Democrats Try to Tarnish President Trump’s Visit to Arlington

Far-left Axios reported the filing of an “incident” at Arlington National Cemetary. It concerns Donald Trump’s visit to honor the 13 soldiers murdered at Abbey Gate in Kabul. The deceased’s parents invited the former president. The Trump campaign denies claims made in an NPR report that two aides “had a verbal and physical altercation” with a […] The post Democrats Try to Tarnish President Trump’s Visit to Arlington appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

RFK Jr.’s Running Mate Blisters Kamala, Democratic Party, Praises Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, blistered Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, and the Democratic party, savaging Harris for talking about “price-gouging” in the food industry and ripping the party for trying to remove the Kennedy team from the presidential race. Shanahan spoke with Chris Cuomo on “NewsNation.” “I can tell you, Democrats, even though they’ve raised less from their top ten donors, they’ve put an enormous amount of money compared to take out third parties; PACs specifically designed to take them out,” Shanahan told Cuomo. “We haven’t had any of that from the Republican Party, and that has been a real learning experience for us. Could have never expected it, anticipated it, but it had a really big impact on me.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. She lauded former President Donald Trump, saying, “What we did on Friday was amazing because we crossed the chasm; we found somebody who was willing to put these ideas on center stage; millions of people for the first time, heard Bobby’s voice.” Cuomo raised several issues on which he thought the Kennedy team and Trump might disagree, then said, “What guarantee do you have of any power over these issues in the administration, and two, why are you, who’s known for being a savvy person, so quick to trust that Donald Trump will deliver on what he says?” “To answer your second question first, look: where we are right now, is we have taken a year —  Bobby has been running for over a year,” Shanahan responded. “We have crossed this nation; we have talked to Americans; we have met people from all ends of the political spectrum, which is what you should be doing if you are running for a representative office.” “100%,” Cuomo agreed. “You should be out there listening,” Shanahan continued. “And our job is to bring that voice to whomever is going to be sincere in their reception to hearing the American public, where they’re hurting; what is going on. I mean, farmers. Farmers are so underrepresented right now. And this is why I brought up some of my criticisms of Kamala Harris’ food cap economic policy, food price capping.” On August 16, Harris told a North Carolina crowd, “I will work to pass the first-ever federal ban on price gouging on food.” “Farmers are on their knees in this country right now,” Shanahan declared. “They are not ‘price gouging.’ To say that our farmers are ‘price gouging’ when they are already on their knees; who can I take that message to today? You tell me, Chris.” “Yeah, that’s a fair criticism,” Cuomo admitted. WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI “Who’s gonna listen to me? Cause I have taken this message for years to the Democratic Party, and I cannot get through to anybody,” Shanahan said. “It’s not like this has happened overnight. I didn’t wake up one morning and say, ‘What a great idea it would be to leave the Democratic Party.’ No. I tried everything, everything, in my capability to get through to someone who would listen and hear this actual science, to hear the people on the ground, to listen to American voices.” “And we’ve gotta judge people by their reactions; we’ve gotta judge people by the people around them and, right now, Trump has some really good people around him, and he’s willing, he’s more than willing to listen,” she asserted. “He wants to listen, understand, verify, and then say, ‘All right, who’s going to help me get this done?’ And Bobby has been right up there next to him being like, ‘I will get this done with you.’” Robert Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, goes scorched-earth on the Democratic Party upon Chris Cuomo asking her why she is trusting former President Trump. Cuomo began by asking, “Why are you, who’s known for being a savvy person, so quick to trust that Donald Trump… pic.twitter.com/4NZUcOjKEs — Christian Movick (@ChristianM_74) August 27, 2024

Foundations Of The West: Jordan Peterson And Spencer Klavan Explore Athens And The Logos

