Wholesale prices dropped in August, coming in significantly below what economists had expected, and led to a new record high for the S&P 500 on Wednesday. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI) came in at 2.6% year-over-year, far below the 3.3% rise that was forecasted, according to Barron’s. Wholesale prices dropped 0.1% on a monthly basis, which was also better than what economists were expecting, with the Dow Jones predicting a 0.3% rise, CNBC reported. “Boy, I’m surprised — real progress here! 2.6% on year-over-year headline. We were expecting 3.3%!” said CNBC’s Rick Santelli. CNBC host Becky Quick added that the inflation report was “a real shocker.” The White House took a victory lap after the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, blasting “the so-called ‘experts’” who had predicted for months that President Donald Trump’s wide-ranging tariffs would cause prices to skyrocket. “The latest PPI report shows there is no inflation — wholesale prices fell and smashed economists’ expectations. President Trump has defeated Joe Biden’s inflation crisis while successfully implementing powerful tariffs, which haven’t hiked prices like the so-called ‘experts’ claimed,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “This is yet another reason for Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell to cut the rates immediately to make everyday life more affordable for Americans.” In July, the PPI increased by 0.7%, which was the highest month-over-month increase since Trump took office for his second term in January. The S&P 500 surged to a new record high, climbing another 0.4% after the report came out on Wednesday, according to CNBC. Computer software company Oracle led the S&P 500 rally, gaining 40% after the company released a surprising forecast, stating that it expects AI-fueled revenue to reach $144 billion by its 2030 fiscal year. The August inflation report was published just one week before the Federal Reserve Board of Governors meets for its September gathering, as signs indicate that policymakers may lower interest rates after months of pressure from Trump. Fed Chair Jerome Powell hinted last month that a rate cut could happen under current economic conditions. Prices under Trump’s tariffs have continued to defy predictions from economists as American consumers have seen little to no effect on overall prices after the president imposed duties on dozens of countries, including America’s top trading partners. The tariffs, however, will be considered by the Supreme Court, as the administration warns that a ruling striking down the tariffs would have “ruinous” consequences for the U.S. economy.

Fresh off a major legal victory, the Department of Homeland Security is touting the wide variety of illegal aliens convicted on charges related to violence, drugs, and sex crimes currently held in “Alligator Alcatraz.” Last week, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a federal judge’s order saying that Alligator Alcatraz needed to be shut down. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis celebrated the ruling over the weekend, saying he was working to open up similar illegal detention centers across the state, including one he dubbed he “Panhandle Pokey.”  In the meantime, Alligator Alcatraz will remain home to illegal immigrants convicted of drug trafficking, murder, and sexual offenses targeting children. Since its opening, the detention center has been the focus of protests from leftist activists and a lawsuit arguing that Florida and the Trump administration violated federal environmental laws.  “Despite repeated hoaxes peddled by the media and activist judges, Alligator Alcatraz is still open and housing some of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, pedophiles, weapon traffickers, and drug dealers until they are swiftly removed from our country,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.  According to the Department of Homeland Security, those currently detained at Alligator Alcatraz include the following:  Abelardo Ocampo, an illegal from Mexico convicted of attempted homicide/second-degree murder and possession of a weapon with intent to harm.   Eraldo Ariel Perez Perez, an illegal from Guatemala, convicted of sexual battery of a victim (12 years or older) physically helpless to resist. Efrain Mez-Choc, another illegal from Guatemala convicted of engaging in sex with a child and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child 12-16 years old.  Alexis Moreda Gallardo, an illegal from Cuba convicted of larceny, fraud impersonation, aggravated assault, and indecent exposure.   Gustavo Cruz Garcia, an illegal alien from Mexico convicted of prostitution and sex offenses.   Gersain Lerma Lasprilla, an illegal from Colombia convicted in his home country for the manufacture and trafficking of firearms and ammunition.   Thallys Roberto Cassimiro DeSouza, an illegal from Brazil convicted of robbery.  David Mota Castillo, an illegal from the Dominican Republic convicted of drug trafficking.  Simeon De La Cruz Paredes, an illegal from the Dominican Republic convicted of smuggling aliens. Diego Puentes, an illegal from Guatemala convicted of second-degree murder.  The Trump administration plans to open similar facilities in other states. “Innovative state partnerships like Alligator Alcatraz, Louisiana Lock-up, Speedway Slammer, and Cornhusker Clink are expanding detention capability to lock up criminal illegal aliens and turbo charging our efforts to get criminal illegal aliens out of our country,” McLaughlin said. “Fire up the deportation planes.”

A Democrat running for Senate in Maine will host a fundraiser on September 11 at a Washington, D.C., bar that has allied with Hamas sympathizers. Graham Platner, a 40-year-old Marine and Army veteran seeking to oust Republican Senator Susan Collins, scheduled a fundraiser at Exiles Bar in D.C. on 9/11. The location is an interesting choice for the anniversary of the deadly attack perpetrated by radical Islamic terrorists. Exiles, located a little over a mile north of the White House, hosted an event last year with the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP), a group that claims that Israel started an “assault on Gaza” on October 7, 2023 — the day Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed around 1,200 people, taking hundreds more hostage. “Israel’s most recent actions in Gaza seem to support the notion that the ultimate goal is to displace Palestinians and seize their land,” the group wrote in a June 2024 article. “Since October 7, many Israeli politicians and other powerful actors have made their territorial aspirations clear.” TIMEP’s Executive Director, Mai El-Sadany, also recently posted on X that “Israel is making all of us less safe.” During an April 18, 2024, event, Exiles Bar gifted 10% of some of its food and drink sales to TIMEP. The event was advertised by the New England Network for Justice for Palestine as “an evening of food, drink, community, and solidarity.” The Daily Wire reached out to Exiles Bar, requesting comment on the event with a Hamas-sympathizing group. Platner has a troubling record on Israel and the Middle East. While the Democrat has accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, there is no public record of him condemning Hamas. Shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, Platner argued in an op-ed that “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter,” the Washington Free Beacon reported earlier this week. The op-ed was published in the Bangor Daily News. The Daily Wire reached out to Platner’s campaign, seeking comment on his fundraiser at Exiles Bar and giving him an opportunity to address the 2002 op-ed. Platner said in a recent interview that he joined the Marines out of high school “mostly out of like a young man’s sense of duty and also a bit of a call to adventure.” He later enrolled at George Washington University, but after seeing that many of his friends were still deployed, he enlisted in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011. Platner, however, said he “did not believe in the thing that I had taken part in.” Platner launched his 2026 Senate campaign last month with a pledge to focus on universal health care, housing affordability, and ending foreign wars, NBC News reported. Platner said that he hopes the Democratic Party will follow in the footsteps of leftists such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Newly-released emails suggest that Dr. Anthony Fauci went out of his way to hide information during the COVID-19 pandemic — and then lied about doing so when questioned about it by members of Congress. There are all sorts of reasons why someone would prefer to live in a more remote area. Peace and quiet, however, is usually high on that list. They were prepared to rescue a woman who was in danger, but when they came face to face with the source of the sound… it was simply a screaming goat.
