and Clark are going to disappear into the abyss of the WNBA. For the next decade‚ the cold war between Staley and Mulkey is going to define women’s college basketball. I love Caitlin Clark. But I’ve come to expect young athletes to fold to the woke agenda. There is too much pressure and too much financial incentive for them to stand strong on their beliefs. Kim Mulkey won’t fold. She’s not perfect‚ but she’s battle tested. I think Mulkey and the Tigers have a better chance at beating South Carolina than Iowa.

Disney lost $134M on 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny‚' including $80M in postproduction to de-age Harrison Ford

Financial documents out of the United Kingdom have revealed that "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" lost Disney over $130 million due to an explosive budget that included nearly $80 million in postproduction efforts.Disney's latest "Indiana Jones" franchise installment saw much of its production take place in the United Kingdom in order to capitalize on an incentive for film companies that shoot in the region. The 25.5% cash reimbursement incentive means that many studios create companies in the U.K. for this purpose‚ but it also has meant increased transparency. These companies must file financial statements that indicate staffing‚ salaries‚ costs‚ and reimbursement they receive‚ according to Forbes.Such documents revealed that Disney lost approximately $134.2 million after adjusting for budget‚ theater takings‚ and postproduction costs. The aftereffects‚ which predominantly required a drastic de-aging of star Harrison Ford for a dramatic train chase scene‚ cost Disney approximately $79 million. This reportedly brought the budget to a monstrous total of $387.2 million.Though the movie grossed about $384 million worldwide‚ the studio receives approximately half of theater earnings‚ which landed Disney at approximately $192 million. What is seemingly a massive total is actually half of the movie's prequel‚ "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The 2023 adventure seemingly took in a similar dollar figure to the first three Indiana Jones movies from the 1980s but clearly loses when adjusted for inflation. The film was plagued from the start with rumors‚ reshoots‚ and secret scenes shrouded in mystery‚ as fans raged online about the possibility that Harrison Ford's lead character would be replaced in the film.In June 2021‚ a movie insider revealed that there could be two endings considered for the movie. "In one of the rumored endings‚ young Indiana Jones dies alongside old Indiana Jones‚ and Phoebe Waller-Bridge swoops in like a vulture‚ picks the hat up‚ and takes his place moving forward‚” the insider claimed.Once these rumors leaked‚ fans were not pleased at the idea of the iconic character getting the Disney treatment from studio head Kathleen Kennedy.Reports that the studio got the message from fans were seemingly confirmed in 2023. The same insider claimed at the time that an on-set leaker told him that filmmakers seemed to have cut any of the scenes that would have the female character taking over the lead role. In the end‚ Ford hung onto his role and his trademark hat.Disney had an abysmal 2023 and went into 2024 with ongoing wars over board seats‚ production‚ and the overall direction of the movie studio. Despite Disney's parks and recreation sector having a strong post-COVID bounce-back‚ losses generated by streaming platform Disney+ have seen share prices fall by around 40% compared to a peak price of over $200 in March 2021.Like Blaze News? Turns out Boeing isn't the only entity that should be blamed for plane malfunctions

Boeing has dominated the news cycle as its airplanes continue to mysteriously fall apart and malfunction mid-air. While Boeing seems to be the obvious culprit‚ Glenn Beck isn’t so sure that it’s purely the company's fault anymore. Glenn had a conversation with a good friend who was a pilot at American Airlines for 30-40 years — and that good friend was fed up with the news on Boeing. The former pilot pointed out that all planes from Boeing not only receive a final check‚ but they receive a final check from the government. “What I’m thinking is there’s a problem with maintenance‚ which would be a problem with the unions‚ because nobody has personal pride of ownership anymore‚” Glenn recalls his friend saying. “He’s not saying they’re innocent‚ but he is saying that they’re getting way more than their share of the blame for this‚” Glenn explains. “It’s not surprising that an institution would be taken down by the media‚” Stu Burguiere adds. While the blame may still be Boeing’s to take‚ Glenn wonders who else might deserve a share. “Is it Boeing? Is it the FAA and Pete Buttigieg‚ secretary of transportation‚ is it the airline‚ is it the mechanics?” Glenn asks‚ before opening up his question to another former airline pilot named Michael from Kansas. “I’m a retired captain with United‚” he tells Glenn. “I don’t think it’s Boeing.” However‚ there is a chance it could be because Boeing's focus is in the wrong place. “Whether it’s the DEI culture‚ I couldn’t honestly say. But there’s certainly a culture that leads you away from‚ you know‚ perfection‚” he adds. Levin unpacks Trump's rally rhetoric twisted by the mainstream media: 'This is totalitarianism'

