A.F. Branco Cartoon – At All Cost

A.F. Branco Cartoon: AG Garland says, “I will protect this building (DOJ) and its people,” but he says nothing about upholding the Constitution. That tells you everything you need to know about where his heart and mind are: Protecting Biden and the Deep State. WATCH: A Visibly Rattled Merrick Garland Forced to Go on Defense For the First Time as House Republicans Vote to Hold Him in Contempt By Cristina Laila – May 16, 2024 US Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday told reporters that the Justice Department does not need to comply with a congressional subpoena because the DOJ is “a fundamental institution of our democracy.” A visibly rattled Garland made the statements during a press conference to reporters after Joe Biden asserted executive privilege over the audio of his interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. Merrick Garland was forced to go on defense for the first time as two GOP-led House Committees vote to hold him in contempt of Congress. READ MORE…   DONATE to A.F. ‘Wonderfully Touching’: Jason Aldean’s Tribute To Toby Keith At ACM Awards Lights Up Social Media

Jason Aldean paid tribute to country legend Toby Keith at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, with the late star’s family praising it as “wonderfully touching.” During the ACM Awards, held at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the 47-year-old country singer took the stage to sing his version of one of Keith’s biggest hits, “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” Sitting on a stool with his guitar, Aldean sang a slowed-down acoustic version of Keith’s 1993 hit, which got an emotional reaction from Keith’s family and many viewers, Taste of Country noted. After the performance, the host of this year’s ACM Awards, country star Reba McEntire, reacted to Aldean’s tribute. “Toby, we’ll never forget you and I kind of feel like you’re here with us tonight anyway,” McEntire told the audience. “The Covel family would like to thank Jason Aldean for the wonderfully touching performance at the ACM Awards tonight,” a message from Keith’s family posted on X read. “It was the perfect tribute to Toby Keith.” “Jason Aldean just sang ‘Should’ve Been a Cowboy’ in an incredible and touching tribute to Toby Keith at the ACM Awards. So epic,” one person wrote, along with a TikTok clip someone made that read, “Who else is crying at home! Miss You Toby Keith.” Another added, “Jason Aldean doing a tribute to Toby Keith. It got a little dusty in here.” While a third wrote, “What an amazing tribute to Toby!! Jason Aldean.” Later, Aldean shared the video of his tribute on X, writing, “Such an honor to get to pay tribute to my friend, [tobykeith], tonite [sic] on the #ACMawards. Toby was a big influence for a lot of us, including me, so it’s a full circle moment getting to play for him and honor his legacy. We miss you Toby!” Before the “Try That In A Small Town” star took the stage, fellow country star Blake Shelton introduced the tribute segment talking about his late pal, saying he was both “heartbroken and honored” to pay tribute to Keith as he highlighted the singer’s incredible career and praised his role as a father. Keith died earlier this year following a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. He was 62. Following his death, the “Red Solo Cup” hitmaker was announced as one of the new inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. World’s Top Golfer Arrested While Trying To Enter Club For 2nd Round Of PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the world, was detained by authorities and placed in the back of a police car while he was trying to get to the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, for the second round of the PGA Championship Friday morning, ESPN reported. Scheffler reportedly attempted to drive past a police officer directing traffic and angered the officer. The officer then “attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car,” according to ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, who said he witnessed the bizarre scene. The golfer stopped his vehicle at the entrance of the golf club and was told by the officer to exit his car. “When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs,” Darlington wrote. “He is now being detained in the back of a police car.” A video posted on X by the ESPN reporter showed Scheffler being taken into custody before he was driven away in the back of the police car. “Right now, he’s going to jail,” one officer told Darlington. “He’s going to jail, and there ain’t nothing you can do about it.” Here is video that I took of Scheffler being arrested: https://t.co/8UPZKvPCCf pic.twitter.com/9Tbp2tyrJh — Jeff Darlington (@JeffDarlington) May 17, 2024 Dozens of police cars were on the scene outside Valhalla Golf Club in response to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian, according to ESPN. That accident was unrelated to Scheffler’s arrest. What the heck is going on right now? Scottie Scheffler arrested trying to get into Valhalla?! pic.twitter.com/a3coox510t — sam stone (@sam_rock_stone) May 17, 2024 Darlington added on the ESPN broadcast that police “had no idea” that the man they had arrested was the best golfer in the world. “I say that because one police officer came up to me with his pad and said, pen in hand, ‘Can you tell me the name of the person we just arrested?'” Darlington reported. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Scheffler finished the first round on Thursday at four under par, which placed him tied for 12th and safely into the second round of the PGA Championship. The golfer is coming off a victory at the Masters last month, and Scheffler and his wife also celebrated the birth of the couple’s first child, with Scheffler posting a picture of the newborn earlier this week. After winning his second green jacket last month, Scheffler said that what defines him most is not his success in golf, but his faith. “I feel like I’ve been given a platform to compete and show my talent,” he said. “It’s not anything that I did. I think I sat up here a couple years ago during the interview after the 2020 Masters and it’s like, yeah, I was underprepared for what was about to happen. I didn’t know what was going to happen. I didn’t. I was very anxious that morning. I didn’t know what to expect.” “And it’s hard to describe the feeling, but I think that’s what defines me the most is my faith,” he added. “You know, I believe in one Creator, and I’ve been called to come out here, do my best to compete and glorify God and that’s pretty much it.”

Couple Overcome With Emotion Seeing Ocean For The Very First Time

If you don’t live near the ocean, then seeing this magnificent sight for the first time can be an unforgettable experience. A woman on social media caught one couple’s reaction to this special moment, and the video is way too sweet! Gena Camp shared the clip online, and it went viral. So many people were touched by how thrilled these two were to finally view the ocean in person! In the footage, the couple started to get emotional from the very moment they caught a glimpse of the huge body of water before them. The woman doubled over in excitement several times on her way down to the sandy beach! When she finally reached the shore, she broke down seeing the ocean up close for the first time. @genacamp80 I’m glad I captured this moment. ♬ original sound – Gena Camp “I’m glad I captured this moment,” wrote Gena in her caption. Many commenters related to the couple’s experience. Some guessed from the video that these two had grown up on a reservation, and the original poster confirmed this. “I’m a Plains Native and the first time I ever saw an ocean it was amazing, man,” wrote one user. “I grew up seeing it in movies/shows. Never once in my life did I think this lil rez kid would see the ocean in his life.” Gena Camp shared several other heartwarming videos from the couple’s first time seeing the ocean. In response to a commenter writing, “Please tell me they at least stood ankle deep in the water,” she added a clip of the pair letting the waves wash over their bare feet. @genacamp80 Replying to @muckle_odeon They did! ♬ original sound – Gena Camp There are so many things in life that we take for granted, it’s refreshing to see people get this excited over one of nature’s many wonders. We think one user put it best in their comment. “As someone who lives on the coast I love this so much,” they wrote. “I tell my son everyday to be thankful because so many ppl never get to experience the ocean.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
