Click to Skip Ahead About KatKin What’s In The Box? Overview KatKin Food Reviewed What’s The Catch? Our Experience  Our Final Verdict We give KatKin an overall rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Quality: 5/5 Variety: 5/5 Ingredients: 5/5 Value: 4.5/5 Check Price on KatKin Gone are the days of cracking open a tin of budget-brand cat food and hoping for the best. In these modern times where we can be overwhelmed with choices‚ it gets harder and harder to make the best choices when it comes to feeding our families‚ let alone our beloved pets. Over the past few years‚ there has been a major shift away from the well-recognized ‘premium’ pet food brands‚ with cat owners looking for a food that not only meets their feline’s nutritional needs‚ but one that is also fresh and tasty. Raw feeding and home-prepared foods have increased in popularity‚ and each have their place‚ but both have some significant drawbacks. Getting the right ingredients to ensure your cat is getting everything they need in a homemade food can be a tedious process‚ costing you a lot of time and more money than you might expect to pay. Even when done carefully‚ raw food still poses a risk of bringing foodborne pathogens into your home‚ which may affect your family‚ as well as your cat. This is where KatKin comes in. Much like the pre-prepared meals that are cooked to perfection and delivered frozen to your door‚ KatKin is made from 100% human-grade fresh meat‚ including muscle‚ organ‚ and connective tissue to ensure a balanced mix of nutrients. The meat is gently cooked then frozen to stay fresh‚ and delivered to your home. “The nutritious power of raw‚ minus the risks.”  About KatKin Unlike many of the most popular cat foods on the market‚ KatKin is an independent brand that boasts: Fresh meat fit for human consumption Gently cooked then frozen to stay fresh Free from grains‚ fillers‚ and preservatives Personalized daily portions Delivery to your door Who Makes KatKin and Where is it Produced? KatKin is the brainchild of brother-sister team Nikki and Brett O’Farrell‚ who wanted to create a food for cats that removed the preservatives and additives found in most commercial cat foods and provide pet owners with an alternative to raw feeding. Founded in Clerkenwell‚ England in 2019‚ KatKin is the first producer of fresh-cooked cat food in Europe and the UK. The KatKin recipes are created by veterinary professionals‚ with each box filled with fresh-frozen meals customized to the individual cat’s needs. They use only human-grade meat ingredients‚ which are steam-cooked and frozen fresh‚ before being delivered to your door. At this stage‚ KatKin is only available as a subscription service to UK customers. Which Types of Pets Is KatKin Best Suited For? KatKin is suitable for all cats over the age of weaning (approximately 8 weeks). The nutrient profile of the KatKin foods is appropriate for all feline life stages‚ and the absence of carbohydrates means that they would even be suitable for diabetic patients. As most of the foods in the KatKin range are based on a single protein source‚ they may be a perfect option for cats with food allergies or inflammatory bowel disease. At this stage‚ KatKin does not have a food that is deemed suitable for cats with liver disease‚ kidney disease‚ or urinary issues‚ and veterinary advice is recommended for any cats with underlying health issues before starting them on any new foods. What’s In The Box? Check Price on KatKin Just like many human-prepared meal providers‚ you can pick and choose which flavors go into your shipment from 7 options‚ which is perfect for cats with food allergies or intolerances.* Cluck: 100% gently-cooked chicken thigh‚ liver‚ heart‚ and traces of whitefish – plus the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Moo: 100% gently-cooked beef trim‚ heart and liver – plus sunflower oil‚ fish oil and the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Baaa: 100% gently-cooked lamb heart‚ trim‚ liver‚ and traces of beef – plus fish oil and the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Oink: 100% gently-cooked pork shoulder‚ trim and liver – plus fish oil and the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Gobble: 100% gently-cooked turkey thigh‚ liver‚ gizzards‚ and traces of whitefish – plus the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Splash: 100% gently-cooked whitefish‚ salmon and turkey liver‚ plus sunflower oil and the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Quack: 100% gently-cooked duck meat‚ gizzards and liver‚ and chicken heart and thigh‚ and traces of whitefish – plus fish oil and the KatKin Nutrient Mix. Daily servings are divided into a morning