Street Fighter Movie Circles Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns for Casting

News Street Fighter Street Fighter Movie Circles Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns for Casting The Capcom video game adaptation appears to finally be heading toward production. The Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou were originally tapped in 2023 to helm the project, but they then bowed out and Twisted Metal director Kitao Sakurai stepped in in February 2025. The early 2026 release date hasn’t changed, however, which is why it’s good news to hear that the production is in “early negotiations” for its cast. According to Deadline, Jason Momoa (seen above on the left sporting a pink fringed leather jacket in A Minecraft Movie), Andrew Koji (above on the right in the amazing Max series Warrior, which you should watch if you haven’t yet), Noah Centineo (aka Atom Smasher in Black Adam), and WWE’s Roman Reigns will potentially join the film. There’s no news yet on what characters each of these actors will be taking on from the Capcom video game the movie is based on. Maybe Koji for Ryu? Momoa as Retsu? I have no idea and both of these guesses are probably wrong! Hopefully we’ll get official answers soon, or maybe this will be a fun thing to debate on Bluesky. One thing we do know is that the release date for Street Fighter remains unchanged: This latest adaptation is still set to punch its way into theaters on March 20, 2026.[end-mark] The post Street Fighter Movie Circles Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns for Casting appeared first on Reactor.

Thune Clears Way for Vote on Ending California’s EV Mandate

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., has overcome Democrat opposition to proceeding to a vote this week on overturning California’s electric vehicle mandate. In a 53 to 46 party-line vote, the Senate on Wednesday moved to proceed with a vote on revoking a Biden-era Environmental Protection Agency exemption that enabled California to ban the sales of new gasoline-powered cars and truck in the state in 2035. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., did not vote. The House of Representatives has already voted to revoke the EPA exemption. The Senate vote—which is exempt from the filibuster due to coming under the purview of the Congressional Review Act—is likely to result in a successful overturning of the EPA regulation. Thune’s move for a vote on reviewing the EPA exemption comes after significant procedural hurdles. The Government Accountability Office had controversially stated that the Senate could not revoke the Biden-era EPA regulation because it did not qualify as a “rule.” The GAO is an independent and ostensibly nonpartisan government agency that exists to provide support services for Congress. Thune addressed the GAO ruling on the Senate floor. “It’s an extraordinary deviation from precedent for an agency that should be defending Congress’ power instead of constraining it,” Thune declared, noting that “we [the Senate] need to act to ensure that this intrusion into the Congressional Review Act process doesn’t become a habit, and that the Senate doesn’t end up transferring its decision-making power on CRA resolutions to the Government Accountability Office.” The Senate majority leader is holding the vote also against the recommendation of the Senate parliamentarian, who said the EPA exemption was not subject to the Congressional Review Act, but this is not the first time the parliamentarian has been ignored. Democrats overruled the Senate parliamentarian in 2011 on whether Republicans could add unrelated amendments to a bill about China currency. Notably, the House parliamentarian did not rule that the CRA did not apply to the matter. Thune addressed concerns that the Senate was violating norms by disregarding the parliamentarian. “We are not talking about doing anything to erode the institutional character of the Senate; in fact, we are talking about preserving the Senate’s prerogatives.” The South Dakota Republican detailed the potentially massive economic consequences if the EV mandate were allowed to take effect. “Under California’s electric vehicle mandate, automakers around the country would be forced to close down a substantial part of their traditional vehicle production, with serious consequences. Diminished economic output. Job losses. Declining tax revenues,” Thune said. Thune also pointed out the many infrastructure challenges that an EV mandate would impose on the power grid. “We are—to quote a Washington Post headline from last March—‘running out of power,’ as a surge in demand and the premature retirement of fossil fuel-fired power plants push us to the brink. Our electric grid is simply not in a position to absorb a huge surge in electric vehicles,” he said. California’s ban has ramifications for the entire automobile market of the U.S. not only because of the state’s huge market share, but also because it has inspired about a dozen other states to follow California’s lead. “It’s a really problematic policy, because it’s not just economically destructive, but it’s also because of [California’s] size. It influences things well beyond our borders,” Wayne Winegarden, a senior fellow in business and economics at the Pacific Research Institute, told The Daily Signal. The post Thune Clears Way for Vote on Ending California’s EV Mandate appeared first on The Daily Signal.

