Brianna Chickenfry Slams Zach Bryan On ‘Special Forces’ Reality Show: “He Got Famous On TikTok & Thinks He’s God”

Raw emotion coming from Brianna Chickenfy. I know you all probably clicked on this blog thinking it’s going to be another post that makes you think “oh god here we go again,” when it comes to Brianna Chickenfry speaking about her ex-boyfriend. And I think we can collectively agree that we’ve all heard way more than we wanted to about the seemingly never-ending Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) and Zach Bryan drama. Brianna, his ex-girlfriend, made headlines when they broke up after she claimed he offered her $12 million to sign an NDA so she couldn’t expose anything that didn’t paint him in a positive light. Obviously, she didn’t take it, because she’s spoken quite a bit about their relationship and what she paints as a pattern of emotionally abusive behavior from the country star. While Brianna has gotten herself some backlash in the year after their breakup for her outspoken point of view on the allegedly abusive relationship, we recently see a softer, and in my opinion, more genuine side of Chickenfry in the most recent episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. At the start of the episode that aired last night, October 9, Brianna Chickenfry shares that she’s competing on the grueling reality TV show because of the trauma she endured in her relationship. She’s doing this challenge to prove that she’s strong and to take the power back. “I’m doing the course because I’ve had a really tough year. I was in a very public relationship. It ended really badly. I don’t really know exactly who I am, and it will teach me a lot about myself.” In the episode’s challenge, contestants were taken into an urban war-zone simulation and tasked with saving fallen soldiers. It was their responsibility to remove the soldier safely from the war zone. The simulation showed the stress of being in that environment and how fatigue and other factors push you to the limit as a team player. While Chickenfry was in the simulation, part of her confessional clip shared more about her relationship: “Over the past couple of years, I wasn’t allowed to be me. From what I’ve experienced, I think women get steamrolled a lot, and they get put in corners. I used to be very strong. I don’t want to give anyone power over me. I really want to take control, and if I make it, it’s because I did it.” Sadly, Brianna Chickenfry and her team failed the challenge, but they were not the only team to do so. Many groups that went through the simulation failed the test. After the challenge, she opened up more about her past relationship with Bryan in another confessional clip: “I met my ex-boyfriend through Instagram DMs, like any regular person nowadays would. It was a very fast-moving relationship where I should have seen a lot of red flags, but I was blinded by a lot of things. My ex is a super famous musician.” In the care after the challenge, her teammate and Sister Wives star Cody Brown asked who her ex-boyfriend was, to which Brianna shared that it was the famed singer Zach Bryan. “He was awful towards me… He got famous on TikTok and thinks he’s God.” In another scene from last night’s episode, Chickenfy is having a conversation with a Directing Staff (DS) member, when he asks why she was there and why she was getting emotional during the interview, LaPaglia revealed: “I think I’m here to not give up. I think I kind of gave up on myself last year, just mentally… I was in a bad relationship. It was like a public relationship with a famous person, and it was just like I would leave my house with a smile, but nobody knew what was happening. I was in a bad spot. I lost sight of myself, and I just didn’t want to be here anymore. I was just a dark hole I had to climb out of. He offered me $12.9 million to sign away my voice.” She said, referencing her claim that Zach Bryan offered her $12 million in exchange for her signing an NDA. After her interview with DS, the two agents sympathized with Chickenfry, noting that they could not imagine their two daughters experiencing what they had just heard from her. In another confessional clip, she added: “The people that followed me through this relationship watched me turn into just like a shell of a human. I just couldn’t let someone control how I feel and how I act anymore. In me not taking that money, I took control of myself back.” Say what you want about Brianna and her milking this situation, however, I have to admit this feels like genuine, raw emotion from the Barstool Sports personality. I’m sure this will not be the last time that we will hear Chickenfry talk about Zach Bryan. Still, it’s nice to listen to her speak from the heart about the struggles she went through while healing from her past relationship instead of playing into online hate thrown his way… but healing looks different for everyone, so who’s to say that her participating in that commentary isn’t healing as well. Southall Teams Up With Some Familiar Faces To Celebrate 10 Years Of The Project That Started It All – ‘The Six String Sorrow Sessions’