and an evening meal‚ which need to be thawed in the refrigerator before serving. Sealed portions are safe to be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days‚ and opened packages should be discarded after 2 days if not eaten (which would be unlikely!). KatKin can be safely stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. Optional extras include freeze-dried chicken or salmon nibbles‚ and a tiny jar of freeze-dried chicken sprinkles‚ designed to tempt any suspicious or discerning felines. *Some of the flavors do contain trace amounts of other protein ingredients‚ so be sure to check the label if your cat has a severe food allergy. In Summary Pros High-quality food Good for food allergy/sensitivity Portioned – no risk of overfeeding Benefits of raw feeding without the pathogen risks Automatic delivery‚ no risk of running out Cons Website is a bit difficult to navigate Price Only available online in the UK Overview Check Price on KatKin The concept of feeding cats a diet of 100% fresh meat is not a new one‚ but it has largely been limited to raw food diets. Whilst raw feeding can offer many benefits‚ the risk of transmitting harmful pathogens such as Salmonella‚ E. coli‚ Campylobacter‚ and even Botulism to our pets is one that continues to keep vets on the fence about its safety. What KatKin is doing differently is taking that concept‚ adding the added step of cooking their pure meat recipes‚ and then delivering the individual portions straight to your door. How is this different from “regular” cat food? Most commercial cat food (apart from raw) is ultra-heat or pressure-treated to eliminate harmful pathogens and prolong shelf life. The quality and benefits of commercial foods still come down to the quality of the ingredients used‚ with more expensive brands using a greater proportion of higher quality meat ingredients‚ and the more budget-friendly options relying on meat meal‚ carbohydrates‚ and other “filler” items to fill their bags or tins. Even high-quality‚ veterinary-formulated foods can contain as little as 40% meat. KatKin has come up with a way to safely provide fresh cat food that is 100% meat and meets feline nutritional requirements‚ in a wide variety of flavors. With the exception of a handful of health conditions‚ KatKin is a high-quality‚ fresh frozen cat food that will suit cats of any life stage‚ from weaning to geriatric. It is a good option for cats with food allergies or intolerances‚ and may even be suitable for diabetics.* The daily portions ensure that your cat is getting the right amount each day‚ reducing the risk of overfeeding‚ obesity‚ and its associated health risks. The 100% meat formula mimics the natural feline diet without compromising on nutrient balance. Plus‚ the scheduled deliveries mean that you can avoid the late-night dash to 7/11! *Always talk to your vet before starting your cat on a new diet if they have any known or suspected health conditions. KatKin Food Reviewed 1. The Fresh Food Pros Good range of flavors‚ likely to find at least one your cat enjoys Most are single protein‚ ideal for food allergies or intolerances Suitable for all life stages Not smelly Cons None 2. Freeze Dried Chicken Nibbles Pros Low fat No additives Cons Only available in chicken and salmon flavors A bit messy/dusty Some cats are suspicious/uncertain of the texture 3. Freeze Dried Chicken Sprinkles Pros Helps overcome any ‘new-flavor suspicion’ Great for encouraging fussy eaters You only need a tiny amount Cons Only available in chicken – not ideal for cats with chicken allergy/intolerance Tiny jar (but you only need a pinch or two) What’s The Catch? Isn’t that what we always want to know? Well‚ you’ll be pleased to know that‚ apart from a few minor pragmatic concerns‚ we don’t think there is a catch! KatKin is a great idea and a great food‚ and the only negatives we found pertain to logistics and pricing. Whilst the automatic delivery is a huge advantage for busy lives and can be paused‚ altered‚ and canceled at any time‚ there is always the risk of delivery disruptions due to unforeseen circumstances. The food is delivered in insulated boxes with freezer packs‚ but if left in the wrong place on a hot day‚ could result in disaster. However‚ these are both issues that could readily be anticipated and avoided. If you have multiple cats and are used to feeding your moggies by pouring from a bag or spooning from a communal tin‚ you might find the individual serving packs a bit fiddly and time-consuming‚ but we think that it’s a small price to pay‚ considering what’s inside. The KatKin website contains a lot of information‚ but it can be a bit tricky to find what you’re after. Like many subscription-type