MRC VP Schneider Denounces ‘Greatest Weapon’ for Censorship in Heart of EU

MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider and other free speech advocates exposed the insidious impact of a vague European censorship law from the capital of the European Union. Schneider and his fellow panelists went after the pro-censorship European Union for cheering on Big Tech censorship at a May 21 panel in Brussels. Schneider specifically lambasted the EU’s draconian Digital Services Act (DSA) which has utilized vague language to encourage tech companies to censor content in order to avoid crippling fines. He went so far as to characterize the law as “the greatest weapon that the left has ever invented to attack anybody who opposes its progressive, radical, agenda.” [Story Continues on MRC Free Speech America]

Why Students Are Miserable: The Coddling of the American Mind

Now that Texas and South Carolina have passed school choice bills, parents will be able to choose the best school for their kids in 17 states. Why not all states? After all, competition improves services. The Post Office couldn’t get it there overnight. Then FedEx showed it could be done. Quickly, UPS and DHL did it, too, and now even the Post Office does ... sometimes. Consumer choice is a big reason capitalist countries outperform socialist ones. But in most of America, parents have little or no choice when it comes to which school their kids attend. Bureaucrats decide based on where you live. Live in a neighborhood with lousy schools? Too bad for your kids. Some parents, desperate to get their kids out of a bad school, are jailed for lying about where they live. All parents should have the option to choose which school their children attend. But in most states, government school bureaucrats won’t let them. Sometimes, it’s because they receive large political donations from teachers’ unions. Unions don’t want competition. Years ago, New York City’s teachers’ union staged a protest outside my office because I did a TV special about school choice. I’d confronted union boss Randi Weingarten about how hard it was to fire even a terrible teacher. Instead, principals sneakily transfer them to another school. “Dance of the lemons,” they call it. Weingarten just replied, smugly, “We’ll police our own profession.” Her protesters then picketed ABC News headquarters, shouting, “Shame on you, John Stossel!” “They don’t want people to be able to take their kids somewhere else because they know that they’re failing your children,” says education researcher Corey DeAngelis in my new video. “Money doesn’t belong to the government schools. Education funding is supposed to be meant for educating children, not for propping up and protecting a particular institution. We should fund the student, not the system.” Then, parents can use education funding to attend a charter or private school. Schools get better when they have to compete for your kids. A recent study found that “more education freedom is significantly associated with increased NAEP scores.” Florida’s math and reading scores were once among the worst in the nation. After they expanded school choice, says DeAngelis, “They ranked #1 ... And it’s not a money issue. They spend about 27% less than the national average, and they’re knocking it out of the park.” A study on Florida’s expansion of school choice found “benefits include higher standardized test scores and lower absenteeism and suspension rates. Effects are particularly pronounced for lower-income students.” When there is a choice, public schools improve as well. Twenty-nine studies examined the impact of school choice on test scores, with 26 finding a positive effect. Wait. I shouldn’t call them public schools. They’re government schools. They’re less “public” than a “private” supermarket. Markets are often open 24/7. Anyone can enter. Try that with a government-run “public” school. School bureaucrats and teachers’ unions say that “choice takes money away from public schools!” But that’s not true. Government schools now spend about $20,000 per student. School choice vouchers average just $8,200. So, when a student leaves and takes voucher money with them, government schools are left with more money per student! As DeAngelis puts it, “They get to keep thousands of dollars for students they’re no longer educating.” Ignorant media leftists insist that schools are underfunded. “If we want our public schools to get better, we can’t take money out of the system,” says a “View” anchor. But no one is taking money out of the system! Inflation-adjusted funding per student doubled over the past 40 years. “Government schools in the United States now spend around $20,000 per student per year,” says DeAngelis. “That’s about 60% higher than average private school tuition!” $20,000 per child. Where does that money go? “To administrative bloat,” says DeAngelis. Since 2000, student enrollment rose by 5%, but the number of administrators increased by 95%. “The best solution to this problem is to make the funding portable,” says DeAngelis. “Let funding follow the child. Then maybe administrators will have an incentive to up their game. ... Competition is a rising tide that lifts all boats.” Every Tuesday at JohnStossel.com, Stossel posts a new video about the battle between government and freedom.

