TERM LIMITS: Democrat Congresswoman in “Early Stages of Dementia,” Per Police Report

Here’s even more evidence that we need term limits in Congress – stat! Democrat D.C. Congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, who is 88 years old, was recently scammed out of thousands of dollars by criminals pretending to be a cleaning crew. According to the police report from that incident, police believe she is suffering from “the early stages of dementia.” And, before you ask — yes, she’s running for re-election in 2026! Here are the details: BREAKING: 88-year-old Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, who police say is suffering from dementia, was reportedly scammed out of $4,400 at home by a group claiming to be a cleaning crew. Norton is reportedly running for reelection. pic.twitter.com/Bj92bDYqwq — Leading Report (@LeadingReport) October 24, 2025 88-year-old congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton is suffering from dementia, says police report filed after she was allegedly scammed out of $4,400 pic.twitter.com/3ltyiew9v7 — Ken Klippenstein (NSPM-7 Compliant) (@kenklippenstein) October 24, 2025 In total, Del. Norton was allegedly scammed out of more than $4,000 — which is more than she raised for her entire re-election campaign: $4,400 is more than Norton’s reelection campaign raised in the entire 3rd quarter of 2025, per Politico.https://t.co/E2WklRbkAt pic.twitter.com/1NIXPW8JLm — Decensored News (@decensorednews) October 24, 2025 the suspects stole more than Eleanor Holmes Norton raised in Q3 https://t.co/eX6iYc0cB9 pic.twitter.com/64Z0JHgE7u — Oriana González (@OrianaBeLike) October 24, 2025 The apparent scam was reported by Del. Norton’s home manager, whom police say is her caretaker, and was not present when the group of criminals pretending to be cleaners entered her home. NBC Washington has more details: Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, the longtime nonvoting representative for D.C. in the U.S. House, was scammed in her home by people who said they were part of a cleaning crew, her office told News4. The suspects charged almost $4,400 to her credit card for work they did not perform, police said. An internal police report obtained by News4 details how suspects were able to enter Norton’s home on Thursday and access her credit card before someone, whom her office called a house manager and friend, was able to put a stop to it. A D.C. police report described Norton, 88, as having the “early stages of dementia,” and said Norton has a caretaker with power of attorney. Norton’s office pushed back against that claim. Multiple people claiming to be HVAC workers arrived at Norton’s home on 9th Street SE just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday, the field commissioner’s report says. Norton let the workers into the home to perform HVAC services. But, despite no service taking place, the workers charged $4,362 for duct and fireplace cleaning, the report says. At the time the group arrived, the report says, the “caretaker/power of attorney was not at residence.” That report does not name the caretaker or power of attorney but says that individual called police. The “home manager’s” name is Jacqueline Pelt, who insists she is just a friend of Norton and not her caretaker. Per Politico: The incident was reported by Jacqueline Pelt, a longtime aide and Norton ally, who is listed in the report as living at Norton’s home. Pelt “did not authorize any work to be performed” at Norton’s house, the report said, and cancelled Norton’s credit cards after discovering they’d been charged. Norton’s office released a statement that attempted to quell the rumors that she relies on a caretaker. From Fox News: Her office told the news station, “The congresswoman employs a house manager who oversees all maintenance services, so she initially assumed her staff had arranged the visit and provided her credit card for payment. “Upon notifying her house manager, who reviewed Ring doorbell footage and confirmed that no such appointment had been scheduled, the incident was immediately reported to the police.” Maybe it’s time to retire? The only silver lining in all of this is that this woman represents D.C. in a purely ceremonial, non-voting role. But, the same can’t be said for a few other members of Congress who are growing increasingly decrepit and senile…(I’m sure a few names will pop into your head.) It’s time we stop treating Congress as a nursing home! Meet the congressional rest home Votes for rent — americashawk dittohead (@americashawk) October 25, 2025 What do you think? Do we need term limits in Congress?

