Is It Time to Dox Hakeem Jeffries’s Security?

What goes round comes round? House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has recently made headlines like this one from Lifezette: “Hakeem Jeffries Threatens to Dox ICE Agents Amid Rising Attacks, Death Threats.” (RELATED: The True Depths of Democrats’ Bankruptcy) The story reports: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) sparked controversy Thursday after pledging to publicly identify Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents involved in deportation operations, even as agents continue to face an increase in violent threats and doxing. Speaking at a press conference in Washington, Jeffries criticized what he described as federal immigration “overreach” and warned that ICE agents who conceal their identities while conducting raids would be exposed. “Every single ICE agent who’s engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people will be unsuccessful in doing that,” Jeffries said. Well now. Jeffries raises, apparently unknowingly, an all too obvious question. Which would be? If it’s OK to demand that ICE agents have their identities revealed, why stop there? If doxing ICE agents is now OK, it would seem that in the spirit of fair play and equal treatment it is time to recall that Jeffries himself, along with the entire congressional leadership of both parties, not to mention the Capitol building itself, receives protection from federal agents — aka the United States Capitol Police. (RELATED: Taking It to the Streets … Democrats Finally Revert to Vindictive Form) And this being the case, to follow the Jeffries security demand, Jeffries’s own security force should be doxed. The names of all U.S. Capitol Police made public. Published regularly in press releases from Jeffries himself, notifying the public whenever there are changes in personnel. Will this happen? Of course not. Nor should it ever be done. But the harsh reality here is that this would not be done because this would be dangerous to Jeffries’s security and the Capitol police. It will not happen because Jeffries is not about maintaining law and order. He is about double standards to serve his political needs. Even if that puts the lives of those federal ICE agents at risk. In Jeffries’s worldview view it is perfectly OK to dox the federal ICE agents. It is decidedly not OK to treat the police assigned to protect Jeffries himself, his colleagues who are members of Congress, and the Capitol complex staff in exactly the same fashion. Will this double standard change? Don’t bet on it. Safe to say, Congressman Jeffries simply doesn’t care — as long as he and his own security are safely protected. The Jeffries campaign to dox ICE agents is not only shameful — it is dangerous. And it should be halted immediately. The Terrorists/Journalists of Gaza

