Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended 269 Chinese nationals attempting to enter the U.S. illegally on Monday‚ raising the number of Chinese illegal immigrants encountered by Border Patrol agents to over 20‚000 in the past five months alone. A CBP source told Fox News’ Bill Melugin that the Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector detained 269 illegal immigrants from China in a single day after CBP reported that agents from the same border sector apprehended over 8‚500 illegal immigrants from 73 different countries in one week at the beginning of February. In fiscal year 2024 alone‚ which began in October 2023‚ more than 20‚000 Chinese nationals have been encountered at the border — that’s compared to 450 who crossed in all of fiscal year 2021‚ Melugin reported. Chinese nationals looking to enter the U.S. illegally now make up the fastest-growing group of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border‚ CBS News reported. Chinese migrants reportedly find step-by-step instructions for hiring smugglers on the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok. Many Chinese migrants fly from China to Ecuador‚ which doesn’t require a visa for Chinese nationals‚ before they fly to Tijuana‚ Mexico‚ where they meet and pay smugglers willing to take them to the U.S. southern border. Earlier this month‚ former President Donald Trump told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo that he believes the Chinese Communist Party is directing the flow of Chinese nationals coming to the U.S. Asked about the possibility of the CCP pushing Chinese nationals to the U.S.‚ which Bartiromo noted has increased of late‚ Trump responded‚ “I believe so. The surge in Chinese citizens entering the U.S. illegally coincides with the ongoing fight between Republicans and the Biden administration on border security and immigration reform. Since Biden took office in January 2021‚ at least eight million illegal immigrants have been encountered at the border‚ not including gotaways‚ according to CBP data. Harvard University students chanted “Palestine is Arab” on Monday during an “emergency die-in” protest this week on the Widener Library steps‚ the latest radical anti-Israel protest at the Ivy League institution. A student organizer taught students a chant in Arabic which translates to “from water to water‚ Palestine is Arab‚” according to video obtained by The Daily Wire of the protest. It is a more extreme variation of the “from the river to the sea‚ Palestine shall be free” chant often used by pro-Palestinian radicals in cities across the United States‚ and is likewise seen as a call for ethnic cleansing of the Jewish and other non-Arab populations that live in Israel. What do you get when you cross a stingray with a shark? An aquarium in Hendersonville‚ North Carolina may just give us the answer in the coming days! The reason why is fascinating to say the least. It all started in September when the female stingray at the Aquarium &; Shark Lab by Team ECCO began to swell. Since the aquarium doesn’t have a male stingray‚ they didn’t consider they might have a pregnant stingray on their hands. Instead‚ they suspected the stingray‚ whose name is Charlotte‚ had cancer. But when tests proved she was cancer-free‚ the truth became clear: Charlotte was set to give birth to four little ones! But the question still remained… who is the dad? According to Team ECCO‚ there are two possibilities. The first is called parthenogenesis. This is when female eggs develop on their own without fertilization. This would be the stingray cloning herself. Although not impossible‚ it’s much more common in sharks. “It’s a once in a bluest of blue moons experience‚” Brenda Ramer‚ founder and executive director of Team ECCO shares. The other possibility is somehow even more extraordinary — the father is a shark. There are a few reasons why this may be the case. ABC13 News First of all‚ two of Charlotte’s tank-mates were sharks named Larry and Moe. These white spot bamboo sharks were 1 years old when they first joined Charlotte. That’s why Brenda says “we did not think there would be an issue.” North Carolina Aquarium Discovers Shark May be the Father of a Pregnant Stingray “We started to notice bite marks on Charlotte‚ but saw other fish nipping at her‚ so we moved fish‚ but the biting continued‚” Brenda explains. Turns out‚ though‚ that bite marks are an indicator of mating in sharks. All of these things added together make Larry or Moe the potential father. But we won’t find out for sure until the little ones are born and a DNA test is done.