Former President Donald Trump is no stranger to the media taking him out of context‚ and its reaction to recent remarks he made about the automotive industry is no exception. After a recent speech at a rally‚ multiple outlets ran out-of-context headlines on a prediction the former president made about there being a “bloodbath” in the auto industry job market if Biden wins and can continue his disastrous policies. Trump was simply explaining to his audience that China was building manufacturing plants in Mexico to sell cars in the United States “with no tax at the border.” “Those big‚ monster car-manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now and you think you’re going to get that‚” Trump said‚ addressing China’s president‚ “you’re going to not hire Americans‚ and you’re going to sell the cars to us?” “No. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line‚ and you’re not going be able to sell those cars if I get elected. Now‚ if I don’t get elected‚ it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it‚” he said. “He’s talking about our auto industry because communist China is trying to get around the tariffs he put in place‚” Mark Levin explains‚ adding‚ “Donald Trump says‚ ‘No‚ that’s not going to happen. I’ll put 100% tariff on them‚’ and in that context‚ he talks about a bloodbath.” The media spun his words to sound like he was calling for violence if he loses the 2024 presidential election. “This is totalitarianism‚” Levin says. “This is how you lose countries‚ this is how you lose societies. When the truth is irrelevant‚ when the law is irrelevant. When you can say whatever you want to say and it sticks.” “You see the lies‚ you see the propaganda‚ and it’s one after another after another‚” Levin adds. 'FBI violated American citizens' 4A rights 278‚000 times': Bureau blasted over attempt to put gloss on Section 702

The FBI is attempting to rehabilitate the public image of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act as Congress has until April 19 to reauthorize it. The bureau recently posted a video to X that features FBI Director Christopher Wray attempting to put a gloss on Section 702 as part of this monthslong campaign. The bureau's timely propaganda did not escape the attention of critics on X‚ where the post received a community note that read‚ "The FBI violated American citizens' 4A rights 278‚000 times with illegal‚ unauthorized FISA 702 searches." Among the critics was Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah)‚ who wrote‚ "FBI just got called out in a community note on X. Congress — take note. FISA 702 has been used for warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of times. Yet FBI demands 702 be reauthorized by April 19 WITHOUT a warrant requirement for searches of U.S. citizens." "Many in Congress will want to reauthorize FISA 702 — which is set to expire April 19th — either without modification or (more likely) with fake reforms that fail to impose a warrant requirement for searches directed at Americans‚" added the senator. What is Section 702? Section 702 is a provision of FISA enacted by Congress in 2008 that enables the state to spy on foreign nationals located outside the U.S. with the compelled aid of electronic communication service providers. This was the law exploited by the FBI to spy on members of the Trump campaign in 2016 without probable cause. According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence‚ Congress enacted Section 702 in order to "address a collection gap that resulted from the evolution of technology in the years after FISA was passed in 1978." "Many terrorists and other foreign adversaries were using email accounts serviced by U.S. companies‚" claimed the ODNI. "Because of this change in communications technology‚ the government had to seek individual court orders‚ based on a finding of probable cause‚ to obtain the communications of non-U.S. persons located abroad." Supposedly‚ going through the courts proved too costly "because of the resources required and because the government couldn't always meet the probable cause standard‚ which was designed to protect U.S. persons and persons in the U.S." Warrantless spying on Americans While 702 targets must be foreign nationals believed to be outside the U.S.‚ the FBI readily admits that "such targets may send an email or have a phone call with a U.S. person." As a consequence‚ multitudes of American citizens have been subjected to warrantless surveillance and have had their phone calls‚ text messages‚ emails‚ and other communications tapped and stored. Blaze News previously reported that during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in June 2023‚ the FBI admitted there had been at least 278‚000 "unintentional" back-door search queries of the 702 database for the private communications of Americans between 2020 and 2021 alone. Among those Americans caught up in the warrantless searches were Jan. 6 protesters‚ 19‚000 donors to a congressional campaign‚ and BLM protesters. The Hill reported that long after the FBI ran numerous searches of people suspected of partaking in the Jan. 6 protests‚ the Department of Justice concluded the bureau had not met the standard required for such a search. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) asked FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate at the June 2023 hearing‚ "Your institution is the one that‚ according to the court‚ the FISA court‚ ran 278‚000 unwarranted — probably illegal — queries on Americans‚ right? That was your institution‚ correct?" Abbate responded‚ "With respect to the compliance incident‚ yes." Reauthorization Wray sang praises to Section 702 when testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee in December and did so again before the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on March 11. In his March 11 testimony‚ Wray stated‚ "The FISA Court itself most recently found 98% compliance and commented on the reforms working. The most recent Justice Department report found the reforms working‚ 99% compliance. And so‚ I think legislation that ensures those reforms stay in place but also preserves the agility and the utility of the tools‚ what we need to be able to protect the American people." The FBI's March 25 social post containing an excerpt from Wray's testimony was not well-received. Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) wrote‚ "The FBI was correctly called out in a community note for lying about its unconstitutional‚ warrantless surveillance of Americans. Congress must eliminate FISA abuse and protect the American people's privacy." Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) tweeted‚ "The FBI has been corrected in community notes and rightfully so." FBI whistlelower Steve Friend reiterated that the FBI "violated constitutional rights and abused FISA Section 702 over 278‚000 times in a single year." Sen. Lee emphasized that he and Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin (D) have introduced a bill that would reauthorize 702 but in a fashion that would supposedly safeguard American privacy and liberties. Their so-called Security and Freedom Enhancement Act would require intelligence agencies to obtain a FISA Title I order or a warrant prior to accessing the contents of Americans' communications collected under Section 702. "While only foreigners overseas may be targeted‚ the program sweeps in massive amounts of Americans' communications‚ which may be searched without a warrant. Even after implementing compliance measures‚ the FBI still conducted more than 200‚000 warrantless searches of Americans' communications in just one year — more than 500 warrantless searches per day‚" said Durbin. Durbin figured this legislation would make reauthorizing Section 702 palatable. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
