How The Faces Of 3 Medieval Scots From The “Cradle Of Christianity” Were Revealed

In recent years‚ facial reconstruction technology has allowed us to come face-to-face with our ancient ancestors in a way that had never been possible before. From a 50‚000-year-old geriatric Neanderthal‚ to a medieval man with achondroplastic dwarfism‚ and the ever-enigmatic “hobbit” hominid Homo floresiensis‚ our forebears faces can now be revealed in stark relief. In 2022‚ archaeologists at the University of Bradford were loaned a set of three medieval skills by National Museums Scotland and the Dumfries and Galloway Council museums service. The skulls had been unearthed as part of an extensive project to investigate the history of Whithorn.Known as the “cradle of Scottish Christianity”‚ the priory at Whithorn was an important place of worship for more than 1‚000 years. Archaeological excavations at the site have revealed a veritable treasure trove of artifacts‚ including a carved stone dating back to the fifth century CE that is the oldest evidence of Christianity in the country. As well as objects of religious significance‚ there are a number of human burials at the site. As part of the Cold Case Whithorn project‚ in collaboration with the Whithorn Trust‚ archaeologists and forensic scientists set out to reconstruct the histories of some of the area’s former residents‚ including the three individuals to whom the skulls belonged.Once the skulls had been scanned‚ forensic artist Dr Christopher Rynn applied his considerable expertise to the task of bringing their faces to life.“This entails the use of facial soft tissue depths‚ musculature sculpted individually to fit each skull‚ and scientific methods of the estimation of each facial feature‚ such as eyes‚ nose‚ mouth and ears‚ from skull morphology‚” Dr Rynn said in a statement. One of the skulls was that of a woman‚ estimated to have been in her 20s at the time of her death. In an Instagram post‚ Dr Rynn explained that she was likely a high-status individual since she was buried alongside a bishop‚ but beyond that little is known about her life.    IFLScience is not responsible for content shared from external sites. With her was the skull of a man who had a cleft lip and palate‚ a split in the lip and the roof of the mouth that can occur when the tissues do not fuse properly during development in the womb. Nowadays‚ this can repaired through surgery‚ although many children will require some ongoing treatment. Reconstructed face of a cleric with a cleft lip and palate.Credit: Dr Chris RynnRounding off our trio is Bishop Walter of Whithorn‚ who died in 1235. Dr Shirley Curtis-Summers‚ a bioarchaeologist at the University of Bradford‚ was able to perform stable isotope analysis on some of the burials‚ which revealed some more clues about Bishop Walter’s life.“My role as a bioarchaeologist is to examine archaeological skeletons to identify indicators of disease and trauma. I also analysis human bones and teeth for stable isotope analysis‚ which can inform us about the types of foods people in the past were consuming‚ and whether they were local to their place of burial‚” Dr Curtis-Summers said.In the bishop’s case‚ we know that he had a penchant for fish‚ and that such a diet is indicative of his wealth and status. The same can be said for his elaborate burial – he was interred in a stone coffin lined with wood‚ complete with full clothing‚ his wooden crozier‚ and a ruby- and emerald-set gold ring. The facial reconstructions were unveiled as part of the 2022 Wigtown Book Festival and went on to be displayed at the Whithorn Visitor Centre. These types of reconstructions are adding a whole new layer to the already impressive amount of information that can be gleaned from archaeological finds‚ giving us a tantalizing glimpse into our history. After all‚ modern technology has made it possible to recreate our ancestors’ favorite tipples‚ learn about what kind of cheese they preferred‚ and even get an insight into the parasites that plagued them.As Dr Curtis-Summers put it‚ “This project is of huge significance‚ because while we can never tell the full story of the lives of these medieval people‚ being able to reconstruct their diet‚ mobility‚ and now their faces‚ allows us to delve into their past and come face to face with them.”

