SHAMEFUL: FedEx SUES Trump Administration for “Full Refund” After SCOTUS Tariff Ruling

The Supreme Court’s ruling against President Trump’s tariffs is having steep ramifications. Today, FedEx filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government for a “full refund” of all the money they have paid out so far for the tariffs that SCOTUS just deemed illegal. Here are the details: BREAKING: FedEx just SUED the United States to TAKE BILLIONS in taxpayer money as a “refund” after the Supreme Court overturned President Trump’s IEEPA tariffs Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch did this by joining the Left. NO REFUNDS, PERIOD! FedEx can screw off.… pic.twitter.com/9F6gTSmH7a — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) February 23, 2026 BREAKING: FedEx just SUED the United States to TAKE BILLIONS in taxpayer money as a “refund” after the Supreme Court overturned President Trump’s IEEPA tariffs Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch did this by joining the Left. NO REFUNDS, PERIOD! FedEx can screw off. Huge props to Alito, Thomas and Kavanaugh for holding the line! The Supreme Court really messed up here — big time. In their ruling last week, the justices ruled that all tariffs enacted under IEEPA are invalid. But, they did not address if or how the government should handle “refunds” on tariffs. Because of this, it’s predicted that the FedEx lawsuit is just the first of many to come. CBS News reported: The complaint, filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade, is the first major lawsuit seeking tariff reimbursements since the high court ruled last week that President Trump had exceeded his authority when he used the International Economic Emergency Powers Act to unilaterally impose sweeping tariffs on most of the world. The Supreme Court did not indicate whether businesses that paid tariffs under IEEPA are entitled to refunds. The issue is expected to draw a flood of lawsuits that will be litigated in the lower courts over the billions of dollars in tariff payments that have been made over the last year, and trade experts have predicted years of legal wrangling. FedEx sought an order from the trade court that would force Customs and Border Protection to refund all duties paid last year under the federal emergency powers law. “This Court has jurisdiction and authority to order remedial relief and refunds of IEEPA duties paid by importers,” FedEx wrote in its complaint, adding, “Plaintiffs have paid IEEPA duties to the United States and thus have suffered injury caused by those orders.” “Supporting our customers as they navigate regulatory changes remains our priority,” a FedEx spokesperson said in a statement. “FedEx has taken necessary action to protect the company’s rights as an importer of record to seek duty refunds from U.S. Customs and Border Protection following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that the tariffs issued under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) are unlawful.” What a mess. While the lawsuit did not name a specific amount of money that FedEx is seeking from the government, it’s likely to be in the billions, based on previous company estimates. That’s billions of dollars in taxpayer money that FedEx believes they are entitled to. Per CNBC: The suit does not say how much FedEx has paid in IEEPA tariffs since Trump imposed them on most U.S. trading partners last year. But in September, FedEx had said that it expected it would take a $1 billion hit to its earnings for the fiscal year because of U.S. trade policies, not all of which involved IEEPA duties. That dollar amount represents 16% of total earnings for the prior fiscal year. In a note on its website, FedEx said, “While the Supreme Court did not address the issue of refunds, FedEx has taken necessary action to protect the company’s rights as an importer of record to seek duty refunds from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.” “At this time, however, no refund process has been established by regulators or the courts,” the company said. “We will communicate any relevant information and updates in a timely manner, and we appreciate your patience as we wait for additional guidance and clarity from the U.S. government and the courts.” This is absolutely insane and disgraceful. Some folks are calling for a boycott against FedEx: Sell the stock if you own any. Make it go viral. #boycottfedex — Don Foster (@donny3452) February 23, 2026 Boycott @FedEx The American taxpayers owe them nothing! — Tina G #MAGA#DOGE (@TinaG94237238) February 23, 2026 This is a very good question, too: Did FedEx raise prices to compensate for the tariffs? If they get reimbursed, will they pass it back to their customers? — America First Conservative (@ETX_Conservatve) February 23, 2026 Your thoughts?

Why So Many Grown Kids Are Cutting Off Their Fathers

This article is part of Upstream, The Daily Wire’s new home for culture and lifestyle. Real human insight and human stories — from our featured writers to you. *** My parents still live in my childhood home, and I live one street away. It is common for my dad to stop me on jogs for a quick catchup. My wife and I often joke that we can’t escape my parents’ presence. But we don’t want to. At 40, I cannot imagine a life where my father isn’t present. That didn’t happen by accident. Unfortunately, I am becoming part of a shrinking group. A 2022 study reveals that by adulthood, 28% of daughters and 24% of sons are estranged from their fathers, while only 6% are estranged from their mothers. With so much talk surrounding a myriad of childhood crises these days, I propose we have a fatherhood crisis. When I was growing up, my dad was hard on me. I was pushed to play sports and always required to have a summer job. But when I’d come home from practice or bussing tables, he was always there. My dad constantly told me he loved me, almost to my exhaustion as I was encouraged to repeat it back. He was teaching me both to be loved and how to love.  Even when I went far from home to play college football, my dad attended every game. Presence was a priority. He taught me that closeness was normal. I have no memories of my dad not being there, and thus I couldn’t envision any other way of life. My dad didn’t just provide; he stayed. So why are so many men losing their adult children? We can start with divorce. Nearly one-third of American children experience divorce before adulthood. Fathers are far more likely to become the non-resident parent post-divorce. Less time equals weaker bonds.  But while divorce affects the quantity of a dad’s time with his children, it does not explain resignation. Even married fathers can be emotionally absent. This is when the culture takes over instead. I know from the countless times I hear “Daddy, watch me!” that kids want to be seen. When they aren’t seen by their parents, they resort to social media and gaming, where their presence is validated and celebrated. One multi-year study found that as gaming increases, the perceived quality of family relationships tends to deteriorate — especially when parental bonds are weaker. If dad doesn’t see his kids, the algorithm will. The good news is the same studies indicate that stronger parental attachment (emotional closeness and social support) is linked to lower levels of gaming addiction in adolescents, suggesting that weaker attachment may be associated with more compulsive engagement with games. If you’re a dad, ask yourself, how many times a day do you tell your kids you love them? Are you leading them toward you or pushing them away? In a society that is constantly turning its back on institutions, perhaps one of the oldest institutions, the church, may help families the most here. The Bible tells us in Malachi 4:6, “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” Studies looking at fathers specifically find that factors such as church attendance and broad religious participation are positively related to paternal engagement with children — meaning men who are more involved in religious communities also tend to be more engaged with their kids. The church provides families with shared rituals and a shared moral language. Families that pray together, stay together. While a lot of quality time is important for fathers to prioritize with their sons, ultimately, boys go to college and eventually graduate into manhood. They will have to think and act for themselves. My dad prepared me for this in a way I’m trying to emulate for my four kids. My dad was always there. Presence, not perfection, was the standard. Time, not money, was our family’s currency. I literally can’t think of a childhood memory that doesn’t have my dad in it.  My dad vocalized his expectations often and held incredibly high standards for me. Any time I’d say I couldn’t do something, his response was always, “Why not?” Win district tournaments in wrestling in just my first year? Why not? Get a job at a top financial firm with no experience? Why not? Become president one day? Why not? Pressure isolates, but expectations build identity. And a lifetime sitting at the feet of my father has been one defined by expectations.  Finally, and maybe most importantly, we shared our future with one another. That future involved both of us. We’d talk about our lives ahead and include both of us in the story. I remember conversations about future milestones in my own fatherhood and how my dad couldn’t wait to be a grandpa. As a child, I couldn’t envision adulthood without my dad. If nearly a quarter of adult sons cut their dads off, something foundational is breaking. And it’s the job of a dad to build a solid foundation. The best thing you can give your kids is a reason to stay. Share meals together. Go to church together. Talk about life and the future. Tell your kids you love them and expect great things for and from them. Hug them and kiss them. Live your life with your kids, not just for them. Build independence in them without emotional distance. Teach them how to love by loving them first.  We don’t have a boy crisis. We have a dad problem. And it’s fixable. I live one street from my dad because he never gave me a reason to leave. * * * Gates Garcia is the host of the YouTube show and podcast “We The People.” Follow him on Instagram and X @GatesGarciaFL. EXCLUSIVE: Erika Kirk To Be Trump’s Special Guest At State Of The Union

