Trumps Birthday Parade was BORING - No Kings Protests Nation Wide ? HUGE Turnout ! Must See

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump finally got his North Korea-style military parade for his birthday Saturday, which featured tanks and rocket launchers rolling down the streets of the capital city before smaller-than-expected crowds. “Every other country celebrates their victories, it’s about time America did too,” Trump said in a brief, eight-minute speech. It followed the two-hour parade down Constitution Avenue, during which Trump primarily sat, appeared bored, but occasionally stood to salute the passing troops and military hardware. I Went To A “No Kings” Protest – Here’s What I Saw (Video)

Protests are springing up all of the US.  The vast majority of them are not organic but orchestrated to end in insurrection.  However, we were warned about several events, including the “No Kings” protest slated for cities across the country. The Liberty Sentinel’s Andrew Muller attended one of these on Saturday in Florida and this …

Ashley McBryde Celebrates Three Years Of Sobriety By Connecting With Nature: “The Kind Of Party I Needed”

Ashley McBryde continues to be a light to those on their own sobriety journey. Over the last three years, Ashley McBryde has been one of many artists who reevaluated their relationship with alcohol. And she’s not alone… in the last few years, there have been many artists who have changed their drinking habits, either cutting out entirely or limiting the amount they drink before hitting the stage. These artists include Marcus King, Jon Pardi, Ernest, Hardy, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, and the list can go on. While a sobriety journey can look different for everyone, maybe you’re “California sober” or handle it privately, Ashley McBryde has been one artist who has shared much of her journey. As she celebrates three years, she continues to be a light and support others considering going sober or needing support. IMcBryde shared with her fans on her third anniversary of choosing herself that she reconnected with nature that day, spending time on the beautiful earth. This was a very fitting outing, given that her anniversary fell a day after National Outdoors Day. “Today marks 3 years. Since my last drink. My last time being ‘that guy’ in my social and professional circles. The last panicked phone call for help. The final slip up that caused the intervention from those that love me and the shift in me allowing me to say “that’s enough”. The details are known by those who are deserving of such painful information. Gratitude is the guiding light today. Grief is okay. A version of me had to die off so I could become myself. I have love for her and every other version of me that had to exist so I could stand by this waterfall today. Thank you for the ability to stand here. Celebrating by connecting to Mother Earth was just the kind of party I needed. If you’re struggling , reach out. You aren’t alone and don’t have to be. You’re gonna be delighted at how many of us there are. I love you, keep going.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ashley McBryde (@ashleymcbryde) McBryde first opened up to the public that she was sober a year into her journey. First speaking about it on Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen in 2023, McBryde got honest with herself about her relationship with alcohol when writing The Devil I Know. McBryde waited until a year in her journey to speak on it because she was worried that opening up about her struggles would jeopardize her progress and she was not willing to “screw it up.” Since being sober, McBryde realized that her drinking was becoming very “detrimental” to her well-being, and her drinking kept her from fully feeling the emotions in her heart and mind. “Turns out it was just really detrimental. And then when you’re finding out the reasons that you’re going so overboard all the time was because of your inability to feel something that your brain was like, I can’t do it. I can’t do it. I’m like, well, that’s weak. I’m not going to accept that. I’d rather just hurt. This morning, I was at the boxing gym working out with my coach. We were doing something that was hard, and he said, ‘Are you okay? Do you need a break?’ And I said, ‘I know how to hurt.’ I do now. I mean, I knew how to hurt before and add extra to it for no reason.” Just like many artists who cope with unhealthy vices, McBryde worried that she felt like her songwriting or stage presence might decline after giving up alcohol, but that was not the case at all. In fact, she felt like she was more present than ever and could dig deeper, sharing truly vulnerable thoughts. One of those thoughts appears on her tune “Blackout Betty.” The song, penned with Aaron Raitiere and Nicolette Hayford, features lyrics as McBryde reflects on her relationship with alcohol, realizing that she no longer had control of her consumption and was spiraling out of control. The song is almost a reflection of herself in that moment, feeling like a “real piece of sh*t.” “There’s even a line in Blackout Betty that says, ‘Why can’t I have just one glass of wine? Hey, I’m a real piece of sh*t sometimes.’ And at the time, I was. Pretty often. But you’ll hear it in context and you’ll be like, yeah, it’s kind of said in a jabbing you in the ribs kind of way… And I know that my therapist would be like, ‘We’re not going to say that I’m a piece of sh*t sometimes. We can say I’m messy, we can say I’m complicated.’ But at the time, it was absolute truth. I mean, I wrote the song hungover.” Listening to the song after learning this puts some weight on the lyrics and makes you see it in a new light. Like many of McBryde’s other sobriety milestones, her third anniversary was marked by comments from her country music peers celebrating her accomplishment. Here’s to Ashley McBryde being vulnerable with her fans and showcasing that it’s okay to admit that you need to make a change. Ashley McBryde’s authenticity is one of the many reasons she’s one of the most bada** women in country music. Every milestone is worth celebrating, and we are cheering for her during each one.The post Ashley McBryde Celebrates Three Years Of Sobriety By Connecting With Nature: “The Kind Of Party I Needed” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Wade Bowen Teams Up With Cody Johnson For Moving Acoustic Version Of “Hidin’ Behind The Microphone”

