Judge Denies DOJ Request for Records of ‘Transgender Care’ for Kids

A federal judge Tuesday denied a Department of Justice attempt to subpoena a Boston hospital’s records of children receiving “gender-affirming care” at the facility.  The judge called the subpoena a “bad faith” attempt to stop Boston Children’s Hospital from providing the services, to stop patients from seeking them, and to infringe on Massachusetts’ “right to protect” gender-affirming care.   “The administration has been explicit about its disapproval of the transgender community and its aim to end” gender-affirming care, U.S. District Judge Myong Joun wrote. “The subpoena reflects those goals.”  The hospital previously faced scandal after reports revealed that it had performed 65 so-called gender transition surgeries on children as young as 13—a fact it attempted to cover up after public outcry.?  Now, Joun’s decision stops the DOJ from obtaining patient and staff records relating to the hospital’s provision of those services.  The DOJ said its subpoena was meant to investigate “whether off-label promotion and/or unlawful dispensing of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for use by minors violated federal law.”  But in July, Boston Children’s Hospital asked the court to quash the subpoena, calling it “the latest salvo in the current administration’s effort to prevent patients from accessing lawful medical care.”  “BCH [Boston Children’s Hospital] is dedicated to improving and advancing the health and well-being of children,” it wrote. “GAC [gender-affirming care] is a vital lifeline for many gender-diverse individuals.”  It claimed the subpoena was overbroad and requested unnecessary information, citing the DOJ’s request for the Social Security numbers of patients who received its services.  On Tuesday, Joun, a Joe Biden appointee and the chair of the Boston district court’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commission, sided with the hospital, calling the subpoena a “fishing expedition” made up of “overbroad requests.”  Boston Children’s Hospital wasn’t the only institution to receive such a subpoena. The DOJ sent them to hospitals across the country that provide “transgender care” for children, including Philadelphia Children’s Hospital. Philadelphia Children’s Hospital also moved to block the subpoena, with that case currently stalled in a U.S. district court.?  ?  The post Judge Denies DOJ Request for Records of ‘Transgender Care’ for Kids  appeared first on The Daily Signal.

MSNBC Guest Says Charlie Kirk Could Have Been Shot by ‘Supporter,’ Who Was Celebrating

Conservative radio host Charlie Kirk has been shot according to Utah Valley University Police Department. As of this article’s publication, the Associated Press reports the Turning Point USA co-founder is in critical condition. MSNBC has covered the incident in the most disgraceful way possible. Host Katy Tur said on her show while breaking the news that Kirk had been shot, that the conservative commentator is “divisive” and “polarizing.” ? BREAKING: MSNBC anchor calls Charlie Kirk "divisive" and "polarizing" after he was shot. This is perhaps the most disgusting response to a political act of violence I've seen on cable TV, ever.pic.twitter.com/ODnKKduvFT— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) September 10, 2025 Somehow it got much worse from there. One of Tur’s show guests, Matthew Dowd, said that the details of the case weren’t known. But this comment certainly didn’t seem like a cautious avoidance of speculation on his part. He continued, “We don’t any of the details of this yet, we don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their guns off in celebration.” Dowd then said that Kirk is constantly pushing “hate speech, sort of aimed at certain groups.” It just kept getting worse. “You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have, and then saying these awful words, and then not expect awful actions to take place,” Dowd said. Watch here if you can stomach it. Here's the longer clip of Matthew Dowd on MSNBC condemning Charlie Kirk as he fights for his life, and suggesting the shooter may have fired "in celebration.""He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this who has constantly sort of pushing this… pic.twitter.com/fMarB8PONd— Tyler O'Neil (@Tyler2ONeil) September 10, 2025 It’s obvious that Dowd used this moment to take a cheap shot at conservatives, then insinuated that somehow it was Kirk’s fault that someone shot him. There was a deluge of righteous anger directed toward MSNBC following this commentary. Podcast host Ben Ferguson said of Dowd, “You are a SICK AND EVIL MAN! Matthew Dowd just basically said that Charlie Kirk deserved to be shot! You are a SICK AND EVIL MAN! “You can’t stop with these awful thoughts you have, and these awful words, and then not expect awful actions to take place.” pic.twitter.com/ENb6ukhyQ5— Ben Ferguson (@benfergusonshow) September 10, 2025 Federalist editor Sean Davis said, “MSNBC contributor Matthew Dowd says Charlie Kirk deserved to be shot.” Former ABC political director and MSNBC contributor Matthew Dowd says Charlie Kirk deserved to be shot. https://t.co/eBNhy70rKg— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) September 10, 2025 Radio host Clay Travis called the comments “utterly despicable.” This is utterly despicable. MSNBC guest says Charlie should expect to get shot based on what he says. I can’t believe this is real. The left wing in this country is evil and violent: pic.twitter.com/TlksjT6TdJ— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) September 10, 2025 Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., said that everyone at MSNBC “should be fired.” Everyone @MSNBC needs to be fired! https://t.co/GwZnJTW9ea— Tim Burchett (@timburchett) September 10, 2025 The post MSNBC Guest Says Charlie Kirk Could Have Been Shot by ‘Supporter,’ Who Was Celebrating appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk is dead, President Donald Trump confirmed Wednesday. “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” the president posted on Truth Social. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.” “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us,” the president added. “Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” “It is with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that, earlier this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” Justin Streiff, chief operations officer at Turning Point USA, wrote in an email to staff that was obtained by The Daily Signal. PolitiFact Rates Energy Department 'False' For Agreeing With It