Scarborough Finally Admits: 'I Was Obviously Wrong' About 'Best Biden Ever'

It's only taken Joe Scarborough 441 days to "handle the truth." As late as yesterday, in a conversation with Mark Halperin in his excellent "Next Up" series, an intransigent Scarborough was still defending the absurd claim he made on March 6, 2024: "F-you if you can't handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever." An adamant Scarborough told Halperin: "Am I going to look at a clip [of a stumbling Biden] that's gone viral and pay more attention to that than two-and-a-half, three hours I had with the guy one-on-one going around the world [on foreign policy issues]. No, I'm just not going to. "Are some of the clips bad? Yeah, they certainly are bad. I can understand why people would see that, without the context, and say that there was a problem with that. Especially because I said, start with your tape right here. "But when I look at that tape, based on what I saw with Biden, based on the time that I spent with Biden, based on the hundreds of hours that I talked to people who talked to Biden, and people that worked with Biden, and were with him day in and day out. Good friends that I know, that I trusted before Biden was president, that I trust now that Biden's not president. "I mean, put into proper context, I'm just not going to freak out and melt down on one or two clips here or there." But finally, on today's Morning Joe, in a conversation with "Original Sin" co-authors Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, Scarborough finally admitted that in making his "best Biden ever" claim, "I was obviously wrong." Mika Brzezinski kicked off the conversation by bizarrely trying to get her guests to agree that Biden had "a successful presidency, a remarkable presidency, possibly even a historic presidency." Tapper deflected: "I'm not here to render a verdict on how successful a president he was," turning the discussion to the cover-up of Biden's decline. In defending against the authors' [accurate] assertion that the media didn't do its job in covering Biden's decline, Mika pointed to the fact that the very next day after Biden's disastrous debate performance, Scarborough had called on him to quit the race. But, speaking of bizarre things, Mika went on to say that she still believes Biden should have stayed in the race, the debate meltdown notwithstanding: "I personally went on a very long plea for him to stay in the race, and I still stand by it. Nobody agrees with me." Nobody? Not necessarily so, Mika! Don't forget that immediately following the debate, Dr. Jill congratulated Biden: "Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question! You knew all the facts!" Tapper ended the conversation with an attempt to elicit sympathy for Biden, and to explain his supposedly sudden decline. Tapper said that "top aides told us:" "The two moments in which he really seemed to lose the most in terms of this non-functioning Biden, his acuity just draining out of his body, was the summer of 2023 when Hunter Biden's plea deal fell apart, and then June before the debate, 2024, when Hunter Biden was convicted of a crime and there was very real chance of him going to prison." Tapper continued: "And Hunter Biden was saying things along the lines of, they're trying to make me relapse. They, meaning the Republicans, they're trying to make me relapse. They're trying to make me kill myself. They're trying to, you know. And President Biden had a very real and legitimate fear that he was going to lose a third child. And that drained life from him, and that was very impactful. " Tapper shows his true colors. Who was ultimately responsible for Biden's decline? It was those evil Republicans, who were trying to make Hunter kill himself, thus causing Biden to fear for the loss of yet another child. In fact, there was NO chance of Hunter ever going to prison, since it was widely understood that Biden was always planning to pardon Hunter, as he did a month before leaving office. And why would Tapper credulously buy into what "top aides" to Biden told him, since they were lying to him and anyone who would listen about sharp-as-a-tack Biden? Note: Tapper did more talking than his co-author Thompson, but the latter injected an important dose of reality. When Tapper said that Biden, Dr. Jill and