REPORT: Luigi Mangione Beaten Up By 7 “Ladyboys” In Thailand

Remember Luigi Mangione? The guy who (allegedly) shot the United Healthcare CEO in broad daylight in New York City execution style? Well, in a strange new twist to his story, a new report now claims that he was beaten up by a group of 7 “ladybois” in Thailand just months before traveling to the USA and (allegedly) shooting the United Healthcare CEO. Now I’m not fully up to speed on what constitutes a “Thailand Ladyboi” but I think it would be some form of effeminate males who want to be females and act like females? Now image 7 of those things coming at you. YIKES. Luigi Mangione got beaten up by 7 ‘ladyboys’ in Thailand months before UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting: report https://t.co/AemiCd0kRP pic.twitter.com/FCtqM90xqK — New York Post (@nypost) October 22, 2025 I have to agree with CynomelMuncher on X…pretty sure I could fend of 3-4 ladybois but 7 is a lot! I bet they scratch and fight dirty too! I think I could handle 3-4 ladyboys but 7 is a lot. There’s no shame in losing that fight https://t.co/kyikIeiyhv — cynomel muncher (@cynomel) October 22, 2025 It reminds me of that “Would You Rather” that asks:  “Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?” Would you rather fight 7 ladybois or 1 real boy? Hmmmm. Anyway, I digress! Back to our story…. The NY Post had more details on the very bizarre new claims: Luigi Mangione was roughed up by a group of transgender women during a wild night out in Thailand in the months before he allegedly gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, a new report claims. The 27-year-old accused assassin allegedly bragged to friends over WhatsApp about his raucous nightlife backpacking through Asia before he returned to the US in July 2024 and allegedly shot Thompson that December, the New York Times reported Tuesday. In one eyebrow-raising message, Mangione claimed he had been beaten up by seven “ladyboys” — a colloquial term for transgender women — in Bangkok and shared a photo of his battered and scratched arm, according to texts reviewed by the outlet. The Ivy League-educated tech whiz set off on a solo trip abroad in early 2024, befriending soccer player Christian Sacchini and an unidentified companion along the way. Sacchini, who met Mangione at a Bangkok pub in March, told the publication the accused killer initially talked about video games and Pokemon before veering into a rant about how “effed up” the US health care system is compared to Thailand. “He couldn’t believe it,” Sacchini said of Mangione’s shock at the low cost of an MRI in the Southeast Asian nation. The alleged killer, who hails from a wealthy Maryland family, eventually escaped to the lush Mount Omine mountains in Japan, seeking a slower pace and hoping to “meditate” and “do some writing” by a serene hot spring. Fellow travelers, locals, and Mangione’s own notes suggest he went from craving human connection at the start of his trip to isolating himself, while obsessing over how to make a dramatic statement about injustice over insurance coverage, the Times reported. “He didn’t use any digital devices,” said Juntaro Mihara, owner of a small guesthouse in Tenkawa, where the University of Pennsylvania grad stayed for six days. RELATED REPORT: Luigi Mangione Manifesto Suggests There Were MORE Planned Killings Luigi Mangione’s Top Terrorism Charges DROPPED By New York Judge The accused killer of the UnitedHealth CEO, Luigi Mangione, just had some of his top charges dropped. A New York judge dropped the top terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione the accused killer of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson. Judge Gregory Carro ruled that Mangione's actions did not reflect terrorism under New York state law. The New York Post reported more details on the New York judge's decision to throw out the terrorism charges: A judge has thrown out the top counts in Luigi Mangione’s state murder case — rejecting claims that the accused killer can be charged as a terrorist — in a huge blow to prosecutors. In a ruling released Tuesday, Judge Gregory Carro tossed charges of murder in the first degree as an act of terrorism and murder in the second degree as a crime of terrorism against the 27-year-old Ivy League grad. The judge did keep alive Mangione’s other second-degree murder charge for allegedly executing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood outside the health care company’s investor conference on Dec. 4, 2024. “The People presented sufficient evidence that the defendant murdered Brian Thompson in a premeditated and calculated execution. That does not mean, however, that the defendant did so with terroristic intent,” Carro wrote in his decision. The ruling means that Mangione still faces 25 years to life in the state case, but not the 25 years to life without the possibility of parole that he had been facing. It was Mangione's first court appearance in the state case since February, and he wore beige prison clothes, handcuffs and shackles. The 27-year-old Ivy League graduate has attracted a cult following as a stand-in for frustrations with the health insurance industry. Dozens of his supporters showed up to his last hearing, many wearing the Luigi video game character's green color as a symbol of solidarity. His April arraignment in the federal case and Tuesday's hearing in state court drew a similar outpouring. On Tuesday, one fan in the courtroom wore a shirt saying "FREE LUIGI." Outside, some supporters who gathered across the street from the courthouse cheered and clapped as news of the dropped terrorism charges spread. Mangione earlier pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of murder, including murder as an act of terrorism, in the Dec. 4, 2024, killing. Surveillance video showed a masked gunman shooting Thompson from behind as he arrived for an investor conference at the New York Hilton Midtown. Police say "delay," "deny" and "depose" were scrawled on the ammunition, mimicking a phrase commonly used to describe how insurers avoid paying claims.

