Ken Paxton, the Republican attorney general of Texas, sued the makers of Tylenol on Tuesday, claiming that the companies hid the risks of the drug on brain development of children. The lawsuit is the latest fallout from President Trump’s claim last month that use of Tylenol during pregnancy can cause autism. That link is unproven.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) announced Tuesday he will be suing drugmakers of acetaminophen for “deceptively marketing Tylenol to pregnant mothers,” basing his accusations off President Trump’s unfounded claims that the medication could be linked to autism. In an announcement, Paxton, who is challenging Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) in next year’s midterms, claimed that Kenvue and Johnson & Johnson ignored evidence that acetaminophen could cause autism or ADHD.

Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica Tuesday as the strongest storm in the island's history. The Category 5 hurricane tore a path of destruction across the island, causing major flooding and power cuts. Prime Minister Andrew Holness declared the country a "disaster area."
