CBS’s Garrett: ‘Revolutionary’ Trump WH Is ‘Not Collegial,’ ‘Unremittingly Hostile’

CBS chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett showed off his dismay with the second Trump administration on Tuesday’s CBS Mornings by painting it in apocalyptic terms as “revolutionary” in nearly every sense of the word and “not collegial” and “unremittingly hostile to the established, stable order” that’s kept America and the world safe and secure. Some doomcasting and fear porn hours ahead of President Trump’s first address to a joint session of Congress in his second term (as it’s referred to the first year of a new presidency with the State of the Union moniker returning in 2026)? How predictable!     Asked by co-host Tony Dokoupil to “[h]elp us understand what is happening in the nation’s capital,” Garrett remarked that “Elon Musk told Joe Rogan on his podcast that Trump’s cabinet is revolutionary and I think we ought to take that seriously because Trump and Musk talk all the time.” Garrett went all negative: So, let’s think about what a revolution means. Revolutions, by definition, are not collegial, and they’re unremittingly hostile to the established, stable order, whatever the order is. So, Trump and his White House are trying to remake the order in Europe, whether the transatlantic alliance of 80 years cares or not, whether NATO cares or not. Closer to home, Garrett lamented Trump wants “Hemispheric domination” based on “why he talks about Greenland the way he does, Panama, and the Gulf of America” and “launched a trade war against Canada and Mexico, our two neighbors, one that is creating economic instability because he is remaking the economy of the world.” As for the federal government, Garrett huffed that Trump wants to “replace civil servants with loyalists and artificial intelligence” and impose “immigration policies” that “are even more aggressive than his original restrictive immigration policies plus he’s added a $5 million gold card to get you to the head of the line.” “All these things, taken in together, are a revolutionary scream against the established order, Republican and Democrat, from anybody that preceded Trump,” he added. Dokoupil said all that sounds “horrifying” and “terrifying” to “people who don’t like President Trump,” but then offered the smallest crumb of balance by acknowledging “fans of President Trump” see his second term thus far as “exhilarating” and “thrilling.” Only here did Garrett concede he doesn’t view the “revolutionaries” in this White House as violent: [W]hat we do know about every revolution past, and I’m not saying this as a hostile, aggressive, armed revolution, but revolutionaries have no shortage of confidence and fervor. And this administration, because I covered the first one, is much more self-confident, much more sure of itself, much more convinced about what it wants to do. In addition to “remaking maps and...economic notions,” Garrett spun the Trump administration’s fight against the scourge of transgenderism and support for families as “tak[ing] our culture back 30, 40 years.” Garrett concluded by stating, in so many words, being a Trump supporter makes you a cultist: It’s all, though, in the same spirit of upsetting what we are accustomed to, remaking things in Trump’s image, and expecting Republicans on Capitol Hill to not only go along but applaud enthusiastically. And, if they don’t, they will receive the hardest political backlash that Trump can give to his own party. To see the relevant CBS transcript from March 4, click here.

Victim brutally beaten by gang of bike-riding thugs speaks out: 'I'm thankful to God that it was only as bad as it was'

