A federal appeals court has just given DOGE and the Trump administration another huge win… This afternoon, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals halted an injunction that prevented Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing sensitive information at several agencies. Last month, Biden-appointed Judge Deborah Boardman issued an injunction to block DOGE from accessing the data. Today, the federal appeals court overturned that ruling in order to give DOGE the green light to continue their auditing quest. However, the court left a block in place that prevents DOGE from accessing private information from the Social Security Administration. AP reported: An appeals court on Monday cleared the way for billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to once again access people’s private data at three federal agencies, a win for the Trump administration as the underlying lawsuit plays out. In a split ruling, the three-judge panel blocked a lower court decision that halted DOGE access at the Education Department, the Treasury Department and the Office of Personnel Management. U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman issued a preliminary injunction last month in federal court in Baltimore, saying the government failed to adequately explain why DOGE needed the information to perform its job duties. Led by the American Federation of Teachers, the plaintiffs allege the Trump administration violated federal privacy laws when it gave DOGE access to systems with personal information on tens of millions of Americans without their consent, including people’s income and asset information, Social Security numbers, birth dates, home addresses and marital and citizenship status. The Trump administration says DOGE is targeting waste across the federal government by addressing alleged fraud and upgrading technology. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has also sided with the Trump administration in other cases, including allowing DOGE access to U.S. Agency for International Development and letting executive orders against diversity, equity and inclusion move forward. The court left in place, however, an order temporarily blocking DOGE from the Social Security Administration, which contains vast amounts of personal information. Newsweek added: A divided federal appeals court has overturned a lower court ruling that had temporarily blocked the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, from accessing sensitive data from multiple federal agencies. Newsweek reached out to Musk via email on Monday for comment. Previous Legal Challenges A separate but related case involved DOGE’s attempt to access Social Security Administration data. On March 20, Maryland federal judge Ellen Hollander imposed a temporary restraining order to prevent DOGE from accessing sensitive systems within the Social Security Administration (SSA) that contain Americans’ personal information. This case was brought by the Alliance for Retired Americans, the American Federation of Teachers and other representative groups. In that ruling, Judge Hollander accused DOGE of launching a “fishing expedition” that could jeopardize privacy. “The DOGE Team is essentially engaged in a fishing expedition at SSA, in search of a fraud epidemic, based on little more than suspicion,” she wrote. “It has launched a search for the proverbial needle in the haystack, without any concrete knowledge that the needle is actually in the haystack.” DOGE challenged that temporary restraining order to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled on April 1 that it did not have jurisdiction because temporary restraining orders cannot be appealed. An appeal is generally only allowed once such an order is converted to a longer-lasting preliminary injunction. What To Know In a 2-1 decision, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted the stay issued by Judge Hollander, clearing the way for DOGE to obtain data from the Treasury Department, Education Department, and the Office of Personnel Management. The appeals court also narrowly rejected, by an 8-7 vote, a request to hear the case en banc, which would have brought the matter before all active judges on the court. What do you think?