Southall is one of the best country leaning rock and roll bands in the business these days, and this year marks 10 years of the songs that started it all. Forming in Stillwater, OK as Read Southall Band in 2016, before ultimately shortening the moniker to Southall in 2025, the band has amasses a strong, dedicated following over the years by touring hard and releasing great music that people everywhere can relate to. But before they were selling out venues left and right with their unique brand of face-melting Red Dirt rock and roll, frontman Read Southall was making music on his own. Released in 2015, Southall’s solo record Six String Sorrow is a gritty, largely acoustic record featuring 9-tracks that are as raw and real as it gets. From tales of heartbreak to Keystone Light anthems, the album was simple, but Read’s edgy vocals and impressive lyricism struck a chord that resonated with college kids and young adults everywhere. Needing a band to back him so he could play these tracks at more live gigs, Southall formed the band, and the rest is history. Now, 10 years later, the internationally touring and critically acclaimed band has revisited these songs that ignited the flame with a spectacular 7-track album titled The Six String Sorrow Sessions. But instead of just making the sound bigger and better with the full band on the recording, they opted to employ the talents of some of their buddies in the scene as features. And the list is star-studded. From relatively newer acts like Hudson Westbrook, Sam Canty of Treaty Oak Revival, and their fellow Oklahoman Josh Meloy, to living legend John Jeffers of Whiskey Myers, to the international rockstar and longtime collaborator Koe Wetzel, the Southall boys arranged for some pretty sweet collaboration to commemorate some of the most classic tracks within their catalog. These songs defined an era in Red Dirt music, and whether you were turning the volume up on them back then, or you’re just discovering them now, you need to hear what Southall has done to reimagine them. Check out a few tracks from The Six Strings Sorrow Sessions here: “Gunshy – Rerecorded” ft. Koe Wetzel “Own Worst Enemy – Rerecorded” – Rerecorded” “Aero-Plane – Rerecorded” ft. Josh Meloy “Daddy’s Hand – Rerecorded” ft. John Jeffers (Whiskey Myers) “Moon and Back – Rerecorded” ft. Sam Canty (Treaty Oak Revival) It just doesn’t get much better than that. Unless you’re hearing these songs live, of course, and there are plenty of opportunities left to make that happen by year end. Kenny Chesney Leaves Megan Moroney Speechless With Thoughtful Birthday Gift: “This Is The Best Birthday Ever”

How do you not love their friendship? Last summer, Megan Moroney and Kenny Chesney formed a sweet friendship and mentorship while she supported him on the Sun Goes Down stadium tour. The tour was filled with memories, good times, and growth, and served as a transformative experience for Moroney. After the tour, Chesney and Moroney stayed close, and she frequently goes to the tropics with him to write. Moroney also noted how incredible it was to learn from the country music veteran and took home many notes on how he’s kept his fan base so engaged over the years. “I would say just really making it for the fans. You know, his live show is really a celebration of No Shoes Nation, and that’s how I want my shows to feel.” Since the two have remained close, even releasing music together, Chesney showed how much he values Moroney with a recent gift he gave her. Yesterday, October 9th, was Megan Moroney’s birthday (along with Gavin Adcock), and she did a pajama party dinner to celebrate the start of her 28th year around the sun. Moroney joked that since she plays dress-up all the time for her birthday, she wanted to dress down and keep the theme of her celebration cozy and comfy (however, the heels she’s sporting in the TikTok showing off her outfit look far from comfortable). @megmoroneyone of my better ideas me think♬ Who’s Your Daddy? – Megan Moroney After dinner, Moroney hopped back online to share with fans that she was stunned by a gift one of the attendants of her birthday dinner gave her. The one and only Kenny Chesney gifted Moroney with a vintage Gibson guitar… but it’s not just any vintage Gibson guitar. “Let me just wipe off the camera here, this is a really important video. So guys! Guys, it’s my 28th birthday, and Kenny… (waves Kenny in frame) Kenny got me a gift, and at first I’m like ‘Oh my gosh, what a beautiful guitar.’  