providers‚ you do need to go through the process of starting a pet profile and filling in your details before you can get to the pricing details‚ which can be a bit annoying. Of course‚ this sort of quality product is going to come at a more premium price. Based on a standard delivery schedule‚ KatKin estimates that their food will set you back around £1.90 ($2.40 US) per day‚ and there are discounts for multiple cats. That’s £53.20 ($67.80) for 4 weeks of 100% human-grade meat. It’s not cheap‚ but one could argue that what you spend on high-quality cat food‚ you may save on vet bills. Our Experience With KatKin As a vet and guardian of five indoor cats‚ I know the importance of choosing the right food. After all‚ what goes in‚ must come out‚ and when your cats eat good quality‚ highly digestible food‚ the results are there in the litter box‚ in the form of small‚ well-formed feces with a minimally offensive stench. My cats have predominantly been fed a premium brand of dry food their entire lives‚ but I have been wanting to explore some fresher alternatives. My main worry in this venture was the fact that my office is where the litter boxes are located‚ which is why odor is my second highest priority after health. Of course‚ healthy food leads to a happy litter box‚ so I was hopeful about giving KatKin a go. My two-week trial was handed directly to me in a sturdy cardboard box lined with recyclable wool insulation‚ and a suitably large freezer brick‚ ensuring that the contents remained frozen. On top was the freeze-dried chicken sprinkles and nibbles which I was sure my cats would be more than happy to try‚ although I didn’t think that they would need the sprinkles to get them interested in the food. I was pleased that the food could be kept in the fridge for 5 days once thawed‚ because it meant that I could thaw out a few days at a time‚ saving me from having to remember to do this daily. The brightly colored packages don’t take up much space in the fridge or freezer‚ thanks to a lack of unnecessary outer packaging. Going In – The Initial Testing Phase Cyril had valiantly volunteered to be my primary KatKin taste tester‚ though there would undoubtedly be some interest from the others. What I liked right away was that the food wasn’t stinky (with the exception of the salmon!)‚ and despite being wet food‚ it had a nice flakey‚ crumbly consistency‚ suggesting that the volume hadn’t been made up with excess moisture. Indeed‚ most wet cat foods typically contain around 85% moisture‚ whereas KatKin contains about 70-74% moisture‚ depending on the flavor‚ which is quite impressive. Unsurprisingly‚ Cyril was more than happy to dig into the first offering of the week – Cluck (chicken). He was slightly hesitant about Gobble (turkey) but went absolutely mad for Baaa (lamb). Pork was a fairly unfamiliar flavor for him‚ and at first‚ it looked like he wasn’t going to give it a try. However‚ I reached for the chicken sprinkles‚ and with only a very light dusting‚ his hesitation was over and it wasn’t long before the bowl was empty. Coming Out – The Exit Poll Compared with the output on the dry food‚ I will admit that there was a slight increase in the fecal aroma whilst Cyril was on the KatKin‚ but this actually reduced after the first few days. In terms of appearance and frequency‚ his poops continued to be small‚ well-formed‚ and just once a day. The Verdict As a long-time subscriber to high-quality dry cat foods‚ I have been hesitant about exploring the world of raw feeding‚ despite the many potential health benefits it may have; the risks are just too high. KatKin has very cleverly filled this gap in the market with a product that provides the benefits of a raw meat diet without compromising on safety. As a vet and pet owner‚ KatKin ticks a lot of my boxes‚ including the litter boxes! If I can work it into the budget‚ I will happily keep my cats on this food. Check Price on KatKin Conclusion Cat food has come a long way over the years‚ from a tin of sardines to highly processed pellets that no longer look like food at all! Although science tells us that these foods are able to keep our felines fit and healthy‚ we are becoming increasingly suspicious of how far removed this kibble is from the diet of their wild counterparts. Raw feeding has experienced a surge in popularity‚ but vets are on the fence about whether the potential benefits justify the inherent risks. KatKin is a refreshing departure from the ultra heat and pressure treatment of most commercial cat foods‚ providing a safer option for those wanting to offer their cats more meat and less filler. You can expect to pay a premium‚ but if you think of it as an investment in your feline family member’s health‚ you might find you’ll be able to make room in your monthly budget. David Dastmalchian Unleashes Evil‚ 1970s Style‚ in Late Night With the Devil Trailer