The Trump Administration received a surprising big win today. The win came in the final hours before rogue Judge Boasberg’s midnight deadline to return the El Salvadorian man deported for illegally entering the United States and ties to the dangerous MS-13 gang. Chief Justice Roberts of the U.S. Supreme Court, surprisingly enough, blocked the deadline. The ruling by Roberts doesn’t just allow the Trump Administration to technically claim they are within bounds per the rogue judge’s ruling. It also allows them to simultaneously hold to the position that Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador was not only a good thing, but well within the President’s authority to carry out — regardless of the admitted fact that a clerical error played a role in his deportation. Which is exactly what I suspect the plan was, once the issue arose. These things need time to play out in court in order to "stick" legally. Roberts' issued the ruling and gave the the lawyers representing Garcia until 5PM Tuesday to respond, according to the New York Post: Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily blocked a lower court order Monday instructing the US government to bring back a Maryland man erroneously shipped to a notoriously brutal mega-prison in El Salvador — hours ahead of the 11:59 p.m. deadline for his return. Roberts’ order came hours after the Trump administration filed an emergency petition to the high court. The chief justice set a 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline for lawyers for Kimar Abrego Garcia to file a response to the Trump administration, signaling his intent to move quickly on the matter. On Friday, a federal judge gave the White House three days to return Garcia, who officials claimed was deported due to an “administrative error” and a “clerical error.” A 2019 immigration judge’s ruling restricted Abrego Garcia from being deported to El Salvador because he could face persecution, including from the Barrio 18 gang. The White House alleges that Abrego Garcia is a member of MS-13 — something his relatives deny. “The United States cannot guarantee success in sensitive international negotiations in advance, least of all when a court imposes an absurdly compressed, mandatory deadline that vastly complicates the give-and-take of foreign-relations negotiations,” Solicitor General John Sauer wrote inthe petition submitted to Roberts. “The United States does not control the sovereign nation of El Salvador, nor can it compel El Salvador to follow a federal judge’s bidding.” Abrego Garcia’s wife and 5-year-old child are both American citizens. Last month, authorities sent Abrego Garcia to El Salvador alongside about 260 other migrants whom it accused of gang ties. Trump had invoked wartime powers under the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act to rapidly deport organized crime members to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), which has been accused of human rights violations. Garcia was deported along with hundreds of others about a month ago. His family and lawyers have rejected the notion that he has MS-13 affiliations, and argues that he was wrongly targeted. The official narrative by those arguing against the Trump Administration's deporation of Garcia is that he is only a loving, hardworking family man who has tried to live a normal life in the United States. It is telling that the entire American media is going to run a propaganda operation today making you think an innocent "father of 3" was apprehended by a gulag. Here are the relevant facts: 1) The man is an illegal immigrant with no right to be in our country. 2) An immigration judge determined he was a member of the MS-13 gang. 3) Because he is not a citizen, he does not get a full jury trial by peers. In other words, whatever "due process" he was entitled to, he received. But Justice Roberts' order does not address the specific issues of contention in Garcia's case, according to a report in The Hill: The order does not address the underlying merits of the dispute and is not necessarily an indication of how the court will rule. The Trump administration has acknowledged an “administrative error” that mistakenly removed Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who resides in Maryland, despite an immigration judge’s 2019 ruling protecting him from being deported to El Salvador over fears of violence. Abrego Garcia was one of hundreds of migrants deported to a notorious Salvadoran prison last month. The administration has accused him of being connected to MS-13 based on a report from a confidential informant, but Abrego Garcia’s family rejects that he has any gang ties. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis, an appointee of former President Obama who serves in Maryland, late last week set the Monday night deadline for the Trump administration to return the man to the country. Many people are reacting to the news of Roberts' block to Boasberg's deadline with cautionary warnings. It recently became apparent that Justice Roberts nominated Boasberg to the FISA court, leaving many to assume that is why Roberts so quickly pushed back against President Trump's comments that Boasberg should be impeached. Or, at least, trying to put down the rumors of his connection with Boasberg -- which seem to be far more than rumors, at this point? Those may be questions for another day. But as of right now, the Trump Administration has won a victory in its ongoing struggle to right the wrongs of the past administration. And in the more immediate fight against rogue Judge Boasberg, the win couldn't be more clear.