Azealia Banks Says Biden Running in 2024 Is 'Elder Abuse'

I usually can’t stand when celebrities get involved in politics. But you gotta admit‚ sometimes‚ it's kinda funny. Rapper Azealia Banks expressed support for Donald Trump's humor and 2024 presidential run‚ while other celebrities like Barbra Streisand and Cher are threatening to leave the U.S. if he wins again. Twitter reactions show that many find these celebrity political statements exaggerated and entertaining‚ with a vast majority indicating they don't care about celebrity opinions on politics. At times‚ it’s best to just sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch the show.  In an interview with Britain's “The Standard‚” Banks admitted that “nothing can take [Trump] down.” Later she added‚ “He’s just f**king funny. He’s been through how many bankruptcies? How many wives? How many television shows? Seriously‚ nothing can take him down.” Banks also said that keeping Biden in office is “elder abuse” and that “she feels ‘way safer’ in her new home state of Florida where ‘everyone carries a gun‚’” Breitbart reported.  At the same time‚ with the 2024 election less than a year away‚ celebrities are pissed that Trump's in the running - again.  During a November 14 segment of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‚ singer Barbra Streisand insisted‚ “I will move. I can’t live in this country if [Trump] becomes president.” On Biden‚ she claimed‚ “ I think he’s done a good job. He’s compassionate. He’s smart. He supports the right things.” Related: Singer Pink Plans to Pass Out Banned Books at Florida Concerts Streisand is not alone. Singer Cher told the UK's “The Guardian” that she “almost got an ulcer the last time” Trump won‚ adding‚ “This time I will leave [the country]” if he wins again.  Other celebrities will likely follow suit. In 2016‚ before Trump was elected‚ a long list of celebrities vowed to leave the country if he won. (Spoiler alert: they never left.) It's really funny when celebrities get their panties in a wad over political issues. Twitter users shared that sentiment and thought the celebrity complaints were exaggerations.  “I’ve noticed [in] the past week or so the reoccurrence of posts of mainly celebrities saying they are going to leave the country if Trump wins. It’s a ruse folks. They know we live in the greatest country on earth. They aren’t going anywhere‚” one user wrote. Another added‚ “Think about the arrogance that requires‚ are we supposed to change our vote to keep them? Why should I care if they leave.” Another user added a Twitter poll asking users if they cared about the opinions of celebrities. More than 85 percent of voters said "No" as of Friday afternoon.  Ultimately‚ while it is annoying as hell when celebrities get involved or try to get involved in politics‚ at times it is a little entertaining.  Follow us on Twitter/X: Pro-Palestine Activists Riot Outside DNC Headquarters pic.twitter.com/KfWz9CqAtx — MRCTV (@mrctv) November 16‚ 2023

VIDEO: Media HATE the Idea of Texas Enforcing Federal Immigration Law

On Tuesday‚ Texas lawmakers passed a bill which‚ if enacted‚ would permit state officials to arrest and deport illegal aliens. The media‚ aghast at the idea of anyone being deported ever for any reason‚ swiftly condemned the bill for “causing a lot of fear in the migrant community.” To bolster their case that this would be a Very Bad law‚ journalists brandished statements from radical pro-open borders entities like the ACLU‚ who smeared it as “one of the country’s most radical anti-immigrant laws — EVER.” Reporters applied no ideological labels to these organizations‚ instead describing them only as “civil rights groups” or “advocacy groups.”     On Wednesday‚ ABC’s Mireya Villarreal spent several minutes hyperventilating at the prospect of illegal aliens being deported. “This is causing a lot of fear in the migrant community‚” she whined theatrically. Never mind that lawbreakers are supposed to be fearful of prosecution — the migrants are scared! She continued: There is a big concern about the safety of migrants as they are being pushed back into Mexico… and a lot of migrants are also very fearful that if they do cross the border and they are arrested‚ will they be separated from their children? On Thursday‚ CNN’s Rosa Flores argued that the bill had “many critics‚ including 30 former immigration judges.” She added: “One other big concern is that this could lead to racial profiling of Latinos in the state.” MSNBC’s José Díaz-Balart also used the racial profiling angle on Friday morning: “Civil rights organizations and immigrant advocacy groups warn it could very well lead to racial profiling.” He went on to interview Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX)‚ arguably the most overtly pro-open borders member of Congress‚ who slammed the pending law as “a racist‚ dangerous anti-immigrant bill.” As usual‚ all of the media’s actual objections to enforcing existing federal immigration policy boiled down to some paraphrasing of‚ “But that’s mean!” The American media are further to the left on border security than they are about perhaps any other policy issue.