The following is an edited transcript excerpt from Dr. Jordan B. Peterson’s new DailyWire+ series Foundations of The West. Join Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and his esteemed colleagues in this new 5-part series exploring the ancient cities that shaped the West. Start time: 12:17 Pynx Hill, Greece. Credit: ecotourism-greece.com Jordan B. Peterson: Where are we? Spencer Klavan: We are on the sight of a miracle. This is what’s called the Pynx. It comes from a Greek word meaning “closely packed together.” From 507 B.C. onward, the Athenian citizens would gather here to debate and discuss the fate of their city. There was nothing, basically, that they couldn’t decide if they voted on it here in almost every context — in war, in peace. This was the site where the Ecclesia, the Democratic Council of Citizens, met to debate and vote on every question you can imagine. There was almost no choice that couldn’t be made here by the people and by a vote. Initially, we think it had about a 5,000 person capacity. Most of the original Pynx is no longer visible at this point. It is remarkable to consider. You come up here, you sacrifice to Zeus, who is, you know, Zeus of the Council, Zeus of the Gathering. And then that cry goes out: “Who wishes to speak?” And you’re gazing out upon this sparklingly new row of columns rising up effectively out of the hill as you spoke. The closest thing to the Pynx in modern America is the town hall. In the painting called “Free Speech” by Norman Rockwell, a man gets up and just addresses the crowd. It refers to our American belief that every man is created in the image of God and endowed with liberty by his Creator. That’s the spirit of the Pynx alive in America. Norman Rockwell Museum Collections; SEPS: Curtis Publishing, Indianapolis We believe fundamentally in the same idea that the Greeks had of equality before the law and freedom of speech. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. You get a say. That’s the idea. What’s astonishing about this place is the temple not far from here, the Temple of Zeus (Olympian Zeus), was built under a tyranny. Cleisthenes, who was of these very famous and wealthy aristocrats, led what became a popular uprising. And every other city around this region reacted in the same way. They had an uprising, a revolution, and the installation of a tyranny because that’s a natural response, a revolution to extreme wealth and equality. This sort of thing has happened since time immemorial. The miracle to me is that what happened instead in Athens, they turned to this guy Solon, and they gave him the sole archonship of the city. He canceled the slavery of debt, but what he didn’t do is redistribute property or take tyrannical control. So that choice had left the Athenians in this unique position among all their contemporaries. They still had this inkling, this tradition, that actually there was another course here.  WATCH: Foundations of the West, Episode 2: Athens And The Logos, with Jordan Peterson and Spencer Klavan Peterson: How did the democratic state arise to begin with? Why did the aristocrats abandon their power or distribute it? What emerged to foster that?  Klavan: Well, it’s a great story of high morals and low venal ambition. At the end of the sixth century B.C., leading into the fifth century, we get what we would now call a democracy. Cleisthenes, in an allegiance with the Spartan King Cleomenes, marshals the people to his aid. What you end up with is an aristocrat who is so cornered that the only people he can turn to are the people. So that’s where you get this extremely direct democracy. They would meet on this hill, which they then chiseled out into this audience space, and they would ask, “Who wants to speak?” There was still a hugely powerful aristocracy. But fundamentally, what you now had was a situation in which anybody within the citizen role, from the lowest farmer to the bluest blooded aristocrat, had something to say. It’s a shocking turn of events, and it makes Athens distinctive for the rest of its history. During the Persian War, when they beat back this massive empire — whereas the Persian forces were being driven by the lash of their great king, who was the embodiment of Ahura Mazda — these guys were fighting for their freedom, and it was only because they stood up for that that we even have an idea of democracy at all. It was itself a bad word in antiquity. It was very suspicious to a lot of people.  George Pachantouris. Getty Images. Peterson: Yes, well, why would you give the rabble a voice?  Klavan: Why, indeed. Freedom inevitably creates more potential for chaos. The genius of the American founders was that they lived during a time when these questions were being reexamined and reanimated, and the founders were looking out at this enormous expanse of land and territory. And they were looking back at Athens and saying, “Well, ok, this is very beautiful that they fought for their freedom. But ultimately, of course, they ended up in a kind of disarray.” The Peloponnesian War comes, so they were looking back at the fall of that and thinking, well, it’s really Rome, the Republic of Rome, and the representative government that works best. Our whole idea of politics comes from the word polis, and a polis is a city. From that, we have our word politique, which is the art, the technique of gathering together in community and living life together. That’s not just a list of laws. There’s so much more to politique, to the art of politics and of community. And what Aristotle says is that mankind is a political animal, and by that he doesn’t mean that we’re born naturally into the world with an interest in tax policy or economic figures. What he means is that everywhere we live, we live in structured community together. The question is going to be how? What is the most just? The best way to organize our lives? That’s what politics is. Woodman. DailyWire+. Peterson: In the Judeo-Christian tradition, in Exodus, Jethro tells Moses that tyrant judge plus rabble isn’t a good model of government; there has to be hierarchical levels intermediating, and that’s the alternative to the tyranny and the desert. It’s something like the hierarchical organization of authority, which is, by the way, how your brain works too. It interacts with the world in nested concepts that are hierarchically structured. If that hierarchy is performing optimally, then you get the right balance between chaos and order. Then you could see in democracy that the Judeo-Christian tradition and the Athenian tradition stack. The combination of those two in some sense is the core of modern conservatism. Power should be distributed down to the hierarchy, to the lowest, most local possible level of decision. And you could say, “Well, that should just be democracy where everyone has their voice.” But the problem with that is it gets very, very fractious, and it doesn’t scale. Klavan: The problem with democracy is that it devolves into mob rule, which opens the way for a strong man and a tyranny. Peterson: That’s what people clamor about when they talk about the danger of populism. Klavan: Yes, exactly. Peterson: The mob has gotten out of hand; now, they’re going to elect a tyrant. Klavan: Really, the republic is a perpetual motion machine. It’s designed to take that cycle and just freeze it essentially. * * * WATCH: Foundations of the West, Episode 2: Athens And The Logos, with Jordan Peterson and Spencer Klavan