News Late Night With the Devil David Dastmalchian Unleashes Evil‚ 1970s Style‚ in Late Night With the Devil Trailer The only thing more frightening than the fashions is THE DEVIL By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on February 8‚ 2024 icon-comment 0 Share New Share Twitter Facebook Pinterest RSS Feed 1970s late night television has a certain eeriness to it‚ especially when you have a late show host played by David Dastmalchian (Suicide Squad‚ The Last Voyage of the Demeter) who potentially summons a demon on air. That’s the premise of Late Night With the Devil‚ a movie from IFC Films coming out in theaters next month. IFC just released a teaser trailer for it‚ which captures that 1970s television feel with a very healthy dose of terror. Here’s the movie’s official synopsis: October 31‚ 1977. Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy (Dastmalchian) hosts a syndicated late night talk show Night Owls that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country. A year after the tragic death of Jack’s wife‚ ratings have plummeted. Desperate to turn his fortunes around‚ Jack plans a Halloween special like no other‚ unaware that he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America.  Late Night With the Devil is directed by Colin and Cameron Cairnes‚ Australian filmmakers and brothers who were inspired by their own childhood TV watching habits. “The seed of what would become Late Night With the Devil was sown in the ‘80s when‚ as children‚ we would stay up late to watch The Don Lane Show‚ Australia’s answer to The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson‚” the two said in a statement. “Don was a curious figure‚ and nor was he Australian—he was‚ in fact‚ a 6’3” nightclub performer from the Bronx‚ who‚ through persistence and a little good luck‚ found himself hosting Australia’s most successful talk show. Local audiences were seduced as much by the accent as the genial schtick.” In addition to Dastmalchian‚ the movie stars Laura Gordon‚ Ian Bliss‚ Ingrid Torelli‚ Fayssal Bazzi‚ and Rhys Auteri. Check out the teaser trailer below: Late Night With the Devil premieres in theaters on March 22‚ 2024 and will stream on Shudder on April 19‚ 2024. Curious Facts About Benjamin Franklin That Are Left Out Of History Books

Benjamin Franklin is one of the most prominent figures of American history. There was little that Franklin couldn’t do. The polymath was born into a modest family in 1706 and despite only two years of formal education‚ he would later gain acclaim as an author‚ printer‚ politician‚ scientist‚ inventor‚ statesman‚ and freemason‚ among other things. Denial of Lia Thomas’ Biological Advantages Doesn’t Make Them Any Less Real

Susan Shaw‚ a women’s and gender studies professor at Oregon State‚ penned a recent op-ed in Forbes titled “Transgender Swimmer Lia Thomas’ Body is Not the Problem.” But that headline relies on a fallacy increasingly recognized by the public as such: Lia Thomas’ body is exactly the problem. Not satisfied with stealing the NCAA Division I‚ 500-meter freestyle championship from a woman in 2022‚ Thomas is now suing World Aquatics in the international Court of Arbitration for Sport for its refusal to let Thomas‚ who was born male but “identifies” as transgender‚ compete in the women’s category in elite swimming events‚ such as the USA Olympic team swimming trials. Their onerous regulation? World Aquatics permits transgender women to compete in women’s events only if they transitioned before age 12 or before one of the early stages of puberty. Shaw believes that the deep divisions over transgender athletic participation are based not on research evidence on trans athletic advantages‚ but rather on “our deeply-held and rather largely unexamined assumptions about biology and gender.” But those purported assumptions are backed by hard scientific research referenced in the joint statement of the International Federation of Sports Medicine and the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations‚ which indicated that the International Olympic Committee—with its trans-inclusive sport regulations—had failed to take proper account of “scientific‚ biological or medical aspects.” In particular‚ it ignored that “high testosterone concentrations‚ either endogenous or exogenous‚ confer a baseline advantage for athletes in certain sports … and must be mitigated.” World Aquatics later convened its own group of scientists with the aim of developing sport-specific transgender athletic regulations. In