Parental Rights Group Seeks Title IX Probe of YMCA Over Transgenders in Locker Rooms

A parents’ rights group is asking the Trump administration to investigate the YMCA for possible violations of federal law for allowing men who identify as women into women’s locker rooms and, in several instances, allowing them to expose their naked bodies to women and girls.  “I write to file a formal complaint against the YMCA of the USA (“YMCA”) for engaging in unlawful gender-based discrimination in its programs and policies,” Alleigh Marré, the executive director of the American Parents Coalition, wrote in a letter on June 10 to the secretaries of the departments of Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, and Education. The letter follows news reports that indicated the national YMCA organization had issued guidance as far back as 2017 recommending that biologically male campers and staff be allowed to use the cabins and bathrooms “aligned with their gender identity” at YMCA camps. The letter then goes on to outline how individual YMCAs had implemented those policies. In April, a mother and her young daughter were exposed to a naked man in a women’s locker room at a local YMCA in Kansas City, Missouri. The individual in question reportedly said something along the lines of “Honey, I’m a woman,” when the girl’s mother inquired why he was in the locker room. That YMCA told WDAF-TV in Kansas City that “individuals are allowed to use the locker room or restroom that they identify with,” but that “members are asked to wear a towel, wrap, or other clothes at all times.” Paula Spreitzer Oxler, the vice president of marketing and communications at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, provided a statement to The Daily Signal about the incident. “We’re aware that a recent alleged incident at the North Kansas City YMCA has made some community and YMCA members concerned about their safety at the Y. We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and safe at the Y,” Oxler wrote. “The YMCA of Greater Kansas City has been working closely with law enforcement throughout the investigation, which is ongoing. The member in question has had their membership suspended, pending that investigation,” she added. “The incident as reported would be an unacceptable violation of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s policies and core values,” Oxler said. Separately, a man was caught nude by Rebecca Phillips, a 17-year-old teenage girl, who was showering in the women’s locker room at the Cameron Family YMCA in Santee, California. “As long as you are not a red flag on Megan’s Law—California sex-offender registry—a grown male can shower alongside a teenage girl at your YMCA location here in Santee,” Phillips said of the incident. The Cameron Family YMCA did not respond to a request for comment. The American Parents Coalition’s letter to the federal agencies details other instances of males in women’s spaces at local YMCAs, and notes that “[in] recent weeks, the YMCA has either restricted access to the portions of its website that deal with gender policies or has taken down those pages altogether.” Because the YMCA is the recipient of more than $600 million in government grants each year, it is obligated to follow federal law when it receives federal money. That means abiding by Title IX. Title IX “prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance,” according to the Department of Education. “The YMCA’s policy of disfavoring and imperiling young girls and favoring and empowering those who choose to present as a gender other than their own is antithetical to the principles of federal civil rights law and gender equality,” Marré wrote in her letter. She also told The Daily Signal that the YMCA’s policies matter because it annually serves more than 4 million children and teens across the country. “They do a lot of after-school programming, summer camps. When kids are out of school, especially in that either preschool or elementary age, they function as a child care option in the summer for a lot of parents and families,” Marré explained. President Trump’s Amnesty for Whole Industries?

President Trump is concerned about longtime farm and hospitality workers being forced out of the country because they are here illegally. He appears to be giving them amnesty. President Trump is pausing deportations on farms, the entire agriculture industry, hotel industry, and eateries (food industry). Tech seems immune also. According to the New York Times, […] The post President Trump’s Amnesty for Whole Industries? appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Sen. Paul: Parade Honoring the Army’s 250 Years Is Soviet-Like

Sen. Rand Paul said he grew up in the ’80s and the only parades he remembers were Soviet and North Korean parades. That is what honoring our military yesterday meant to the libertarian senator. He thinks it was to glorify weapons. Actually, it was to glorify all those who are willing to die for their […] The post Sen. ‘It’s Not Dark, It’s Not Tense’: MSNBC Struggles To Accept Fun Vibe Of Army Birthday Parade

As President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth — along with others in the administration — joined together to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday on Saturday, several at MSNBC appeared to struggle with the fact that the overall vibe on the ground was less fraught and more fun. Host Chris Hayes compared the scene to typical Trump rallies — which he claimed could be “very tense” and sometimes had a “dark, malevolent energy” — and then seemed genuinely surprised to note that the scene playing out at the National Mall had a very different feel. WATCH: Over at MSNBC, they’re almost SHOCKED the celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday isn’t “tense” and doesn’t have “dark, malevolent energy.” These people… pic.twitter.com/ZO0fxWohsI — Townhall.com (@townhallcom) June 15, 2025 “One thing I will say — I want to go back to you, Ali, again, when we talk about the sort of tension in the country,” Hayes began. “And sometimes, you know, you and I have both been at Trump rallies, those can be, you know, very tense, a kind of — I would say a kind of dark, malevolent energy sometimes in them. Not always, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the energy on the Mall today, which I think is a good sign, right?” “Correct,” Ali Velshi — who was on location — replied. “You’re — you’re really correct about that, Chris, and it’s something that we — that we were watching for. I’m just sort of surprised by the number of people who were at the front of the parade watching, cheering, and then would come and ask to take a selfie.” “This is a very different mood here,” Velshi continued. “People seem to be going out of their way to say that they’re here to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday.” He said he’d seen one guy carrying a sign that said, “TRUMP 2028,” but that most people were not bringing politics into the celebration. “It’s not dark. It’s not tense,” he said. “It’s different.”