top advisors felt he should run in 2024 because they believed he was the only one who could beat Trump, who posed an "existential threat to the republic," Thompson retorted: "How much of it was them looking for a reason, versus what was the reality?" Bingo. Here's the transcript. MSNBC Morning Joe 5/21/25 7:31 am EDT MIKA BRZEZINSKI: I guess at first, I'll start with kind of an obvious question, but Jake, is it fair to say that Joe Biden had a successful presidency, a remarkable presidency, possibly even a historic presidency in his time in office? JAKE TAPPER: Well, he certainly feels that way, and we don't really render -- MIKA: But when you look at the legislation that he passed and his accomplishments and how it ranks against other presidents? TAPPER: I'm not here to render a verdict on how successful a president he was. Certainly, he feels that way. You can point to any number of accomplishments he has, he had, having to do with NATO or the infrastructure bill or the CHIPS Act and on and on. And that will be for history to decide. Obviously, the American people thought that the country was on the wrong track and took issue with the border and inflation and his age and acuity. But this book is more focused on what happened. You know, we all saw the debate June 27th. We were all shocked. We were all stunned at his inability to communicate his thoughts and the record that you speak of to the American people. And Alex and I set out to figure out what happened. MIKA: Right. . . . TAPPER: The bottom line is, the reason that Biden, his wife, his son, Donilon and Ricchetti and others convinced themselves that what they were doing was in the best interest of the country was, one, they thought only Joe Biden could defeat Donald Trump. They were convinced of that. Two, they thought that Donald Trump posed an existential threat to the republic. And if you think that those are the stakes, you can justify almost anything. JOE SCARBOROUGH: Well, they also thought, three, as you all point out, that Kamala Harris couldn't beat Donald Trump, right? TAPPER: That's true. How much of that was driving it? ALEX THOMPSON: I mean, how much of it was them looking for a reason, versus what was the reality? . . . MIKA: One of the contentions you make is that sort of the media didn't do its part or did, like, way too late. And what's not in the book is the day after the debate, Joe, very painfully, immediately says Biden should step out of the race. It was really a big change for the direction of the show. I personally went on a very long plea for him to stay in the race, and I still stand by it. Nobody agrees with me. . . . SCARBOROUGH: I've told you about going in and talking to him for two and a half, three hours inside the White House. Uh, far beyond cogent. I mean, really, really, uh, has a better, has a grasp of international, uh, politics. Yeah. In a way that only somebody's been doing it since he was 29 years old. TAPPER: Sure. SCARBOROUGH: We get phone calls at home where the guy is, like, pounding me because of op-eds that I wrote, et cetera, et cetera. So I said that that this was Biden at his, at his best. TAPPER: Sure. SCARBOROUGH: That's what I saw. TAPPER: I don't doubt it. SCARBOROUGH: That's what other people saw. I was obviously wrong. TAPPER: And one of the other things that's really important, and this does continue to get to the tragedy of this all, is top aides told us that the two moments in which he really seemed to lose the most in terms of this non-functioning Biden, his acuity just draining out of his body, was the summer of 2023 when Hunter Biden's plea deal fell apart, and then June before the debate, 2024, when Hunter Biden was convicted of a crime and there was very real chance of him going to prison. And the reason is not just how sad it was for the family, but because at this point, President Biden has lost two children, Beau, and then his daughter in that horrible 1972 accident. And Hunter Biden was saying things along the lines of, they're trying to make me relapse. They, meaning the Republicans, they're trying to make me relapse. They're trying to make me kill myself. They're trying to, you know. And President Biden had a very real and legitimate fear that he was going to lose a third child. And that drained life from him, and that was very impactful.

