Alvin Bragg agrees to testify before Congress about Trump New York case, but only after sentencing

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) recently agreed to testify before Congress about his prosecution of former President Donald Trump.Last year, Bragg filed 34 felony counts against Trump for allegedly falsifying business records. Late last month, a panel of 12 Manhattan jurors found the former president guilty on all counts.'If they're not willing to come voluntarily, we will subpoena them.'House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) requested that Bragg testify at a June 13 session regarding the DA's case against Trump.According to a letter from Bragg's general counsel, Leslie Dubeck, the DA is "committed to voluntary cooperation" with the committee regarding its investigation into the New York trial. However, Dubeck claimed that Bragg would be unable to attend the upcoming session due to "scheduling conflicts.""That cooperation includes making the District Attorney available to provide testimony on behalf of the Office at an agreed-upon date, and evaluating the propriety of allowing an Assistant District Attorney to testify publicly about an active prosecution to which he is assigned," Dubeck wrote to Jordan. "However, the proposed date that the Subcommittee selected without consulting the Office presents various scheduling conflicts."Additionally, Dubeck claimed that the committee failed to make "clear the scope of the proposed testimony." The letter further stated that Bragg may be unable to testify before Congress until after Trump's sentencing, which is slated for July 11."The trial court and reviewing appellate courts have issued numerous orders for the purpose of protecting the fair administration of justice in People v. Trump, and to participate in a public hearing at this time would be potentially detrimental to those efforts," Dubeck wrote.Jordan recently told the Washington Reporter that the committee plans to subpoena Bragg and Matthew Colangelo, one of the lead prosecutors in the case, if they do not show up to testify. "Everything's on the table, if they're not going to. We got a notice yesterday and we're communicating with them. But if they don't come, we will. If they're not willing to come voluntarily, we will subpoena them," he told the outlet. Colangelo, a former top-ranking Department of Justice official, effectively took a demotion to join Bragg's prosecution team in the New York criminal trial against Trump. Jordan stated that Bragg's decision to recruit Colangelo as a lead prosecutor in the case gave "the perception that the Justice Department is assisting in" the "politicized prosecution" of the former president.Like Blaze News? 'New ways of solving problems': NASA promotes men dressed as women as part of 'diverse and inclusive teams'

The government space agency is promoting transgender and nonbinary individuals, including men posing as women, as part of its Pride Month celebration of diverse teams.NASA posted a video in support of Pride Month to promote "self-affirmation, dignity," and equal rights, the space program said, while adding that it wanted to create awareness of diversity and gender variance.Despite the fact that the video was originally published in 2022, NASA had no issues with repurposing it for its 2024 push for sexuality- and gender-based hiring. In the video, Rebekah Reed, associate director of exploration, integration and science directorate, stressed the idea that children need to be able to relate to "diverse" NASA employees. This includes gay, transgender, and allegedly nonbinary workers that were shown in the video."Every person, every kid, if they can see themselves in the astronauts that we send out in space, but also in the teams that make that possible, then we're doing our job," she claimed."We're doing incredibly difficult and complicated things," she continued. "We want people that look at things from a different perspective, that can bring us new ways of solving problems, and diverse and inclusive teams do that."Also appearing in the video was a man named Amy Lendian, a protective systems engineer.Lendian said that if someone is in the closet, seeing people like himself doing their jobs and being effective is "the biggest encouragement" he can give. He added that being a man who believes he is a woman, while working at NASA, shows that he can successfully complete his job while being his "true self." "They accept me 100%. All together working on this."'For the first time, we have raised the Intersex Progress Pride Flag at a NASA.'On a multimedia page dedicated to Pride, Lendian made further remarks about being transgender, noting that he has worked on the Artemis moon project. "So here I am, a transgender woman, an engineer, working at Kennedy Space Center, and I get to work around these really smart, wonderful people, supporting the Artemis mission," he said.Harel Dor, a robotic systems engineer, also appeared in the Pride video. He spoke about the importance of using his plural pronouns because he is "nonbinary."Dor shared a story about participating in a "candidate lunch," where he met someone who also uses the same irregular pronouns. The video showed a photo of Dor dressed in women's clothes while he recalled that it "felt really nice to see someone else in the room using those pronouns.""I made sure to introduce myself with my pronouns so that they could know you're not the only one here," he added. Days after promoting the video, NASA's Ames Research Center announced that it decided to fly the "intersex progress" flag at the government facility. The flag promotes transgenderism, as well as racial politics."For the first time, we have raised the Intersex Progress Pride Flag at a NASA center to commemorate #PrideMonth," the government entity wrote on X.NASA also claimed that there are still "obstacles in achieving full acceptance and protections for the LGBTQ+ community" but noted that they will continue to "rise" together to achieve their goals at NASA.The space agency then said that there had been "significant contributions of LGBTQ+ employees" and that it recognizes their contributions to "advance NASA's priorities." — (@) Like Blaze News? Why global elites have conditioned us to fear ‘conspiracies’