Last week, Bill Maher famously had dinner with President Trump at the White House, a meeting arranged by Kid Rock of all people. Dana White was also in attendance to round out the table. Since then, everyone is eager to hear how it went.  What happened?  Any awkward moments?  What did Bill truly think after going and meeting the man he has so often criticized in person, did it change his opinion at all? I’ll admit it, I’m dying to hear myself. So I have an update for you. The full update won’t be out for a couple more days, Bill is saving it for his April 11th HBO show, but we got a little sneak peak today as Bill had Chris Cuomo on his podcast and they talked about it a bit. Spoiler alert: Bill is not suddenly joining MAGA, but he is admitting there are parts of President Trump he finds incredible. I first brought you a report last night, which I will repost down below in case you missed it.  But now we have new details emerging that are honestly pretty cool to hear. Let's start with this one.... Bill Maher is a comedian at heart.  You might not like him or agree with him, but he is a successful comedian and at many times he's made me laugh over the years.  Certainly not always, and I think hatred has clouded his judgment too often in recent years, but I was proud to see he approached this meeting with respect for the office of the President, respect even for President Trump, and in a way only a comedian could. Maher reportedly brought a list of insults President Trump had said about him over the years, which you have to admit is a pretty funny and self-deprecating thing to do. Yeah, well, Bill, when he showed up at the White House, he had actually brought a list of insults Trump had said about him and gave it to Trump. And what did he do? He signed it, which is very Trumpian. And they laughed and they laughed. Kudos to Maher. You know, he knows this is going to burn whatever bridge that remains with the tolerant left. But he said full steam ahead. And you’ve got to give credit to Kid Rock. You know, he went out on a limb, you know, as a bridge between two quarreling people that he happens to be friends with, and that is sharing the risk at its best. And what do you do when you share the risk? It causes other people to share the risk too. So both of these guys had something to lose, but they put their egos aside because they realize there’s nothing to lose at all once you put your egos aside. And because Kid Rock was able to take the risk, they all decided to take the risk, and I think they’re going to win from it. The scariest part for a lot of people is finding out that Trump might be a good person because you’ve sunk so much of your energy and your life into him being bad. So you might not want to meet him because the moment that you have to relinquish any of that sunk cost, what’s left? That’s why you still have, and I think it’s easier for Democrats. It’s not for never-Trump Republicans. They can’t let it go because their entire identity is wrapped around that definition of who they are. They may go into a room with them. This is one of those moments I would've loved to have been a fly on that wall. Kid Rock: I heard that from a lot of people. It started doing the show and the podcast last year, and again this year. They have things in common. Bill has a little bit more than unkind to the President. I'm friendly with them both, and I wondered if they could sit down and break bread. This country is so divided. I'm like, what if we could have some laughs and talk about some things we agree on, and maybe try to set an example for the reasonable people of this country. It's okay to disagree on things, and we can talk a little smack about each other, but at the end of the day, we are all on the same team. Sean: We live in the greatest country. But he's been a harsh critic of President Trump. You asked the President about it — what was his first reaction? Kid Rock: He called me a couple times. He's like, "What have you got me into?" I said, "Mr. President, talk to Bill." It was very nerve-racking for me leading up to it because I'm like, what if this goes terrible and things go sideways? It ruins a lot of my credibility with someone I consider a dear friend — the President. My heart was pure going into this, just trying to do the right thing. And Bill totally got it. He was like, "I'm not going to sabotage something that could bring us and this country closer together." I was like, "Mr. President, he totally gets it." And my mind was blown at how well they got along. We talked about things we had in common. The President gave us a great tour of the White House and the private residence. He called me later that night — Dana and I went out to catch up — and it must have been closer to midnight, the President called me. And he thought it went great — and so did I. Sean: Bring us all in that room. You talked about things that maybe they did agree on. Was there any disagreement at any point? What was his reaction walking in there? My understanding was this was his first time — and he's donated a fortune to Democrats. He never got invited to the White House. Kid Rock: I couldn't believe that when he said that. They were like, "Would you like to see the private residence?" He said, "Yes," and Bill said, "I've never even been there." It blew my mind going up there. He's such a gracious host. He's so fun to be around. So pleasant and funny and smart — just a guy's guy. All of us there are "sticks and stones" guys, so jokes — we don't care about that. Unlike a lot of these snowflakes over the years, where you say one thing and they're sore about it — we don't care about that. It was incredible. Dana was like, "Dude — you did a great thing." And it really made me feel good and proud. I've been a very polarizing figure in my own right, so trying to bring people together... Sean: You've been polarizing? I don't believe that for one second. Bill is going to go on his show — what do you think, based on being there, he's going to say? Kid Rock: I think he's going to say nice things about the President. He's not going to have a MAGA hat on, and he's probably not going to... Sean: Will you have your outfit on? Kid Rock: Here's a fun story. I was in the Oval Office with that outfit on — so I brought a change of clothes for dinner. That thing is very hot. But Dana told me — he goes, when Bill Maher walked into the Oval Office, he said he looked pretty nervous. The President said something, and Bill was like, "I need a drink." He said he wanted a margarita, and the President's people grabbed a margarita, and we had a great time. Sean: He goes on his show — is he going to say, "I really like this guy, we had a really good conversation, we had a meeting of the minds"? Are there any points that they disagree? What’s he going to say? Kid Rock: I believe he's going to go on the show and say nice things. I think he's going to say we don’t agree politically. It freaks out Bill when people are talking about a third term. They talked about it a little bit, but that was something that I would consider private. I feel uncomfortable sharing that, but if the President wanted to — he could. We basically stuck to things that we agree on. They both have extremely deep knowledge of American history. Both are very smart guys and very reasonable people, even though they've had this pretty harsh relationship. If they can do it — maybe that family member you have with... maybe you can go back and be like, "Let's have dinner and talk about what we do have in common." Sean: It’s a great thing you did, on every level. What was maybe a moment that stood out — something you feel free to share where maybe his reaction to something... He said he was nervous when he came in. He had the drink — that hopefully settled him down a little bit. I’m not sure if he’s allowed to smoke weed in the White House — he talks a lot about that, although some people have according to reports. In all seriousness — was there a moment when you saw a connection that you didn’t expect? Kid Rock: The whole dinner. The tour around the White House. The President was so engaged with Bill. They’re very good friends, so he's usually pretty engaged with us, and he was so engaged with Bill the whole dinner. We kind of sat back and enjoyed the show, and our minds were blown how gracious the President was to have him there — number one. That's a big deal to have him there, to reach out and say... and he was just engaged with him the whole time. There was nothing negative, and Bill was really funny. He had some funny jokes. It just couldn’t have gone better. Sean: If you keep this up, you might be the next Middle East and European envoy to bring peace. Or maybe you can bring in the ladies of The View — that might be a fun moment. I don’t think they would be able to contain themselves. They would lose it in front of him. Because everyone was a little suspect about it. Even the President had called me a few days ago, and he goes, what the hell you got me doing here? And I’m like, I’m just trying to break bread with some of our biggest critics and say, like, hey, it’s okay to talk to one another, you know? We can maybe, just maybe bring a little bit of civility back to this country for reasonable people. How do you maintain a friendship with Bill Maher, because you’re very different on politics, I think. I continue to be absolutely blown away by the consistency of Donald Trump decade after decade after decade. As more old videos are unearthed, we are now going back and listening to things he said in the 1980s and 1990s and he sounds exactly the same has he does today! While every other politician shifts like the wind, Donald Trump has stood firmly on a rock. I think I’d make a lot of friends ultimately. Interviewer If the United States government took a firmer stand with foreign countries, would we be better off, or are we so much now a part of the community of nations that we can’t really afford to offend anybody? Donald Trump I think we’d be better off, and I think we’d be far more respected. I think the Japanese would respect us far more than they do. I don’t think they have any respect for us—and they shouldn’t have any respect for us—because we are idiots when it comes to what’s happening. I mean, look at dealing with Japan. I mean, just take a look at what’s going on. They make hundreds of billions of dollars a year, and we lose money in deficits and nothing happens. And they say, no, the Japanese are learning and they’re starting to open up. In the meantime, every second goes by—we’re losing. I just think that people would have far greater respect for this country if we took a much tougher stand. It’s really quite. The part that really jumps out to me is how he talks about the fact that no politician will ever do what’s right. He would be the only one. Because it will be tough for a little bit in the beginning…. Sound familiar? This man is incredible, he told us all 30 years ago….and he’s now proving to be 100% correct on all fronts! You know what that means? If he’s been right about everything so far, then perhaps we should listen to him about how all of this will end when his plan fully kicks in, don’t you think that would be wise? At least 18 people died, and over 120 were injured after a roof collapsed at a nightclub in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday.