findings to file under “told you so‚” the scientists reported that “biological sex is a key determinant of athletic performance‚” with males outperforming females in sports (including aquatic sports) that are primarily determined by neuromuscular‚ cardiovascular and respiratory function‚ and anthropometrics including body and limb size. The Independent Women’s Forum compiled some of the more compelling research on physiological distinctions between men and women in its report “Competition‚” available at the group’s website. So‚ yes‚ Lia Thomas—at 6-foot-1‚ with broader shoulders‚ higher muscle mass‚ greater bone density and longer legs—has a distinct athletic benefit over even the most highly trained female aquatic competitors in the world. Like other feminists‚ Ms. Shaw stresses the “illusion of difference” between the sexes‚ claiming that if “women cut their hair the same way as men‚ wore ‘men’s’ clothes‚ and didn’t shave their legs and underarms‚ wear makeup‚ or pluck their eyebrows‚ they wouldn’t look nearly as different from men as they do.” But there is a yawning chasm of difference between looking the same and being the same. And for decades‚ feminists fought the tired trope that women are to be distinguished (from men and each other) primarily by how they look. This a strangely reductionist argument for a purported feminist to rely so much on superficial expressions of womanhood. Womanhood is not makeup‚ hairstyles‚ dresses or high heels. And even critically thinking gender zealots ought to know better. A favorite tactic of the anti-biology crowd is to force a convolution of the sexes and paint immutable differences as artificial‚ ensuring that women’s equality can be decimated sport by sport‚ bathroom by bathroom‚ program by program. Shaw strains to argue that we “can’t even define biological sex all that well.” Of course we can. Sex is defined by sexual reproduction and sex cells called gametes. Biologists recognize it. Other professors recognize it. Teenagers recognize it. Federal judges recognize it (though perhaps not all Supreme Court justices do). Even young children‚ observant as they are‚ recognize that boys and girls are different. Why else would there be a need to proselytize these same children into a world where gender unicorns‚ drag queens and subjective self-identification take the place of what their eyes know to be true? The motivating force behind significant civil rights gains for women was the understanding that while men and women are different‚ opportunities for each must be equal. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote as much in 1996 in her majority opinion in U.S. v. Virginia: “Physical differences between men and women‚ however‚ are enduring: ‘[T]he two sexes are not fungible; a community made up exclusively of one [sex] is different from a community composed of both.’” In the battle for women’s athletic equality‚ male bodies will always be the problem. EU Lawmakers Warn Sanctions Could Be Imposed on Tucker Carlson for Putin Interview

Daily Caller News Foundation co-founder Tucker Carlson could be threatened with sanctions by the European Union over his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin‚ according to current and former members of the European Parliament. Carlson traveled to Moscow and met with Putin for a yet-to-be-released interview about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and its global perception. Carlson could face sanctions or a travel ban to Europe from the EU governing bodies over his interview with Putin‚ former and current parliamentary members told Newsweek. “As Putin is a war criminal and the EU sanctions all who assist him in that effort‚ it seems logical that the External Action Service examines [Carlson’s] case as well‚” Guy Verhofstadt‚ former Belgian prime minister and current EU Parliament member who has called for a travel ban to be imposed on Carlson‚ told Newsweek. “Carlson is not being a real journalist since he has clearly expressed his sympathy for the Russian regime and Putin and has constantly disparaged Ukraine‚ the victim of Russian aggression‚” Urmas Paet‚ former Estonia foreign minister and current Parliament member‚ told Newsweek. “So‚ for such propaganda for a criminal regime‚ you can end up on the list of sanctions. This concerns primarily travel ban to EU countries.” In order to impose sanctions on Carlson‚ the EU External Action Service must consider the available evidence and then turn the case over to the European Council‚ made up of the bloc’s leaders‚ for a final decision‚ according to Newsweek; Members of Parliament cannot impose sanctions on an individual at their sole discretion. One EU official told Newsweek that it would be necessary to implicate Carlson for his ties to Russia’s war effort‚ which would be “difficult and hard to prove.” Still‚ other former and current EU Parliament members insist Carlson is aiding in Russia’s hostilities and needs to face consequences for it. “He is no longer a newsman‚ but a propagandist for the most heinous regime on European soil and the one which is most dangerous to our peace and security‚” Luis Garicano‚ a former Parliament member‚ told Newsweek. Carlson said on Wednesday he did not interview Putin out of support for the dictator but rather because he felt the need to show the U.S. and the West aspects of the war. Carlson feels that Western media has left important aspects of the war out of their coverage and said most people are either misinformed or not informed at all about the issue. Carlson also warned that the war in Ukraine has “reshaped the global military and trade alliances” that have “upended the world economy.” He criticized Western media for positively portraying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “demand that the U.S. enter more deeply into a war in Eastern Europe and pay for it.” The EU External Action Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Transgender ‘Girl’ Sues Ex For Throwing Away His Preserved Testicles

I’ll take ‘Things I never thought I’d hear for $1000.' A transgender identifying female (so...a male) sued his ex-boyfriend after the boyfriend threw out the tranny's “preserved testicles.” Reduxx Magazine posted video testimony from Brianna Kingsley‚ who sought the return of the testicles and $6‚500 for damages over the loss of “deez nuts.” What the heck has our society come to!? Kingsley‚ a biological man‚ identifies as a Muslim woman and lives in the Detroit‚ Michigan area. Apparently Kinglsey had his testicles removed as part of his gender-affirming “care”‚ and now wants them back.  Though the story broke back in August‚ Reduxx’s post of the court hearing has re-upped concern - and mockery - over how delusional our society has gotten. “She had had her testicles removed‚” William Wojciechowsk‚ the ex‚ said in the hearing. “I believe if I recalled correctly‚ it was March 23 and they were left in the fridge. I wanted nothing to do with it. I thought it was odd but I try not to judge because everybody’s a little different.” Yeah‚ no kidding. It’s weird enough that Kingsley wanted to get his testicles removed to further convince himself that he’s a girl - but to keep them in the fridge? “Odd” is putting it nicely. “They were there from April of 2022 until July of 2023‚ when I disposed of them‚” Wojciechowsk told the judge.  The video cut to Kingsley talking again. He stood there in a turban‚ holding a fluffy dog and said‚ “that physical anomaly [the balls] has been a point of stress in my life since I can remember and my middle name that I chose is Dee because my whole life I’ve been called Big D. I’m Dee from the D and I thank God that these ‘deez nuts’ were extracted and they were put into a biohazard bag.”  “For s**ts and giggles‚ I put them in a mason jar and I put them in the fridge next to the eggs‚” Kingsley confessed. A trans-identified male in Michigan is suing his ex-partner for the return of his preserved testicles‚ which he had kept in their shared fridge following his genital surgery. Brianna Kingsley‚ who identifies as a Muslim woman‚ is demanding $6‚500 for the loss of "deez nuts." pic.twitter.com/0JRVQiqRb4 — REDUXX (@ReduxxMag) February 8‚ 2024 Firstly‚ it always baffles me when transgender people‚ who clearly don’t listen to anything the Bible or God says‚ thank God for His assistance in their transgender “care.” Secondly‚ imagine opening up the fridge to make an omelet. You reach to grab a carton of eggs and your hand grazes a jar with year-old surgically extracted human testicles inside. Related: ‘Dragging’ Kids Away from Normalcy: Groomers on the Go That takes cringe‚ and honestly the idea of a gag reflex‚ to a whole new level. But still‚ Kingsley's suing over the supposed loss. “The amount that I’m claiming is for the damages of not having these nuts with me‚” Kingsley added confidently.  What‚ was he going to snuggle them when going to sleep or something?  In response to the video posted by Reduxx‚ many individuals were in disbelief. “HOW IS THIS REAL‚” one commentedwhile another asked‚ “Is this satire?”  Others said things like‚ “Gender Ideology exacerbates existing mental disorders  and creates them where they didn't exist before‚” while another said‚ “What a time to be alive!” It really is unfortunate that this story isn’t satire. I hope Mr. Brianna gets his nuts back safe and sound and then checks himself into the psych ward.
