An MS-13 gang member currently serving time for murder is now demanding to be “recognized” as a woman — and is suing the President of the United States to make that happen. According to a report published on Sunday by Reduxx Magazine, Oscar Contreras Aguilar was sentenced to serve 21 years in prison for the kidnapping and murder of a 14-year-old. He has filed a lawsuit against both President Donald Trump and the Bureau of Prisons, claiming that they have “refused to recognize” his gender identity. ?EXCLUSIVE? Oscar Contreras Aguilar is serving a 21-year sentence for the murder of a teen boy.https://t.co/1ZGr4NUSA2 — REDUXX (@ReduxxMag) August 11, 2025 Contreras Aguilar was a known member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) — a transnational criminal gang known for ruthlessness and brutality — under the alias “Atrevido.” He was arrested in 2017 in connection with the 2016 murders of 17-year-old Edvin Mendez — who was believed to be a member of a rival gang — and 14-year-old Sergio Triminio, who Contreras Aguilar and other members of MS-13 believed was cooperating with law enforcement. It was not until 2024 — after filing a number of complaints alleging attempts on his life and other issues — that Contreras Aguilar took on the name Fendi G. Skyy and claimed to identify as female. He then began filing complaints stating that trans-identifying prisoners were mistreated in comparison to other prisoners. “Transgender women prisoners in men’s prisons,” he claimed, are often met with “harsher, more degrading treatment than their cisgender counterparts.” Prior to changing his identity, Contreras Aguilar claimed that fellow MS-13 members had attempted to kill him on several occasions after discovering that he had been acting as an informant. He also filed a legal complaint against then Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2022, claiming that he had been working as an informant in 2016 and 2017, and that his 21-year sentence had been issued as a result of a plea agreement. “While in the community, [Contreras Aguilar] was working with the Suffolk County Police Department and the Long Island Gang Task Force of the FBI in New York as an informant,” the complaint read, in part. That suit was dismissed in early 2024, and within months, Contreras Aguilar announced that he identified as a woman.

Washington, D.C., police recorded the 100th homicide of 2025 in the nation’s capital Monday evening, just hours after President Donald Trump announced that the federal government would take control of law enforcement to crack down on violent crime in D.C. Tymark Wells, 33, was shot multiple times in D.C.’s Logan Circle neighborhood just before 7:00 p.m., Fox 5 reported. The victim was taken to the hospital after police arrived on the scene and was later pronounced dead. Police are searching for a man wearing a black shirt and carrying a rifle, according to NBC 4 Washington. Logan Circle is just one mile from the White House and is described as one of D.C.’s more popular neighborhoods, attracting young crowds to its restaurants and bars. After the shooting, the Secret Service closed the Ellipse park near the White House, along with the north and south fence lines around the White House. The D.C. Police Union, which backed Trump’s decision to federalize the police department, said in a statement, “Last night, DC suffered the grave milestone of its 100th homicide for 2025. Let’s hope this federal intervention leads to real change to the laws in DC that allow this to happen year after year.” The fatal shooting is yet another example of the violent crime plaguing the nation’s capital that President Trump has vowed to root out. The homicide rate in D.C. in 2024 reached 27.3 per 100,000 residents, giving the U.S. capital the fourth-highest homicide rate of any city in the country. So far in 2025, D.C. authorities have also reported over 530 assaults with a dangerous weapon, nearly 900 robberies, and nearly 3,000 motor vehicle thefts. While the city has reported lower violent crime levels since record highs from 2020 to 2023, violent crime remains much higher in D.C. than it did 10-15 years ago. D.C.’s crime data has also been questioned after a Metropolitan Police Department commander was suspended and placed under investigation for allegedly changing crime statistics. That investigation was announced shortly after the commander filed an equal employment opportunity complaint against an assistant chief, and after the police union accused the Metropolitan Police Department of falsifying crime stats to make it appear as if the city had seen a drop in violent crime, NBC 4 Washington reported. Still, Democratic city leaders argue that they are doing their job to address violent crime in D.C. On Monday, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said that Trump’s “view of D.C. is shaped by his COVID-era experience during his first term,” when the city was experiencing a record-breaking crime wave. “And it is true that those were challenging times related to some issues. It is also true that we experienced a crime spike post-COVID, but we worked quickly to put laws in place and tactics that got violent offenders off our streets and gave our police officers more tools,” Bowser said, adding, “We have been able to reverse that 2023 crime spike.” Neither Trump nor the D.C. Police Union, which represents over 3,000 officers with the Metropolitan Police Department, agrees that Democratic leaders are properly enforcing the law and protecting Americans. The D.C. Police Union said in a statement on Monday that it “acknowledges and supports the President’s announcement this morning to assume temporary control of the MPD in response to the escalating crime crisis in Washington, DC.” “The Union agrees that crime is spiraling out of control, and immediate action is necessary to restore public safety,” the police union added.

