Per Fox News: During his remarks, Newsom acknowledged the federal agents, saying, “Right outside at this exact moment are dozens and dozens of ICE agents.” “Do you think it’s coincidental?” he remarked. “Donald Trump and his minions, Tom Homan, tough guy. Decided, coincidentally or not, that this was a location to advance ICE arrests. Indiscriminate? Perhaps. we’ll find out later.” For some additional context, Newsom’s so-called ‘Liberation Day’ rally was meant to drum up support for his redistricting plans for California. In response to Texas’s proposed new congressional map, Newsom wants to redraw the map in his state. The Hill has more on that effort: “Wake up, America,” Newsom said at the rally, formally announcing the special election he is planning that would allow California to propose a new congressional map if another state passes its own first. “This is a serious moment. Wake up to what’s going on. Wake up to the fear, the anxiety.” Newsom revealed last week that California would move forward with plans to hold a special election in November on a ballot measure allowing the state Legislature to redraw the map for the remainder of the decade. He has said the measure won’t eliminate the independent redistricting commission that the state uses to draw its lines but would let the state keep up with Republican attempts to gerrymander. The news came as Texas state House Democrats set two conditions for returning to the Lone Star State after spending more than a week and a half in various other states to prevent the House from having a quorum and advancing the new map, which would likely allow Republicans to pick up five additional seats in next year’s midterm elections. The state House Democratic Caucus said in a statement that the lawmakers would return if the state Legislature adjourns sine die on Friday and California introduces new maps that would “neutralize” the proposed changes in Texas. Newsom has called for redrawing California’s map to offset gains that Republicans would make in Texas. Newsom called Thursday “liberation day,” a reference to the label Trump gave when announcing wide-ranging tariffs in April. He referenced a comment from Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) telling Trump that he has “poked the bear” and the state will “punch back.” He said Democrats must recognize that Trump isn’t playing by any rules and to “meet fire with fire.” He said California is taking this step only in reaction to Trump’s call on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to redraw the map and that he still believes independent redistricting commissions, like California uses, are the best way to conduct the process. Should it be approved, California would have just 4 Republican representatives, out of 52…meaning less than 8% of the state has GOP representation. So, to sum it up, while California’s own governor was busy boasting about his plans to gerrymander the state and steal democracy from his constituents while federal ICE agents — under the direction of President Trump and his administration — stood right outside, cleaning up the streets of L.A. by ridding the city of illegal criminals. Sounds about right… What a stark contrast. No wonder Democrats have to cheat and gerrymander to win.

Bisignano, the former COO of JP Morgan Chase and ex-CEO of financial technology giant Fiserv, did not comment on the president’s claim, which Trump appeared to read off a prepared list of agency accomplishments to mark the 90th anniversary of then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt signing the Social Security Act into law. The Social Security Administration confirmed in a statement that it “updated the Social Security records of about 275,000 individuals no longer holding legal status,” without offering details. Very curious. I thought Democrats assured us that illegal immigrants do not get Social Security. Legally, they can’t. In fact, illegal aliens who get checks from Social Security are really just stealing from the American people. Social Security is OUR money — we paid in.