PBS Anchor Misrepresents Own Poll To Portray Israel's War Against Hamas As Divisive

PBS NewsHour anchor Amna Nawaz joined the Friday edition of Jose Diaz-Balart Reports on MSNBC where she misrepresented PBS’s own polling data in order to portray Israel’s war against Hamas as much more polarizing than it actually is. While discussing some members of Gen Z’s newfound respect for Osama bin Laden that they got from TikTok‚ Nawaz added‚ “But‚ let’s also mention this‚ there is a lot of space between supporting a terrorist leader as some of these videos purport to do and criticizing your own government and their foreign policy. And we’re also speaking at a time when we're seeing a lot of particularly young Americans increasingly uncomfortable with America's support of Israel and Israel's conduct in the war.”     To prove her point‚ Nawaz recalled that‚ “We had a poll out just earlier this week at PBS NewsHour with NPR and Marist in which it showed that some 38 percent of Americans said they believe that Israel's conduct and response to the war so far has been just about right. But also 38 percent believed it had been too much and why that’s noteworthy‚ is because it is 12 points higher than it was just a month ago and it now comprises the majority of Democrats.” By portraying the poll as 38-38‚ Nawaz made it seem as if Israel’s war was extremely divisive because the viewer would likely assume the remaining 24 percent are in the “Don’t Know/No Opinion” category. In reality‚ 17 percent said Israel’s response has not been strong enough. If any other issue was 55-38‚ especially if it was an issue that showed the liberal position in the majority‚ MSNBC and PBS would not portray it as divisive. Any honest discussion of the Democratic numbers would have to include progressive ideology and hypocrisies and the role of media coverage. Predictably‚ Nawaz didn’t want to talk about that. Instead‚ she declared: So what we're seeing the longer the war this goes on and as people are watching and many have seen‚ I should mention‚ you know‚ I heard Congresswoman [Madeleine] Dean speaking so passionately and intimately about those horrific videos from October 7th‚ which I have also seen‚ these are things you will never‚ ever forget once you've seen them‚ but there is now millions of Americans also seeing horrific videos of the loss of life among Gazan civilians and they're increasingly uncomfortable watching this as this goes by and I asked actually Secretary of State Antony Blinken about this last night and he said it is gut wrenching‚ it is heartbreaking‚ but we have to ask what we would do if this was us‚ if it was happening to us and continues to defend America's position. Jose?  It also does not speak well of PBS and MSNBC that the group of Americans least supportive of Israel is the one that is most likely to get their news from outlets such as PBS and MSNBC. Here is a transcript for the November 17 show: MSNBC Jose Diaz-Balart Reports 11/17/2023 11:32 AM ET AMNA NAWAZ: But‚ let’s also mention this‚ there is a lot of space between supporting a terrorist leader as some of these videos purport to do and criticizing your own government and their foreign policy. And we’re also speaking at a time when we're seeing a lot of particularly young Americans increasingly uncomfortable with America's support of Israel and Israel's conduct in the war. We had a poll out just earlier this week at PBS NewsHour with NPR and Marist in which it showed that some 38 percent of Americans said they believe that Israel's conduct and response to the war so far has been just about right. But also 38 percent believed it had been too much and why that’s noteworthy‚ is because it is 12 points higher than it was just a month ago and it now comprises the majority of Democrats. The View‚ Ed. Secretary Cardona Decry State Control of Curriculums