And what it’s…1894, no, it’s 1984. It’s about to disintegrate.”  Moroney laughs as she severely messed up the year the guitar was made. “It’s from 1984. I’ve been wanting a vintage Gibson, so I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is such an amazing present. Thank you so much, Kenny.’ And then he told me to turn it around. This says, ‘To Megan, love Dolly Parton.’ And I… I’m speechless. This is a thank you to Kenny for this and a thank you to Dolly Parton herself.  I don’t have much words and I’m not sure… So this is the best birthday ever!” I’d be speechless getting a signed guitar from Miss Dolly, too! This gift is beyond thoughtful and shows how much Chesney adores Moroney as a human and musician. Happy belated Birthday, Megan Moroney. @megmoroney I have no words @Kenny Chesney @Dolly Parton ♬ You Had To Be There – Megan Moroney & Kenny Chesney The post Kenny Chesney Leaves Megan Moroney Speechless With Thoughtful Birthday Gift: “This Is The Best Birthday Ever” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Joe Nichols Recalls Dierks Bentley “Sweating” As Merle Haggard Smoked A TON On His Leased Tour Bus: “There’s Nothing We Can Do About This”

Joe Nichols Recalls Dierks Bentley “Sweating” As Merle Haggard Smoked A TON On His Leased Tour Bus: “There’s Nothing We Can Do About This”

A CLASSIC Merle story. You probably recognize Joe Nichols’ name from some of his early 2000s hits like “Brokenheartsville,” “She Only Smokes When She Drinks” and “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” and he’s continued to put out great music over the years, although it’s unlikely you’ll hear his newer stuff on the radio these days. And that’s more than alright with him… Joe appeared on the Drifting Cowboy Podcast this week, where he talked about getting his start in country music, how he got some of his early record deals, and what it was like being a struggling artist in Nashville. He also told some fascinating stories about keeping his faith in the music business and getting sober, but possibly the funniest one involved the late, great Merle Haggard. Nichols recalled playing a show with Dierks Bentley, who was the only one there that day that had a tour bus. Merle and Nichols were staying at a hotel after flying in, and some of the others had driven there, so Dierks invited them to come hang out on his bus before the concert started. Prior to that, Merle and Nichols had been listening to music in Merle’s car, which was an insane experience in and of itself, I’m sure: “His tour manager came and knocked on the window, the only guy there who had a bus there at this event was Dierks Bentley. You know, I flew out and I was at the hotel, and several of the guys drove down and everything, and so Dierks was actually out there touring in California. So Frank, Merle’s tour manager, said ‘Dierks has invited everybody to come hang on his bus.’ So we’re not out here just kind of meandering around, but this is before the show. We’re like yeah, let’s go hang out with Dierks. I knew Dierks a little bit.” They went onto the bus, and Nichols recalled Merle walking in “like he owned the place,” finding a spot to sit right in the captain’s chair. They listened to him tell some amazing stories, but at one point, Merle whipped out a Crown Royal bag (you know, those purple drawstring bags) full of weed out of one pocket and a pipe out of the other, and there was one small problem… at this time, Dierks was leasing his bus, so you weren’t supposed to have anything like that on it or they would charge a lot in cleaning fees: “Merle, me, Ray Benson, we all climb up on Dierks’ bus, and Merle just went straight for the captain‘s chair. Went straight over to the table like he owned the place. And me and Dierks are kind of the new kids, and we just sat in the front lounge like a couple of toddlers. And Merle sat down and Ray sat down, and Ray’s 6’8” or something, and they started talking about this and that, Bob Wills. And Merle pulls out of his pocket this big Crown Royal bag, full of weed. A big like that, I’m like, wow. I didn’t think you could do that. And then out of this pocket, he pulls out this big pipe and he just started packing this pipe right there as he’s telling stories. And at that time, Dierks was leasing