WATCH: ‘Free Palestine’ Brick Thrown Through Window Of Kosher Grocery Store In Boston Area

The owner of a kosher grocery store in the Boston-area is speaking out after a brick with “Free Palestine” on it was thrown through his business’s window Saturday night. The owner of The Butcherie, Gil Zilberberg, said a brick was thrown through the window of his store in Brookline—a Boston suburb with a large Jewish population— by masked men early around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. “This is an attack on the Jewish people of Boston,” Zilberberg told The Daily Wire. “Nobody should be fearful of coming to get kosher food.” “This is an attack on the Jewish people of Boston. Nobody should be fearful of coming to get kosher food.” Butcherie owner Gil Zilberberg spoke to me after masked vandals threw a brick painted with “Free Palestine” at his kosher grocery store in Brookline, MA last night. pic.twitter.com/cMNSEMpYs2 — Kassy Akiva (@KassyAkiva) June 15, 2025 Surveillance footage obtained by The Daily Wire shows a group of masked vandals behind and beside the store before one of them runs up and hurls a brick through a map displaying winery locations in Israel. The group quickly ran away down the street. Police are investigating the incident, but no one has been apprehended. “There is a non-political statement here. This is a map of Israel with all the best wines that Israel has to offer,” Zilberberg said. “This is just a pure hate crime.” One of the grocery store’s employees found the brick and shattered glass when coming to open the store Sunday morning. The 54-year-old store is the only kosher grocery in the Boston area and has been in Zilberberg’s family since his grandfather opened it in 1971. “This has never happened in the Butcherie’s history,” Zilberberg said. Around 1:15 AM last night, masked individuals threw a brick painted with “Free Palestine” at the only kosher grocery store in the Boston area. Here is the footage. pic.twitter.com/vLkVVMlBxh — Kassy Akiva (@KassyAkiva) June 15, 2025 Zilberberg pointed out that the vandalism occurred overnight when his fellow Jews in Israel were sheltering from Iranian ballistic missiles. “I feel horrible as a Jewish person that we have to go through these things these days,” Zilberberg said. Since the launch of Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion,” aimed at destroying Iranian weapons and nuclear capabilities, Iran has fired 270 missiles at Israel—22 of which have struck targets—according to the Israeli government. Thirteen people have been killed, including three children. Another 380 have been injured: 9 are in serious condition, 30 are in moderate condition, and 351 sustained minor injuries. There is a rally planned by the local Jewish community to show support for Zilberberg at 2:00 p.m. outside the establishment.  Anti-Semitic incidents have surged by 500% since October 7, 2023, with 1,200 reported incidents, according to data from the Anti-Defamation League.

‘We Will Have PEACE’: Trump Issues Statement On Iran And Israel Amid Hostilities

President Donald Trump issued a statement on Sunday morning calling for Iran and Israel to “make a deal” that would put an end to the hostilities between the two Middle eastern nations. Both the United States and Israel have been adamant that any such deal cannot include an Iran that continues to pursue nuclear capabilities. Trump issued the statement — in which he said such a deal could “MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN” — in a post to his Truth Social platform. pic.twitter.com/TWm8Okb1ym — Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) June 15, 2025 “Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal, just like I got India and Pakistan to make, in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!” Trump began, referencing the recent exchange of missile fire between Pakistan and India. “Also, during my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were going at it hot and heavy, as they have for many decades, and this long time conflict was ready to break out into WAR,” Trump continued, before taking a jab at former President Joe Biden’s administration. “I stopped it (Biden has hurt the longer term prospects with some very stupid decisions, but I will fix it, again!).” Trump went on to mention tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia and his administration’s efforts to keep those tensions from escalating into greater conflict. “Another case is Egypt and Ethiopia, and their fight over a massive dam that is having an effect on the magnificent Nile River. There is peace, at least for now, because of my intervention, and it will stay that way!” Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran!” the president pivoted back to the issue at hand. “Many calls and meetings now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand. MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump Travel Ban 2.0: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Trump Travel Ban 2.0: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