The View‚ Ed. Secretary Cardona Decry State Control of Curriculums

With former teacher Joy Behar moderating Friday’s episode of The View‚ the ABC hosts teamed up with President Biden’s Education secretary‚ Miguel Cardona to blast the idea that states should have the right to determine what their education standards should be and what’s in their curriculums. They also bemoaned that the Supreme Court had struck down discriminatory affirmative action programs‚ but Cardona let something seemingly contradictory to their narrative slip. At one point‚ faux-conservative co-host Ana Navarro praised Cardona and Biden for hiring him. “Can I say that I think Joe Biden recruited very damn well when it comes to the secretary of education‚” she proclaimed. “You make me so incredibly proud and the way you represent this fills my heart every time you’re here and every time I see you.” She then launched into her usual screed about how horrible her home state of Florida was and pushed the debunked lie that the state was teaching students slavery was a good thing. She then teed up Cardona to say red states like Florida were working to harm kids: But we could spend an entire show on what's happening on my home state of Florida. Florida schools are a mess. They’re teaching kids that some black people personally benefited from slavery and there's so many books that have been banned that pop singer Pink is actually giving them out in her Florida concerts. So‚ the culture wars being waged you've said very bluntly‚ “There is a team that is fighting for kids and a team that is fighting against kids.” What do you mean by that?     Cardona reacted by decrying how there were education and parental activists “trying to give local control” of education systems and curriculums. He recalled that when he was a teacher‚ he “didn’t want” the federal government or the state government “telling me what to teach.” “Yet we have state governments taking control of what teachers and parents could decide for their kids. We need to wake up and see what's happening. Not only in Florida but in other states‚” he proclaimed. Racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin was still upset that the Supreme Court had struck down racist and discriminatory affirmative action programs at college campuses. So‚ she wanted Cardona to elaborate more on his past ridiculous statements about the supposed return of “Jim Crow”: This past summer the Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of affirmative action in college admissions. And you called recently that a new low point and warned‚ quote‚ “We are in danger of a new Jim Crow era in some parts of this country.” Are we already seeing the effects of that decision and in your view how long will the impact last? Cardona initially stated: “Look‚ we cannot rest until the diversity on our campuses reflects the beautiful diversity of our country. That's what makes this country special. And‚ unfortunately‚ we're not there.” But as he spoke‚ he seemed to let slip that schools were replacing affirmative action with other programs that were set to have better results at diversifying campuses than affirmative action. “But what I am seeing college presidents doubling down; they’re recruiting better‚ they’re engaging with K-12 institutions. We have an opportunity to really go better than what the affirmative action results are‚” he admitted. As they were wrapping up the segment‚ Behar quipped to Cardona: “You get an ‘A’ from this teacher.” The transcript is below‚ click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View November 17‚ 2023 11:34:04 a.m. Eastern (…) SUNNY HOSTIN: But let me ask you this in terms of inclusivity‚ this past summer the Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of affirmative action in college admissions. And you called recently that a new low point and warned‚ quote‚ “we are in danger of a new Jim Crow era in some parts of this country.” SECRETARY MIGUEL CARDONA (Department of Education): Yeah. HOSTIN: Are we already seeing the effects of that decision and in your view how long will the impact last? CARDONA: Look‚ we cannot rest until the diversity on our campuses reflects the beautiful diversity of our country. That's what makes this country special. HOSTIN: Yeah. [Applause] CARDONA: And‚ unfortunately‚ we're not there. And the Supreme Court decision‚ in my opinion‚ took us a step backward. But what I am seeing college presidents doubling down; they’re recruiting better‚ they’re engaging with K-12 institutions. We have an opportunity to really go better than what the affirmative action results are. We need to hold ourselves accountable and we need to remind colleges that we want our children to go to schools where they'll learn with people that are different than them. HOSTIN: Yes. SARA HAINES: And they’re eliminating legacy and other things and a lot have taken the lead on that. ANA NAVARRO: Can I say that I think Joe Biden recruited very damn well when it comes to the secretary of education. CARDONA: Thank you. [Applause] NAVARRO: You make me so incredibly proud and the way you represent this fills my heart every time you’re here and every time I see you. CARDONA: Thank you. Appreciate that. NAVARRO: But we could spend an entire show on what's happening on my home state of Florida. CARDONA: Look‚ look at what we're trying to do. We're trying to open doors for all kids. You [Alyssa Farah Griffin] talked earlier about‚ like‚ the G.I. Bill. Public service loan forgiveness is that for public servants to get them into professions‚ nurses. Like‚ we're trying and then we have a team that's trying to cut funding. We have a team that's trying to give local control‚ that's what we – as a teacher I didn't want the federal government telling me what to teach or the state government. Yet we have state governments taking control of what teachers and parents could decide for their kids. We need to wake up and see what's happening. Not only in Florida but in other states. [Applause] JOY BEHAR: Well‚ it's been a pleasure having you here today. Keep up the good work like she said‚ I approve. CARDONA: Great! Thank you. BEHAR: You get an "A" from this teacher.