‘No one is above the law’: Democrats PANIC as one of their own actually faces justice

Over the past few years of unhinged lawfare against President Trump, “no one is above the law” has become a favorite saying of the Democrats. However, now one of their own is on the legal chopping block — and they’re crying injustice. Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) has been officially charged for assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement after being accused of assaulting two federal agents at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility in New Jersey last month. According to a new charging document, the ICE facility was stormed by McIver and two other New Jersey lawmakers before McIver allegedly assaulted a Homeland Security Investigations agent and an ICE agent. The charging document also states that McIver "pushed an ICE officer and used her forearms to forcibly strike the agent." “Yes, congresswoman, nobody is above the law,” BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales says on “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered.” “Now, listen. Those on the left might say, ‘This is fascism, ‘Trump is literally Hitler,’ ‘This is just political games are being played.’” “I would ask what, then, were the 91 indictments and the 34 felony counts of Donald Trump, not for, like, assaulting an ICE officer, not for impeding police and law enforcement, but for falsifying business records, which was a stretch, for the classified documents, which Joe Biden had in his garage where his crackhead son had access to,” she continues. “All of these bogus things, and now, we have, what is it, the chickens coming home to roost,” she adds. BlazeTV host Pat Gray is in full agreement. “When you see the video, you know that she’s pushing around officers. You can easily make the assault case there, they would on any normal citizen,” Gray comments. “And we just heard a million times, ‘no one is above the law.’” “So yeah, I don’t think they’ve got any room to complain on this,” he adds. Ed Martin floats names of 'gatekeepers' in Biden autopen controversy; Trump accuses exploiters of 'TREASON'

Ed Martin, the incoming Department of Justice pardon attorney and director of the DOJ's Weaponization Working Group, announced last week that he was looking into the questionable "autopen" pardons issued in the final days of the Biden White House. It turns out, however, that he began digging into the matter while still the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. Martin revealed on Tuesday that his investigation into the use of the autopen has actually been underway for weeks; that he has reached out to members of the Biden family; that some persons of interest have "lawyered up"; and that a whistleblower has already come forward with some troubling allegations. "I had a whistleblower in my office 10 day ago — senior, senior Democrat — saying, 'Look, it was these three people that controlled access, and they were making money off of it,'" Martin told journalist Mark Halperin on the "2WAY Tonight" show. "I don't know if I believe it yet, but the point is, I think, we have to get to the bottom of it for the American people and to protect the process, and that's what we're doing." Martin indicated that the whistleblower was involved with the 2020 Biden campaign at the highest levels. 'There's no question that Ed Martin is on the case.' When pressed on the identity of the three alleged exploiters of the presidential autopen, Martin noted he had to answer carefully. Rather than explicitly identify potential abusers of the autopen, Martin provided Halperin with the names of "gatekeepers" who were "dominant characters in the White House." Martin identified the following three "gatekeepers": Ron Klain, Biden's White House chief of staff from 2021 to 2023 who returned to the fold last year amid Biden's debate preparation; former senior Biden adviser Anita Dunn; and Barack Obama's former personal attorney Robert Bauer. The DOJ's pardon attorney subsequently threw two more names into the mix — Steve Ricchetti, former counselor to Biden who previously served as chairman of his 2020 presidential campaign, and "obviously Jill [Biden]." Martin told Halperin that he asked the whistleblower about the involvement of Susan Rice or others, but "they said, 'No, these were the ones.'" RELATED: Justice is coming for Biden's 'autopen' pardons — and Trump's DOJ just put everyone on notice Photo by SAUL LOEB/AFP via Getty Images The Oversight Project revealed in early March that Biden's signature on numerous pardons, executive orders, and other documents of national consequence was likely machine-generated. The watchdog group later confirmed that "the same exact Biden autopen signature" was used on the pardons for Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, members of the Biden clan, and former members of the House Jan. 6 select committee. These revelations — in conjunction with reports of staffers and family members making decisions on Biden's behalf; evidence that Biden's signature appeared on documents while he was on vacation; Biden's alleged admission to having no recollection of a consequential January 2024 order to pause decisions on exports of liquefied natural gas; and a former Biden aide's claim that a key Biden staffer was suspected of unilaterally making decisions to sign documents as the former president's mental faculties declined — kicked off the firestorm that ultimately prompted the Trump administration to take a closer look. Mike Howell, president of the Oversight Project, told Blaze News, "There's no question that Ed Martin is on the case. As both the pardon attorney and President Trump's weaponization czar, he is uniquely positioned to answer the question everyone is asking, 'Who was the president during the Biden years?'" "We are thrilled that the president and Martin are taking up our autopen investigation with such zeal," added Howell. 'They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger.' The DOJ told Blaze News the department had no comment. Just hours before Martin shed additional light on the investigation underway, President Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that those who exploited former President Joe Biden's cognitive impairment and allegedly "took over the Autopen" were guilty of "TREASON at the Highest Level." "Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will," wrote the president. "It wasn't his idea to Open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now. It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger." 'This is the biggest scandal in American history.' Trump added, "Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs that wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn't, because I came along." RELATED: Joe Biden was a puppet, not a president. So who signed the pardons? Photo by Emily Elconin/Bloomberg via Getty Images Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) told Newsmax Tuesday that the House Oversight Committee will also look into autopen use in the Biden White House, stating, "We don't believe Joe Biden knew what was going on." "We're going to try to get to the bottom of this because this is the biggest scandal in American history," said Comer. "Not only do you have a president whose family was on the take from our adversaries around the world, you also have a situation where some of those family members were possibly, and I would go even further and say, probably running the country." Lindy Li, a former Democratic strategist and fundraiser who served as a surrogate for failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris and worked for the 2020 Biden campaign, identified a potential usurper earlier this year whose name Martin's whistleblower appears to have omitted: Hunter Biden. Li told the eponymous host of the "Shawn Ryan Show" podcast in February that after Joe Biden's humiliating debate with Trump, Hunter Biden, Jill Biden, and a handful of other unelected senior advisers were effectively serving as a combined shadow president. Li's suspicions echoed those expressed by Trump to Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck in October, namely that Joe Biden was effectively little more than a figurehead for a "committee" of unnamed bureaucrats. Comer noted further Tuesday, "We don't believe that autopen was authorized by Joe Biden." "We don't believe that using the autopen makes these executive orders and even these pardons legal," continued Comer. "We're going to do this investigation. Hopefully, it will benefit Trump in court as he tries to do what the American people want done. And that's drain the swamp." Editor's note: Mike Howell is a contributor to Blaze News. Ex-NFL linebacker allegedly leaves son, 6, in car to solicit prostitute — then gets arrested in ICE human trafficking sting

