Barbara Baker takes her job as a bus driver in Florida very seriously. She cares for her passengers and keeps her eyes on the road to avoid any trouble. She works for the Hillsborough Regional Transit Authority in Tampa and recently went above and beyond the call of duty when she saw a child in need. HART shared heart-stopping surveillance video from Barbara’s bus. She saw a child in the road and just knew she couldn’t leave him behind. She told the passengers to sit tight so she could help. According to Newsweek, the veteran driver shared the story with HART after the incident. “When I’m driving, I always look way ahead. I looked and I said, ‘Is that a baby?’ And I looked again, I see no shoes, I see pajamas. I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s a baby.’ My heart just dropped.“ Barbara Baker Held The Child On Her Bus Until Police Arrived Barbara Baker said the child couldn’t articulate where he lived, so she called the police to intervene. “When the police came, it’s like I almost wanted to cry because I thought about my grandbabies,” Barbara said. HART praised Barbara for her quick thinking and compassion. “HART OPERATOR REUNITES LOST CHILD IN STREET WITH FAMILY.