Wade Bowen is revisiting a song on his 2024 record, Flyin’, with another one of Texas’ finest country artists. The track “Hidin Behind The Microphone” was the concluding track on Wade Bowen’s most recent studio project. Some might have overlooked the tune, given that it’s hidden at the bottom of the 12-track record, but it’s arguably one of the most moving songs on Flyin’. However, those familiar with the song fell in love with the vulnerable songwriting from Bowen, Jim Beavers, and Randy Rogers. “Hiding Behind The Microphone” pulls back the curtain to the unglamorous side of life on the road. As Bowen is a faithful road dog, these lyrics hit home to him. But unlike most songs that talk about the hardships of being away from family, friends, or missing important life events, “Hidin Behind The Microphone” shares the struggle of putting on a smile during a performance when you are going through it. The vulnerable lyrics showcase the job that artists have to make their fans feel good and provide a good time. Even if it appears they are having the same experience on stage, that’s not always the case. “Keep on singin’ Keep on smilin’ Try to make the people dance and drink a while then Maybe they won’t know I’m feelin’ so alone Hidin’ behind this microphone…” Wade Bowen is revisiting the song and releasing a stunning acoustic version today. However, after fellow Texan Cody Johnson reached out to him to share how much he loved the music, Bowen looped him into this reimagination of the tune. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Wade Bowen (@wadebowen) “I’ve loved this song so much from the moment we wrote it, and it took us a long time to finish it, which just happens sometimes. It was already one of my favorite songs on the album when I started getting texts from Cody about how much he loved the song and related to it some nights. Obviously coming from a guy like him that means the world. He’s one of my favorite voices and has always been a good friend to me. I’m so glad we finally got to do something together.” Johnson, who also spends many months of the year on the road, is familiar with this feeling. Despite what he’s going through personally, he always shows up for his fans to put on a boot-stomping good time. He masks his feelings for the hour and a half or so that he’s on stage, but he, too, might be “Hidin Behind The Microphone” some nights. This song hits different acoustically with the harmonies that Bowen and Johnson lay down. The song features a slight moan of the steel guitar and drives home the hurt the singers feel when they are having an “off” night and have to put on a face for their fans. “Hidin Behind The Microphone” reminds us that our favorite artists are humans, too, and have their good and bad days. Post Malone Shines On Stripped Back Performance Of “Ain’t How It Ends”

Stripping it back. Post Malone isn’t leaving country music anytime soon. The former pop and rap artist traded his chains for boots, taking the music from his debut country record F-1 Trillion nationwide. Accompanied by Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell, the Big A** Stadium Tour has been filled with stellar performances, and they will keep it going as he takes it overseas later this summer with Jelly Roll joining him on a few of those stops. While Posty is packing out stadiums what feels like every night, he’s also finding some time to have fun while being on the road. Part of Malone having some fun on the road includes teaming up with The Littlest Honky Tonk for a stripped back performance of “Ain’t How It Ends.” Released on his B-side Long Bed portion of F-1 Trillion, “Ain’t How It Ends” is one of my favorite songs from the solo collections. The premise of the lyrics is how a stereotypical country song ends. We all know how the heartbroken man will cry that he couldn’t win the girl back, the sad lyrics get even sadder later, and so on and so forth. But “Ain’t How It Ends” highlights the other side of that. The girl does come back, and the sad ending turns happy. “Baby I could put the bottle downYou could say you wanna come back homeI could leave this bar right nowYou could meet me at the door with nothin’ onWe can find a way to work this outAw but girl it would feel so wrongNo comin’ back cuz baby that ain’t how it endsIn a country song…” On one of his days off, Malone teamed up with The Littlest Honky Tonk for a stellar rendition of the tune. While the performance is well-worth watching on its own, it sounds like Malone had quite the time with travelling honky tonk and the country music museum. “On our trip to Utah, we spent some late nights, drinking Bud Light, and chatting about our favorite country songs and artists of today and yesterday. Nights spent reciting some of Roger Miller’s funniest lyrics, going back and forth showing each other songs and sing-alongs. Post Malone knows that country music ranges from the classic cowboy to the yodeler to the country of today, and this song is a love song that meshes all these influences. Post Malone proves he’s true blue – from creating genuine country music to dedicating his time to learning the cowboy way, working his cattle from the saddle and perfecting the houlihan. We left our experience with respect, core memories, and a new friend in Post.” Sounds like a stamp approval. Post Malone is letting his vocal ability shine on a stripped-back performance of the tune. Although it’s a song from his debut country record, the traditional stylings of the song fall perfectly in line with what he hopes to accomplish on his next record. Producer Derek Wells says the “Finer Things” singer’s next project will feature Malone stepping over the line between pop music and country music, deep into the heart of the country genre, where he will channel some George Jones and ’80s George Strait. Wells shares: “There’s also more fiddle, pedal steel, guitar solos. Where we started as two feet over the line into traditional country on ‘F-1 Trillion’ has turned into head, chest, shoulders and feet across the line on where we’re headed with the next batch of songs.” Come on with it. Post Malone has solidified his seat at the country music table, and we are here for it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this next chapter of music. The post Post Malone Shines On Stripped Back Performance Of “Ain’t How It Ends” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