Kamala’s Campaign Says Sept. 10 Debate Terms Not Final After Trump Says It’s On

The Kamala Harris campaign denied that it had reached an agreement for the current vice president to debate former president Donald Trump on September 10. Trump said in a social media post on Tuesday that the terms for the debate to be hosted by ABC News were settled. The Harris campaign contested the former president’s assertion, referring to remarks made by Trump earlier in which he seemed favorable to some of the Harris team’s terms. “Both candidates have publicly made clear their willingness to debate with unmuted mics for the duration of the debate to fully allow for substantive exchanges between the candidates – but it appears Donald Trump is letting his handlers overrule him. Sad!” the campaign told Reuters in a statement. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday that both sides had agreed on terms for the ABC debate. The debate rules would be “the same as the last CNN Debate,” including a stipulation that the mic of a candidate would be turned off while the other is speaking, Trump said. “I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” the former president wrote. “It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.” “The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden,” he added. “The Debate will be ‘stand up,’ and Candidates cannot bring notes, or ‘cheat sheets.’ We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ Debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!).” Trump had previously remarked that he would prefer mics to be hot at all times during the debate but that the agreement already in place, which his campaign had negotiated when President Joe Biden was the presumed Democratic nominee, stipulated that only the candidate speaking would have a live mic. “I don’t know. It doesn’t matter to me. I’d rather have it probably on, but the agreement was that it would be the same as it was last time. In that case, it was muted. I didn’t like it the last time, but it worked out fine. Ask Biden how it worked out, it was fine. And I think it should be the same,” Trump told reporters. WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The Harris campaign’s hesitancy to accept the terms of the September 10 debate follows earlier claims from Harris’ campaign that Trump was avoiding taking the stage with Harris. In July, Harris accused Trump of “backpedaling” away from the debate that the Trump campaign had agreed to with Biden’s camp. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said at the time that Democrats could still switch their nominee again after the Democratic establishment and the media had already pressured Biden to drop from the race.

“AGT” Golden Buzzer Winner Turns Modern Pop Hit Into Soulful Ballad

When America saw Reid Wilson for the first time at his AGT Audition, people would have never assumed it was his first time singing in front of a live audience. His performance of Lesley Gore’s You Don’t Own Me stunned the judges and earned him the coveted Golden Buzzer. Now, this 14-year-old star is back at it again, impressing the judges with his new rendition of a popular song. Reid Wilson In The “AGT” Quarterfinals Pexels With his latest performance, this AGT Golden Buzzer winner from Alabama left the crowd speechless. He decided to sing Almost Is Never Enough by Ariana Grande. Reid starts strong, with gentle vibratos as the song builds. The stage looked beautiful, with swirling blue images behind him and the lights at his feet snapping to the song’s beat. As he sings the lyrics, “The truth is, everyone knows,” the audience can feel him building up for something spectacular. From there, he dives into the chorus “Almost. Almost is never enough So close to being in love If I would have known that you wanted me The way I wanted you Then maybe we wouldn’t be two worlds apart But right here in each other’s arms And we almost, we almost knew what love was But almost is never enough.” His Own Special Spin While the chorus lyrics were the same, Reid Wilson is a pro at adding his own special spin to these songs. He made this song his own with changing pitches, surprise vibratos, and soulful additions. As he drags out the last note of the chorus, viewers can see Howie Mandel swaying gently in his seat, fully immersed in the song. With his slight southern accent, soulful charm, and incredible singing talent, Reid Wilson wholly owned this stage. As the fireworks appeared behind him, it was no surprise to anyone that this young man was an AGT Golden Buzzer winner. “AGT” Golden Buzzer Winner Receives A Standing Ovation After the song ended, Reid looked up to see a standing ovation from all four judges. When Terry Cruz shared that he was Howie’s Golden Buzzer, Howie commented, “Did I know what I was doing?” He proudly continued to boast over his pick. He said, “You have so much poise, so much control, and your voice is so clear and so crisp.” The kind comments continued down the entire judges’ table. Sophia commented on how Reid looked like he belonged on that stage. Simon added, “I really do believe, Reid, that singing is going to be your career.” What a comment from the judge who knows the music industry so well! Reid Wilson was all smiles as he received his glowing review. He graciously accepted the compliments and made sure to share how thankful he was. With another incredible performance under his belt, America waits on the edge of its seats to see what this AGT star will do next. The featured image source is here.