WASHINGTON—Erika Kirk will attend the State of the Union on Tuesday evening as a special guest of President Donald Trump, The Daily Wire can first report. Kirk will be present in the audience as the president delivers an address that will mention both Erika Kirk and her late husband, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September while speaking at Utah Valley University. Kirk’s assassination rocked the world, prompting what many recognized as a spiritual awakening throughout the United States. During his remarks, Trump will highlight the “tremendous revival of faith, Christianity, and belief in God in our country” since Kirk’s death, a White House official shared. The president will also affirm that America is “one nation under God,” and, referencing the wave of political violence that has shocked Americans over the last few years, Trump will call on all members of Congress to “firmly reject political violence against our fellow citizens.” Charlie Kirk left behind his wife and two young children, a daughter and a son. Erika Kirk has since taken over Turning Point USA, as her husband wished, urging Americans across the nation to live as her husband encouraged and to draw closer to Jesus Christ. During a massive memorial service for Charlie Kirk in September, top members of the Trump administration went to Arizona to eulogize their departed friend and to stand with his family. Both the president and Vice President JD Vance spoke at the service, where Trump called Erika Kirk’s response to the tragedy both “beautiful” and “strong.” Erika Kirk, as she spoke about her husband to the estimated 100,000 attendees, emotionally forgave her husband’s killer. “That young man, that young man,” she said. “On the cross, our savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ That man, that young man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know, from the Gospel, is love and always love.” A month later, Trump had Erika Kirk at the White House again to posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Since her husband’s death she has continued to represent TPUSA, her husband, and their political and religious values on the world stage, despite aggressive smear campaigns from online commentators. She has been repeatedly distinguished by the Trump administration, including by the president, Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance. “President Trump has been a source of strength for Erika, constantly checking in with her over the last five months, and Erika is incredibly honored to be invited by the president to attend tonight’s State of the Union,” Turning Point USA spokesman Matt Shupe told The Daily Wire. “Erika has been thrust into an enormously important role by fate and tragedy and because Charlie chose her should the horrible moment ever come, and she has risen to the occasion with grace, dignity, and a lot of hard work.” As evidence of Erika Kirk’s hard work, Shupe pointed to the explosive growth that TPUSA has experienced in the aftermath of the assassination, to TPUSA’s “All-American Halftime show” that garnered over 50 million viewers, and the “most ambitious spring and summer tour season in TPUSA’s history” ahead of them. “Her leadership has been incredible to witness,” he said. “No one should ever be asked to do what she has done under the circumstances, but she is an inspiration to the whole TPUSA family, the nation, and to young people everywhere.” President Donald Trump posthumously awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk as he presents the Medal to his wife Erika Kirk. (Photo by Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images) A gunman identified by authorities as Tyler Robinson has been charged with shooting Kirk in the neck and killing him on September 10, 2025, just as Kirk was answering questions on transgender shooters. Robinson lived with his “transgender partner,” a man named Lance Twiggs, who is attempting to transition to a transgender female. Trump’s State of the Union address will focus on ending the political violence that has plagued the country in recent years. That attack came only weeks after trans-identifying shooter Robin Westman killed Catholic schoolchildren in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during a church shooting. And that attack came just two years after another in which a trans-identifying killer targeted Christian school children in Nashville. Earlier this month, another transgender-identifying attacker in Canada opened fire on a rural school in British Columbia, killing nine and injuring dozens, and only last week, yet another man who identifies as a woman opened fire at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island. These instances of transgender violence do not include the politically motivated attacks on the president himself. Ahead of the 2024 election season, a gunman attempted to kill President Trump as he spoke in Butler, Pennsylvania, narrowly missing the president’s head and grazing his ear with a bullet. Soon afterward, authorities arrested another gunman in Florida attempting to kill the president at his golf course. And on Sunday, the Secret Service shot and killed a man who entered Mar-a-Lago carrying a gun after breaking through the security perimeter. “In the middle of the night while most Americans were asleep, the United States Secret Service acted quickly and decisively to neutralize a crazy person, armed with a gun and a gas canister, who intruded President Trump’s home,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Sunday. “Federal law enforcement are working 24/7 to keep our country safe and protect all Americans,” she added, hitting at Democrats for shutting down the Department of Homeland Security. “It’s shameful and reckless that Democrats have chosen to shut down their Department.” On Monday, the president addressed the Mar-A-Lago shooting, saying at an event at the White House: “I don’t know how long I’ll be around. Got a lot of people gunning for me.” “You know, if you read about all these crazy shooters, they don’t go after non-consequential presidents,” he added jokingly, referring to former presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. “So maybe I want to be a little less consequential? Can we hold it back a little bit, please? Can this be a normal presidency for a little while?”
