A shooter was shot and killed by a security guard after opening fire at a church in Wayne, Michigan, while worshipers were gathered for a service on Sunday. The assailant was stopped before he could make it inside CrossPointe Community Church when one of the church’s deacons hit him with his Ford F-150, giving the security guard time to shoot the attacker, according to Senior Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr., The Detroit News reported. The security guard was also wounded in the shooting after taking a bullet to the leg, but no one else was injured. There were around 150 people in attendance when the shooter targeted the church, which is located around 25 miles west of Detroit. A livestream video of the service showed the Christian worshipers, many of whom were children, ducking for cover after a security guard told them to evacuate as shots were fired outside the building. CrossPointe was holding a special vacation Bible school service, a summer program many churches put on for young children. While the shooter was stopped from making it inside the church, he fired multiple shots into the building. Kelly said that the man did not appear to be a member of the church. Local, state, and federal authorities are on the ground investigating the shooting. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino wrote on X, “Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support.” Kelly said that the church started a security team around 10 years ago in response to threats to churches across the country, according to The Detroit News. The pastor added that before Sunday, CrossPointe had not received any threats of violence. “We are sitting ducks to someone who wants to come and do harm,” he said.

President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that the “Make America Great Again” movement should cut any ties with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) on Sunday after the congressman decried this weekend’s U.S. military strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran and revealed that he will hit the campaign trail next year to support a primary challenger. The comments mark an escalation in the intra-party war of words after Trump called Massie a “grandstander” earlier this year for opposing the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” making its way through Congress and urged voters to kick the Kentucky Republican out from his House seat. “Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky is not MAGA, even though he likes to say he is. Actually, MAGA doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t respect him. He is a negative force who almost always Votes ‘NO,’ no matter how good something may be,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “He’s a simple minded ‘grandstander’ who thinks it’s good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon, while at the same time yelling ‘DEATH TO AMERICA’ at every chance they get.” Massie claims the attack on Iran was “unconstitutional” because Congress did not authorize military force ahead of time. Prior to the strikes, the Kentucky Republican put forward a war powers resolution in the House that elicited the support of many Democrats, including leftist “Squad” members. “When two countries are bombing each other daily in a hot war, and a third country joins the bombing, that’s an act of war,” Massie said on X, alluding to the conflict between Israel and Iran. “I’m amazed at the mental gymnastics being undertaken by neocons in DC (and their social media bots) to say we aren’t at war… so they can make war.” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) defended Trump’s decision to launch an operation to destroy three facilities in Iran this weekend in a bid to stop that country from being able to create nuclear weapons. “The President made the right call, and did what he needed to do. Leaders in Congress were aware of the urgency of this situation and the Commander-in-Chief evaluated that the imminent danger outweighed the time it would take for Congress to act,” Johnson said on X. “The world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, which chants ‘Death to America,’ simply could not be allowed the opportunity to obtain and use nuclear weapons. The President fully respects the Article I power of Congress, and tonight’s necessary, limited, and targeted strike follows the history and tradition of similar military actions under presidents of both parties.” Massie shot back, asking why Johnson did not call Congress back from “vacation” to vote on military action “if there was a serious threat” to the United States. “I introduced a War Powers Resolution on Tuesday, while Congress was on vacation. We would have had plenty of time to debate and vote on this,” he added. In his post on Truth Social, Trump compared Massie to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), another Republican lawmaker who has shown a willingness to break with the “MAGA” line. “Massie is weak, ineffective, and votes ‘NO’ on virtually everything put before him (Rand Paul, Jr.), no matter how good something may be,” Trump said. “He is disrespectful to our great military, and all that they stand for, not even acknowledging their brilliance and bravery in yesterday’s attack, which was a total and complete WIN. Massie should drop his fake act and start putting America First, but he doesn’t know how to get there — he doesn’t have a clue!” After noting how Massie will “undoubtedly” again vote against the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which will likely need to be approved by the House a second time with the changes being implemented by the Senate, Trump pledged to help defeat the congressman in next year’s midterm elections. “MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague!” Trump said. “The good news is that we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard. MAGA is not about lazy, grandstanding, nonproductive politicians, of which Thomas Massie is definitely one. Thank you to our incredible military for the AMAZING job they did last night. It was really SPECIAL!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.” Axios reported later on Sunday that Trump’s team was launching a super PAC focused on getting Massie defeated in the May 2026 primary. The news outlet said the group is called Kentucky MAGA and led by the President’s senior political advisers Tony Fabrizio and Chris LaCivita. In a post on X, Massie acknowledged Trump’s pledge to back a primary challenger and asked people to support his re-election campaign.