Maurice Benaim had no grand plans for how he'd spend the rest of his Saturday last month in Los Angeles.“My day was so vanilla," Benaim told KNBC-TV. "All I wanted to do was go to the store, get my tangerine juice, maybe get some food, and watch the Lakers game."'I just hope it's a sign for them and their friends to maybe put down the violence.'But a gang of 20 to 30 teens riding bicycles changed all of that.Benaim — who was driving his car — told KNBC the bicycle-riding teens took over the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Carillo Drive around 5 p.m. Feb. 22. The area is about 10 minutes southeast of Beverly Hills.Benaim told the station he honked his horn to alert one of the riders."I was trying to notify the kid that [the traffic light is] turning red, and I'm going to be right behind you — and make sure he doesn't hit me," he recounted to KNBC.Then, Benaim told the station, "His friend gets upset."With that, the bike riders threatened Benaim, allegedly told him one of them had a gun, and then smashed his right taillight, KNBC said.Benaim stopped his car and got out, the station said, adding that he was immediately overwhelmed as bike riders surrounded him and began viciously punching, kicking, and stomping him.Cellphone video shows the mob of at least a dozen beating up the lone man who winds up flat on his back, barely moving in the middle of the busy street. Los Angeles Police said the attacking bike riders are between 16 and 18 years old. They all fled before officers and first responders arrived.A KTLA-TV video report noted that the bike riders were "attacking cars all along" San Vicente Boulevard when one man called them out.Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and treated the victim, who sustained minor and visible injuries, police said, adding that the victim declined to be taken to the hospital.Benaim suffered injuries to his head and face, KNBC said. Nearly a week after the attack, he told the station he's still in pain and struggles with sleep due to his injuries as well as the emotional and psychological toll the attack had on him."Daily, it gets better," he added to the station. "I find something to be happy about."In the wake of the beatdown, two teens have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, KCAL-TV reported, citing the office of city Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, who represents the area where the attack took place. The suspects' identities were not released, KABC-TV said.Benaim told KNBC he hopes that by sharing his story the rest of the suspects will come forward and recognize the impact of their actions: "I just hope it's a sign for them and their friends to maybe put down the violence."You can view KNBC's video report here; it includes the station's interview with Benaim.Police said those with information about the attack should call Wilshire Area’s Detective Carlos, Serial No. 41244, at 213-922-8229. During nonbusiness hours, or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247), police said, adding that those wishing to remain anonymous should call L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go to www.lacrimestoppers.org. Police added that tipsters can download the “P3 Tips” mobile app and select L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers as their local program. Not a new trendBlaze News has covered numerous stories about violent crimes carried out by such gangs on wheels. In L.A., a mob of about 30 teenagers on bicycles were caught on video brutally beating up and robbing a lone man last August. But sometimes, they just rob businesses. Bicycle-riding mobs looting 7-Elevens was a recent trend in L.A. Also last August, a mob of about 20 individuals pulled off three nighttime smash-and-grab robberies in a span of 20 minutes. In September, 50 juveniles on bicycles easily ransacked and robbed a 7-Eleven in L.A. and escaped police. But later that same month, there was a small break when a handful of parents turned in their kids after L.A. police shared nearly 200 surveillance images of recent 7-Eleven mob robberies by "youthful males."Like Blaze News? AG Bondi vows to release 'truckload' of Epstein files after evidence stall

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed this week that she received a "truckload of evidence" related to the Jeffrey Epstein case after thousands of files were allegedly withheld.Last week, Bondi provided BlazeTV host Liz Wheeler with the first phase of the Epstein files. The roughly 200 pages of documents lacked any significant revelations, containing information already known to the public. 'If something's redacted, you will know the line and you will know why it's redacted.'The absence of additional, long-awaited evidence sparked significant backlash. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) wrote in a post on X, "THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment.""GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!" Luna said.Bondi revealed that a source with the FBI informed her that the documents she had received were merely a fraction of the Epstein files. She, too, expressed disappointment about the initial information drop.Last week, Bondi wrote in a letter to Patel, "Late yesterday, I learned from a source that the FBI Field Office in New York was in possession of thousands of pages of documents related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein.""When you and I spoke yesterday, you were just as surprised as I was to learn this new information," Bondi stated, referring to Patel. On Tuesday evening, she clarified the circumstances surrounding the underwhelming reveal to Fox News' Sean Hannity.Bondi told Hannity, "I gave [the FBI] a deadline of Friday at 8 a.m. to get us everything. And a source had told me where the documents were being kept, Southern District of New York, shock. So we got them all by — hopefully all of them — Friday at 8 a.m."She stated that "thousands" more pages of Epstein-related documents were turned over to her. Bondi noted that she tasked Kash Patel's FBI with providing the Department of Justice with a report explaining why the documents were withheld. While Bondi vowed to share the documents with the public, she stated that victims' names must first be redacted. She noted that national security and grand jury information would also be redacted."When we redact things, Sean, what we're going to do is not just pull pages out like they used to do. If something's redacted, you will know the line and you will know why it's redacted," Bondi added. "And, you know, we're going to go through it, go through it as fast as we can, but go through it very cautiously to protect all the victims of Epstein."Like Blaze News? Critics lay into Dem senators for killing bill that would keep male cross-dressers out of women's sports