The Terrorists/Journalists of Gaza

Last week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed two Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza: Suleiman Hani Saliman Hajaj, the deputy commander of an engineering cell, and Samir al-Rifai. What is notable about these assassinations is that the targets were killed while committing a double war crime: 1) operating in the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City and 2) posing as journalists. While groups like UNESCO, Pulitzer, the International Press Institute, and Reach All Women in War are giving awards to Gazan journalists en masse, terrorists continue to pose as journalists in Gaza. Not long ago, the IDF uncovered documents in Gaza proving that six “journalists” who worked with Al-Jazeera — Ismail Abu Omar, Talal al-Arrouqi, Ashraf al-Sarraj, Anas al-Sharif, Alaa Salameh, and Hossam Shabat — had ties to either Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad. According to the IDF, as reported in the Israeli press, these documents in Arabic show “personnel spreadsheets, lists of training courses, telephone books and salary documents,” and “unequivocally prove” their ties to the terrorist groups. Those six terrorists/Al-Jazeera journalists are/were: Ismail Abu Omar Ismail Abu Omar was a deputy commander of Hamas’s Khan Yunis East Brigade. Posing as a journalist, he joined the invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023. In a video, Abu Omar documents his own editorializing of the attack in real time: “There is a battle underway, gunfire zero distance from the area of Nir Oz, between jihad fighters and the resistance and the occupation soldiers. God willing, the guys are making progress.” Abu Omar’s work has been featured in AP, the New York Times, and Reuters. The IDF wounded him during their attack on Rafah, and Al-Jazeera reported that after this, Abu Omar was evacuated to Qatar for medical treatment. He was reportedly visited at his hospital bedside by the chairman of the board of directors of Al-Jazeera. Talal al-Arrouqi Talal al-Arrouqi was a commander in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion, and also worked for Al-Jazeera. Several screen captures of his X account on October 7-10, 2023, show him glorifying the October 7 attacks on Israel, including comments like “With parachutes, teacher, God is great and praise be to God,” and “500 pigs were killed according to their sources.” [The author assumes from looking through public sources that al-Arrouqi remains alive in Gaza.]  Ashraf al-Sarraj Ashraf al-Sarraj served in Islamic Jihad’s Bureij Battalion, and also worked for Al-Jazeera. He posted a 13-minute video praising the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel on that same day. He praised the late senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri, stating in a post on X that “Our pride fills the West Bank and its alleys because of what you do and the bravery you show.” He also extensively praised, on X, the Islamic Jihad chief Ziyad al-Nakhalah. [The author assumes from looking through public sources that al-Sarraj remains alive in Gaza.] Anas al-Sharif Al-Sharif served in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion and was also a member of a Hamas rocket-launching squad. According to an interview with the IDF, al-Sharif admitted that he had previously joined Hamas’s al-Qasam Brigades in 2021. He further admitted to the IDF that he worked as a “cleaning supervisor” at Kamal Adwan Hospital, where he was arrested. Another source claims that al-Sharif had been hiding at one point in the Indonesian Hospital. So, al-Sharif appears to be a terrorist operative who embedded himself in at least two civilian hospitals. In his interview with the IDF, al-Sharif stated that both Hamas and Islamic Jihad had operatives in Kamal Adwan Hospital transporting weapons, and using the hospital for “observation and patrols.” Al-Sharif was reportedly close to Fathi Hammad, a member of Hamas’s Political Bureau, and al-Sharif even hosted Hammad at his home. There are also photos online showing al-Sharif posing with Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahar, and the late leader of Hamas and the architect of the Oct. 7 attack, Yahya Sinwar. Al-Sharif’s Telegram features ample Hamas propaganda. In his double life as a journalist, al-Sharif worked for Al-Jazeera and received the Best Young Journalist Award in Palestine in 2018. Alaa Salameh Alaa Salameh was the deputy of the Islamic Jihad’s Shaboura Battalion’s propaganda unit. As a “journalist,” Salameh worked not only for Al-Jazeera, but he was also a propagandist for Islamic Jihad’s media. In one clip, he can be seen interviewing a Gazan child, asking him if he is ready “[f]or the war we will fight with the Jews and to kill all the Jews.” Salameh was also interviewed by the newspaper of the United Kingdom’s Socialist Workers Party. [The author assumes from looking through public sources that Salameh remains alive in Gaza.] Hossam Shabat Hossam Shabat was reportedly killed by the IDF in March 2025 in an airstrike on his car in Northern Gaza. According to the IDF, Shabat was a sniper in Hamas’s Beit Hanoun Battalion and participated in attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians alike. He also worked for Al-Jazeera. In addition to the above terrorists unmasked by the IDF, additional terrorists/journalists in Gaza included: Ismail al-Ghoul In July 2024, the IDF killed Ismail al-Ghoul as he was embedded with civilians in the Shati Refugee Camp near Gaza City. According to the documents taken from Gaza by the IDF, al-Ghoul was an engineer for Hamas. He was also a journalist for Al-Jazeera. Abdallah Aljamal In June 2024, the IDF killed Abdallah Aljamal, a Hamas spokesman/journalist, and kidnapper of Israeli hostages Almog Meir Jan, Andri Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv. Aljamal had written for Al-Jazeera, and more extensively, the Palestine Chronicle. Mohamed Washah Mohamed Washah, according to images and documents found in his personal laptop recovered by the IDF in Gaza, was a commander of a Hamas anti-armor missile systems division and also worked in Hamas’s air unit. Images from the laptop include Washah operating anti-tank missiles and working with a drone. Additionally, in January 2024, in Rafah, the IDF killed two journalists (Hamza Wael Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuria) who had worked for Al-Jazeera as they were in the same car as a terror operative. Last week’s assassinations by the IDF of terrorists masquerading as journalists should come as no surprise, given the extent to which Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad embed themselves within Gaza’s civilian population. In particular, these terrorist groups have consistently fielded terrorists who happen to have double lives as journalists. With these professional masks, terrorist groups in Gaza are able to dupe the world that Israel is targeting journalists. Georgia’s Effort to Protect Children on Social Media

