In the age of social media, it’s easy to watch a high-profile figure double or triple down on a bad idea. And former ESPN personality Jemele Hill provides frequent examples. Most recently, she took aim at Giants QB Jaxson Dart for merely introducing President Donald Trump at a recent event.  But when teammate Abdul Carter shot back with a sharp critique of Dart’s decision, Hill was quick to defend his politically charged interjection. As Fox News reported: “Thought this s—t was AI, what we doing man,” Carter wrote. Any honest observer can see the situation for what it is: A player introduced the president at an event in the city where he plays, and one of his teammates publicly criticized him for it. Yet Jemele Hill somehow turned the episode into something else entirely. On Saturday, Hill defended Carter after former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes explained why publicly targeting a teammate is frowned upon inside an NFL locker room. “The locker room is a sacred place because it brings together everyone from all walks of life and beliefs for one common goal,” Tynes posted on X. “Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work.” Hill responded by framing Tynes’ comment as an attempt to silence Carter. “So Jaxson Dart gets to publicly express his political beliefs, but Abdul Carter doesn’t? If this is about locker room sanctity and leadership, is it a good idea for the face of the franchise to attend a political rally for a president that is considered to be hugely divisive?” Hill asked. According to Yahoo Sports: The outrage is, in part, due to a recording of Wallen using the n-word that surfaced in 2021. Many feel that Clark, being a star in the WNBA, a league comprised and built of so many black women, shouldn’t socialize with someone with Wallen’s history. Others feel that Clark should be focusing on improving her game after shooting just 2-for-9 from three in the loss. Now, longtime sports analyst and social media personality Jemele Hill is coming to Clark’s defense and warning that people should be wary of policing the company of others. “I don’t know that we want to play this game about police and people’s entertainment,” Hill said on Monday’s episode of her Flagrant and Funny Podcast with Cari Champion. “Because I’m telling you, ain’t nobody gonna hold up.” “These fans are so sensitive. They have something to say. Everyone, this generation of I have a thought and it’s important and it’s deep and it’s intellectual.” Champion added. As if the Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest and previous social media posts about bizarre sexual desires weren’t enough, US Senate candidate Graham Platner recently fueled additional criticism over resurfaced remarks about a veteran wounded in action. Not only did the post, which comes from a Reddit account the Maine Democrat previously admitted was his, reportedly assert that Pfc. Ted Daniels “didn’t deserve to live,” but he shot down a recent opportunity to offer an apology. Here’s the report from Fox News:  Platner did not respond at first when asked outside a market near his home whether he regrets making the post, which Fox News Digital reported earlier this week showed him mocking a video of Pfc. Ted Daniels taken during a clash with Taliban fighters in 2012 that ended in Daniels being shot four times and being awarded a Purple Heart.  “I did four tours in the infantry, any attempt to say that I disrespect veterans is slanderous and offensive,” Platner said when asked follow-up questions about what he would say to any Maine voters who were offended by his post and if he should apologize to Daniels. “Do you think you owe him an apology?” Fox News Digital asked again. “Do you know how many of my friends have Purple Hearts, do you know how many of my friends got wounded?” Platner responded, before adding, “yeah, a lot of them, thank you.” Platner’s latest controversy has spilled over into social media comments: disgrace to the Marine Corps and his country!!! Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) are finding it more difficult to sweep the mounting scandals under the party’s rug, as WFIN reported: On his podcast, Washington-area radio host Larry O’Connor presented a mashup of Warren shouting, “my kind of man,” with narration of Platner’s uncovered foibles. “Hey Elizabeth Warren, Graham Platner says that whenever he goes into a Port-a-John, he smells the blue water in there and he has to pleasure himself — how do you respond?” “That’s my kind of man!” a clip of Warren intercedes. “Hey Elizabeth Warren, Graham Platner just said that [‘American Sniper’] Chris Kyle … is actually a psychopathic murderer…” “That’s my kind of man,” the clip replayed. “Yeah I could do this all day,” O’Connor quipped. “And I have no doubt that is in fact her kind of man.” When confronted by Fox News Digital in Washington on Wednesday, Warren smiled at the camera, said nothing, and continued walking into an office building. The eldest son of late Republican Sen. John McCain, Douglas Shepp McCain, has sadly passed away at the age of 66. Doug was adopted by McCain after his marriage to Carol Shepp in 1965. He was also a veteran who had served as a pilot in the Navy