Is the idea of a “global cabal” just a conspiracy theory, or is there any truth to it? Award-winning journalist Alex Newman thinks he may have an answer. “I would say, first of all, there’s two ditches that one can fall into on these issues,” Newman tells Glenn Beck. “There’s the one ditch, and some people fall into this ditch, that these individuals, these organizations, are so powerful they practically attribute divine, God-like powers.” “That’s ludicrous,” Newman continues. “They’re not God. They don’t control things.” The other “ditch” people fall into when discussing the “global cabal” is that “‘there’s nothing to see here.’” “It’s not just a nice non-partisan think tank,” Newman says, referencing the Council on Foreign Relations. While it's not just an innocent meeting of the minds, not every one of the elites involved is an “evildoing conspirator who wants to enslave humanity.” “It’s a real group; it has been incredibly influential in setting policy in the United States for generations,” he explains. While these global groups are full of many benevolent elites, they're also full of nefarious actors. Glenn says that those behind it all feel that "the unwashed masses, they don’t understand." So they need to get the media on their side. “We’ll teach it to the media, so the media can help teach it to the people,” Glenn explains from their point of view, calling this "un-American" and a "brainwashing center." One word that was taught to the media, and thus the American people, was “conspiracy.” “This is something that the CIA tried to popularize as a term of ridicule,” Newman explains. “The word ‘conspiracy’ just means two or more people working in secret on some immoral, illegal, or nefarious objective.” “We’re trained almost like Pavlov’s dogs, we’re conditioned to recoil in horror when somebody says the term ‘conspiracy,’” he adds. Now Americans have been conditioned to look past what’s true if someone has labeled it a “conspiracy theory.” “We’re in a world where truth is no longer a defense,” Newman says. Police chief outraged after illegal alien allegedly causes car crash that killed mother and daughter in Michigan

A police chief has voiced outrage after a man with "no legal status" in the United States allegedly caused a car crash in southeastern Michigan that claimed the lives of two women.Just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jose Medina-Hernandez, 33, was driving a box truck southbound on M-53 in Shelby Township, about 30 miles north of Detroit. Suddenly, Medina-Hernandez allegedly ran into a Buick Verano, triggering a series of car crashes involving at least two other vehicles, a press release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office said.'Our office is committed to ensuring that justice is served and that the responsible party is held accountable for their actions in this incident.'In the Buick Verano were two women, 63-year-old Crystal Brunn and her 88-year-old mother, Nancy Richmond. Both died as a result of the crash, though whether they died immediately is unclear.Medina-Hernandez was taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. About a mile stretch of M-53 also had to be closed for hours that day to process the scene and tend to the victims.Medina-Hernandez was later charged with two counts of moving violation causing death, a misdemeanor offense that carries a sentence of up to one year in jail. He remains in custody on $250,000 bond. No other court dates in connection with the case have yet been scheduled."Our office is committed to ensuring that justice is served and that the responsible party is held accountable for their actions in this incident. We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this senseless loss," said a statement from Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.Several local media outlets have described Medina-Hernandez as a resident of Westland, another Detroit suburb. The press release from the prosecutor's office made no mention of Medina-Hernandez's immigration status. However, an investigation later determined that he is actually an illegal alien, though his country of origin has not yet been reported."I am distraught over the fact that the suspect, Jose Eugenio Median-Hernandez (sic) was found to have no legal status in the country," Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide said in a statement.Shelide claimed that the accident was "definitely ... preventable." He also extended his condolences to Brunn and Richmond's loved ones.According to WWJ, ICE has been contacted about Medina-Hernandez's case.Like Blaze News? visionOS 1.2 update now available to Apple Vision Pro users