Stephen Miller Lists Potential Criminal Charges Against JB Pritzker

JB Pritzker threatened ICE agents with arrest. President Trump’s aide Stephen Miller responded, suggesting Illinois Governor JB Pritzker could be arrested for targeting ICE agents. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on October 12th suggested that state prosecutors might examine the conduct of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. “The tables will turn one day,” Prtizker […] The post Stephen Miller Lists Potential Criminal Charges Against JB Pritzker appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Good Samaritans Stripped Down to Briefs to Rescue 3 Stranded Whales on Canadian Beach (WATCH)

Time was running out when Mark Rankin and Grant Cameron arrived on a Nova Scotia Beach earlier this week. After apparently swimming too close to shore, three pilot whales were found stranded at 9 a.m., with low tide quickly approaching. If the two friends didn’t intervene soon, the whales might never have a chance. 4 Shutdown Quotes You Have to Hear

Congress didn’t get much done this week. But that doesn’t mean it was dull on Capitol Hill during what is now the second-longest federal government shutdown ever. The following are the top four moments of the week on the Hill: 1. Fetterman’s ‘Groundhog Day’ Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who has defied his party’s strategy by continuing to support efforts to reopen the government, aptly compared the shutdown to “Groundhog Day,” a 1993 comedy film set in his home state.  John Fetterman on the continued Democrat shutdown: “It’s Groundhog Day and it’s not entertaining. That’s a great movie, but this is s*****. It’s embarrassing.” pic.twitter.com/NL4RMt8fd9— TheBlaze (@theblaze) October 21, 2025 “It’s Groundhog Day and it’s not entertaining,” Fetterman said of his fellow Senate Democrats’ continued refusal to vote to reopen the government. “That’s a great movie, but this is s—–. It’s embarrassing.” In the film, a man finds himself cursed to repeat the same day over and over again in the sleepy town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. “We all lose, and it’s embarrassing,” Fetterman said of the shutdown. 2. Jeffries’ Final Refusal Just hours before endorsing Democrat nominee Zohran Mamdani to become New York City’s next mayor, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., declined Friday to state his position on the race for one final time. “I have not refused to endorse,” he told reporters after months of not revealing who he would support. “I have refused to articulate my position, and I will, momentarily, at some point, in advance of early voting.” Early voting was scheduled to begin the very next day. Question on New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani: "Why are you refusing to endorse?"@RepJeffries: "I have not refused to endorse. I have refused to articulate my position and I will momentarily at some point in advance of early voting." pic.twitter.com/OrQWb5rzfh— CSPAN (@cspan) October 24, 2025 The lack of an endorsement from Jeffries or from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., appeared to suggest many national Democrat leaders have been hesitant to support Mamdani, an avowed socialist. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., has accused New York Democrats of “spineless politics” for not backing Mamdani. Mamdani has defended Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil and has called for city-run grocery stores and a freeze on rents as ways to address the city’s affordability problems. Later that day, Jeffries’ endorsement was released, saying, “Zohran Mamdani has relentlessly focused on addressing the affordability crisis and explicitly committed to being a mayor for all New Yorkers, including those who do not support his candidacy,” in a statement provided to The New York Times. 3. Clark’s ‘Leverage’ Admission House Democrat Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass., gave Republicans a gift in an interview with Fox News when she admitted that the shutdown provides “leverage” for Democrats’ demands. FAMILIES PAY THE PRICE: House Democrat Katherine Clark admits families will “suffer” under a shutdown, but calls it “one of the few leverage times we have.” pic.twitter.com/raeFdn0GOP— Fox News (@FoxNews) October 22, 2025 “I mean, shutdowns are terrible, and of course there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer,” Clark told Fox News. “We take that responsibility very seriously, but it is one of the few leverage times we have.” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., was quick to pounce, playing the video on a loop outside his office and saying at a news conference that Democrats “don’t seem to care” about Americans’ suffering. ‘Take Heart America. All Your Suffering Is For A Great Cause: The Democrat’s Political Leverage,’ Says Speaker Mike Johnson“Katherine Clark is the House Democrat Whip. She works right under Hakeem Jeffries, as the No. 1 Democrat, and she was in an interview and she said to one… pic.twitter.com/AnN0BWptr8— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) October 23, 2025 4. Merkley’s Filibuster on a Shoestring Though it received less publicity than the record-breaking filibuster of Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., held a more than 22-hour filibuster on the Senate floor to make Republicans hear his demands. He does not recommend the experience. “I want to untie my shoelace because standing in one place for this much time, well, it made my shoes a little tight,” he said as he reached down. “That feels a little better. In general, I don’t recommend standing through the night and talking. Not a healthy pursuit, but I’m standing here to ring the alarm bells.” ?Oregon Democrat Sen. Jeff Merkley during overnight 'filibuster' speech: 'I want to untie my shoelace because standing in one place for this much time made my shoes a little tight…I don't recommend standing through the night and talking.' pic.twitter.com/BAOahOJChJ— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) October 22, 2025 The post 4 Shutdown Quotes You Have to Hear appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Study shows massive decline in peanut allergies after previous experts proven wrong

