This means that they were put on unpaid leave until who knows when. More than 34,000 IRS employees were given four hours to wrap up their work and go home on Wednesday. The same thing happened to employees at the Department of the Treasury. You may be tempted to celebrate this out of hatred of the IRS and you would be in good company. But remember, real people work and now you as a taxpayer will get no customer service, no call center help, no refunds processed, and no relief if you’re stuck in a dispute. You’re still expected to pay your taxes, you just can’t get any support as a taxpayer. The shut down enters week 2 today and Democrats once again refused to pass a spending bill that would re-open the government. Their holdout? They want to restore Medicaid benefits for undocumented migrants that were stripped from the Big Beautiful Bill. Citizens’ healthcare isn’t at stake — though they’re pretending it is. They also want to erase new work requirements for Medicaid, even though those requirements wouldn’t take effect for another ten years. None of this is a reasonable justification for putting working Americans out of a paycheck. This isn’t about protecting healthcare, it’s about protecting a talking point. And the irony? Roblox is full of child predators, according to a new lawsuit, and the company does not do enough to protect children. According to a lawsuit filed by the Kentucky Attorney General, the wildly popular gaming platform knowingly exposes children to predators, violent content, and sexual material while falsely advertising itself as a safe environment for kids. Roblox is primarily used by children between the ages of 9 and 12. The lawsuit accuses Roblox of violating Kentucky’s consumer protection laws by misrepresenting the platform’s safety, failing to require proper age verification, and allowing dangerous content to flourish in its so-called “experiences.” Examples include user-created games that simulate graphic violence, including so-called “assassination simulators,” one of which featured the targeting of public figures like Charlie Kirk. This is the second state to sue Roblox. Louisiana is also suing Roblox over similar claims. The company also faces several civil suits from families who say that their children were contacted by perverts on Roblox. Roblox pushed back and said that they do have “rigorous safety measures” for their 111 million daily active users and that they are “constantly innovating” more. Authorities arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht for allegedly starting the Palisades Fire. The fire killed 12 people, destroyed thousands of homes, and caused billions of dollars in damage. Based on what’s publicly available right now, it’s not entirely clear whether Jonathan Rinderknecht acted alone or if he’s just the identified arsonist tied to the ignition point. Investigators say Rinderknecht intentionally ignited a small brush fire on January 1, which smoldered underground before erupting days later into the massive inferno that dominated national headlines. Is this still the city’s fault? YES! Just days before the fires broke out of control, the National Weather Service warned of extreme fire danger due to dry winds and heat. Authorities should have been actively patrolling the area for brush fire and arson but they failed to do that. The media can be blamed too. Instead of investigating suspicious conditions, they rushed to blame “climate change.” Now, with an arrest in hand, we know the truth: it wasn’t global warming. It was criminal negligence and arson.
