Red State Reviews 2 Million+ Voter Registrations, Finds Only One Instance Of Noncitizen Registering To Vote

After reviewing 2.1 million people on its voter rolls, Utah’s elections office announced it found not a single instance of a noncitizen casting a ballot, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. There was only one instance of an ineligible individual registering to vote. The news follows Utah lawmakers advancing legislation that would require voters prove they’re U.S. citizens. An ongoing Utah review of 2.1 million voter registration records has found one noncitizen who registered to vote and zero examples of any noncitizens actually voting. https://t.co/6E8inte7P9 — The Salt Lake Tribune (@sltrib) January 23, 2026 More from The Salt Lake Tribune: It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in state and federal elections, and county clerks check Utahns’ driver license or ID number, or the last four digits of their Social Security number to verify citizenship before registering someone to vote. Voters are also required to sign an affidavit certifying they are citizens. “We have not yet encountered anyone who voted illegally,” Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, who oversees Utah’s elections, said of her office’s review of the state’s voter file. The review — which has included comparing voter data to state and federal records — is still ongoing. Henderson said there were 486 registered voters whose information on file was either incomplete or inaccurate, which could be due to typos, or a missing driver license or Social Security number. About a third of the 486 voters registered decades ago, before the state required a driver license or Social Security number to register. All 486 of the flagged individuals have been sent letters asking them to re-register or to provide additional information, and 52 have done so. “I anticipate that the vast majority of these 486 are in fact citizens and just need to update their information,” Henderson said. According to Utah News Dispatch, Rep. Cory Maloy, R-Lehi, said that even a few noncitizens voting in elections is “a few too many.” “This bill helps protect the meaning of citizenship,” Maloy said, according to the outlet. The bill easily passed the Utah House in a 62-13 vote, moving to the Senate for approval. The Utah House of Representatives approved a bill meant to ensure that all people registering to vote in the state of Utah are U.S. citizens. https://t.co/D9EDKcdLTK : Tim Vandenack, KSL pic.twitter.com/9aP1BWMYfa — KSL NewsRadio (@kslnewsradio) January 27, 2026 Utah News Dispatch shared further: Critics say the move isn’t needed and could pile greater administrative and financial burdens onto county election offices. They note voters already must attest they are U.S. citizens. Rep. Sahara Hayes, D-Millcreek, said during the House debate that she’s not opposed to the concept behind the measure. “But as the recent audit pointed out, this isn’t really an issue that needs solving here in Utah,” Hayes said. “We only had one noncitizen on our voting rolls and they did not vote.” The bill sets a process for election officers to investigate a voter’s citizenship status if existing state and federal databases don’t answer the question. For the November general election, the proposal requires elections officers to send notice to voters by July 1 if they need to provide proof of citizenship, then give them 30 days to respond. Maloy said Utah doesn’t have authority over federal elections, so voters could cast their ballots in federal races even if his proposal becomes law and they don’t comply with verifying their citizenship. Rep. Angela Romero, D-Salt Lake City, questioned whether the bill would allow any elected official in Utah, not just those overseeing elections, to determine who can and can’t vote. Maloy said only those in charge of running elections could do so.

