‘Europe Has To Be Very Careful’: Trump Issues Stern Warning After EU Fines Elon Musk’s X

President Donald Trump warned European countries on Monday after the European Commission fined X, Elon Musk’s social media company, $140 million. The European Commission announced penalties against X last Friday, accusing the platform of violating Europe’s far-reaching Digital Services Act, which goes after what it deems as illegal content and misinformation on social media. Trump was asked about the fine during a White House roundtable and appeared surprised when he was told about the European Union’s action. “That’s a nasty one. Elon has not called me to ask for help on that one,” Trump said, adding, “I don’t think it’s right. I don’t see how they can do that.” Trump said that he would receive a “full report” on the issue and address it further at a later time. “Look, Europe has to be very careful,” the president continued. “There doing a lot of things. … Europe is going in some bad directions. It’s very bad for the people.” Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have already blasted the European Union over the fine, with Rubio arguing that the targeting of X is “an attack on all American tech platforms and the American people by foreign governments.” The European Commission’s top complaint against X on Friday was that the social media company allows any user to “obtain the ‘verified’ status without the company meaningfully verifying who is behind the account, making it difficult for users to judge the authenticity of accounts and content they engage with.” Musk shot back at the commission’s complaint, saying that his goal with X’s verification system “was to democratize verification, rather than have it be controlled by a group of biased elites!” After the European Commission announced the fine, X’s head of product, Nikita Bier, accused the bloc of exploiting a bug in X’s platform for advertisements, which extended the reach of the commission’s video announcing its action against X. The social media company then “terminated” the commission’s ad account. “The irony of your announcement: You logged into your dormant ad account to take advantage of an exploit in our Ad Composer — to post a link that deceives users into thinking it’s a video and to artificially increase its reach,” Bier posted. “As you may be aware, X believes everyone should have an equal voice on our platform. However, it seems you believe that the rules should not apply to your account. Your ad account has been terminated.” X surged in popularity in Europe after the European Commission’s fine, with the social media platform “seeing record-breaking downloads,” according to Musk.

Ultra-Woke ‘One Battle After Another’ Leads Golden Globes With 9 Total Nominations

The Golden Globes were announced today, and the poorly performing, but critically acclaimed political action thriller, “One Battle After Another,” leads the pack with nine total nominations. Paul Thomas Anderson’s film was nominated in several major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Other projects with the most nominations include “Sinners” with seven total, “Hamnet” with six, and “Frankenstein” and “Wicked: For Good” with five each. For television categories, “The White Lotus” led the pack with six nominations, while the controversial “Adolescence” received five, and “Only Murders in the Building” and “Severance” got four each. “One Battle After Another” stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a former far-left revolutionary living off-grid in a state of stoned paranoia, but is forced to return to his old lifestyle when his daughter disappears. Bob teams up with his old crew of comrades to save his daughter and the world from a cabal of right-wing antagonists portrayed as racists. The leftists resort to violence in their mission, raising questions about whether their actions reflect genuine heroism or simply serve as a vehicle for political messaging. Many conservatives balked at the storyline, especially as instances of real-life violence against federal immigration agents continue. Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro called it “apologia for radical left-wing terrorism.”  “One Battle” has a 95% critical rating and 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, yet was considered a box office flop that struggled to recoup its production budget. The 2026 Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, January 11, at 5 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Actor Reveals He Secretly Appeared in the Original Films

News Percy Jackson and the Olympians Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Actor Reveals He Secretly Appeared in the Original Films He wore lots of prosthetics in both… By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on December 8, 2025 Credit: Disney/David Bukach Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Disney/David Bukach The second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to premiere on December 10, and an actor in the upcoming episodes also had a spot in one of the Percy Jackson films from the 2010s. That actor is Aleks Paunovic, who is playing the villainous cyclops Polyphemus in season two. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that the character isn’t the first time he’s been in the Percy Jackson franchise. “What’s so funny is the producers didn’t know,” Paunovic said about his presence in the first Percy Jackson film. “I wasn’t going to say anything until the contract was done….” Paunovic’s part in the film, he said, “was more of a stunt gig than anything.” He was a cyclops then too, running through the forest. He ended up telling executive producer Dan Shotz after the paperwork was signed. “When I told Dan afterwards, he was like, ‘What?!’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, man.’ He goes, ‘Well, that’s an Easter egg for people.’” Paunovic might be the only actor who appears in both the films and the television series. He also wore prosthetics for both, and for the Disney+ show he donned about forty pounds of it, which—along with his costume—took about five hours to get ready. One thing that wasn’t prosthetics for the show, however, was his single eye. “How I was acting in the TV show, that’s what they used for just the one eye. So my blinking and where my eyes were going were just transferred, and then they took both of my eyes out. So it’s actually my eye, and my eye reacting to the scene.” You can see Paunovic’s CGI-ed eye when the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres on Disney+ on December 10, 2025.