Numerous law enforcement agencies teamed up earlier this month in Florida to arrest more than 250 people as part of a human trafficking bust — and one of those arrested is a former NFL linebacker.Homeland Security — along with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and Lake County Sheriff’s Office — conducted an undercover mission called "Operation Fool Around and Find Out" from May 2 through May 10.'Obviously he must have hit one too many people as a linebacker, because his brain cells are scrambled.'Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor was arrested during the sting. Police on May 8 allegedly captured Taylor on video discussing sexual behavior with an undercover officer posing as a prostitute. However, the reported presence of Taylor's 6-year-old son made the situation even worse.RELATED: US attorney announces indictments against 'prophet,' wife for alleged sex trafficking, forced labor in alleged church scheme Photo by: 2019 Nick Cammett/Diamond Images/Getty ImagesTaylor was alleged to have left his son in the car when he went into the site of the sting operation, and Taylor subsequently was arrested for felony negligent child abuse without bodily harm and misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution charges."Obviously he must have hit one too many people as a linebacker, because his brain cells are scrambled," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said about Taylor, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The Florida Department of Children and Families immediately took custody of the child. In total, 141 people were charged with soliciting prostitutes, 93 were charged with offering to commit prostitution, and another 10 were charged with crimes such as aiding and abetting or transporting prostitutes. Furthermore, an additional 11 suspects were charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex or other child sex crimes.Four people were identified as possible victims of human trafficking, while 36 of those arrested were illegal immigrants.Offenders came from states all across the country, including Connecticut, Illinois, and New Jersey, while at least one person came from Brazil.RELATED: LA Chargers rep shuts down CNN after outlet asks if animated promos are going 'too far': It's okay to 'make a joke' Photo by: 2019 Nick Cammett/Diamond Images via Getty ImagesSheriff Judd praised ICE and revealed that the Trump administration now allows his department to work alongside the federal agency."There's been a change of administration … and now we are allowed to have ICE with us," Judd said. Exposed: China-funded NGO accused of helping illegal aliens evade ICE — congressional investigation continues