Whether they be on the left, right, or in the center, one of the frustrations of journalists everywhere is people who only read the headline, or the tweet, for a given article. On Tuesday, PolitiFact deputy editor Louis Jacobson did just that when he labeled the Department of Energy’s X account “false” for a claim about solar and wind energy that, if he had only read the article, he would have known the department wasn’t making. The post in question read, “Wind and solar energy infrastructure is essentially worthless when it is dark outside, and the wind is not blowing.” In the “if your time is short” section, Jacobson tried to rebut, “Wind energy infrastructure doesn’t produce power if the air isn’t moving, and solar doesn’t generate power if the sun’s not out. But that doesn’t mean that either source of energy is "worthless" during those periods.” He also wrote, “Once produced, energy generated from wind and solar can be stored in batteries or in larger pieces of infrastructure such as reservoirs.” Much of the rest of the article focused on expanding on that point. The problem for Jacobson is that the Energy Department’s post linked to an interview Secretary Chris Wright did with The Washington Examiner and in that article, energy and environment reporter Callie Patteson wrote, “The secretary claimed that, without proper battery technology, wind and solar energy infrastructure is essentially ‘worthless’ when it is dark and when the wind isn’t blowing [emphasis added].” On Friday, Wright spoke at the Council on Foreign Relations, and during the Q&A session, he was asked about this very question. Wright answered: I’m about the numbers. If you take all the batteries in the United States, including all the batteries in the electric cars, you can store our electric grid energy production for five minutes. So when you get a cold front, like when 200 people died for Storm Uri in Texas, that was three or four days of massively elevated demand. So the road from five minutes to seventy-two hours to a hundred hours is a very long road. So we need more affordable energy storage. Today, the cost of energy storage makes firming, or making wind and solar firm meaning twenty-four hours a day, increases their cost five- to fifteenfold. So we don’t have a practical way to firm wind and solar today, but it would be awesome if we did. In his piece, Jacobson paints a different picture, ‘“We now have increasingly widespread and affordable battery storage at the home and the utility scale,’ said Christopher R. Knittel, professor of energy economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. ‘That allows renewable energy produced during the day to be stored and used at night or during demand spikes.’”  If Wright and Knittel want to debate each other on the merits of battery storage in 2025, they can and should, but Jacobson should refrain from throwing around “false” labels based off tweets linking to articles that he didn’t read.

Leftists show their true colors after Charlie Kirk is shot — and it's absolutely sickening

Charlie Kirk was targeted in an assassination attempt at Utah Valley University Wednesday afternoon — and the left immediately showed us who they are. Before any details were known — other than the fact that Kirk, one of the most influential American conservatives, had been shot in the neck — talking heads on MSNBC, for example, had already begun a campaign to blame Kirk and the Make America Great Again movement for the attempted assassination. On MSNBC's live coverage of the tragic news, Democrat Matthew Dowd seemingly blamed Kirk."He's been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures, in this who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech," Dowd said. "And I always go back to: Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions," he continued. "And I think that's the environment we're in — that just you can't stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place." — (@) MSNBC anchor Katy Tur, meanwhile, seized on the moment to condemn Kirk as a "divisive figure, polarizing, lightning rod." CNN anchor Boris Sanchez sang the same tune, using CNN's airwaves to describe Kirk as "not without controversy. He’s taken a lot of controversial positions when it comes to the culture war. It's part of his brand."The implication of such descriptors is clear: Those who would use this moment to describe Kirk as "divisive" and "controversial" and "polarizing" are blame-shifting and suggesting that Kirk had it coming. The rhetoric on social media was even more toxic and upsetting, as people who dislike Kirk celebrated what happened to him. The following are just a few of the sick examples of leftists celebrating:"Sympathy for your enemies is cruelty for your friends. I don't support Charlie Kirk, f**k you," one person said."Condoning violence, especially unjust violence is evil. Acknowledging consequences for rhetoric that condones and makes excuses for unjust violence is simply logical. F**k Charlie Kirk, he knew he advocated for murder, he was just to [sic] privileged to realize it could be his own," another person said."ZERO thoughts or prayers for Charlie Kirk. F**k him," another person said."I swear to god if hitler got shot rn ppl would be saying 'keep him in ur prayers' and 'political violence is never ok'. like NO! you are just stupid and aren’t ready for change. f**k Charlie Kirk," one person said."F**k Charlie Kirk as a staff, record label, and motherf**king crew. Anyone posting sympathy for this piece of s**t can f**k themselves," one person said."#CharlieKirk was an evil and dangerous person, the absolute worst of the worst: racist, homophobe, climate change denier, race baiter, rampant Covid-10 [sic] misinformation spreader, liar, divider, election denier, prominent conspiracy theorist, etc., so no, I feel no sorrow," another person said.As Maya Angelou once said: "When someone shows you who are they are, believe them."Kirk is reportedly in critical condition, and authorities have reportedly arrested the person they believe is responsible for shooting Kirk.Like Blaze News?