Georgia’s Effort to Protect Children on Social Media

As a father of five at 55, I can’t afford to ignore the societal scourge of cyberbullying. My kids haven’t yet reached the age where they can use social media, but that didn’t prevent me from encountering the issue way too early. A few weeks ago, my wife summoned me to intervene when she caught an older kid from the neighborhood chasing my 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter down the street with a cellphone in hand, capturing video footage of them for a live platform to amuse his virtual community. When confronted, he couldn’t understand for the life of him what he had done wrong. He’s a good kid, and apparently, this is the way good kids have fun. The nonchalance with which this and similar incidents have been shrugged off by parents — let alone their children — convinces me that legislators could not help but take action as they have done in my home state of Georgia. It remains to be seen how adult entertainment companies will react to Georgia’s SB 351 and how the law will be enforced by local authorities. On July 1st, the “Protecting Georgia’s Children on Social Media Act” (SB 351), signed by Governor Brian Kemp in April, will take effect. The law is intended to promote the “safe and appropriate” use of technology, especially for young people. The measure requires local school boards, with the assistance of the State Attorney General and the Department of Education, to “adopt, implement, and enforce” social media policies. It also requires social media platforms to provide information to parents upon request, and for websites with “a substantial portion of material that is harmful to minors” to use age verification systems, such as the submission of a government ID. (RELATED: Conservatives Should Safeguard Kids From Social Media) You can see where this is going. The Free Speech Coalition, which defines itself as “the nonprofit non-partisan trade association for the adult industry,” is not happy with the law. They are engaged in several legal battles at the state level to defend their perverted clientele. Their mission “is to protect the rights and freedoms of the adult industry,” and SB 351 certainly threatens to impinge on those rights and freedoms. Among the Coalition’s more recent endeavors is to assist in the defense against a private lawsuit in Kansas that alleges a minor gained access to pornographic material since the websites did not employ “commercially reasonable” age-verification protocols. Georgia will join several states next month in requiring such protocols. Aside from the viability of lawsuits such as that brought on in Kansas, the effectiveness of these age-verification protocols is highly questionable. In some cases, pornography providers do not want to wait around to find out how well they work, so they simply pull their services from geographical areas where they are liable for verification. PornHub, for example, decided to pull its services completely from France after the nation enacted age verification laws. (RELATED: Free Speech Coalition, Inc. v. Paxton: Porn Doesn’t Have to Be ‘Inevitable’) The country’s communications regulator, Arcom, noted in a statement that Aylo, another adult entertainment company, had chosen to “shirk the requirement of protecting minors … by suspending access to its content in France, including for adults.” That action was apparently much easier than constantly monitoring user-uploaded content on Aylo’s site, which did not sufficiently employ age verification requirements. It remains to be seen how adult entertainment companies will react to Georgia’s SB 351 and how the law will be enforced by local authorities. Nevertheless, come fall, the law’s impact on schools will be immediate and apparent. Given the broadness of “material that is harmful to minors,” local school boards should feel free to be as stringent as they want. The bill defines such material as that “which the average person, applying contemporary community standards, would find, taking the material as a whole and with respect to minors, is designed to appeal to, or is designed to pander to, prurient interest (‘prurient” being material that has or encourages ‘an excessive interest in sexual matters’).” This is the moment for local communities to step up and for local school boards to take control. Be assured, however, that the Free Speech Coalition and similar advocacy groups will be no less active at the local level than they have been on the state and national levels. (RELATED: At the Supreme Court, Porn Should Lose So Free Speech Can Win) Social Media in the Home The battle is on, but it cannot be fought on a single front. It’s a battle that, first and foremost, must take place within the walls of homes where parents can monitor, place restrictions, and block material as much as possible. As children grow into adolescents, the harm of cyberbullying and pornography is not the sort of issue you wait for your child to bring to you. As sad as it is, my wife and I were forced to broach the topic with them much earlier than we had wished. We had to hammer out a way of explaining to our children that they were right to feel so uncomfortable with a neighborhood boy running after them, taking a video of their frightened faces, and sharing it on his social media site. As I say, my kids are still too young to have cellphones and use social media, but their friends are old enough to check their cellphones at the front door whenever they enter our home. We parents also have to be humble enough to admit that our children can be lured into cyberbullying as easily as the next child. The good kid in our neighborhood saw no reason to hide his pursuit of our two younger kids from the full view of my wife. Any of his friends would have done the same. In a few years, my son could easily be on the other side of the camera, bullying his own little sister and her friends. I know that sounds insane, but recognizing how commonplace the insanity has become is our first step toward sanity. Measures like Georgia’s SB 351 will certainly help, but they are far from capable of solving the problem alone. READ MORE from Daniel B. Tariff Pressure Yields Results as Beijing Reengages in Trade Talks

