Noah here with a Public Service Announcement…. As I told you last night in my Newsletter (sign up for Free here), we’re doing two Thanksgivings this year….one we did today and one we’re doing tomorrow. A holiday so nice we’re doing it twice! And that’s good with my because I love Thanksgiving! But here’s my public service announcement…. This might sound silly, but sometimes when I find things that are really great I want to share them with you. I always get a little intimidated by cooking the turkey, hey it’s a big job and the entire meal is ruined if you mess up the turkey!  Overdoing it is bad, undercooking is even worse, everyone goes home with violent diarrhea. So you have to get it right. And I came armed to this grilling session with three different meat thermometers. One was the classic one you see in the photo above…. I bought it new from the store this year and it was pure garbage. It read 190 degrees before I stuck it in and then it read 90 degrees immediately after I first stuck it in. Of course neither were right. But who can tell anyway from the way the screen fogs up and cakes over almost instantly. So that was worthless. About halfway through I got out the second thermometer…. This one was a nice one, still in the box.  I have no idea where it came from, probably a gift from someone. Very nice, very fancy, but no instructions at all in the box. So I go out to the grill and poke this bad boy into the turkey, close the lid because you have to keep the heat in right, and let it cook. Luckily I checked up on it after about 10 minutes to see how it was doing and what temp it was reading and the whole thing had melted! Turns out this was more of a “post cooking” thermometer, not rated for use ON the grill. I quickly pulled it out and thank goodness it was all still self-contained and while it was quickly melting into a pile of mush, nothing had really exploded or gotten on the food (unless I end up dead tomorrow from Mercury poisoning, and then you’ll all know what happened to me!  Either death by Mercury poisoning or the Clintons finally got me!). So anyway, two thermometers dead but I still had one to go…and that’s the one I want to tell you about. It’s made by a company called MEATER (get it?  It’s a meter measurement for meat, hence MEATER) and it’s totally awesome!! No, MEATER is not paying me anything to write this article, I just thought their product was SO GOOD that I wanted to tell you all about it…. And it’s my website so I get to do what I want! Here’s what it looked like in my turkey: By the way, I don’t want to brag or anything but isn’t that a good looking bird? I was pretty happy with it this year! And here’s what it looks like up close: It comes in this beautiful wood box that also serves as the charging unit so it’s always charged when you go to use it. You stick it in the whatever you’re cooking and this bad boy won’t melt on the grill like my other one, this is fire rated for up to 1,000 degrees! Then the really cool part is it wirelessly syncs to your phone and gives you readouts for the internal temp of the meat you’re cooking, the target temp for when it’s safe to eat (165 degrees for turkey) and the ambient temp inside your grill or oven or wherever you’re cooking (recommended 325-350 for the grill, low and slow baby). It then calculates how much time you have remaining, and then after that’s over it instantly changes to a countdown clock for letting the meat rest, which is so important. (@AprilSpark1890) November 25, 2025 News 18 reported more on the Remove the Regime protest: Thousands of demonstrators marched in Washington, DC on Saturday, demanding the impeachment, conviction, and removal of US President Donald Trump in one of the largest anti-Trump protests in recent months. The event, branded “Remove the Regime” and organised by grassroots network Removal Coalition, drew crowds to the National Mall, where political leaders, activists and artists urged Congress to act against Trump. The rally included performances by the Dropkick Murphys and musician Earth to Eve before protesters set off on a march through central Washington. This latest protest comes during a record-setting year for US demonstrations amid growing discontent throughout the administration. Last month, over 7 million people took part in the “No Kings” protests, held amid what later became a record-breaking government shutdown. Large crowds of protesters marched and rallied in cities across the US, voicing fears that the government under Trump is rapidly veering toward authoritarianism. Demonstrators beat drums and chanted slogans such as “Nothing is more patriotic than protesting” and “Resist fascism” as they denounced the administration’s policies. “Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Donald Trump has got to go!” chanted protesters, many waving American flags. In Washington DC, one flag was flown upside down — a traditional symbol of distress — underscoring the demonstrators’ sense of urgency.

