Brian Wilson The Leader Of The Beach Boys Dies

Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Brian Wilson, the leader of the iconic band the Beach Boys, has passed away. Brian was the last surviving musical brother of the band alive at the time of his death; his brother Carl, who was the lead guitarist, and Dennis, the drummer, passed away years before him. People shared these details regarding Wilson’s death: Brian Wilson, the pop music genius and singer who co-founded the Beach Boys, has died. He was 82. The musician’s family announced his death on Wednesday, June 11 in an Instagram post featuring a recent photo of the star smiling on a bench. “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away,” the statement read. “We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.” Described by PEOPLE in 1975 as the “formative genius of the group,” Wilson served as the rock band’s songwriter and co-lead vocalist and also played bass guitar and keyboard alongside brothers, Dennis and Carl Wilson, cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine, who all were part of the original lineup. AP covered the legacy of Wilson: Wilson himself was celebrated for his gifts and pitied for his demons. He was one of rock’s great Romantics, a tormented man who in his peak years embarked on an ever-steeper path to aural perfection, the one true sound. The Beach Boys rank among the most popular groups of the rock era, with more than 30 singles in the Top 40 and worldwide sales of more than 100 million. The 1966 album “Pet Sounds” was voted No. 2 in a 2003 Rolling Stone list of the best 500 albums, losing out, as Wilson had done before, to the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The Beach Boys, who also featured Wilson cousin Mike Love and childhood friend Al Jardine, were voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Wilson feuded with Love over songwriting credits, but peers otherwise adored him beyond envy, from Elton John and Bruce Springsteen to Katy Perry and Carole King. The Who’s drummer, Keith Moon, fantasized about joining the Beach Boys. Paul McCartney cited “Pet Sounds” as a direct inspiration on the Beatles and the ballad “God Only Knows” as among his favorite songs, often bringing him to tears. Wilson moved and fascinated fans and musicians long after he stopped having hits. In his later years, Wilson and a devoted entourage of younger musicians performed “Pet Sounds” and his restored opus, “Smile,” before worshipful crowds in concert halls. Meanwhile, The Go-Go’s, Lindsey Buckingham, Animal Collective and Janelle Monáe were among a wide range of artists who emulated him, whether as a master of crafting pop music or as a pioneer of pulling it apart. President Trump Reveals Hidden Music Talent And It’s Not What You Expect!

President Trump has revealed his hidden music talent. With the last name Trump, you would think his hidden talent would be the Trumpet, but that’s not it. The guitar or the drums? Nope! If you guessed the flute, you are right! Newsweek had more details to share: President Donald Trump has revealed he was a talented musician as a child and excelled at playing the flute. In a wide-ranging interview for the Pod Force One podcast, Trump said he had a gift for music from an early age that he could have been a flutist. “I had flute lessons! This is the first person who’s ever asked me that question,” he told The New York Post’s Miranda Devine. “Can you believe it, I could’ve been a flutist. I didn’t particularly like it, it wasn’t for me.” He said that when he was aged 11 or 12 his mother and father took him for aptitude tests. “They came up to my father and they said ‘your son is brilliant at music, he’d be an incredible musician’. This is not what my father wanted to hear—this was not the greatest thing, you know! But I do have an ear for music … People like the music I play,” he said. The country singer Lee Greenwood, a friend of Trump’s who is known for “God Bless the U.S.A” and has produced a version of the Bible by the same name with the president, said in March that the president was very musical. “He’s absolutely very creative and very artistic. I do not doubt that he has a great ear for music,” Greenwood said at an event at the Kennedy Center in March. As all of you know, I have always said the flute is the most masculine instrument. Every man should play it. pic.twitter.com/my0ebGoTTb — Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) June 11, 2025 “Trump’s Ear for Music” Who knew that DT was determined to be a “musical genius” at the age of 12?Who knew that he took private flute lessons?! Who else would like to see him play the flute on camera?pic.twitter.com/BtTFVYkTBo — Bjean (@SmilePointe) June 11, 2025 Have you ever wondered what kind of music President Trump likes? The Independent reported on his Spotify playlist: Here’s a rundown of some of the key tracks on Mr Trump’s playlist – some of which may surprise while others will definitely not: Sinead O’Connor – ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ Metallica – ‘Enter Sandman’ R.E.M. – ‘Losing My Religion’ Elton John – ‘Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding’ ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ from Andrew Lloyd Webber ‘Superstar’ from Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Supersta Elvis Presley – ‘Suspicious Minds’ Lionel Ritchie – ‘Hello’ Guns N’ Roses – ‘November Rain’ James Brown and Luciano Pavarotti – ‘It’s a Man’s World – Live’ Frank Sinatra – ‘My Way’ Johnny Cash – ‘Ring of Fire’ The Rolling Stones – ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ There are some undeniable bangers in there and a commendable range of genres, from Metallica to Broadway, although no doubt R.E.M. and the late, lamented Sinead O’Connor would be appalled to find themselves in rotation.

