100+ Trump Nominees Confirmed By Senate Amid Government Shutdown

Senate Republicans on Tuesday confirmed over 100 of President Trump’s nominees despite the ongoing federal government shutdown. In a party-line vote, the upper legislative chamber confirmed 107 nominees. BREAKING: The US Senate just confirmed 107 President TRUMP NOMINEES all in one go, 51-47. This is DESPITE Chuck Schumer's shutdown. pic.twitter.com/gqRdoFC9PF — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) October 7, 2025 Fox News shared further info: It also came as the upper chamber was deadlocked in the midst of a government shutdown, during which floor votes have largely been dedicated to trying to reopen the government. The slate of confirmed nominees included many of Trump’s top allies and former candidates that he hand-picked to run in previous elections. Some of the most recognizable on the list were former Republican Senate candidate and ex-NFL star Herschel Walker, who was tapped as the U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas, and Sergio Gor, a top advisor to Trump who he picked to be his U.S. Ambassador to India. Other posts confirmed included a wave of senior administration officials, several prosecutors and the reappointment of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins to a seat on the commission until 2031. “Before Senate Democrats shut down the federal government, they shut down the Senate floor – freezing the confirmation process. For months, their blockade created a growing backlog of qualified, bipartisan nominees. Tonight, Senate Republicans confirmed 107 of those qualified nominees and ended the Democrats’ confirmation blockade,” Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) said in a statement, according to The Hill. “CONFIRMED: Another 107 nominees of President Trump — THANK YOU!” the Rapid Response 47 X account wrote. CONFIRMED: Another 107 nominees of President Trump — THANK YOU! pic.twitter.com/XvrpeavypH — Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) October 7, 2025 More from The Hill: The move comes nearly three weeks after Republicans confirmed the first group of 48 nominees, all of whom were advanced through committee with bipartisan support. Senate Republicans made the rules change following weeks of internal deliberations after Trump spurned a potential deal with Senate Democrats before the August recess due to what he deemed a high asking price. The change allowed the majority party to pass nominees en bloc. Previously, Republicans were forced to process each nomination individually, with Democrats using the filibuster to make them use up all of the clock to get them across the line.

CNN Reporter Surprises With Positive Remarks About President Trump On Podcast

CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins praised President Trump’s stamina and accessibility to the media. During an appearance on Jason Tartick’s podcast “Trading Secrets,” Collins commented on Trump’s surprising lack of need for sleep. “He like does not sleep,” Collins commented. “You never want to be on Air Force One on a trip,” she said, adding, “he doesn’t sleep on these trips.” “Trump is just always up and talking, and he’ll have them go wake staff up if they’re asleep because he wants to talk to them,” she continued. Check it out: CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Says Trump ‘Does Not Sleep’ “You never want to be on Air Force One on a trip … going to Asia or something … Trump is just always up and talking, and he'll have them go wake staff up if they're asleep because he wants to talk to them.” pic.twitter.com/ZLRoT00QC5 — Chief Nerd (@TheChiefNerd) October 7, 2025 Daily Mail shared: Staffers were routinely woken up while they were sleeping so Trump could speak to them about upcoming meetings or how he should respond to something negative said about him in the media. The report also claimed that Trump had all the televisions switched to Fox News and that he spent hours reviewing cable news shows that had been recorded for him. The staffers said they were kept up for hours and were often unable to convince Trump to go join Melania in their private quarters for some rest. At the time, Air Force One did not have lie-flat seats, as is common on business-class sections of commercial flights, for anyone except Trump and the First Lady. So, aides were forced to find the nearest couch or office chair. The best prepared among them brought yoga mats so they could sleep on the floor with some comfort. The CNN report delved into Trump’s odd sleeping habits as a then-septuagenarian. He only slept four to five hours a night in the White House and even less than that when he was in the air. Collins also commented on Trump being an “accessible president.” “Any time the camera’s around and reporters are around, it can turn into a press conference,” Collins said. “Trump will swear someone in, and then he’ll turn to you and say, ‘Any questions?’ And he’ll take questions for 45 minutes,” she continued. Collins mentioned that Barack Obama almost never responded to shouted questions. “Trump upended that when he came into the White House,” she said. “Trump embraced the media. He did it for decades as like this New York mogul, and so he just had a different approach to the press and always has long before taking office. Most politicians are not very press-savvy. It kind of depends on who it is,” she added. Footage below: KAITLAN COLLINS: “Trump is such an accessible President … Anytime the camera's around and reporters are around, it can turn into a press conference … President Obama almost never responded to shouted questions … Trump upended that when he came into the White House.” pic.twitter.com/kHo5hIZfu5 — Chief Nerd (@TheChiefNerd) October 7, 2025 Fox News has more: She added that she has also personally called Trump in the past for a comment, showing how accessible the president is to the media. “I would just call him directly,” Collins said. “I didn’t make a habit out of it, but if there was something huge happening like the day of the Mar-a-Lago raid when the FBI showed up and executed a search warrant over the classified documents. We had heard it was happening. Our people on the ground in Florida were trying to get in touch with law enforcement sources. And it was kind of one of those moments where I was like, ‘We will be best served if I just call him directly and ask if this is true.’ And it was true. And he sent me the statement immediately confirming it.” Collins and Trump have frequently clashed during press conferences, with Trump calling Collins a “low-rated anchor” and remarking “nobody watches CNN anymore.” Despite his rhetoric, however, Collins gave credit to Trump and his team for taking her questions and recalled a moment when White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended her during the president’s visit to Saudi Arabia in May. Collins recalled shouting out a question in Saudi Arabia to Trump while he was with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and she was then admonished by the royal guard that she couldn’t come to the next event. “They were deeply upset that I had asked a question,” she said. “To Karoline Leavitt’s credit, she was like, ‘No, Kaitlan’s coming in with the rest of the U.S. press.’ And so, I went into the next event. But I think things like that, you can disagree about questions and briefings and whatnot. Press access is key and every administration, I think, should protect that.”