President Donald Trump earlier this month announced ban on travel from a dozen countries and partial restrictions from seven more in an effort to protect the United States from terrorist and public safety threats. The ban fully restricts or limits the entry of nationals from 12 countries “found to be deficient with regards to screening and vetting and determined to pose a very high risk to the United States” including Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Seven countries will face partial travel restrictions, including Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. The White House says the order makes exceptions for lawful permanent residents, people with existing visas, certain visa types, and anyone whose entry would support American national interests. According to the White House, the goal of the ban is to pressure foreign governments to cooperate on security, help enforce United States immigration laws, and support key national security and counterterrorism priorities. The restrictions follow a January executive order in which national security agencies were told to assess the security risks of various countries. That review led to the current list. Here are the reasons the Trump administration says each country is facing restrictions: Full Restrictions: Afghanistan Taliban-controlled Afghanistan lacks a reliable government to issue valid passports and civil documents and does not have adequate screening and vetting measures, according to the Trump administration. Furthermore, Afghanistan has a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of nearly 10% and a student (F), vocational (M), and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of nearly 30%. Burma Burma has extremely high visa overstay rates — over 27% for tourist/business visas (B1/B2) and more than 42% for student (F), vocational (M), and exchange visitor (J) visas. Burma has also refused to take back its citizens who are ordered to be deported from the U.S. The government added that Burma has “historically not cooperated with the United States to accept back their removable nationals.” HOW TRUMP AND RUBIO PUT AMERICA FIRST IN 100 DAYS Chad Chad has one of the worst visa overstay rates, with nearly 50% for business/tourist (B1/B2) visas and over 55% for student (F), vocational (M), and exchange (J) visas in 2023. In 2022, the B1/B2 overstay rate was also high at 37.12%. The U.S. says these numbers indicate “a blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws.” Republic of the Congo The Republic of the Congo, which has been embroiled in conflict for more than 30 years, also has a visa overstay issue with a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of almost 30% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visas, overstay rate of about 35%. Equatorial Guinea Equatorial Guinea, located in central Africa, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) overstay rate of 21.98% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 70.18%. Eritrea The United States questions the competence of the central authority for issuance of passports or civil documents in Eritrea, and says it does not have access to criminal records for Eritrean nationals. The east African country has also historically refused to accept back its deported citizens. Its tourist/business (B1/B2) visa overstay rate is about 20% and student (F) visas, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate is about 55%. Haiti Currently overrun by murderous gangs, Haiti had hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flood into the United States during the Biden administration. According to the Trump administration the “influx harms American communities by creating acute risks of increased overstay rates, establishment of criminal networks, and other national security threats.” Haiti also lacks “a central authority with sufficient availability and dissemination of law enforcement information necessary to ensure its nationals do not undermine the national security of the United States.” Haiti had a tourist/business (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 31.38% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of about 25.05%. Iran Iran, a leading state sponsor of terrorism, routinely fails to cooperate with the United States government in identifying security risks and has historically failed to accept back its nationals eligible for deportation. IDF RECOVERS BODIES OF TWO AMERICAN HOSTAGES IN GAZA Libya Libya lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents. The country’s historical terrorism presence amplifies the risk of Libyan nationals entering the United States. Somalia Somalia also lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents, does not have appropriate screening and vetting measures, and has historically refused to take back its nationals eligible for deportation. The Trump administration says Somalia differs from the other countries due to its government lacking command and control of its territory, “which greatly limits the effectiveness of its national capabilities in a variety of respects.” Somalia is also a “terrorist safe haven” where radicals travel to join terrorist groups that pose a threat to the United States. Sudan Sudan, located in northern Africa, lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents and lacks appropriate screening and vetting measures. Sudan had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 26.30% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of about 28.40%. Yemen Yemen, which is currently overrun by the U.S.-designated terror group, the Houthis, lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents and it does not have appropriate screening and vetting measures. The Trump administration has bombed the group for weeks in an effort to restore global trade that the Iran-backed proxy disrupted. Partial Restrictions: Burundi Burundi, located in eastern Africa, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 15.35% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of about 17.52%. Cuba Cuba, a designated state sponsor of terrorism, does not cooperate or share sufficient law enforcement information with the United States and has historically refused to accept back its removable nationals. Cuba had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 7.69% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 18.75%. IDF SAYS IT’S ‘PREPARED’ TO DEAL WITH GRETA THUNBERG’S FLOTILLA EN ROUTE TO GAZA Laos Laos, located in southeast Asia, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 34.77% and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 6.49%. Laos has also historically failed to accept back its removable nationals. Sierra Leone Sierra Leone, located in western Africa, has historically failed to accept back its removable nationals. It had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 15.43 percent and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 35.83 percent. GAZANS FLOOD THE STREETS TO PROTEST HAMAS AS IDF OPERATIONS INTENSIFY Togo Togo, also located in western Africa, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 19.03 percent and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 35.05 percent. Turkmenistan Turkmenistan, a country in Central Asia, had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 15.35 percent and a student (F) visa, vocational (M) visas, and exchange visitor (J) visa overstay rate of 21.74 percent. Venezuela Venezuela, a socialist-run country  known for wrongfully detaining American citizens, has historically refused to accept back its removable nationals. It also does not have a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documents and lacks appropriate screening and vetting measures. Venezuela had a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa overstay rate of 9.83 percent.