Trump Administration Brings Back Names Of Seven Military Bases Changed By Biden

Among the many widely controversial actions of the Biden administration was the decision to rename a slate of military bases located across the United States. This week, the US Army confirmed that seven such institutions are now officially going to be known by their previous names. While they will all now match their pre-Biden identities, they will not all honor the Confederate military figures they were initially named after. As the Washington Times reported: Fort Pickett in Virginia, renamed Fort Barfoot under Mr. Biden, was originally named for Confederate General George Pickett. It will now honor 1st Lt. Vernon W. Pickett, a World War II soldier who destroyed Nazi positions with grenades in France. He was later captured by the Germans but escaped and made it back to his unit. Lt. Pickett was later killed in combat and awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. Fort Hood, renamed Fort Cavazos under Mr. Biden, is Fort Hood again, but this time in honor of Col. Richard B. Hood, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in World War I. Army officials on Tuesday said then-Capt. Richard Hood directed artillery fire under intense German machine gun attacks. After his gun crew was lost to enemy fire, he reorganized and returned fire within minutes, restoring combat capability. The Army post in Texas had originally been named for Confederate Gen. John Bell Hood. Fort Gordon, Fort Eisenhower under Mr. Biden, is back, this time in honor of Master Sgt. Gary Gordon, who received a posthumous Medal of Honor for valor during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, better known as “Black Hawk Down.” News of the restored names quickly began to spread via social media: #BREAKING: President Trump just announced he is RESTORING the names of military bases which received woke name changes Fort PickettFort HoodFort GordonFort PolkFort A.P. Hill, and Fort Robert E. Lee.” The crowd erupted in cheers and Trump continued: “We won a lot of battles out of those forts. It’s no time to change. And I’m superstitious. You know, I like to keep it going, right? I’m very superstitious. We want to keep it going.” The seven bases were renamed in 2023 under a Pentagon directive carried out by the Biden administration, following a 2021 law passed by Congress. In response to Trump’s announcement, the U.S. Army released a statement defending the original decision. “The Army will take all necessary actions to change the names of seven Army installations in honor of heroic Soldiers who served in conflicts ranging from the Civil War to the Battle of Mogadishu,” the statement said. “Five of them received the Medal of Honor, three received the Distinguished Service Cross and one received the Silver Star.” Here’s a full clip of Trump’s remarks at Fort Bragg:

WATCH: Jon Voight Puts Newsom In His Place With Scathing New X Video

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has received massive backlash in recent days for his response, or lack thereof, to the riots and social unrest that has plagued Los Angeles. As wave after wave of violence and destruction hit the city’s streets amid opposition to the Trump administration’s deportation of dangerous criminal aliens, a number of high-profile critics have shared their dismal assessment of the governor’s actions. One such detractor knows a thing or two about the Hollywood area. Actor Jon Voight posted a social media video in which he lambasted the Democratic governor, as the Washington Examiner reported: “You’re a fool blaming Trump,” Voight said. “What are you doing for this destruction of these animals destroying Los Angeles? Are you out there talking calmly with them? You fool. They would burn you down like they’re burning the cars and the American flag with no regard for humanity.” Voight’s video came hours after Newsom addressed the nation and said democracy was under attack by Trump after the president deployed the National Guard against Newsom’s wishes. “When Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard, he made that order apply to every state in this nation,” Newsom said after days of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protests in Los Angeles. “California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next.” Voight called Newsom a “lying dog,” saying that Newsom’s actions and rhetoric against Trump are calculated and guided by an effort to set himself up for a presidential run. His critique was echoed by other X users in a string of replies to the video: God bless you Jon Voight! May these colors forever stand proudly in the face of adversity with a true leader like president Donald J. Trump as our president. — FLAHUSTLA (@FLAHUSTLA) June 11, 2025 What Jon said. — AwakenedOutlaw (@AwakenedOutlaw) June 11, 2025 So well said by Jon Voight. He’s 86 BTW. I hope to be that sharp at that age. Voight is an inspiration. — Paul A. Szypula (@Bubblebathgirl) June 11, 2025 Sky News also reported on the “Deliverance” star’s rant: He went on to frame the unrest as a battle of “good vs evil,” praising Trump as the “greatest president since Lincoln”. “God is my witness, truth will prevail because of your faults and incompetence for California’s failures,” he said. “We the People stand with Donald Trump to save America.” Voight, who has long spoken out in support of Trump and conservative values in general, was one of a few entertainment industry icons selected to serve as special ambassadors to Hollywood:
