Iran has launched more than 400 ballistic missiles indiscriminately at Israel in the last week, targeting civilian populations — and late this week it stepped its attacks up by using a cluster bomb in an attack on a hospital, according to the Israeli military.. Cluster bombs are widely condemned due to the fact that they’re impossible to target. “Cluster munitions have warheads that burst and scatter numerous bomblets, and are known for causing indiscriminate harm to civilians,” The New York Times has noted. The evidence that Iran used cluster bombs is overwhelming. “Iran likely targeted Beersheba with a cluster bomb in its latest attack on Israel, footage shows,” Times of Israel military correspondent Emanuel fabian reported on X. “Videos and photos from the southern city show several impacts of small munitions at multiple locations in the city, indicating that a ballistic missile carrying a cluster bomb warhead was used in the attack. An ex-Army Sergeant faces up to ten years in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempting to give American military secrets to China.  Joseph Daniel Schmidt, 31, last stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, pled guilty on Wednesday to charges of attempting to deliver national defense information and retention of national defense information. He will be sentenced in September by U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour. In addition to prison, Schmidt could be hit with a $250,000 fine.  Schmidt was an active duty soldier from January 2015 to January 2020 and mainly worked with the 109th Military Intelligence Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. During his military service, he had access to information designated as secret and top secret, according to the Justice Department.  After leaving the military in January 2020, Schmidt emailed the Chinese Consulate in Turkey and the Chinese security service, offering to provide them with national defense information.  In March 2020, Schmidt flew to Hong Kong, where he attempted to give Chinese security officials intelligence he had kept from his time in the military. According to the Justice Department, he produced multiple documents detailing the “high level secrets” he had in his possession and offered to give a device that allows access to secure military computers to the Chinese.  He flew back to the United States in October 2023 when he was arrested in San Francisco.  “Joseph Daniel Schmidt was once a trusted guardian of our nation’s secrets and swore an oath to defend and protect U.S. national security,” Assistant Director Suzanne Turner of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division said in October 2023 when Schmidt was indicted. “As alleged by the government, Schmidt betrayed his promise and potentially placed our nation at risk in his attempts to pass national defense information to Chinese security services.” In recent years, the FBI has made a number of arrests involving former American soldiers accused of attempting to give sensitive military information to China.  Earlier this year, former Army intelligence officer Korbein Schultz was sentenced to seven years in prison for selling critical military documents to an individual believed to be tied to the Chinese government. Schultz was paid $42,000 for information on American military exercises and technical equipment manuals. Just last month, the Justice Department announced that Jian Zhao and Li Tian, both active duty Army soldiers also stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and former soldier Ruoyu Duan had been charged with stealing U.S. military secrets. They were accused of taking top-secret hard drives, information on weapon systems, and documents on missile defenses to sell to individuals based in China.

Hours after calling for mass amnesty for illegal aliens, a House Democrat accused federal agents of “human trafficking.” Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) went on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Thursday and claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are “terrorizing” and “kidnapping” illegal aliens. “We have ICE federal agents pulling up, terrorizing our communities, hopping out of unmarked vans, stealing, and yes, kidnapping people, not giving them their day in court, and yes, human trafficking them to other nations, other countries around the entire world,” Frost said. “I like to be very clear about what’s going on right now so people understand that what is going on is, I believe, outside the bounds of the law.” Frost alleged that ICE was taking away the right to due process. “Due process is something that applies to every person in this country, regardless of your status,” Frost said. “This is from the party that likes to talk about American exceptionalism, but they want to rip away the few things that make our country actually exceptional.” Earlier on Thursday, Frost held a press conference to introduce a bill that seeks the public disclosure of data from facilities operated by or affiliated with ICE, The Daily Wire reported. “We are a community filled [with] people,” Frost said. “And yes, people are going to have different statuses, and to my Republican colleagues who say, ‘I don’t want any undocumented people in this country,’ I actually agree with you. So, let’s document every single one of them with a speedy path to citizenship.” Republicans quickly slammed Frost for his remarks. “You can’t make this stuff up!” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on social media. “At a Democrat rally today, Rep. Maxwell Frost proposed BLANKET AMNESTY for EVERY SINGLE ONE of the MILLIONS of ILLEGAL aliens Joe Biden let into the country. Republicans will never let this dangerous idea happen. We must defend common sense and the rule of law.” White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Adviser Stephen Miller warned: “If the Democrats were to obtain full political control of Washington they would swiftly complete the project of relocating the destitute and developing nations of the world in your communities and then giving them the full rights and privileges of US citizenship.”  

The rapper known as Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, has been accused of multiple crimes, including the sexual assault of minors by his former hype man, Terrance “T.A.” Dixon. Dixon filed a $20 million lawsuit in federal court on Thursday. Cartagena’s former employee made allegations of “coercive labor exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation, and psychological coercion,” per Variety. The lawsuit comes after Cartagena sued Dixon for slander in April after he claimed his former employee posted on social media about the rapper transporting a minor across state lines for sex. The outlet noted that the claims made in the 157-page document were so extensive that the filing included a trigger warning. Dixon worked for Cartagena for 16 years as a hype man, commonly used by rap and hip hop artists to get the crowd revved up and help set the tone for performances. Dixon also reportedly contributed to some of Cartagena’s songs by assisting with lyrics and backing vocals. The lawsuit asserts that Dixon was forced “into humiliating situations, including sex acts performed under duress and surveillance, accompanied by threats of abandonment in foreign countries if [he] refused compliance.” The plaintiff added that he was “coerced into more than 4,000 sexual acts to maintain his standing within the Enterprise.” Dixon also accused his former employee of engaging in sexual acts with minors on multiple occasions. Per the lawsuit, Dixon said he “personally witnessed [Fat Joe] engage in sexual relations with children who were fifteen and sixteen years old.” The lawsuit listed three specific minors identified as Jane Does. He said Jane Doe 1 was a 16-year-old New York resident who interacted with the rapper “in exchange for cash, clothing, and payment of her cell phone bill.” The lawsuit said she “would [perform] oral sex and other sexual acts” on Cartagena.  “[Fat Joe] began having sexual relations with Minor Doe 2 when she was 15 years old after a concert overseas. Defendant flew Minor Doe 2 to New York City and Miami, Florida, on multiple occasions. Due to Minor Doe 2’s body being adolescent and not fully formed, Defendant paid for her to get a Brazilian Butt Lift. Minor Doe 2 eventually left Defendant and is now married to a professional athlete,” the complaint says.  Minor Doe 3 is described as having met Cartagena when “she was 15 years old, turning 16.” Per the complaint, “Defendant was in love with Minor Doe 3. He even contemplated leaving his wife. The Defendant paid all Minor Doe 3’s bills and even took her overseas to his tour stops. He brought her to Florida and would put her up in a condo he rented a few blocks from his house with his wife.”  “In a recorded conversation, Minor Doe 3 and her 15-year-old cousin describe in detail to Plaintiff how ‘inappropriate’ it was for Defendant, who was in his late 30s at the time, to be fawning over children,” the lawsuit said. The lawsuit describes, “a wide spectrum of sexual coercion, psychological control, forced exhibitionism, and surveillance-based humiliation, including being compelled to perform sex acts under observation, being filmed, or directed by [Fat Joe] in the presence of others — tactics designed to control Plaintiff’s body, erode his autonomy, and ensure silence.”  Dixon claims the recording artist “orchestrated repeated orgies involving Plaintiff, female dancers and minors. Defendant used.”  “These incidents occurred under conditions that included the presence of corporate security staff, surveillance cameras, and Defendant’s management entourage, yet no intervention occurred, supporting the inference that these acts were facilitated by — and covered up by — the broader enterprise and its affiliates,” the lawsuit says. “[Dixon] did not willingly consent to participate in these acts; instead, Plaintiff submitted solely out of fear of immediate retaliation, which Defendant repeatedly demonstrated would include financial punishment, professional sabotage, abandonment in foreign countries, or physical harm.” Cartagena has hired celebrity criminal attorney Joe Tacopina, who once served on Donald Trump’s legal team, to defend him in this case. The attorney released a statement denying any wrongdoing by his client.  “The lawsuit filed by Tyrone Blackburn and Terrance Dixon is a blatant act of retaliation — a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit we filed first, which exposed their coordinated scheme to extort Mr. Cartagena through lies, threats, and manufactured allegations.” The statement continues, “Law enforcement is aware of the extortionate demand at the heart of this scheme. The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are complete fabrications — lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure. Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated. We have taken legal action to expose this fraudulent campaign and hold everyone involved accountable.” Fat Joe is a Bronx-born rapper and music executive who rose to fame in the 1990s with hits like “Lean Back” and “What’s Luv?” He has been married to his wife, Lorena, since 1995. They have one daughter together, and Cartagena has two children from previous relationships.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Alexander Alfredo Palacios Guevara, an illegal alien, in Los Angeles, but the federal agency found that it might not have the authority to deport him back to El Salvador due to a Biden-era legal decision. Guevara was granted a deportation protection order in December 2024 as the Biden administration was nearing an end after he claimed he was at risk of being tortured if he was returned to his homeland. “A highly unusual Biden-era legal decision from December allowed this dangerous criminal to live in American communities,” an ICE spokesman told Fox News before also laying out Guevara’s criminal history. “This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault and rape or sexual abuse of a minor.” Guevara, who was given a Deferral of Removal under the Convention Against Torture (CAT), was briefly released by ICE, though the law enforcement agency recaptured him just a day later due to the risk he poses to the public. The criminal alien now sits in ICE custody as a legal battle that could decide Guevara’s fate makes its way to the Supreme Court. The Trump administration deported several violent criminal illegal aliens, including Cuban and Vietnamese nationals, to South Sudan last month. The deportation flight was arranged with the African country after the illegal aliens’ home countries were unwilling to take them back. The flight was swiftly challenged in court, with a U.S. district judge ruling that the Trump administration must maintain custody over the illegal aliens in order to “ensure the practical feasibility of return if the Court finds that such removals were unlawful.” The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to weigh in on the case. If the administration wins, Guevara could be deported to a “third country” willing to accept deportees.