At least 20 Christians were killed and 52 others were wounded on Sunday when a radical Islamic terrorist opened fire in an Orthodox church in Damascus, Syria, and then detonated an explosive vest, according to Syria’s interior ministry. The terrorist, affiliated with ISIS, targeted Mar Elias Church in Dweila, on the outskirts of Damascus, the BBC reported. A person who witnessed the attack told AFP news agency that “someone entered carrying a weapon” and began firing at worshipers. A group of church members charged the attacker and “tried to stop him before he blew himself up,” the witness added. Graphic footage of the aftermath of the bombing captured by the Syrian Civil Defence showed bloody bodies on the ground and rows of pews blown to pieces. Some local media reports said that children were among those killed in the terrorist attack, according to CBS News. Issam Nasr, a man who was at the church during the attack, said that he saw people “blown to bits.” “We have never held a knife in our lives. All we ever carried were our prayers,” Nasr said. The bombing marks the first successful jihadist attack on a Christian church in Syria since Bashar al-Assad and his government were toppled by Islamic extremists in December, according to Reuters. The Islamic State was behind multiple other recent attacks on Christian churches in the country, but none were successful. Interim Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who is part of a Sunni Islamist group that has ties to al-Qaeda, has repeatedly vowed to protect religious minorities in the country, but violence against Christians continues. There are over 500,000 Christians in Syria, and they are regularly the victims of government oppression and Islamic extremism, according to Open Doors, which ranks the country at 18th on the list of countries where Christians face the most persecution.

Why would you bury- why would you bury things in a mountain 300 feet under the ground? Why would you bury 6- why do they have 60% enriched uranium? You don’t need 60% enriched uranium. The only countries in the world that have uranium at 60% are countries that have nuclear weapons. Because they can quickly make it 90. They have all the elements. They have all the- why do they- why do they have a space program? Is Iran going to go to the moon? No. They’re trying to build an ICBM so they can one day put a warhead on it…  BRENNAN: No, but that's a question- that's a question- that’s a question of intent. And you know in the intelligence assessment, it was that Iran wanted to be at threshold so they could use this leverage- RUBIO: How do you know what the intelligence assessment says? How do you know what the intelligence assessment says? BRENNAN: I'm talking about the public March assessment. And that's why I was asking you, if you know something more from March if an order was given-- RUBIO: Well, but that's also an inaccurate representation of it- that's an inaccurate representation of it. That's not how intelligence is read. That's now how intelligence is used. Here's what the whole world knows. Forget about intelligence. What the IAEA knows they are enriching uranium well beyond anything you need for a- for a- for a civil nuclear program. So why would you enrich uranium at 60%, if you don't intend to one day use it to take it to 90 and build a weapon? Why are you- why are you developing ICBMs? Why do you have 8000 short range missiles and two to 3000 long- mid range missiles that you continue to develop? Why do you do all these things-- BRENNAN: Understood. RUBIO: They have everything they need for a nuclear weapon. They have the delivery mechanisms, they have the enrichment capability, they have the highly enriched uranium that is stored. BRENNAN: Yeah. RUBIO: That's all we need to see. BRENNAN: Right. Well, and that's-- RUBIO: Especially in the hands of the regime that's already involved in terrorism and proxies and all kinds of things are on- they are the source of all the instability in the Middle East-- BRENNAN: And no one's disputing- no one's disputing that. I'm not doing that here. And they were censured at the IAEA for that enrichment and for violating their non-proliferation agreements. I was simply asking if we had intelligence that there was an order to weaponize because you said 'weaponization ambitions,' which implies they weren't doing it-- RUBIO: Well, we have intelligence that they have everything they need to build a nuclear weapon, and that's more than enough. If you listen closely enough at the 1:05 mark, you’ll hear Brennan sighing audibly when Rubio tells her that it doesn't matter whether the mullahs gave a specific order to weaponize their nuclear program because of the other things they’d already done. To wit: achieve 60% enrichment, the embedding of nuclear facilities under a mountain, and the pursuit of ballistic missiles under the guise of a space program. Having learned nothing from the Vance debacle and subsequent “faces of Brennan” memes, Brennan still chooses to sneer at Republican interview subjects who swat away her attempts at imposing a narrative line. Although somewhat more muted as of late, the contempt will eventually bubble to the surface. This first volley set the tone for the rest of the interview, and followed familiar lines: questions of whether the strike was the launch of a protracted regime change forever war, attempts to sow discord among the president’s national security team, and handwringing over the fact that the strike was done with executive authority and kept very tightly. Of course, all of these are the exact opposite of the approach the media took during such instances as the killing of an American citizen via drone strike and the NATO regime change mission in Lybia, just to name a few. Of course, things were (D)ifferent back then. It has often been said that the American military relitigates the last war. The same can be said about the legacy media. Faced with what appears to be a successful strike against the sought-for capabilities of an enemy that wishes “Death to America” and who is responsible for the deaths of scores of Americans, the media choose instead to relitigate the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