Health experts suggested in years past that mothers with familial predispositions to developing allergies should avoid peanut consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding and that parents should avoid giving their children peanut products and other common allergens before the age of 3. According to a National Institutes of Health-backed study published on Monday in the American Academy of Pediatrics' medical journal, Pediatrics, the strategy of avoidance appears to have been the wrong approach.BackgroundAfter observing the prevalence of peanut allergy among children in Western countries double over the course of a decade, an international team of researchers evaluated studies of peanut consumption and avoidance to figure out which was the better approach.'There are less kids with food allergy today than there would have been if we hadn’t implemented this public health effort.'The researchers, whose work was partly funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, conducted a randomized trial of peanut consumption in infants at risk for peanut allergy and found that "early introduction of peanuts significantly decreased the frequency of the development of peanut allergy among children at high risk for this allergy and modulated immune responses to peanuts."Following the 2015 publication of the trial results in the New England Journal of Medicine, numerous health organizations issued consensus-based interim guidance recommending early allergen introduction. Years later, the NIAID, leaning on the trial data in the 2015 study, released guidelines recommending early introduction for all infants facing low risk of developing a peanut allergy and for high-risk infants where appropriate.RELATED: The hidden hospital scam driving up drug prices, coming to a state near you Photo by Amy Brothers/ The Denver PostExposure therapyThe new study in Pediatrics indicates that the exposure strategy was worthwhile and has resulted in a 27.2% reduction in the cumulative incidence of peanut allergy among children in the post-guidelines cohort versus the pre-guidelines cohort, and a reduction of over 40% when comparing the pre-guidelines cohort with the cohort situated after the 2017 release of the updated NIAID guidelines. After analyzing health records from nearly 50 pediatric practices altogether tracking over 120,000 kids, the researchers behind the new study found that overall food allergy rates in kids under 3 dropped from 1.46% between 2012 and 2015 to 0.93% between 2017 and 2020.The researchers noted further that a Canadian study found that the implementation of early peanut introduction guidelines "was associated with a significant decrease in new-onset anaphylaxis in children aged 2 years or younger.""I can actually come to you today and say there are less kids with food allergy today than there would have been if we hadn’t implemented this public health effort," Dr. David Hill, an allergist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and author of the study, told the Associated Press. While about 60,000 kids have reportedly dodged food allergies since 2015, including 40,000 children who would have otherwise developed peanut allergies, 8% of children remain affected by food allergies. One reason the number remains high may be that only a minority of pediatricians — roughly 29% — indicated they followed the expanded guidance released in 2017.Like Blaze News?