his bus, and you’re not allowed to have any of that stuff on a bus when you lease. They’ll fine you for all the cleaning and everything like that.” Of course, Dierks starts sweating a little bit, trying to think of a way to tell the living legend himself Merle Haggard he couldn’t do that… obviously, neither one of them ended up saying anything, because who is going to tell Merle he can’t smoke weed on a tour bus? Yeah, no one…. So Dierks took the L that day, and Nichols says they were both “extremely stoned” and really had no idea how they were going to play a show: “So Merle lights this big pipe up, smoke is going everywhere, and Dierks has kind of got sweat coming down his brow. How do I tell him, you know, ‘hey, can you not do that?’ Just let it go. There’s nothing we can do about this. It was awesome. We sat there and listened to some amazing stories, and got extremely stoned just sitting in the room. We were like, oh no, we’ve gotta we gotta go play a show and they’re just gonna have fun. And we’re over here like, am I talking? Am I Okay? Now we get to go onstage. But that was a fun deal, man. What a night that was.” I mean, those cleaning fees can get pricey real quick, but I think they made the right call and it certainly made for a great story so many years later. You can watch Joe tell the full story below, it’s a great one: The post Joe Nichols Recalls Dierks Bentley “Sweating” As Merle Haggard Smoked A TON On His Leased Tour Bus: “There’s Nothing We Can Do About This” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Benjamin Tod And Matt Heckler Team Up For Two New Singles That Are As Country As It Gets

It doesn’t get much more country than this. If we’re being honest, I don’t know what constitutes “real” country these days. But if somebody were to ask me for some artists out there that are keeping the tradition and sound alive, Benjamin Tod is towards the top of that list, and Matt Heckler definitely deserves a mention, too. Proving to be about as prolific as it gets, between his solo work and fronting Lost Dog Street Band, Tod released two albums in 2024 before dropping a live album and a slew of singles so far this year. But he’s showing no signs of letting up, and neither is Matt Heckler. Following a spectacular album release earlier this year with No More For To Roam, Heckler clearly still had some gas left in the tank for a meeting of the minds with Tod, and the result is fantastic. Each having settled down a bit by this point in their lives, after years of hard-living and traveling have taken their toll, both artists are heavily inspired by their life experiences and the ways those have influenced how they see the rest of the world. A couple of guys that can relate to one another in a way many others can not, these songs mark the first co-writes of Heckler’s career, a notion that is an extremely rare phenomenon within Tod’s catalog as well. But this might be a sign they need to do write with another more often. The first of the two singles, “Kentucky Coal,” is a straightforward yet poignant ode to the coal-mining industry that has been so prominent throughout Kentucky’s history, and a harrowing example of the impact the coal miner’s lifestyle can have on someone. Despite being born in Tennessee, Tod and his wife Ashley Mae currently reside in Muhlenberg County, KY, where the presence of mining still permeates the landscape. Coming together in just a matter of 20 minutes or so, “Kentucky Coal” seems to be one of those songs that was just meant to be, and the harmonies between this dynamic duo are impeccable as well. In addition to “Kentucky Coal,” the duo of Tod and Heckler teamed up to release an accompanying single titled “Cry You A River,” that might be even better, believe it or not. An homage of sorts to John Prine and the Muhlenberg County land on which “Paradise” was inspired and Tod now resides, “Cry You A River” draws on Prine’s reference to “an abandoned old prison down by Airdrie Hill,” and reimagines what these artists think it would have been like to be a prisoner in the area back in the day. It doesn’t get much more country than these two tracks. If you like what you’re hearing, make sure to check out Tod’s other recent release, a cover of Waylon Jennings’ “Outlaw Sh*t” that features Shooter Jennings himself. And give Matt Heckler’s last album No More For To Roam a listen while you’re at it as well. You definitely won’t regret it. Here is one of my favorites to get you started: The post Benjamin Tod And Matt Heckler Team Up For Two New Singles That Are As Country As It Gets first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