Another House Republican Announces Retirement

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) announced on Wednesday that he will not seek re-election in the 2026 midterms. “Serving the people of Northwest Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives is a tremendous honor; and throughout my six terms, I have focused on upholding the Constitution and representing the values of the Eleventh Congressional District and the great state of Georgia,” Loudermilk said in a statement. “I first ran for election to Congress in 2014 and, as I stated then, representing the people in Congress is a service, not a career; and although I continue to have strong support from the people of the Eleventh Congressional District, I believe it is time to contribute to my community, state, and nation in other ways. Therefore, I have decided not to seek re-election at the end of my current term in Congress,” he continued. Rep. LOUDERMILK announces he won't run for reelection to his Georgia seat. pic.twitter.com/L5W00sV6F2 — Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) February 4, 2026 Loudermilk is the 29th House Republican to not seek re-election this cycle. The Hill has more: “I have learned throughout my life that doing what is right is not always easy, convenient, or popular. My wife and I have prayed diligently and discussed this extensively; and, while this is not an easy decision, we believe it is the right one. While serving my constituents in Congress ranks among my greatest honors, being a husband, a father, and a grandfather holds even greater importance to me; and at this time, I wish to spend more dedicated time with my family,” Loudermilk said. Loudermilk is the chair of Republicans’ Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, which he pushed with an assist from President Trump. He first joined the House in 2015. The Georgia Republican represents a solidly red district, which President Trump won by more than 20 points in the 2024 election. US Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) announces he won’t seek another term in Congress#GA11: Trump +23 in 2024 pic.twitter.com/rTslepMfjY — Politics & Poll Tracker (@PollTracker2024) February 4, 2026 WABE shared further: The 11th Congressional District, northwest of Atlanta, includes all of Bartow, Gordon and Pickens counties and parts of Cherokee and Cobb counties. The Cook Political Report ranks the district as the fifth-most strongly Republican district of the nine that the GOP holds in Georgia. Before serving in Congress, Loudermilk served in the Air Force. He chaired the Bartow County Republican Party and then served six years in the Georgia state House of Representatives and two years in the state Senate. Loudermilk was scrutinized by the House Jan. 6 committee for giving a tour of parts of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 5, 2021. The committee suggested that some tour participants may have been examining security measures. Loudermilk denied wrongdoing, saying it was a “smear campaign.” After Republicans took the majority, Loudermilk led a subcommittee that released a report alleging former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney acted improperly on the Democratic-led Jan. 6 committee and calling for her to be investigated for criminal witness tampering.

Some Minnesota Jails Will Cooperate With ICE in “Unprecedented” Cooperation

Border Czar Tom Homan announced a drawdown of 700 ICE agents from Minnesota. It is based on a legal agreement to allow counties to temporarily hold jail inmates for ICE agents. The inmates are criminal illegal aliens. It is called “unprecedented,” which shows you how insane this is. Jails have always cooperated in the past, […] The post Some Minnesota Jails Will Cooperate With ICE in “Unprecedented” Cooperation appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Another rogue judge in Oregon on Feb. 3 put sweeping restrictions on the kinds of actions federal agents deployed in Portland can take against protesters exercising their rights to free speech and nonviolent protest. Why Are Democrats Already Questioning The 2026 And 2028 Elections?

