Is AI Changing the World?

by Martin Armstrong, Armstrong Economics: QUESTION: Hi Martin, Considering the potential influence of AI, also taking into account the behaviour of the 80 percent that went with the COVID narrative, I was wondering. The AI is being fed by human interaction on the internet, probably somewhere else as well, but very much directed. Now that does […]

President Donald Trump as Founding Father of the Newer World Order

by Ron Unz, The Unz Review: Thirty-five years ago this Thursday, President George H.W. Bush gave an important speech entitled “Toward a New World Order.” Wikipedia has excerpted a few of its central elements: Until now, the world we’ve known has been a world divided—a world of barbed wire and concrete block, conflict, and the cold war. Now, we […]

“Possible Hazardous Materials Incident” Prompts Evacuation At Major Airport, Nearly Two Dozen Reportedly Injured

A “possible hazardous materials incident” led to the evacuation of Terminal 4 at London’s Heathrow Airport. Heathrow is among the world’s busiest airports. According to reports, dozens of flights were delayed because of the chaotic situation. Around 20 people “reported an injury” and were assessed by paramedics, the BBC noted. There are no reports of life-threatening injuries. “An airport spokesperson said the check-in area was closed ‘while emergency services respond to an incident’ and advised passengers not to travel to the terminal in west London. All other terminals at the UK’s busiest airport are operating as normal,” Breaking Aviation News & Videos wrote. “Firefighters are responding to a possible hazardous materials incident at Heathrow Airport,” a London Fire Brigade spokesperson stated. “Specialist crews have been deployed to carry out an assessment of the scene, and part of the airport has been evacuated as a precaution whilst firefighters respond,” the statement continued. National Rail then said trains were unable to call at Heathrow Terminal 4, in a post on X. There was little sign of disruption to flights out of the airport, with no delays or cancellations reported at Terminal 4. At just after 20:00, a spokesperson for Heathrow Airport said Terminal 4 was reopening, after confirming it was safe to do so. A short while later, the Fire Brigade announced they were “standing down” their response. The Metropolitan Police said in a statement that they found “no trace of any adverse substance”, adding that “around twenty people reported an injury, none were deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing”. Since then, BBC News understands that the events at Heathrow Airport are a “mass hysteria” type event. “Emergency services have confirmed Terminal 4 is safe to reopen and we are doing everything we can to ensure all flights depart as planned today. We are very sorry for the disruption caused, the safety and security of our passengers and colleagues is our number one priority,” Heathrow Airport later stated. “We encourage passengers to check with their airline for the latest information about their flight this evening and our colleagues will be on hand into the night to assist,” it added. Reuters noted: The British airport’s Terminal 4 – serving both European and long-haul routes – was shut temporarily on Monday evening as specialist crews from the brigade were deployed to carry out an assessment. Paramedics treated 21 patients and one was taken to a hospital, the capital’s ambulance service said on social media. The nature of the incident has not been disclosed. Specialist officers from London’s Metropolitan Police also attended the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area, the police force said via email, adding that no trace of any “adverse substance” was found. Unverified video clips shared online showed dozens of passengers waiting outside the terminal. The departures section on Heathrow’s website showed flights continuing to take off. Commercial Jet’s Rough Landing Shuts Down Airport

A rough landing by a commercial aircraft in Sint Maarten forced the airport to shut down, stranding passengers on the Caribbean island. A WestJet plane from Toronto with 164 people on board made a hard landing and prompted an emergency response at the Princess Juliana International Airport. “Flight operator WestJet said that there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident,” ABC News noted. Flight operator WestJet said that there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident. pic.twitter.com/ArpduQS8nh — ABC News (@ABC) September 8, 2025 More from the Calgary Herald: Of the 164 people on board, three were taken for medical evaluation “out of an abundance of caution,” the airport said in a statement. The runway remained closed following the incident as the airport worked with the local fire department and Civil Aviation Authority to safely remove the aircraft. The runway closure resulted in multiple delays and cancellations, leaving passengers — including at least one Albertan — with no way to get home. “First and foremost, we are grateful that the passengers and crew of WestJet flight WS2276 are safe,” St. Maarten Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina said in a statement after the hard landing. “The safety and security of travellers, our aviation personnel and the general public remain our highest priority.” “WestJet Boeing 737-800 right landing gear collapses while landing at Sint Maarten Princess Juliana International Airport,” Breaking Aviation News & Videos wrote. Sint Maarten, which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is located on the southern third of the island of Saint Martin, in the northeastern Caribbean Sea and is a popular tropical destination. The northern two-thirds of the island is considered a semi-autonomous part of France. “The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it’s launching an investigation into a WestJet plane’s ‘hard landing’ at an airport in the Caribbean County of St. Maarten on Sunday afternoon.” CBC News wrote.