for six years. Per CBS News: He was the son of a military hero who had a long career in the Senate before his death in 2018 after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The younger McCain flew A-6 Intruders in the Navy for six years before going on to work as a pilot at American Airlines… He is survived by his wife Ashley, his two children, Caroline and Douglas, and his mother, Carol Shepp, along with his siblings and step-siblings. John McCain adopted Douglas after his marriage to Shepp in 1965. John and Shepp divorced in 1980, and he went on to marry Cindy McCain. He went to the University of Virginia (go Hoos!), where he majored in Systems Engineering, pledged SAE, participated in Navy ROTC, and luckily met his future bride, Ashley. After graduating in 1982, he joined the Navy to learn to fly. He spent six years flying A-6 Intruders before beginning a long career with American Airlines, where he excelled and found work he truly loved, especially after making captain. Doug could always be counted on to tell you what he knew and, more often than not, explain why he was right. He secretly loved his “World Book” nickname and hated that Google eventually put him out of business. He enjoyed golf and was very proud to hold the McCain family record of three holes-in-one. He was a loyal friend to many and cherished each and every friendship. He was a devoted son, a loving father to Caroline and Shepp, and most recently found great joy in being Teddy’s grandfather. Doug will be remembered for his generous heart, his loyal friendships, and his unwavering love for his family. He will be dearly missed by those close to him. This is very sad news for the family. On Thursday night, a ceremony was held for the 2026 graduating class of Memorial High School in Frisco, TX. Hunter Metcalf, the twin brother of football star Austin Metcalf who was stabbed to death by another student last year, accepted two diplomas — one for himself, and one for his brother. When he received his brother’s posthumous diploma, the crowd erupted into a standing ovation and paid tribute to the murdered teen. Austin died in his brother’s arms after allegedly being stabbed by Karmelo Anthony. Anthony faces a maximum prison sentence of 5 to 99 years. Two brothers should have walked across that stage on Thursday, then gone on to celebrate one of the most important milestones of their lives. But, sadly, that was not the case. Last spring, Austin died in Hunter’s arms after he was brutally stabbed by now-18-year-old Karmelo Anthony, whose trial is set to begin next month. The New York Post has more: The 18-year-old high school senior – who was born two minutes after his brother Austin – graduated Cum Laude, garnering a weighted GPA of 4.0 or above, according to a program viewed by The Post. The emotional pause in the ceremony came just over 13 months after Austin Metcalf was killed during a violent altercation at a high school track and field championship on April 2, 2025. Austin, a junior, was sitting in the stands of Frisco’s Kuykendall Stadium when he confronted Centennial High School senior Karmelo Anthony, who chose to sit underneath Memorial High’s tent set up in the bleachers of the venue. Austin asked Anthony to leave his school’s seating section, but his request was allegedly met with hostility, and an altercation broke out. During the altercation, Anthony allegedly pulled a knife out of his bag and stabbed Austin in the chest. The murder suspect fled the area after the stabbing, leaving Austin to die while Hunter held him in his arms. Anthony was arrested shortly after the stabbing and was charged with first-degree murder. A jury trial is scheduled to begin on June 1. If found guilty, Anthony faces a maximum prison sentence of between 5 and 99 years. Despite being treated as an adult in the case, Anthony is spared from the death penalty and even life in prison without parole, following the US Supreme Court’s ruling against convicted criminals who were 17 and under at the time of the crime. As you may know, a judge released Karmelo Anthony and put him under house arrest so he can “be with his family,” pending trial. After Austin Metcalf’s father Jeff spoke out about unfairness of it all, the corrupt judge issued a gag order. This is why none of Metcalf’s family members delivered remarks at the graduation ceremony. Karmelo Anthony was not allowed to participate at the graduation ceremony, though the school did issue him a diploma. Per People: Hunter did not speak publicly at the ceremony, nor did any other family members of Austin, WFAA reported, citing a gag order connected to the ongoing murder case, which is set to begin on June 1. Austin’s name was listed in the Memorial High School commencement ceremony program alongside his brother’s. Anthony, who was a senior at the time of the incident, graduated last year. However, he was not allowed to participate in any senior graduation activities. He was initially expelled but was later allowed to receive his diploma because he had a 3.7 GPA and completed all necessary credits, the organization Next Generation Action Network announced at the time after reaching an agreement with the Frisco Independent School District.