Redefining impeachment is a perilous path for conservatives

Redefining impeachment is a perilous path for conservatives

As secretary of the Department of Homeland Security‚ Alejandro Mayorkas has carried out the Biden administration’s open-borders policy and deliberately produced the worst illegal mass migration in history. Since he took office‚ he has released 3 million illegal immigrants directly into the country‚ a population the size of Arkansas. And while the Border Patrol has been occupied changing diapers and taking names‚ an additional 1.7 million known “gotaways” have entered the country as well — an additional illegal population the size of Hawaii. The impact on schools‚ hospitals‚ homeless shelters‚ working families’ wages‚ social programs‚ law enforcement‚ and national security has been catastrophic. In response‚ many are demanding Mayorkas’ impeachment for “failing to maintain operational control of the border‚” as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) resolution puts it.He is certainly guilty of that and more: maladministration‚ malfeasance‚ and neglect of duties on a truly historic scale. But these are not impeachable offenses. We know this because the American Founders specifically rejected these terms at the Constitutional Convention. As James Madison explained‚ the Constitution’s framers feared that such imprecise grounds could be twisted into a weapon for political grievances and turned against the executive branch whenever Congress saw fit. This would make the president a mere minister of Congress‚ utterly destroying the separation of powers at the heart of the Constitution. We must never allow the left to become our teachers. Theirs is a world of strictly situational ethics antithetical to our Constitution and the rule of law. They chose‚ instead‚ very specific and limited charges of “treason‚ bribery‚ or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” True‚ many politicians through the centuries have tried to pervert the term “high crimes and misdemeanors” into a similarly vague definition. But the Founders would not have substituted one vague term for another. Thus‚ we are left with the plain meaning of the phrase: clearly defined crimes related to the duties of the office. If Greene is successful in redefining impeachment‚ then the next time Democrats have the majority‚ we can expect this new definition to be turned against the conservatives on the Supreme Court and any future Republican administration. And there would be nobody to stop them‚ because Republicans will have signed off on this new and unconstitutional abuse of power. We must never allow the left to become our teachers. Theirs is a world of strictly situational ethics antithetical to our Constitution and the rule of law. I vigorously opposed the sham impeachments of Donald Trump for exactly the same reason. What is the practical effect of impeaching Mayorkas‚ other than assuring that Republicans will have no defense when a future Democrat majority turns this new definition against them? Even in the delusional fantasy where two-thirds of the senators remove him‚ the same policies will remain in place as long as the Biden-Harris administration holds office. This crisis was set in motion by voters who elected them and can only be fixed by voters replacing them with a president determined to secure the border‚ as Donald Trump did. Elections have consequences — sometimes terrible consequences — and this is one of them. The only Cabinet secretary ever impeached was Ulysses Grant’s secretary of war‚ for running a family bribery scheme. The House Oversight Committee is painstakingly assembling evidence that suggests the Bidens may have been doing exactly that for decades. Such a serious inquiry can only have legitimacy and credibility if the rule of law is respected and the constitutional guardrails are observed. By taking the Mayorkas impeachment directly to a vote without abiding by the requirements of due process or respecting constitutional constraints‚ Greene is tainting this serious impeachment inquiry with a shoot-from-the-hip stunt that is reckless‚ partisan‚ and unserious. In Robert Bolt’s “A Man for All Seasons‚” William Roper vows to “cut down every law in England” to get at the Devil. Sir Thomas More replies‚ “Oh? And when the last law was down‚ and the Devil turned ’round on you‚ where would you hide‚ Roper‚ the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws‚ from coast to coast‚ Man’s laws‚ not God’s! And if you cut them down‚ and you're just the man to do it‚ do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes‚ I’d give the Devil benefit of law‚ for my own safety’s sake!”And that’s why I voted against Greene’s resolution.

Wealthy Shanghai-based American Marxist and his radical wife are bankrolling anti-Israel protests in the US: Report

