The original Kiss drummer Peter Criss, who was also the vocalist on many hits of the band like "Beth", "Hard Luck Woman" and "Black Diamond", announced a new solo album. The title was still not revealed but will be his first record since "One For All", released in 2007. Some of the special guests of Criss' record are the bassist Billy Sheehan, guitarist John 5 and pianist Paul Shaffer. He talked about the upcoming album in an interview with Mike Brunn. "Yeah, I'm excited," Peter said. "I got great players on it. I got Billy Sheehan, Paul Shaffer, Johnny 5, Michael, my guitarist, [and] I got Piggy from Rob Zombie. So it's like a dream team band. And it's a real Peter Criss album. It's an album I always wanted to do. And hopefully the fans will like it," he said (Transcribed by Blabbermouth). During his solo career, Criss released five studio albums: "Peter Criss" (1978), "Out of Control" (1980), "Let Me Rock You" (1982), "Cat No. 1 (1994) and "One For All" (2007). In Kiss he was part of:  "Kiss" (1974), "Hotter than Hell" (1974), "Dressed to Kill" (1975), "Destroyer" (1976), "Rock and Roll Over" (1976), "Love Gun" (1977), "Dynasty" (1979) and "Psycho Circus" (1998). The former Montrose and Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar revealed that he originally wanted to sing "No More Tears" during Black Sabbath's final show which will happen next July and also will be Ozzy's final concert, so many of his songs will also be played that night. However, Tom Morello, who is producing the show, told him that Ozzy wants to try to sing that one so he picked "Flying High Again", track from Ozzy's second album "Diary of a Madman". Sammy Hagar says he will sing "Flying High Again" at Black Sabbath's final show GHe explained how he was invited in an interview with Loudwire Nights "Well, the fact that I got asked to do it almost the first day… When the word started leaking out — inside word — [the event's musical director] Tom Morello calls me and says, 'Hey, man, would you be interested?' I went, 'Yes.' He didn't even have to say what. 'Would you be interested?' 'Yes, Tom. I'm in — all in.' "I was so flattered that I was one of the early guys on. But I had just done the Hall Of Fame for inducting Foreigner, and I sang some Foreigner songs, and Ozzy, his induction followed my (performance) induction. And they sat there and watched me do my thing, and I think I was just fresh on their mind. 'Cause other than that, I don't sing like Ozzy — I'm a different kind of singer. And so I've been studying. Everybody's asking, 'What do you listen to?' I'm saying, 'I'm listening to fucking Ozzy until the fifth (of July).' I gotta learn his phrasing. Looking back now, it seems like Rock and Roll was just starting to get even better in 1969, but the late The Doors vocalist and main lyricist Jim Morrison had a different point of view. He believed that the music didn't have the same essence as in the previous decades because it became a self-conscious thing. But he hoped that after the Vietnam war was over, the music could be revived again and turns out he was actually kind of right about it. Why Jim Morrison believed Rock and Roll was dead back in 1969 He said that in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 1969. "It’s like what we were talking about earlier in the movement back to the roots. The initial flash is over. The thing they call rock, what used to be called rock and roll — it got decadent. And then there was a rock revival sparked by the English. That went very far. It was articulate. Then it became self-conscious, which I think is the death of any moment. It became self-conscious, involuted and kind of incestuous. The energy is gone. There is no longer a belief." "I think that for any generation to assert itself as an aware human entity, it has to break with the past. So obviously the kids that are coming along next are not going to have much in common with what we feel. They’re going to create their own unique sound. Things like wars and monetary cycles get involved, too." He continued: "Rock and roll probably could be explained by… it was after the Korean War was ended. There was a psychic purge. There seemed to be a need for an underground explosion, like an eruption. So maybe after the Vietnam War is over, it’ll probably take a couple of years maybe. It’s hard to say, but it’s possible that the deaths will end in a couple of years. (So) there will again be a need for a life force to express itself, to assert itself," Jim Morrison said. He was then asked if he felt he could be part of that and the musician explained that it was hard to say but maybe as a "corporation executive". He tragically died two years later, in 1971, at the age of 27. The Vietnam war came to an end in 1975 but during the 70s many bands wrote songs inspired by all the violence and hate in the world and the music genre continued to evolve especially until the 90s. Nowadays, many famous artists believe that Rock is Dead, like Gene Simmons for example. Besides being one of the most important members of The Beatles and one of the most praised songwriters and bassists of all time, Paul McCartney is actually a multi-instrumentalist. He can play a wide variety of instruments and even recorded three solo albums during his career on which he played every note himself. He was also the guitarist on several Beatles songs and often demonstrates what a great guitar player he is during his live shows. At one point, he praised a legendary guitar player who truly changed the course of Rock and Roll music. However, he also noted that although the guitarist was great, he was not better than Jimi Hendrix. The guitarist Paul McCartney called great but not better than Hendrix In 1978, after Van Halen released their groundbreaking self-titled debut album the Rock and Roll scene was shocked and trying to figure out how Eddie Van Halen played. He showed the world there was a whole new way to play the instrument and that made him be compared with the late legendary Jimi Hendrix, who also caused a real guitar revolution in the late 60s. Paul McCartney was one of those musicians who were impressed and praised Eddie's talent and technique, but he noted that although he was amazing, he was not better than Jimi Hendrix. “I have very fond memories of Jimi. I mean, Van Halen’s great, I love Eddie Van Halen. But I still think Jimi was the best,” Paul McCartney told Rolling Stone magazine in 1986. A couple of years later he praised the Dutch guitarist again, revealing he liked some "Heavy Metal" musicians too. “I like Eddie Van Halen as a player. He gets it right quite often. I like a lot of heavy metal guys because they wind it up. What I usually like in a heavy metal band is the guitar player. But when it’s just miles of scales, I lose interest. I like some of the hot sounds,” Paul McCartney told Guitar Player magazine. Eddie Van Halen passed away in 2020 at the age of 65 after years battling cancer. They became friends, and Hendrix even paid tribute to The Beatles when they were in the audience, creating a live version of the title track "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band," which had been released only a couple of days before the show. “Jimi Hendrix, it’s gotta be Jimi (The best guitarist of all time). Oh man, great guy. I knew him a little bit because he kind of got discovered over here (In the UK) really. Even though he’d been working a long time in America.” “I think I was possibly at one of his first gigs down a place called The Bag of Nails. (Which) is a club I used to go to. Actually it’s where I met Linda (McCartney). He just sort of shambled on stage one night. We never really used to bother with the live acts. We used to be more interested in the records.” Paul McCartney continued: “The live acts weren’t always that good but he had these very big amps. We were wondering what he was going to do with them. So suddenly this (big noise starts) and we just (were amazed). There were not many people there that night. But a couple of nights later he played again and everyone was there.
