Michael Douglas Calls Catherine Zeta-Jones His ‘Sister,’ Leaving Fans Puzzled

Michael Douglas left fans puzzled after calling his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, his “birthday sister” in a recent post. The couple, who both share the same birthday on September 25, have long been admired for their enduring Hollywood romance. This year, Douglas turned 81 while Zeta-Jones celebrated her 56th birthday. Douglas shared a photo of the pair on the golf course, writing, “To my birthday sister — what a joy celebrating another year with you!” He went on to congratulate Zeta-Jones on her game at the Celebrity Ryder Cup before adding, “Happy Birthday to the love of my life.” Fans quickly flooded the comments, with many confused by his affectionate phrase. Fans Question the “Birthday Sister” Remark Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones/X Several social media users were left scratching their heads over Douglas’s choice of words. “That’s his wife, not his sister. What does he mean, ‘birthday sister’?” one person asked. Another added, “Did you just call your wife sister?? Or am I tripping?”             View this post on Instagram                         A post shared by Michael Douglas (@michaelkirkdouglas)   According to AOL, not all the reactions were critical. Many fans praised the couple, sending birthday wishes and celebrating their shared milestone. One wrote, “A very happy birthday to you both!” while another added, “So cool you two share the same birthday.” Their daughter, Carys, also joined in with a heartfelt tribute, posting a family photo and sharing her gratitude for her parents’ love and support. Catherine Zeta-Jones Draws Mixed Reactions on Talk Show Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-jones/Instagram Beyond the birthday celebrations, Catherine Zeta-Jones recently made headlines during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. While promoting Season 2 of Wednesday, she recalled an encounter with a 12-year-old fan on the golf course. Joking about the age gap, she quipped, “When I’m 70, this cute little boy will be 33.” Michael Douglas And Catherine Zeta-Jones/Instagram Though the remark was meant in jest, some viewers did not find it amusing. On TikTok, critics called the comment “awkward” and “not appropriate.” Still, Zeta-Jones laughed off the moment on the show and even reminded audiences that Douglas is 25 years older than her. The lighthearted exchange highlighted the couple’s humor, even as social media reactions remained divided. ‘Sound Of Music’ Child Star Nicholas Hammond Reflects On The Challenges Of Childhood Fame

When The Sound of Music premiered 60 years ago, audiences fell in love with the von Trapp family. For a young Nicholas Hammond, who was just 14 at the time, the experience became a defining moment. Playing Friedrich von Trapp gave him instant recognition, but it also placed him in a spotlight few teenagers could handle. Hammond remembers the joy of making the film, describing it as a project that brought happiness to “billions of people over the years.” Yet, as he recalled in his conversation with People, the transition from schoolboy to one of the “seven most famous children in the world” came with unique challenges. He admitted that returning to junior high after filming meant classmates staring in awe, something he found overwhelming at that age. He explained that only they truly understood the sudden shift from anonymity to worldwide fame. “It was only us seven that knew what that experience was like,” he said, reflecting on how even family members couldn’t fully grasp the change. Still, nothing could prepare him for the cultural wave that The Sound of Music created. While he saw it as a positive experience, Hammond acknowledged that child stardom is often difficult. Many of his castmates left Hollywood, while he continued working and building a steady career. Fans remember him as the first live-action Spider-Man of the 1970s, a role that still draws admirers to conventions. He later earned acclaim in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as a flamboyant TV director. Now living in Sydney, he continues to act with the same enthusiasm he had as a teenager. “I don’t ever want to do anything except wake up in the morning and know I have a play, a film, or a TV studio to go to,” he shared. Six decades after his debut, Nicholas Hammond remains proud of the path he chose and grateful for the support that carried him through. Debbie Turner Reflects On Leaving Hollywood Behind After ‘Sound Of Music’ Fame, But ‘Not By Choice’

When The Sound of Music debuted 60 years ago, it became an instant classic. With Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer leading the cast, the story of the von Trapp family captured hearts worldwide. The film’s enduring charm is tied not only to its music but also to the children who played the von Trapp siblings. Among them was Debbie Turner, who stepped into the role of young Marta at just 7 years old. Debbie Turner, unlike some of her castmates, wasn’t an established actress before joining the production. She had only appeared in commercials, while others like Angela Cartwright already had screen credits. Still, her sweet performance in the 1965 film made Marta unforgettable to audiences. Looking back, Turner admits her Hollywood career ended before it had the chance to begin — and not by her own choice. All rights reserved/Everett Collection According to People, Debbie Turner recalled how acting opportunities quickly dried up after The Sound of Music. Casting directors often recognized her from the film, but instead of opening doors, it seemed to close them. “I just didn’t get jobs,” she explained, describing her exit from Hollywood as something beyond her control. For Turner, the beloved musical ended up being both her first and only major screen role. Debbie Turner/X Rather than dwell on the lack of acting work, Turner found joy elsewhere. She built a fulfilling life outside the spotlight, developing passions as an athlete and artist. Years later, she launched her own company, Debbie Turner Originals, where she became a wedding florist and even decorated the White House for Christmas. After more than three decades in design, she has since stepped back, embracing a quieter pace. She and her husband, Rick Larson, have been married since 1989, raising four children together. Today, the couple enjoys their roles as grandparents to 10 grandchildren, a stage of life Turner cherishes deeply. “Now it’s grandkids time!” she said with joy. She explained that she would only consider roles that are wholesome, meaningful, and aligned with her values. For now, she remains proud of her chapter in The Sound of Music, a film that continues to inspire audiences six decades later.