The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act is a piece of legislation that passed the U.S. House in a 218-206 vote in January that would have prohibited federally funded school athletic programs from allowing men to participate in programs intended for women or girls, effectively codifying an executive order President Donald Trump issued last month. Democrats led by Sen. Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) blocked the corresponding bill in the U.S. Senate on Monday, demonstrating both their apparent indifference to opportunistic cross-dressers' brutalization of female athletes and to the supermajority of Americans' desire to see athletes compete in sports teams that conform to their sex. To overcome a Democratic filibuster of the legislation, 60 votes were needed. Every single Democratic senator voted "no," to the great satisfaction of non-straight activist groups like the so-called Human Rights Campaign, which characterized the vote as a "major victory." Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville (Ala.), who introduced the Senate version of the bill, stated that "it is shameful that Democrats refuse to stand up for women and women's sports. This is far from over, and I will NEVER stop fighting to permanently restore Title IX protections." 'Name and shame them all.' The Independent Council on Women's Sports stated that "it's shocking that not a single Senate Democrat will vote to keep girls' sports female-only. This is not representative of the people." Riley Gaines, the All-American swim star who not only had to compete with the transvestite formerly known as William Thomas but found herself sharing a locker room with him, shared a list of the Democratic senators who voted against advancing the bill, noting, "Name and shame them all." "Specifically, I want to highlight GA Democrat [Sen. Jon Ossoff]. You have a daughter. Have you no shame?" wrote Gaines. "Georgians are watching. I will make it my mission to do what I can to remove you from your senate seat in 2026." Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R) shared a video to X calling Senate Democrats' betrayal of female athletes "mind-blowing." "On one side, I'm very upset as a father," said Mullin. "On the other side I'm like, 'Hey, good. Keep voting this way. We're going to keep winning elections on the Republican side because you guys are absolutely crazy. You have lost your ever-loving mind to think it's OK for men to participate in women's sports, for men to go into a women's locker room and change, for men to go into a women's bathroom and use the bathroom in front of our daughters." The White House suggested the Democratic senators responsible for killing the bill were cowards and noted, "Never let them forget it." "They disgust me," responded conservative commentator Megyn Kelly. The supermajority of Americans support keeping opportunistic cross-dressing men out of women's sports. According to a survey conducted last month by the Pew Research Center, 66% of respondents support policies requiring transvestites to compete on teams that match their actual sex. A January New York Times/Ipsos poll found that 79% of Americans — 94% of Republicans, 67% of Democrats, and 64% of Independents or "something else" — said that male transvestites should not compete against women. While the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act is presently dead in the water, Trump's Jan. 20 executive order titled "Defending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government" and his Feb. 5 executive order titled "Keeping men out of women's sports" have already had an impact, prompting the NCAA, for instance, to revise its policy regarding male transvestites' participation in women's sports. M4 MacBook Air reportedly launching tomorrow

After Apple's CEO Tim Cook teased that at least one new product would be released this week by saying "There's something in the AIR," Apple revealed the new iPad Air with the M3 chip and a sort-of improved base-model iPad. Still, these won't be the last releases of the week, as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman expects Apple to announce the new M4 MacBook Air tomorrow. Interestingly, before these announcements, X user Aaron Perris joked that the company could even be readying the iPhone 17 Air, AirTag 2, AirPower, AirPods, AirPort, or even the AirPrint. So many Air products, Apple! While some are expected to get a refresh in 2025, the last main "Air" product expected to get a refresh is the M4 MacBook Air. After all, Gurman continues to tease the release of this laptop for this week. With this computer low in stock, Apple will likely announce it tomorrow. M4 MacBook Air's latest rumors Image source: Apple inc. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman said Apple was “preparing to make a Mac-related announcement as early as this [coming] week.” In addition to his sources, the journalist also said the MacBook Air inventory has dwindled over the past few days, a trend Apple follows every time it announces a new product.  Despite the new chip, which is a great improvement over the M3 processor, the new M4 MacBook Air could have the new 12MP Ultrawide camera, which has been available on the latest MacBook Pro and iMac models. While we don't expect other tweaks, maybe Apple can add a nano-textured option for this device. Wrap up Fortunately, we won't have to wait that long to discover if Apple is going to release a new MacBook Air tomorrow. BGR will let you know as soon as the company unveils it. New report claims Mac Studio with M4 Max launch is ‘imminent’

After the release of the M3 iPad Air and an upgraded base-model iPad, it seems Apple plans to release the long-anticipated MacBook Air with an M4 chip tomorrow. However, this might not be the only new Mac unveiled this week. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the release of a new Mac Studio is "imminent." However, while this new model will feature the new M4 Max chip, it will actually get the unreleased M3 Ultra processor instead of the M4 Ultra option we'd be expecting. Here's what he said on X: "It’s not an 'Air' — but the new Mac Studio, codenamed J575, appears to be imminent. It could be announced as early as this week along with the new MacBook Airs. There are signs these will come with an M4 Max but that its new Ultra chip will actually be an M3 Ultra." https://twitter.com/markgurman/status/1896972159731556579?s=46 While Apple has released M1 Ultra and M2 Ultra iterations of the Mac Studio, it would be odd if the new generation doesn't follow suit with the latest Ultra processor or if Apple launches an M3 option that might be better in some tasks but on par with others when compared the M4 Max option. Gurman gives an interesting explanation for why Apple might add an unreleased M3 Ultra processor instead of the M4 Ultra variant we expect: "With an M3 Ultra going into the Mac Studio, Apple could differentiate from the Mac Pro, which could then get the M4 Ultra. Right now, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro oddly both have the M2 Ultra and same overall performance." That being said, Apple could make a future Mac Pro the only computer with the company's best chip. While this makes sense, I'd assume Apple would be planning to redesign the Mac Pro to make it enticing to professional users, as it doesn't currently feature the modularity of its predecessor.
