Fortress Unearthed in Egypt Features Thick, Curving Walls Built 3,500 Years Ago

Rather than keeping out invaders, it’s believed the curves in these ancient fortress walls helped prevent them being eroded away by sand. And look at what a good job they did: still intact after 3,500 years in the Sinai weather. Discovered during recent excavations at the Tell el-Kharouba archaeological site in the northern Sinai Desert, […] The post Fortress Unearthed in Egypt Features Thick, Curving Walls Built 3,500 Years Ago appeared first on Good News Network.

Shutdown Will Disrupt Air Travel, Transportation Chief Warns

Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy delivered a stern message at the Capitol on Thursday: The federal government shutdown is already putting a strain on air traffic controllers, and the problem will only get worse until the government reopens. “Next Tuesday is the first paycheck that [air traffic controllers] will not receive for the work that they did in October,” Duffy said at a House Republican leadership news conference. Democrats in the Senate have repeatedly voted against a short-term funding extension to reopen the government, demanding that Republicans yield to their demands on health care policy and repealing conservative legislation. “You have a controller that’s working six days a week, but has to think about, ‘How am I going to pay the mortgage? How am I going to make the car payment? How am I going to put food on my kids’ table?’ They have to make choices, and the choices they’re making is to take a second job,” Duffy said. SEAN DUFFY: 'We'll Know Whose Fault It Is' If Air Traffic Controllers Skip Work@SecDuffy emphasized the consequences of the Democrat government shutdown, noting the hardship air traffic controllers have endured over the last three weeks."My message to them is one: thank you… pic.twitter.com/CJuE8lHGbG— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) October 23, 2025 Duffy warned of disruptions in air travel due to the shutdown as the busy holiday travel season approaches. “I can’t guarantee you that your flight is going to be on time. I can’t guarantee you that your flight’s not going to be canceled. It’s going to depend on our air traffic controllers coming in to work every single day,” he said. The news conference took place shortly before a Senate vote on a bill from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., to appropriate funds to pay essential federal workers. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, also has a bill to pay air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration employees. But Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., said he sees little chance of Senate Democrats budging and supporting those bills. “We are told that the Democrats have vowed to vote ‘no’ on that measure,” Johnson said when asked whether he would bring the House back into session if the Senate voted to restore pay to federal workers. “They will vote against restoring paychecks to troops, Border Patrol agents, air traffic controllers, TSA agents, and all the rest.” ‘Take Heart America. All Your Suffering Is For A Great Cause: The Democrat’s Political Leverage,’ Says Speaker Mike Johnson“Katherine Clark is the House Democrat Whip. She works right under Hakeem Jeffries, as the No. 1 Democrat, and she was in an interview and she said to one… pic.twitter.com/AnN0BWptr8— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) October 23, 2025 Johnson rejected the idea of bringing the House back into session to take the lead on passing bills to pay federal workers. He said he thinks it would be doomed to fail, and if passed, would only ease pressure on Democrats to keep the government shut down. “They’re going to show you this afternoon that they would spike that bill, so it would be a waste of our time, and it would take the pressure off [Senate Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer to get his job done and open the government again,” Johnson said of the New York Democrat. The shutdown appears likely to drag on as a staring contest between Democrats and Republicans to see who blinks first and yields to pressure. Calls Grow for the EU to Enforce “Values” Through Speech Rules

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. European governments are intensifying pressure on Brussels to tighten control over which organizations receive EU funding, using the language of “combating hate” to justify measures that could sharply restrict free expression. France, Austria, and the Netherlands have jointly circulated a paper calling on the European Commission to withdraw financial support from any group that does not conform to “European values.” The document, seen by Politico, urges member states to “redouble their efforts to combat racism, antisemitism, xenophobia and anti-Muslim hatred” and to ensure “no support is given to entities hostile to European values, in particular through funding.” Behind the rhetoric of tolerance, the plan lays out a system that ties access to EU money directly to ideological loyalty. Under the proposal, beneficiaries of programs such as Erasmus+ and CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) would be required to sign pledges confirming that they “respect and promote EU rights and values.” The Commission would also be instructed to apply existing budget rules that allow for excluding groups accused of “inciting hatred.” The initiative arrives just ahead of a European Council meeting in Brussels, where leaders are set to discuss a range of topics, including Ukraine, migration, defense, and Europe’s digital and environmental goals. A draft of the Council’s conclusions adds another layer by insisting that “EU values apply equally in the digital sphere,” with the “protection of minors” highlighted as a key aim. What looks like a defense of European ideals increasingly resembles an effort to police opinions. By expanding the concept of hate speech both online and offline, the document could allow EU institutions to label controversial or dissenting views as violations of European values. This would effectively hand Brussels the power to determine which voices are acceptable in public debate. The proposal also calls on Europol to develop a dedicated project to investigate hate crimes and encourages new education and awareness programs on tolerance and Holocaust remembrance. Yet the focus on “values” and “respect” leaves open who decides what those words mean, and how far the EU may go in enforcing them. WATCH: Alex Stein ASSAULTED at No Kings protest

Last weekend, Alex Stein, Blaze Media’s resident troll and host of “Prime Time with Alex Stein,” entered the belly of the beast at Dallas’ No Kings protest, where violent liberal women assaulted him. “The footage you just saw was from this past weekend. ... It was the No Kings round two protest, the anti-Donald Trump protest. And I really did not understand what we were even protesting because we don't have kings in this country,” says Alex.“Really and truly, they were the ones that were acting like kings the whole time. They were the ones that were being rude and making me leave their country — a.k.a. the public park where they're all doing fentanyl.”Alex’s guest political consultant and podcast host Ryan Girdusky describes the protest as “noticeably old” and “heavily female.”“I think that those are the last people really watching cable news, and they are creating almost like a cable news-induced psychosis that's generational,” he says. These geriatric protesters, he believes, “have this notion that democracy is ending,” even though “every sign is that democracy is there.”“It so much reminds me of when teenage girls all of a sudden say they're trans. Like it is induced by what they're absorbing from the culture, and they have sat there and marinated in it,” he tells Alex.“It’s kind of like the hippie Boomers that all got to buy their house for $100,000, and now they're worth like $2 million,” says Alex. After being assaulted by some of these people, he wonders if conservatives are really becoming genuine victims in this country. “We keep on saying we're victims. Is that a real thing, or is that a right-wing conspiracy?” he asks Ryan. After receiving “over a thousand threats ... within a 12-hour period” of being banned from CNN for a perceived Islamophobic comment he made to Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan, Ryan says the danger is real.“I think Republicans are under assault, and there are crazy people who don't have the moral compass and the morality to sit there and see that there's a soul behind somebody, and they're created in the image of God,” he says. And on top of that, they genuinely believe they are “fighting Nazis.”“Is [a left-wing protest] the most dangerous place you could be? No. You could always be in a black majority Democrat-run city somewhere,” he says.To hear more of the conversation and see footage of Alex at the No Kings protest, watch the episode above.Want more from Alex Stein? To enjoy more of Alex's culture jamming, comedic monologues, skits, and street segments, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