China-linked sources have allegedly funded a nongovernmental organization that was accused of instructing illegal aliens on how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, according to a Tuesday report.A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered that Chinese government sources bankrolled the Chinese-American Planning Council, a nonprofit group founded in 1965. According to the organization's website, it is dedicated to promoting "the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities."'ICE's efforts to enforce our immigration laws and remove illegal aliens from the country is the latest far-left cause that they appear to be exploiting in this effort.'However, the NGO has previously been accused of helping illegal aliens evade immigration authorities and facilitating unlawful immigration with federal funding. In April, Muckraker exposed footage that purportedly showed Carlyn Cowen, the CPC's chief policy and public affairs officer, explaining how to avoid ICE agents."In the restaurant that I work at on the weekend, what we train everybody to do is if we see ICE come to the door, we actually enter a button in our [point of sale] system that says 'la migra,' and you click it, and then it prints a ticket to everywhere else in the restaurant so that everybody knows," she stated, according to the undercover video. "No matter what kind of organization or business that you're in, we have a few ways that you can get ready."In the recording, Cowen rattled off a list of methods to avoid ICE, including "hardening your physical space," "identifying individuals that are authorized to respond if ICE comes to the door," and "having a clear protocol."RELATED: Oversight Project exposes Democrat-aligned NGO's 'conspiracy' to undermine immigration enforcementRELATED: 'There are Chinese spies at Stanford': Shocking report unmasks CCP's espionage at American universities Photographer: Christopher Dilts/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesThe House Homeland Security Committee, led by Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.), responded to the leaked video by launching an investigation into CPC. According to the committee, 55% of the organization's revenue comes from federal and state government grants.CPC has maintained that it "fully adheres to all laws.""Our trainings do not direct anyone to do anything or to evade the law, but rather to inform participants of their constitutional rights, which they may choose to exercise," Alice Du, CPC's director of communications, told Documented. According to the DCNF's report, the CPC has received up to $445,969 in donations since 2018 from sources linked to the Chinese government. These funds reportedly included nearly $10,000 in 2020 and up to that amount again in 2024 from the government-run Bank of China. The investigation found that the Commercial Bank of China, also state-owned, donated a total of nearly $20,000 to the NGO from 2018 to 2023.Additionally, the CPC reportedly receives yearly donations from the Bank of East Asia, based in Hong Kong, totaling up to $45,000 since 2018. The DCNF's report noted that two of the institution's leaders have served as delegates for the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a political advisory body for the Chinese Communist Party. The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, a nonprofit and New York City-based health center, provided the CPC with as much as $229,993 since 2018.Charles B. Wang, one of the health center's major donors, has "frequently met with CCP influence and intel leaders in China," the DCNF reported based on media reports. Despite receiving nearly $700,000 since 2009 from the Charles B. Wang International Foundation, a spokesperson for the health center told the news outlet that it is not tied to Wang's "associations with his other philanthropic efforts across the world."The CPC did not respond to requests for comment from the DCNF.The investigation's findings further raise concerns about China's threat to U.S. national security. Ira Mehlman, media director at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told Blaze News, "It has been pretty clear for some time that fomenting social unrest and division in the United States has been the aim of the Chinese government."Mehlman explained that the Chinese government has been funding "a network of groups" based in the U.S. "ICE's efforts to enforce our immigration laws and remove illegal aliens from the country is the latest far-left cause that they appear to be exploiting in this effort," he said. Mehlman suggested thoroughly reviewing visas and NGO funding sources to reduce foreign influences."To the extent that the government can identify foreign nationals, be they Chinese or other, who are here under false pretenses as students or who have misrepresented their intentions on other types of visa applications, those visas should continue to be revoked, and the individuals expelled," he explained. "Outside the scope of immigration policies, the government also needs to look into the funding sources for these groups and take appropriate action if these groups are acting on behalf of foreign governments."President Donald Trump's administration has been implementing similar measures to reduce foreign influence and address the broader issues of illegal immigration. Attorney General Pam Bondi previously instructed the Department of Justice to investigate NGOs receiving federal funding. The New York Post reported that the Department of State revoked 4,000 foreign student visas over the first 100 days of Trump's second term. Like Blaze News?