President Trump has just announced some tragic news. President Trump has sadly announced National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom who was shot just blocks away from the White House on Wednesday has died. Beckstrom, who was enlisted with the West Virginia National Guard, died on Thursday evening after suffering a mortal wound after an Afghan national shot her in the head. The Guardian reported more on Trump’s tragic announcement: Sarah Beckstrom, one of the national guard troops shot in Washington DC on Wednesday, has died, Donald Trump said on Thursday. “Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia, one of the guardsmen that we’re talking about, highly respected, young, magnificent person … She’s just passed away. She’s no longer with us,” Trump said in his first live remarks since the shooting. Beckstrom, 20, was one of two members of the national guards shot near the White House in a targeted attack. The other member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still fighting for his life, according to the president. Beckstrom’s father had told the New York Times in a phone call earlier in the day that his daughter was unlikely to recover. “I’m holding her hand right now,” Gary Beckstrom said. “She has a mortal wound. It’s not going to be a recovery.” Both Beckstrom and Wolfe belonged to the West Virginia National Guard, which deployed hundreds of troops to Washington as part of Trump’s crime-fighting mission in the capital. On Thursday, West Virginia’s governor, Patrick Morrisey, confirmed Beckstrom’s death in a social media post: “Sarah served with courage, extraordinary resolve, and an unwavering sense of duty to her state and to her nation. She answered the call to serve, stepped forward willingly, and carried out her mission with the strength and character that define the very best of the West Virginia National Guard.” Beckstrom, from Webster Springs, West Virginia, entered service in June 2023. Authorities have identified the suspect in the attack as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29. Little is known yet about his life, but officials have confirmed that Lakanwal came to the US in September 2021 from his native Afghanistan under a program that gave some Afghans who had worked for the US government entry visas. He was granted asylum in April this year, under the Trump administration, Reuters reported. Lakanwal worked with CIA-backed military units during the US war in Afghanistan, the CIA has confirmed. A resident of eastern Afghanistan who identified himself as Lakanwal’s cousin told the Associated Press that he was originally from the province of Khost. The cousin, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, said Lakanwal had worked in a special Afghan Army unit. If I don’t talk to you don’t be offended, this has been a horrible tragedy” pic.twitter.com/loqpnxVerR — Leftism (@LeftismForU) November 27, 2025 NBC News reported an update on Andrew Wolfe the second National Guardsmen that was shot: The other National Guard member was identified as Andrew Wolfe, who Trump said was “fighting for his life” and “in very bad shape.” Both are from the West Virginia National Guard, Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said at a Thursday news conference. Beckstrom and Wolfe were serving on the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Mission when they were shot around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, the West Virginia National Guard said in a news release. The shooting occurred less than 24 hours after they were deputized to maintain their status to conduct presence patrols, said a spokesperson for the joint task force investigating the shooting. Wolfe is hospitalized in critical condition.

This is truly tragic. The father of the National Guardswomen who was shot by an Afghan national just blocks away from the White House on Wednesday has revealed his daughter is not expected to recover. While speaking to the New York Times, Gary Beckstrom, the father of U.S. Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, revealed his daughter has a “mortal wound.” The New York Times broke the story and provided quotes from Beckstrom’s father: Officials identified the Guard members as U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, and U.S. Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20. Sergeant Wolfe, of Martinsburg, W.Va., entered the service on Feb. 5, 2019, and was assigned to the Force Support Squadron, 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard. Specialist Beckstrom, of Summersville, W.Va., started her service on June 6, 2023, and was assigned to the 863rd Military Police Company, 111th Engineer Brigade of the West Virginia Army National Guard. Both had been deployed to Washington since August, when President Trump ordered troops to the capital as part of what his administration described as a crackdown on crime. Specialist Beckstrom’s father said his daughter was unlikely to recover. “I’m holding her hand right now,” Gary Beckstrom said when reached by phone. “She has a mortal wound. It’s not going to be a recovery.” He declined to speak further. Yet now their families are in hospital rooms with them, while they are fighting for their lives,” she added. “Everyone just pray today for these two soldiers.” Another wounded Guard member, Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, is in critical condition, officials said. “All we need right now are prayers for my son,” a man at Wolfe’s home told the Times. They are both members of the West Virginia National Guard, which sent hundreds of troops to the nation’s capital as part of President Donald Trump’s crime-fighting mission that included taking control of the local police department. Nearly 2,200 Guard personnel were deployed to Washington for the operation.