COVER-UP: Declassified Docs Reveal CIA BURIED Report on Biden Family’s Corrupt Foreign Dealings

Newly-declassified documents just proved what we knew all along: Joe Biden had a lot to hide with regards to Ukraine. CIA Director John Ratfcliffe just declassified records from 2015, which show that then-Vice President Biden asked for an intelligence report on concerns over his family’s corrupt business dealings in Ukraine to be hidden. His request was granted, and the report was buried — until now. Here’s what we know: COVER-UP EXPOSED: Newly declassified records from CIA Director John Ratcliffe show that in 2015, Vice President Biden asked that an intelligence report on foreign concerns about his family’s ties to “corrupt” business dealings in Ukraine “not be disseminated.” The records were… pic.twitter.com/pz0dAZiilA — Fox News (@FoxNews) October 7, 2025 COVER-UP EXPOSED: Newly declassified records from CIA Director John Ratcliffe show that in 2015, Vice President Biden asked that an intelligence report on foreign concerns about his family’s ties to “corrupt” business dealings in Ukraine “not be disseminated.” The records were ultimately withheld — Director Ratcliffe calls this an example of “politicization of intelligence.” | @BrookeSingman BREAKING: Declassified CIA Docs Reveal Joe Biden Suppressed Reports of Ukrainian Leaders Exposing his Corruption pic.twitter.com/b7A0hjeG5I — INFOWARS (@infowars) October 7, 2025 The House Oversight Committee shared the newly-declassified docs: This declassified report released by @CIADirector backs up our investigation into the Biden family’s corrupt foreign business deals. Joe Biden ordered it buried: “He would strongly prefer the report not be disseminated.” In his final weeks, he pardoned Hunter. The cover-up… pic.twitter.com/A5ywHm9HdS — Oversight Committee (@GOPoversight) October 7, 2025 Here’s a closer look: The heavily-redacted report that Biden succeeded in having buried showed that Ukrainian officials believed his family’s ties to business corruption in Ukraine was evidence of a “double standard” in the U.S. government. Fox News has more: Then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2015 told the CIA he would “strongly prefer” an intelligence report documenting Ukrainian officials’ concerns with his family’s ties to “corrupt” business deals in the country “not be disseminated” — and so it wasn’t, according to a newly declassified email and records made public by the agency. CIA Director John Ratcliffe declassified the heavily redacted records, which he said he believes is an example of “politicization of intelligence.” Fox News Digital obtained the declassified documents, which were discovered during a CIA review of historical agency records. A senior CIA official briefed Fox News Digital on the declassified documents and intelligence report, stating that the intelligence was discovered along with an email showing that Biden “expressed a preference to not share the report.” Representatives for Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. CIA officials discovered and declassified an email dated February 10, 2016, with the subject line stating: “RE: OVP query regarding draft [REDACTED].” The email was sent to the CIA. The classification of the email was listed, and crossed out, as “SECRET.” “Good morning, I just spoke with VP/ NSA and he would strongly prefer the report not/not be disseminated. Thanks for understanding,” the email states, signed by a redacted name, but with the title of “PDB Briefer.” The “PDB” is the presidential daily brief. The report in question included intelligence revealing that Ukrainian officials viewed the Biden family’s alleged ties to corrupt business practices in Ukraine “as evidence of a double-standard within the United States Government towards matters of corruption and political power.” “Intelligence officials agreed that, at the time of collection, it would have met the threshold [for dissemination], but based on the Office of the Vice President’s preference, the information was never shared outside of the CIA,” the official said. The CIA, during its review, confirmed that Biden’s request was granted and that the intelligence report “had not been disseminated.” The senior CIA official told Fox News Digital that it was “extremely rare and unusual” and “inappropriate to go outside of the intelligence community and inquire with the White House on the dissemination of a particular report for what appears to be political reasons.” Remember when Joe Biden bragged about having Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin — who was investigating Burisma Holdings, where Hunter was a member of the board — fired? He threatened not to give Ukraine $1 billion of aid if they refused to fire Shotkin. Here’s a refresher: CIA confirmed today they knew Biden was tied to corruption in Ukraine. Remember how Biden bragged that he got Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired who investigated Burisma and his son Hunter? Shokin, in his investigation of Burisma Holdings, identified Hunter Biden as… pic.twitter.com/ch4C7ztTAe — Lord Bebo (@MyLordBebo) October 7, 2025 It’s all coming together now…

Johnson & Johnson Ordered To Pay Staggering Sum In Talc Cancer Case

A Los Angeles jury ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $966 million to the family of a woman who died from mesothelioma, finding the company liable in the latest trial alleging its talc products cause cancer. The family of Mae Moore, a California resident who died at age 88 in 2021, sued the company the same year, claiming J&J’s talc baby powder products contained asbestos fibers that caused her rare cancer. The jury late on Monday ordered J&J to pay $16 million in compensatory damages and $950 million in punitive damages, according to court filings. The verdict could be reduced on appeal as the U.S. Supreme Court has found that punitive damages should generally be no more than nine times compensatory damages. Erik Haas, Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide vice president of litigation, said in a statement that the company plans to immediately appeal, calling the verdict “egregious and unconstitutional.” “The plaintiff lawyers in this Moore case based their arguments on ‘junk science’ that never should have been presented to the jury,” Haas said. The company has said its products are safe, do not contain asbestos, and do not cause cancer. J&J stopped selling talc-based baby powder in the U.S. in 2020, switching to a cornstarch product. Mesothelioma has been linked to asbestos exposure. Trey Branham, one of the attorneys representing Moore’s family, said after the verdict that his team is “hopeful that Johnson & Johnson will finally accept responsibility for these senseless deaths.” J&J is facing lawsuits from more than 67,000 plaintiffs who say they were diagnosed with cancer after using baby powder and other talc products, according to court filings. The number of lawsuits alleging talc caused mesothelioma is a small subset of these cases, with the vast majority involving ovarian cancer claims. Get 40% off new DailyWire+ annual memberships with code FALL40 at checkout J&J has sought to resolve the litigation through bankruptcy, a proposal that has been rejected three times by federal courts. Lawsuits alleging talc caused mesothelioma were not part of the last bankruptcy proposal. The company has previously settled some of those claims but has not struck a nationwide settlement, so many lawsuits over mesothelioma have proceeded to trial in state courts in recent months. In the past year, J&J has been hit with several substantial verdicts in mesothelioma cases, but Monday’s is among the largest. The company has won some of the mesothelioma trials, including last week in South Carolina, where a jury found J&J not liable. The company has been successful in reducing some of the awards on appeal, including in one Oregon case where a state judge granted J&J’s motion to throw out a $260 million verdict and hold a new trial.