China and the United States have resumed trade discussions following several months of disputes over tariff policy. Though disagreements remain, the two nations are seeking solutions following the reescalation of tensions.   A May 12 truce paused the trade war for 90 days, but both nations have accused the other of violating the terms of this peace. The U.S. has alleged that China is slow-walking vital minerals, and China has accused the United States of restricting chip exports and Chinese student visas.  Now, however, the two countries are seeking to cooperate on rare earth minerals, semiconductors, and increased exports. This signals a significant victory for the United States as a result of harsh tariff policies.  The meetings, which began on Monday in London, were prompted by a phone call between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump posted on Truth Social regarding the hour-and-a-half phone call, stating that the two discussed “some of the intricacies of our recently made, and agreed to, Trade Deal” and that the call “resulted in a very positive conclusion for both Countries.” A hopeful deal on rare earth minerals, which are key to the auto industry, will be highlighted by the U.S. in these negotiations. Chinese officials may seek loosened restrictions on U.S.-dominated ethane gas, which is critical to China’s production of plastic.  While Trump and Xi are expected to meet at some point in the future, this initial negotiation was held by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. The meeting was to be held with China’s vice premier and main trade official, He Lifeng.  President Trump’s intent behind the trade war remains vitally important, as American manufacturers and consumers have been absorbing many of the costs. Tariffs, when they bring China to the table rather than beating them over the head, produce positive outcomes in negotiation and trade.  When trade hostility is utilized only as an incentive to join the negotiating table, American markets can rest easier, and U.S.–China relations will become less bitter. If, however, tariffs are the goal in and of themselves, costs may be passed on to consumers and producers with no end in sight. While trade disputes are far from resolved, the meeting signals a de-escalation in tensions between the world’s two largest economies.   READ MORE from Andrew Gondy: Trump Administration Hits New Roadblocks in Clash With Harvard University Iranian Hostility Increases Despite Limited Negotiating Power The post Tariff Pressure Yields Results as Beijing Reengages in Trade Talks appeared first on The American Spectator | USA News and Politics.

Multiple Fatalities After Small Plane Crashes Into Ocean Near San Diego

Six people died after a small plane crashed Sunday into the ocean near San Diego. The Federal Aviation Administration said a twin-engine Cessna 414 crashed shortly after takeoff. BREAKING: A plane carrying six people has crashed in the Pacific Ocean off San Diego. https://t.co/0E5hHfh3Ni — The Associated Press (@AP) June 9, 2025 Per NBC San Diego: The twin-engine Cessna 414 crashed at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the FAA said. The plane was returning to Phoenix one day after flying out from Arizona, according to the flight tracking website Flightaware.com. The Coast Guard said searchers found a debris field later Sunday about 5 miles (8 kilometers) off the coast of Point Loma, a San Diego neighborhood that juts into the Pacific, U.S. Coast Guard officials. The water in the search area is about 200 feet (61 meters) deep. According to his sister, the pilot’s name was Landon Baldwin, a resident of Safford, Arizona. Baldwin’s wife, Torrie, was among the five passengers, the sister said. The couple were the parents of two small children. According to published reports, a male passenger was also on the aircraft with his three children. “Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!” the pilot reportedly was heard saying on an air traffic control audio recording minutes after takeoff. ‘Mayday, mayday’: Pilot reported problems before plane crashed off San Diego coasthttps://t.co/6kfZ4x1Cq4 — The San Diego Union-Tribune (@sdut) June 10, 2025 CNN reports: An urgent exchange is heard on the audiotape as the pilot tells an air traffic controller he is struggling to maintain a heading. “What seems to be the issue?” the air traffic controller can be heard asking “Just struggling right now to maintain heading … and climb,” the pilot replied. The controller from the Southern California Terminal Radar Approach Control advised the pilot to land at nearby Naval Air Station North Island. Flight tracking data shows the plane taking off at 12:25 p.m. local time bound for Phoenix. In the five minutes that followed, the plane reached a maximum altitude of only 2,100 feet before making two turns to the left, according to open-source data from ADS-B Exchange. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