After the end of the WWDC 2024 keynote and the introduction of visionOS 2.0, Apple has finally released visionOS 1.2 to Apple Vision Pro users. While visionOS 1.1 brought several improvements and enhancements for this spatial computer, it seems visionOS 1.2 is a mild update. After Apple released iOS 17.5 to iPhone users, the company is finally seeding visionOS 1.2 to Apple Vision Pro users following the WWDC 2024 keynote. as Apple is focusing on the recently-announced visionOS 2.0 update. When Apple started beta testing visionOS 1.2, it also made available to visionOS 1.1 users a new Spatial Personas feature. With it, you no longer see other people’s Personas in a box but moving freely in the environment. This feature is especially useful with SharePlay as you can watch a movie together, play games, and more. With that, you can take advantage of the beautiful Apple Vision Pro display, and when you look at your side, there are other people with you, making this experience more immersive. Besides that, Apple is likely making improvements on overall stability, app improvements, and other bug fixes with visionOS 1.2. With visionOS 1.1, Apple added Device Management to Vision Pro. With that, IT departments can manage these headsets in the same way they manage other Apple devices. Another change for visionOS 1.1 was the ability to reset this spatial computer if the user forgets the password. This has also become available with the latest visionOS 1.0.3 version. Several users have reported that Apple has also improved FaceTime digital personas and the passthrough image of the real world. Although it’s unclear how much Apple will still be able to improve, the company also highlighted tips and tricks to ensure this device captures your best persona. Here’s what you need to have in mind: Capturing won’t start until you’re holding your Apple Vision Pro at eye level. If you don’t start the capture within 15 minutes, it’s canceled. You can restart the capture after you put your Apple Vision Pro back on. Find a space with front-facing, even lighting so there aren’t shadows on your face. Avoid bright light sources overhead or in the background. Stand or sit in front of a simple, neutral background without too many details. Stay in the same location and position during the capture process. Relax your shoulders while holding Apple Vision Pro. Natural, genuine facial expressions produce the best results. We'll let you know if we discover anything new with visionOS 1.2. Apple releases first iOS 18 beta along with iPadOS 18, macOS 15, and more

Apple releases first iOS 18 beta along with iPadOS 18, macOS 15, and more

Following the WWDC 2024 keynote, Apple has just released iOS 18 beta 1 to developers. The new test cycle will last for at least three months until the company makes the official stable version available to all users. Here's how to install iOS 18 first beta. Alongside the first iOS 18 developer beta, Apple has also seeded the first testing versions of iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2. The official testing version of HomePod Software, version 18, will be released at a later date, as usual. With this new software, Apple is focusing on artificial intelligence, as it has just announced several features, including the ability to summarize web articles, better playlist creation in Apple Music, a powered-up Calendar app, and so much more. At the moment, it's unclear what Apple will make available with beta 1, as some features might be delayed until iOS 18.1 or later. In addition, Cupertino might add some functions that might need extra time until their final release. For example, the first iOS 18 developer beta will likely include the new Home Screen redesign. According to Apple, users will be able to freely place their apps and widgets on the Home Screen. Although it's been available on Android for years, it's nice that the company is finally catching up. As always, BGR will take the next few days and weeks to share everything we discover about these upcoming operating system updates and the real benefits you'll get once they're available to all users later this fall. That said, if you're not a developer, you shouldn't download the first beta of any of these software updates as they're usually buggy, and some programs might not work as intended. While you can return to the previous stable versions on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, it's impossible to return to a stable watchOS version, so be mindful about trying these systems before everyone else. A public beta version will be available later next month, so this is when you should think about trying iOS 18 and the other betas.