George Soros' Open Society Foundations is far from the only game in town when it comes to radical leftist astroturfing campaigns. A damning new report has revealed that a wealthy China-based Marxist and his radical wife have been helping sow discord in the U.S.‚ most recently by filling the coffers of a group staging anti-Israel protests and fomenting pro-Palestinian rage in the United States. Bari Weiss' the Free Press recently zeroed in on how tech entrepreneur Neville Roy Singham — who lived the capitalist dream by selling his software consulting company Thoughtworks in 2017 for $785 million — has been bankrolling a pro-Hamas organization that is scheming to intimidate lawmakers and hold American mobility‚ critical infrastructure‚ and trade hostage until Israel is forsaken and the West is saddled with the Palestinian cause. The extremist outfit seeking the West's ruination The organization in question‚ the People's Forum‚ touts itself as a "movement incubator for working class and marginalized communities to build unity across historic lines of division at home and abroad. We are an accessible educational and culture space that nurtures the next generation of visionaries and organizers who believe that through collective action a new world is possible." Ostensibly unwilling to test its ideas at the ballot box‚ TPF appears keen instead to turn to intimidation and mob actions to get its way‚ blockading streets and critical infrastructure; swarming political offices and businesses; and turning to other forms of "direct action." This preference for ochlocratic upheaval is unsurprising given the kinds of leftist movements and mass murderers the group idolizes‚ including Soviet dictator Vladimir Lenin. While antipathetic to the West in general‚ TPF reserves special hatred for Israel‚ calling for people to mobilize "from within the heart of empire to demand an immediate ceasefire‚ an end of all aid to Israel‚ and a lifting of the siege on Gaza." The Manhattan-based revolutionary socialist group has co-organized numerous anti-Israel demonstrations in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks on Israel‚ including the celebratory rally in Times Square on Oct. 8. TPF made clear the timing of this rally was no mistake‚ claiming in a subsequent statement that the terrorists who butchered thousands of unarmed Israelis and dozens of Americans were "Palestinian resistance factions" whose attacks constituted "an unprecedented liberation struggle." Recipients of Singham's funds continued‚ writing‚ "We stand with the Palestinian people. We defend their fundamental right to resist an illegal occupation‚ break out of their concentration camp‚ and defy the cruelty of the sixteen-year Zionist blockade‚" likening Hamas to the similarly murderous Viet Cong as though that were a positive. "We mobilize in the belly of the beast because we understand that we have a unique role to play in combating material support for Zionism‚ and weakening the handmaiden of U.S. global imperialism‚" added the leftist organization. The Free Press' Francesca Block indicated that Singham has been the main funder of TPF since 2017. Between 2017 and 2022‚ Singham and his wife‚ Jodie Evans‚ a former Democratic political activist‚ reportedly funneled $20.4 million to the People's Forum "through a series of shell organizations and donor advisory groups." Singham's wife reportedly jumped into leftist activism and professionally criticizing America in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks on the homeland. Evans' go-to causes are climate alarmism‚ gender‚ and race hustling. Upon TPF's inception in 2017‚ she was made one of the organization's three board members. While TPF's website and tax documents fail to mention Singham‚ the Free Press traced funds from the radical couple to TPF via a Goldman Sachs-run fund. Additionally‚ TPF has admitted to taking Singham's money‚ writing on X‚ "A few years ago we met Roy Singham‚ a Marxist comrade who sold his company &; donated most of his wealth to non-profits that focus on political education‚ culture &; internationalism." "It seems to bother some folk that we receive funding that furthers our anti-imperialist politics. It seems to bother them even more that our funder is also a staunch anti-imperialist whose work goes back to the Black Panthers &; the LRBW in Detroit‚" continued the admission. "Roy follows in the footsteps of his father Archie‚ a committed activist for National Liberation." Archibald Singham was a Sri Lankan leftist academic and so-called "anti-imperialist" who worked at Brooklyn College. Mouthpieces for the Chinese regime Singham‚ now based in Shanghai‚ appears to qualify Western success as imperialism and communist imperialism as success. The New York Times reported earlier this year that "hidden amid a tangle of nonprofit groups and shell companies ... Mr. Singham works closely with the Chinese government media machine and is financing its propaganda worldwide. From a think tank in Massachusetts to an event space in Manhattan‚ from a political party in South Africa to news organizations in India and Brazil‚ The Times tracked hundreds of millions of dollars to groups linked to Mr. Singham that mix progressive advocacy with Chinese government talking points." In July‚ Singham reportedly joined a Communist Party workshop about promoting the genocidal regime internationally. Evans‚ the co-founder of Code Pink‚ is also a hard-core supporter of the Chinese regime‚ denouncing pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong and Xi Jinping's Uyghur victims alike. The Times indicated that none of the nonprofits Singham uses to finance leftist initiatives and propaganda favorable to America's adversaries have been registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act "as is required of groups that seek to influence public opinion on behalf of foreign powers." "I categorically deny and repudiate any suggestion that I am a member of‚ work for‚ take orders from‚ or follow instructions of any political party or government or their representatives‚" he reportedly said in an email. "I am solely guided by my beliefs‚ which are my long-held personal views." Citing the Times' report‚ Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) wrote to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Aug. 9 to ensure that the DOJ investigates whether Singham is complying with FARA. "It appears that organizations tied to Neville Roy Singham‚ a U.S. citizen‚ have been receiving direction from the CCP. Mr. Singham is the founder of Thoughtworks‚ a Chicago-based software consultancy‚ and for many years‚ promoted far-left causes. Mr. Singham reportedly created a dark money system that allows him to send funds to a number of far-left organizations‚" wrote Rubio. The Republican senator requested that the DOJ investigate various radical outfits linked to Singham including Code Pink‚ TPF‚ No Cold War‚ and Tricontinental. The Free Press indicated neither Singham nor Evans replied to requests for comment. — (@) Like Blaze News?