Speaking on Tuesday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sent a warning that the Trump administration would investigate who is buying land around U.S. military bases in the homeland. “Congressional Republicans have introduced companion bills to halt Chinese purchases outright, and the Pentagon is aligning with USDA and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to identify and shut down high-risk acquisitions,” North Carolina journalist Sloan Rachmuth noted on Substack. “I want to know who owns the land around our bases and strategic bases, and getting an understanding of why foreign entities, foreign companies, foreign individuals, might be buying up land around those bases,” Hegseth asserted. “That’s something I should be paying attention to on behalf of the American people, on behalf of my department and on behalf of the president. It’s common sense. And so, food security, just like energy resilience, just like where we get our water, that’s all national security, especially in a contingency.” “So we would be asleep at the wheel if we were not fully a party to an effort like this to ensure that our nation had the food supply it needs, but specifically our troops have what they need on our basis so that in those moments, you can rely on us here in the United States to provide that security,” he continued, warning, “So no longer can foreign adversaries assume we’re not watching and we’re not paying attention and we’re not doing something because we are.” In April, Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-NC) introduced the Military Installation Retail Security Act, which would ban companies owned by enemy nations from operating retail stores on U.S. military installations. In October 2023, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) introduced the “Protect Our Bases Act,” which would “require the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to annually review and update the facilities and property of the United States Government determined to be national security sensitive for purposes of review of real estate transactions.” In the North Carolina Senate, lawmakers introduced the NC Farmland and Military Protection Act, which would bar any foreign government from buying land within a 25-mile radius of military installations. The North Carolina House is considering a similarly named bill, which would increase that radius to 75 miles. North Carolina is the home of Fort Bragg, Pope Army Airfield, and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, among other military bases. “Agriculture is our largest industry, generating $111 billion a year and covering over 8 million acres. The military is our second-largest sector, adding up to $80 billion annually and supporting more than 650,000 jobs,” Rachmuth noted. “Allowing hostile governments to buy farmland near these sites is not just an economic risk — it’s a direct threat to operational security. Property near runways, radar stations, or training grounds can be used for surveillance equipment, drone staging, or subtle encroachment on military activities.” In 2023, the people of North Dakota saw a Chinese plan for opening a corn mill near a sensitive military base and took matters into their own hands, blocking the project. The Grand Forks City Council, aware that the U.S. military did not have jurisdiction to kill the project, voted unanimously in February 2023 to block Chinese food producer Fufeng Group from building the mill only 12 miles from the Grand Forks Air Force Base. In spring 2022, three North Dakotans sold the land for millions of dollars; the town’s mayor, Brandon Bochenski, pointed out that the proposed $700 million plant would create more than 200 jobs, but also admitted there were national security concerns. “The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) considered an October 2022 filing by the Fufeng Group to acquire certain assets in the vicinity of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Grand Forks Air Force Base is the center of military activities related to both air and space operations,” U.S. Air Force Assistant Secretary Andrew P. Hunter warned North Dakota Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer in January. “While CFIUS concluded that it did not have jurisdiction, the Department’s view is unambiguous: the proposed project represents a significant threat to national security with both near and long-term risks of significant impacts to our operations in the area,” he added. “With regard to Fufeng, if you’re going to strategically decouple, that means we don’t want their investment,” Cramer said last June.

In 2024, Washington, D.C., reported a homicide rate of 27.3 per 100,000 residents, giving it the fourth-highest homicide rate in the country.  Trump is taking the violent crime issue head-on, which Democrats believe is “unsettling and unprecedented.” And while our Leftist Tears Tumblers runneth over, we’re here to say, ‘Yeah, it is “unprecedented” for violent criminals to feel unsafe in a Democrat-run city.’ But “unsettling”?