The following is an edited transcript excerpt from The Michael Knowles Show. * * * Five years ago, the big issue in America that showed the impaired judgment of Democrats was transgenderism. It’s not that guys playing on girls tennis teams or guys going into the girls bathroom were the biggest issues, it’s that those were the issues that most clearly showed the impairment of judgment among Democrats. You don’t know what a woman is? Then you don’t know anything. That’s why it was such a big issue. Now, in 2026, the question is, what is an American? What is a nation? The big issue has now shifted from transgenderism to immigration. And that’s what largely impelled Trump to a popular vote victory. It’s also what’s causing the riots in the streets, because most Americans voted for mass deportations. But the liberals don’t want to give up their mass migration strategy because they are counting on mass migration to fundamentally alter the demographics and the political order of America so that they can have a permanent electoral majority. Which leads us to the protests over ICE. Why are unhinged white liberal men and women going out and provoking cops to shoot them on behalf of protecting mass migration? Why are mothers and CNN encouraging young teenage boys to skip school, to obstruct law enforcement and put themselves in dangerous situations? What is the political unrest all about? Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat, just told us on C-SPAN. Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA): “I have deep concerns about the fairness of our elections in ’26 and ’28…If it doesn’t scare the heck out of you, it should.” pic.twitter.com/kbLXQwnSD9 — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) February 3, 2026 Credit: @Breaking911/X.com Senator Warner says, I remember back, you know, a year ago at this time when people would often ask me when they were seeing the actions of the Trump administration, you know, do you think we’ll have free and fair elections in 26 or in 28? And my response at that point was, you know, I think you’re overreacting. I have deep concerns about the fairness of our elections in 26 and 28. Right now. I have concerns about the elections in primaries in our country. I have a lot of concerns about the elections that may take place in Virginia in terms of a redistricting referendum. We were told for about five years that anyone who ever questions the legitimacy of elections is a terrible, insurrectionist traitor who needs to be thrown in solitary confinement. And now Mark Warner, based on nothing, is already questioning the legitimacy of the 2026 and 2028 elections, including primaries. It’s very strange, especially because when conservatives raised questions about the election in 2020, it was after the libs had changed all the election rules, in some cases illegally and unconstitutionally. So there was this huge change. I think it was fair to question the elections in that specific, once in a lifetime circumstance where you just change all the election rules, you get rid of a lot of the protections that protect against fraud. But before 2020, it was basically only the Democrats who questioned elections, and they questioned Bush v. Gore, taking that one all the way to the Supreme Court. They didn’t really question in 2004 because Bush won it so handily. Then they won in 2008 and in 2012. They changed election rules in 2020. And now, just after the 2024 election, they’re already saying 2026 and 2028 are going to be rigged. WATCH: The Michael Knowles Show So, it means they’re probably not feeling as good about the upcoming elections as they previously did. Also, they’re trying to set the stage for political violence, for political unrest. That’s why these riots are happening now. Notice, the riots weren’t happening in the first part of the year with the Trump administration. You had mass deportations almost immediately and they weren’t really kicking up then. Well, it’s kicking up now that we’re looking ahead to the midterms, and they probably started it a little too early. Winter is not the best time to riot, especially when the libs who are too sensitive don’t like the cold that much. But that’s what this is about. The reason the unrest is kicking up almost immediately after 2026 begins is because this is all about the elections they want to win. They have two objectives here: First, they want to create great instability that will allow them to exert more control over elections, which always opens up the question of fraud. Second, they want to make a threat. And the threat is: we’re going to keep violently rioting if we don’t get our way. That’s what they’re after. It’s all about elections. We will see if their strategy works. As an issue, however, the immigration matter works well for the GOP. Republicans are completely on the right side of immigration by basically any public opinion poll. In terms of the political violence, though, the Left just might be able to ram their way through. That remains to be seen.

Bride’s Goes Viral After Making the Best Out of Bad Luck

We’ve heard that rain on a wedding day means good luck. We’ve also heard not to be afraid of a spider on your wedding dress or worry about dropping the ring. All of these things could lead to good fortune, prosperity, and a long, loving marriage. We’re not sure if any of that is true, but looking on the bright side of life never hurt anyone. Carly Friedman knows this better than anyone. As the bride walked down the aisle with her new husband, Lyle Bienstock, her mother-in-law accidentally stepped on her veil, ripping it right off. Instead of getting upset, Carly laughed, and Lyle went in for a huge smooch. Video of the encounter went viral, and people couldn’t love Carly’s reaction more. @carlyfrieds Just my MIL stepping on my veil as I walk down the aisle #MIL #wedding ♬ original sound – Carlyfrieds – This Bride Didn’t Let a Veil Fail Ruin Her Day The bride told People that when her veil began to rip, she was a bit terrified. “When my veil started pulling me, I was internally freaking out that I was going to fall backward or that it might take some of my extensions with it,” Carly said. Carly said, despite what some people think, she and her mother-in-law have no bad blood. She just got caught up in the moment and got excited. When it was all said and done, it didn’t matter and made for a great story. She hopes other brides can use her experience as a reminder not to let little things ruin their big day. “You put so much time, effort, and money into your wedding, and at the end of the day, you’re marrying the love of your life — that’s all that really matters,” Carly told People. “There will always be little things that go wrong, but you can choose whether to let them bother you or not, and it’s simply not worth it. It’s such a special day celebrating your love with all your favorite people, and there’s so much happiness in the room that nothing is worth getting in the way of that. Even if a couple things go wrong, a million more go right.” This story’s feature image can be found here.
